Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of physics-based learning based on smartphone-integrated Group Investigation (GI) as a mobile mini-labs to improve students' science process skills in learning physics. This study is a quasi-experimental research with a post-test control group design. The research sample consisted of 72 students in class XI of Science at SMAN 10 Jambi City which was divided into an experimental class (n=36) and a control class (n=36). Data were collected using science process skills observation sheets and a learning implementation checklist. The results of the analysis using the Mann-Whitney U test showed a significant difference in science process skills between the two groups (p<0.05), with a high effect size value (r=0.86). Experimental classes showed higher improvements in all dimensions of science process skills, especially in communication, data collection and processing, and experiment design. Observation of learning implementation showed effective implementation with an average implementation score of 3.75 out of a maximum score of 4. These findings indicate that smartphone-integrated GI-based physics learning as mobile mini-labs is effective in improving students' science process skills, and provides important implications for the development of innovative physics-based learning strategies based on technology.

Abstract

In spite of using the appropriate learning approaches, there were factors that influenced to the successful in learning, namely intelligence and learning styles. RME approach and learning styles that suitable to students’ characteristics were expected to enhance students’ understanding in solving mathematical problem, which eventually leads on increasing students’ achievement. This research aimed to describe and analyse the process of students' problem solving on the type of visual-based learning RME. This study was qualitative research that used descriptive qualitative method. The research was conducted at class VIII of SMP N 2 Jambi. Subjects consisted of three students who have a visual type learning outcomes of high, medium, and low. The process of solving the problem of the study revealed through observations, interviews and task sheets based on mathematical problem solving. The data were analysed based on indicators of mathematical problem solving by Polya and noted the characteristics of the critical thinking process which included steps: (1) identification of the problem and the relevant information, (2) explored the interpretations and connections, (3) alternative prioritize and communicated the conclusions, and (4) integrated, monitored, and refined strategies for re-handling the problems. The results showed that subject of SVT and SVS could solve the issue properly, the process of solving the second problem showed in step; (1) and (2) the steps to understand the problems, arranged the problem-solving plan, implemented the plan of problem solving, and rechecked the results of problem solving. (3) the steps to understand the problems, arranged and did problem solving plan. (4) Implemented a plan and rechecked the results of problem solving. Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine: (1). The relationship between the creativity of students with learning outcomes Biotechnology. (2). The difference in learning outcomes are taught using cooperative learning model Group Investigation when compared with the conventional model. and to determine how much influence it in a mathematical equation. The subjects were students of class IX, which consists of two classes that exist in the SMP 14 Batang Hari first semester of the academic year 2011 / 2012. The number of students of class IX is 60 people. Class has been divided by the school since the beginning of the class consisting of 30 people IXA, IXB class of 30 people. Members direndominasi subject can not because they are made in such a way from school, academically have average ability of each class is the same so it is considered homogeneous. This research was conducted by using a quasi-experimental type (quasi experiment) with the experimental design consists of classes and control classes.Based on the results of the study showed that: First, the influence of creativity learning on learning outcomes of biotechnology with learning outcomes, namely 7.78 to 7.32 in the experimental class and the control class. Second, the result shows that the statistical processing of F = 182.114 and table F, Fa (n-1)-1 = F.1.1.81 = 2,77 for F count > Ftabel or 182.114 > 2.77 then there is a difference learning outcomes of students who were taught with the model group when compared with the conventional investigate. The conclusion of this study are: (1) There is a significant effect on learning outcomes learning creativity Biotechnology. (2) There are differences in learning outcomes that learned by using cooperative learning model Group Investigation when compared with the conventional model. Abstract

This study was motivated by the problems faced by teachers of physics are the low daily rate of students, it is characterized by  50% of students are in the range of values below 60. The purpose of this experimental study is (1) reveals the presence or absence of a firmness differences in learning outcomes between students taught using cooperative learning model Group Investigation (GI) with students who are taught by using conventional learning model, (2). reveals the presence or absence of firmness is a difference of scientific attitude of students, between students taught using cooperative learning model Group Investigation (GI) with students who are taught by using conventional learning model. This study was an experimental study. The first and second hypothesis can be tested using one-way ANOVA test. Differences in the use of cooperative learning model Group Investigation (GI) with conventional learning model on learning outcomes and student scientific attitude among these variables will be known. Subjects of this study were taken randomly selected by lottery first is the X3 class numbered 40 students, was elected second lottery X5 is a class of 40 students, the class were tested for normality and homogeneity. Timing of treatment for 2 x 45 minutes (1 x meetings) that do as much as 8 times the meeting. At the end of the treatment in the final meeting of the subjects were given a final test consists of 23 multiple choice test items with time-90 minutes. Based on calculations using ANOVA one lane, with criteria if F count> F table, then H0 is rejected, meaning that there is a difference (not homogeneous), and if F count <F table, then H0 is accepted, meaning that there is no difference (homogeneous). Under these provisions, it can be interpreted that there is no difference in learning outcomes for 1.7731 <3.96. F count <F table or 1.773 <6.97 then H0 is accepted, meaning that there are no significant differences in the scientific attitude of students who use the model of cooperative learning model Group Investigation (GI) than conventional learning model The findings of this study indicate that there are differences in learning outcomes and scientific attitude of students, between students taught using cooperative learning model Group Investigation (GI), with students taught by conventional learning model. Abstract

This research aims to develop interactive multimedia e-learning based on problem-based learning in chemistry learning. Research is the development of multimedia that can be a solution in the form of e-learning. Web learning is expected to function as a virtual teacher, virtual classrooms, and learning resources that can be accessed easily. The media was tested in terms of the attractiveness, ease of use, efficiency, and effectiveness. Development carried out by Lee and Owen adaptation models consisting of analysis, design, development, and evaluation. Evaluation phase is done by testing the expert to be validated. Validation is done by a designexperts, media specialist, and a chemistry expert. The products have been valid then tested on students and chemistry teachers in a small group.Based on group tests, it was found that the learning media products developed were liked and received positive responses, so they could be declared good for use as chemistry learning media.

Abstract

Indonesia is famous with megabiodiversity countries or high diversity both flora and fauna. Among the amount types of flora, of course many of which are morphology seen same, will but after seen in a way anatomy or physiology different. Therefore that, it is necessary done identification in a way deep through Use of DNA Barcode for know difference each species existing plants. Purpose from researcher that is to 1) analyze various literature that utilizes DNA Barcode in identification deep species plant certain; 2) knowing methods used; 3) results; and 4) constraints in study from articles that are searched. The method used in study use systematic literature review with method gather articles a type that has been published in online journals through the Google Scholar platform, which is known wide as source reference credible scientific. Based on results review known that there are 20 articles in total specific discuss use of DNA for identify plants. Concluded that visible plants The same in a way morphology, will but if examined more Far with utilizing DNA, then will seen different its type.
