The scale was developed based on the Student Well-being Model and analyzed using the Rasch Model. This study involved 414 respondents who were Grade 5 or Grade 6 elementary school students in Malang city. Based on the analysis of the Rasch model, there are 19 items (out of 28 items) whose values meet the criteria for outfit MNSQ, outfit ZSTD, and point measure correlation. This scale has a dimensionality value of 42.9%, item separation of 6.93, and item reliability of 0.98, and the results of the DIF analysis showed no bias toward gender or class identity. Overall, it can be concluded that the Student Well-being in Elementary Schools scale has good psychometric properties, so it is suitable for measuring student well-being in Elementary Schools.

Abstract

The massive circulation of hoaxes on social media is currently a fairly complex problem in society. One simple way that is considered effective to reduce the rate of hoaxes is to not disseminate information without prior verification. Verification efforts with the aim of minimizing the impact of this hoax can be referred to as criticality. The term criticality is basically still quite new when compared to the term critical thinking. Criticality refers to the concept of critical thinking accompanied by a commitment to act based on socio-cultural values. The purpose of this study was to develop a criticality scale related to hoaxes on social media. The method used is quantitative involving 400 students from state universities in Malang City. The results of this study indicate that the criticality scale related to hoaxes developed has met the criteria of good validity and reliability.

Abstract

This study aims to reveal the effect of service learning on students' prosocial behaviour in boarding schools. A quantitative research approach with a quasi-experimental research design was used in this study. Researchers chose to use a non-equivalent pretest-posttest control group design, which is a design that measures the behaviour of the experimental group and control group before and after treatment. The population in this study were Santri Pondok Pesantren Sabilul Ihsan Pamekasan with the characteristics of boarding students and following the study of Kitab Bidayatul Hidayah. Total sampling was carried out because the population in the study was small, then grouped into experimental groups and control groups. The collected data were analyzed using analysis of covariance (ANOVA) with the SPSS 16 for Windows program. From the analysis that has been done, the results of this study indicate that (1) There are differences in the prosocial behaviour of boarding school students before and after the application of the service learning method in the experimental class. (2) The application of the service learning method is more effective than the bandongan method to improve the students' prosocial behaviour. The results found that service learning had a greater effect on the prosocial behaviour of boarding school students in the experimental group than the students in the control group. The application of service learning conducted in the experimental group was able to increase the prosocial behaviour of students with an effective contribution of 50.1 per cent.

Abstract

Previous studies have emphasized the influence of the school environment on students' prosocial behavior. However, few studies still concentrate on alternative mechanisms that contribute to developing students' prosocial behavior. This study aimed to investigate how moral identity plays a role as a mediator in the relationship between school climate and students' prosocial behavior in inclusive schools. A cluster random sampling technique was used to select participants. This study included 872 children attending inclusive schools in Surabaya City. The research instrument used a scale of moral identity (α=0.918), prosocial behavior (0.740), and school climate (0.889). Data were analyzed using structural equation modeling (SEM). The study's findings indicate a positive relationship between the overall school climate and the tendency of regular students in inclusive schools to engage in prosocial activities. This relationship is influenced by the role of moral identity as a mediator. These findings enhance our understanding of the importance of moral identity and have practical implications for intervention programs aimed at improving prosocial behavior among regular students in inclusive schools.

Abstract

This research explores the relationship between anxiety over math learning, the ability of time management, and emotional support on students' academic achievement among junior high school students in Indonesia. The data collected from 120 participants is assessed within a quantitative research design where surveys were administered using the 1-5 Likert scale. The tool to be used for analysis is known as structural equation modeling, partial least square-PLS3. The results indicated that math learning anxiety negatively impacts academic achievement, while time management ability and emotional support facilitate improvement in academic achievement. Both time management ability and emotional support act as mediators in the relationship between math learning anxiety and academic performance. These results highlight the need to reduce anxiety, develop time management skills, and build emotional support to improve students' academic performance. The study provides actionable insights for educators, parents, and policymakers in providing a supportive educational environment that ensures holistic student development.

Abstract

The increasing use of ICT and the tendency for media multitasking among students have raised concerns about their negative impact on attention and the challenges they pose to regulation strategies. This study aimed to adapt and validate the Indonesian version of the Online Learning Motivated Attention and Regulatory Strategies (OL-MARS v.2) scale among undergraduate university students. The OL-MARS v.2 is a 24-item scale measuring two main constructs: perceived attention problems (PAP) and self-regulatory strategies (SRS). PAP includes three subscales: perceived attention discontinuity (PAD), lingering thoughts (LT), and social media notifications (SMN), while SRS comprises behavioral strategies (BS) and outcome appraisal (OA). The scale was administered to 1,360 undergraduate students at a private university in Indonesia. Alpha coefficients for the total scores ranged from 0.463 to 0.800, indicating overall good to acceptable reliability, although the LT subscale showed the lowest alpha (0.463), which was acceptable but not ideal. Confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) was performed to evaluate the model fit. The OL-MARS v.2 shows potential as a valuable tool for assessing students' attention states and self-regulation strategies in online learning environments.

Abstract

Academic Engagement is an important concern considering that nursing students will be directly involved with patients and provide nursing care to patients directly. Ideally, undergraduate nursing students in the emerging adulthood phase have a high level of academic engagement. However, reality shows that there are still many students with relatively low levels of academic engagement. This will later have an impact on low academic achievement, low student competence, increased disengagement and increased drop out rates among students. Previous research results show that academic engagement is related to academic resilience and academic self-efficacy. Therefore, the aim of this research is to determine the influence of academic resilience and academic self-efficacy on the academic engagement of undergraduate nursing students. This type of research is correlational with a cross-sectional approach. The research sample was 312 undergraduate nursing students from STIKes Dian Husada Mojokerto with a sampling technique using stratified random sampling. Statistical analysis uses multiple linear regression. The research results show that academic resilience and academic self-efficacy influence the academic engagement of nursing students.
