Abstract

Critical Discourse Analysis in Educational Service Advertisements Study by Norman Fairclough. Thesis. This research aims to describe the linguistic features of critical discourse analysis in Educational Service Advertisements. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method. The qualitative descriptive method is research that produces data in the form of words or verbally. The focus of this research is critical discourse analysis at the level of analysis of educational service advertising texts which are studied using the Norman Fairclough model. The data in this research is written discourse in Educational Service Advertisements. The data collection techniques used are observation and note taking/recording. Data analysis techniques include data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The research results show that there are forms of AWK linguistic features in Educational Service Advertisements. The linguistic features are lexical processes, meaning relations, metaphors, euphemistic expressions, formal and informal words, positive and negative evaluation, nominalization, passification, use of positive and affirmative sentence forms, sentence modes, modality, text ordering, and control. participants. From data 1 to data 16 what was found were the linguistic features of lexical processes, meaning relations, positive sentence forms and participant affirmation and control.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the frequency of occurrence in the relationship between categories according to the Verbal Interaction Catagory System (VICS). The suitability of verbal interactions that occur between VICS according to Flanders and pedagogical acts according to Siregar. Communication patterns in classroom interactions in the teaching and learning process of Indonesian language subjects on personal letters and official letters in class VII A of SMP Negeri 2 Polongbangkeng Utara. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method. The data sources in this study are data in the form of words, sentences and discourses contained in interpersonal speech in the classroom interaction discourse of SMP Negeri 2 Polongbangkeng Utara. The dimensional relationships that often appear are (2-7a), namely the teacher directs the learner, this can be seen during the learning process. The role of the teacher in the teaching and learning process of official letters and personal letters as a provider of direction and information can be seen from the large number of areas A that appear at 17.70% of all interactions that occur in the classroom. This proves the occurrence of active learning where students are fully involved in the teaching and learning process while the teacher is a facilitator. There is a match between the results of verbal interactions that occur between VICS according to Flanders and pedagogical actions according to Siregar. Where in VICS according to Siregar the discussion process dominates the verbal interactions that occur during the teaching and learning process with the role of the teacher as a provider of direction and information. Pedagogical actions that are often carried out by teachers during the teaching and learning process are in the form of directing motives and informing motives. In class interactions that occur in the teaching and learning process of Indonesian language subjects on official letters and personal letters, a multi-directional communication pattern or transactional communication pattern occurs. Where there is interaction between teachers and students, students and students during the teaching and learning process.

Abstract

Permasalahan dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa mengalami kesulitan dalam mengidentifikasi unsur intrinsik pada cerpen dan kemampuan untuk berkonsentrasi saat membaca cerita pendek kurang optimal. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kemampuan memahami unsur intrinsik cerita pendek melalui media spinning wheel pada siswa kelas V SD Negeri Alluka Kabupaten Gowa. Metode penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK). Desain penelitian ini menggunakan model penelitian dari Kemmis dan Mc. Taggart yang terdiri dari dua siklus dan setiap siklus terdiri dari empat tahapan yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan, tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah kelas V SD Negeri Alluka sebanyak 30 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi dan tes. Dari hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan yang signifikan setiap siklusnya. Hasil tes siklus I, perolehan ketuntasan belajar siswa sebesar 53% dan pada tes siklus II meningkat menjadi 90%. Berdasarkan hasil pelaksanaan tindakan yang mengalami peningkatan setiap pelaksanaan siklus, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan media spinning dapat meningkatkan kemampuan memahami unsur intrinsik cerita pendek siswa di kelas V SD Negeri Alluka Kabupaten Gowa.
