Abstract

This research aims to explore the effect of using the Wordwall application on improving the reading skills of grade 3 students at SD Negeri 006 Polewali. Using a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design, this research involved two groups: an experimental group that used Wordwall and a control group that used conventional learning methods. The results of data analysis show that the average posttest score for the experimental group increased significantly compared to the control group, with an average increase from 60.2 to 75.4 in the experimental group. In addition, the use of Wordwall has been proven to increase student engagement, motivation, and the quality of understanding of the material. The results of the paired sample t-test and independent sample t-test show a significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores in the two groups, supporting the hypothesis that Wordwall is an effective learning tool in improving reading skills. This research concludes that Wordwall can be used as an alternative innovative and interactive learning media to improve elementary school students' reading skills.

Abstract

Clinical manifestations and laboratory examinations can help diagnose malaria. Several methods, such as molecular-based tests, RDT, and microscopic examination by reading thick and thin blood smears, can be used to diagnose malaria through laboratory tests. RDT is an alternative method for malaria diagnosis that targets Plasmodium antigens. It has been widely used around the world. Public Health students from Cenderawasih University, in collaboration with the Hebeybhulu Yoka Health Center, conducted malaria screening using anamnesis and blood examination methods with RDT. The screening practice started on Tuesday, November 4, 2024, and will continue until November 13, 2024. collecting samples from patients receiving treatment at Puskesmas Hebeybhulu Yoka. Based on the screening results, the biggest risk factor contributing to malaria cases is stagnant water, such as ditches, with 11 positive cases (21.2%). Respondents who tested positive for malaria were 82.7%, with 13.6% testing positive for tertian malaria, 2.5% for tropical malaria, and 1.2% for mixed malaria.

Abstract

In today’s era of globalization, English plays a crucial role as a means of international communication and interaction. One of the main challenges in mastering English is pronunciation. This study aims to explore students’ perceptions of the use of the LingoPanda application in improving English pronunciation, as well as to examine how this application helps them overcome pronunciation difficulties. A qualitative method was employed, with data collected through interviews with BEC students from the 2021–2023 cohorts who have used the LingoPanda application. Thematic coding was used for data analysis. The findings reveal that students have a positive perception of using the LingoPanda application. It is considered practical, easy to use, and supportive of independent learning. Students feel more confident in speaking English as they can practice anytime without embarrassment. Features such as immediate feedback and native pronunciation models help students become more aware of their pronunciation errors, improve fluency, and apply accurate pronunciation in real-life speaking contexts.
