Abstract

This study is motivated by environmental pollution, with the transportation sector contributing significantly to global emissions. Electric vehicles (EVs) are considered an environmentally friendly solution, yet their adoption remains low in Indonesia. The main barriers include high prices, limited charging infrastructure, and consumer resistance to new technology. Psychological factors such as attitudes, personal norms, and environmental concern influence purchase intention, particularly among consumers with high environmental awareness. Government incentives are believed to strengthen consumers’ intention to purchase electric vehicles. This study aims to examine the effect of attitudes, personal norms, and environmental concern on the purchase intention of electric vehicles among potential consumers in Jakarta and Tangerang, with government incentives as a moderating variable. The sampling method used in this study is non-probability sampling with a convenience sampling approach. The study involved 225 respondents residing in Jakarta and Tangerang who have the potential to purchase electric vehicles within the next five years. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares – Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results show that attitudes and personal norms have a positive and significant effect on the intention to purchase electric vehicles, while environmental concern has a positive but non-significant effect. Additionally, government incentives do not moderate the influence of attitudes, personal norms, or environmental concern on purchase intention. The findings are expected to enrich the literature and serve as a reference for governments, producers, and consumers in supporting the adoption of electric vehicles.

Abstract

Despite being a popular destination, Riau Island's tourist numbers have declined as of April 2024, and remain lower than those of other Indonesian destinations. Therefore, prompt actions are needed to increase the number of visitors. Therefore, using the stimulus-organism-response (S-O-R) framework, this research delves into the intricate factors that mold individuals' propensity to revisit Riau Island. Employing a survey-centric methodology, an extensive dataset was scrupulously amassed from eligible participants through the deployment of digital questionnaires. Stringent criteria were implemented via purposive sampling, ensuring respondents had frequented Riau Island at least thrice in the preceding two years. The two-month duration of data collection yielded a robust dataset, encompassing a total of 154 responses. The analysis, executed using the Partial Least Squares (PLS) method in SmartPLS 4 software, validates the affirmative impact of both destination quality and destination source credibility on tourist satisfaction and the willingness to revisit. Furthermore, the results disclose that tourist satisfaction functions as a positive mediator in these relationships. This implies that the perceived destination quality and source credibility indirectly contribute to the probability of future visits by positively influencing the overall satisfaction of tourists. These findings not only enrich people’s understanding of the determinants influencing individuals' choices to revisit a destination, but also present valuable implications for enhancing destination management and marketing strategies, ultimately aiming to elevate the overall tourist experience. In essence, this study adds to a refined comprehension of the dynamics underlying repeat visitation behaviors, opening avenues for strategic interventions in the tourism sector.

Abstract

The current surge in the beauty industry is attributed, in part, to the public’s growing awareness of the importance of maintaining skin health. This is reinforced by the observation that people tend to show a heightened interest in skincare products that are both affordable and of high quality. However, this boon has created various competitions and challenges for skincare industry companies. One such challenge is the societal perception of men using skincare products. Additionally, intense industry competition strengthens the competitiveness of companies. Recently, one highly effective marketing strategy that can enhance consumer purchasing intent and trust is live streaming through e-commerce. This provides companies with the convenience of reaching a broader consumer base. Meanwhile, after obtaining information through live streaming, consumers reinforce this information with various recommendations obtained from their surroundings. Therefore, this research aims to identify the influence of live streaming in e-commerce and social influence on purchase intention, as well as to analyze the mediating role of brand trust. Research hypotheses are tested using Partial Least Square – Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with the assistance of Smart-PLS 4 software. Based on the results, it is revealed that one hypothesis is rejected, which pertains to the influence of live streaming in e-commerce on purchase intention. On other hand, social influence and brand trust successfully exert positive and significant influences on purchase intention. Furthermore, live streaming e-commerce and social influence significantly impact brand trust, and brand trust acts as a mediator between live streaming in e-commerce, social influence, and purchase intention.

Abstract

The pharmaceutical industry has emerged as one of the most rapidly expanding sectors globally, and this trend holds true for Indonesia as well. Within this industry, a notably popular type of medication in Indonesia is herbal medicine. This variant of medicine is derived from traditional and natural ingredients, with minimal incorporation of chemical substances. To delve into this phenomenon, the present study aims to identify the factors influencing Indonesians' inclination and intention to purchase herbal medicine. To achieve this, the study integrates key variables from the original Theory of Reasoned Action (TRA) framework, namely attitude and subjective norm, along with an additional element – perceived value. The methodology employed involves a survey-based approach, utilizing questionnaires as the primary data collection tool among the chosen participants. The sampling method chosen is non-probability purposive sampling, ensuring that only individuals who meet the predetermined criteria participate – specifically, individuals who have acquired herbal medicines within the past 6 months. Employing a 7-point Likert scale, a total of 156 data points were amassed. The analysis was conducted using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM), with SmartPLS 4 software being the designated tool. Through the scrutiny of the data, the authors conclude that attitude, subjective norm, and perceived value significantly impact consumers' intention to purchase herbal medicine in Indonesia.

Abstract

E-commerce has profoundly altered the shopping behaviors of consumers in Indonesia. Additionally, fintech companies have introduced "paylater" services, revolutionizing the payment process for online purchases. Paylater operates on a Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) system, allowing consumers to make purchases and defer payment. This innovation enhances the ease and security of online shopping, enticing users with enticing sales promotions. A survey targeting e-commerce users in Indonesia was conducted and subsequently analyzed using structural equation modeling (SEM - PLS). Employing a quantitative descriptive approach with a cross-sectional design, data was collected offline over 14 days in DKI Jakarta, Indonesia, yielding a final dataset from 122 respondents out of 210 obtained. Research outcomes revealed that sales promotion, subjective norms, and e-commerce live streaming features significantly influence impulsive buying behavior among consumers. The use of paylater services moderates this relationship, indicating that frequent paylater users tend to exhibit more impulsivity in their purchasing patterns. Despite the convenience offered by paylater services, there are associated risks such as debt accumulation and financial mismanagement. The findings of this research can serve as an educational tool for potential paylater users, encouraging responsible use and financial management. This research substantially contributes to the growth of fintech companies and micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), ultimately fostering economic development and providing a reference for future researchers exploring similar topics.

Abstract

High unemployment among Indonesian Vocational High School (VHS) graduates highlights a persistent gap between school-acquired competencies and labour market demands. To address this, fostering entrepreneurial intention during early education is essential. This study research expands the entrepreneurial intention framework to the vocational education context in Indonesia, where empirical evidence on the psychological and contextual factors influencing entrepreneurial intention among VHS students remains limited. Specifically, the study examines how internship experience and social valuation influence entrepreneurial intention, with self-efficacy as a mediating variable and entrepreneur education support as a moderating variable. Employing a quantitative design, data were obtained from 160 VHS students in DKI Jakarta who had completed internship programs. The analysis usedPartial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 4.0. The results show that internship experience and social valuation both increase self-efficacy, which has a strong effect on entrepreneurial intention. While internship experience does not directly lead to entrepreneurial intention, it influences it indirectly through selfefficacy. Social valuation affects entrepreneurial intention both directly and indirectly. The study also finds that entrepreneurial education support strengthens the effect of social valuation on entrepreneurial intention, but not the effect of internship experience or self-efficacy. The findings underscore the significance of social support and practical experience as essential components of entrepreneurial learning in vocational education to strengthen entrepreneurial intention among students.
