Abstract

This study aimed to assess the impact of attitudes toward Korean and Indonesian celebrities, perceived behavioral control, and subjective norms on consumers’ purchase intentions. This research employs a closed-ended online questionnaire to investigate the factors influencing purchase intentions for products endorsed by both Korean and Indonesian celebrities. A total of 323 respondents who had purchased products endorsed by both Korean and Indonesian celebrities within the last three months filled in the questionnaire. To ensure data relevance, a purposive sampling technique was employed, enabling authors to select participants with relevant experiences who could provide meaningful insights into the research objectives. After a thorough review, 46 responses were excluded because they did not meet the established eligibility criteria, resulting in 287 valid responses for further analysis. These data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 4.1 software. Findings obtained in this study confirmed that all variables significantly and positively affect purchase intentions, with attitudes toward Korean celebrities exhibiting a more substantial influence than those toward Indonesian counterparts, thereby underscoring the decisive role of Korean celebrity endorsements in shaping consumer behavior.

Abstract

The cost of dental care has increased significantly in recent years in various countries, prompting people to seek quality yet affordable dental services. This situation is influenced by several factors, such as income inequality, limited access to health services, and inadequate insurance coverage. One strategy adopted by patients to overcome this problem is to take advantage of dental tourism services in Bali. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the effect of service quality, access to information, and cost savings on patient satisfaction, as well as how this satisfaction affects patient loyalty in the context of dental tourism experiences in Bali. Primary data was collected through a Google Forms questionnaire filled out by foreign and local patients who had experience with dental tourism in Bali. The sampling method was non-probability sampling using convenience sampling techniques with a total of 153 valid respondents. Data analysis techniques used the Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) method with the SmartPLS (ver. 4.0) application. The results show that the three independent variables, namely service quality, access to information, and cost savings, have a positive effect on patient satisfaction. In addition, it was also found that patient satisfaction also has a positive impact on patient loyalty in choosing Bali as a dental tourism destination.

Abstract

Indonesia is a broad country with very diverse geographical conditions, causing disparity of its economic potential where less strategic regions had inadequate resources. This causes a gap in dental services quality that may affect patient satisfaction. Research in this field has been conducted in Java, but further analysis is required to determine factors influencing patient satisfaction outside Java. The aim of this study was to determine the influence of service quality, health literacy level, and service location on patient satisfaction who received dental care. The samples included were patients who receive dental treatment in healthcenter (puskesmas) in Karangasem Regency, selected using consecutive sampling techniques. Patients were asked to fill a questionnaire. In this study, a quantitative descriptive method using cross-sectional data collection is used and the obtained data were then processed using SmartPLS software. Service quality, health literacy level, and service location significantly influenced patient satisfaction. Patient satisfaction increases along with high quality of service, high levels of patient health literacy and participation, ease of access, and short travel distances to receive dental care.
