Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan komunikasi matematis tulis siswa dalam mengerjakan soal cerita statistika. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian deskriptif. Subjek pada penelitian ini yaitu 20 siswa kelas IX SMPN 4 Pujon yang dipilih melalui hasil siswa mengerjakan soal matematika. Teknik yang digunakan untuk pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini yakni memberikan soal cerita statistika kepada 20 siswa kemudian melakukan analisis data dengan melihat kemampuan komunikasi matematis tulis siswa berdasarkan indikatornya. Kemudian mengelompokkan siswa menjadi tiga yang terdiri dari kemampuan komunikasi matematis tulis tinggi, kemampuan sedang, dan kemampuan rendah. Hasil pada penelitian ini yakni satu siswa mempunyai kemampuan komunikasi kategori sedang yang mana menuliskan jawaban kurang tersruktur. Empat siswa memiliki kemampuan komunikasi matematis kategori rendah yang menjawab soal tidak tersruktur dan menulis notasi matematika secara kurang tepat. Sebanyak 15 siswa memiliki kemampuan komunikasi matematis tulis kategori tinggi yang memenuhi semua indikator komunikasi. This study aims to describe students' written mathematical communication in working on statistical story questions. This research uses qualitative methods with descriptive research type. The subjects in this study were 20 students of class IX at SMPN 4 Pujon who were selected through the results of the students working on math problems. The technique used for data collection in this study was to provide statistical story questions to 20 students then analyze the data by looking at the students' written mathematical communication skills based on the indicators. Then group the students into three which consist of high written mathematical communication skills, moderate abilities, and low abilities. The results of this study were that one student had a moderate category of communication skills which wrote less structured answers. Four students have low category mathematical communication skills who answer unstructured questions and write mathematical notations incorrectly. A total of 15 students have high category written mathematical communication skills that meet all communication indicators.

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal HOTS geometri. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif. Penelitian dilaksanakan di SMPN 1 Madiun pada 32 siswa kelas IX H tahun ajaran 2020/2021. Selanjutnya, dipilih satu subjek pada masing-masing kategori yaitu kemampuan penalaran matematis tinggi, kemampuan penalaran matematis sedang, dan kemampuan penalaran matematis rendah untuk dilakukan analisis data dengan melihat kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa berdasarkan indikator; mengajukan dugaan, melakukan manipulasi matematika, memberikan alasan atau bukti dan menarik kesimpulan. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan tes dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa siswa yang mempunyai kemampuan penalaran kategori rendahmenuliskan jawaban dengan tidak tepat dan hanya memenuhi indikator penalaran matematis pertama yakni mengajukan dugaan. Siswa yang memiliki kemampuan penalaran matematis kategori sedang menjawab soal kurang lengkap dan memenuhi dua indikator penalaran matematis; mengajukan dugaan dan menarik kesimpulan. Siswa yang memiliki kemampuan penalaran matematis kategori tinggi menuliskan jawaban dengan tepat, lengkap dan memenuhi semua indikator penalaran matematis: mengajukan dugaan, melakukan manipulasi matematika, memberikan alasan atau bukti dan menarik kesimpulan.Kata kunci: Penalaran matematis; Soal HOTS, GeometriAbstract: This study aims to describe students' mathematical reasoning abilities in solving geometric HOTS problem. The method used is descriptive qualitative. The research was conducted at SMPN 1 Madiun on 32 students of class IX H for the 2020/2021 school year. Furthermore, one subject was selected in each category, namely high mathematical reasoning ability, medium mathematical reasoning ability, and low mathematical reasoning ability for data analysis by looking at students' mathematical reasoning abilities based on indicators; making conjectures, performing mathematical manipulations, providing reasons or evidence and drawing conclusions. Data collection techniques in this study used tests and interviews. The results of this study indicate that students who have low category reasoning abilities write answers incorrectly and only satisfy the first mathematical reasoning indicator, namely making conjectures. Students who have the medium category of mathematical reasoning write answer incomplete and satisfy two indicators of mathematical reasoning; making conjectures and drawing conclusions. Students who have high category mathematical reasoning abilities write answers accurately, completely and satisfy all indicators of mathematical reasoning: making conjectures, performing mathematical manipulations, providing reasons or evidence and drawing conclusions.Key words: Mathematical reasoning; HOTS Problem, Geometry

Abstract

 Pemahaman matematis merupakan tujuan pembelajaran matematika. Akan tetapi, berdasarkan studi literatur dan observasi lapangan, pemahaman matematis siswa masih rendah. Salah satu faktornya adalah kurangnya pembelajaran yang dapat mendukung pertumbuhan pemahaman matematis. Oleh karena itulah, peneliti melakukan penelitian dengan tujuan mengembangkan modul ajar berbasis Pirie Kieren yang valid, praktis, dan efektif untuk mendukung pertumbuhan pemahaman matematis. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan dengan menggunakan model Plomp yang meliputi tiga tahap yaitu fase pendahuluan, pengembangan, dan assesmen. Instrumen pada penelitian ini adalah lembar validasi, lembar observasi pembelajaran, dan soal tes. Teknik analisis rata-rata digunakan untuk menentukan kevalidan dan kepraktisan produk berdasarkan skor pada lembar validasi dan lembar observasi pembelajaran. Sementara itu, uji-t (independent samples) digunakan untuk menentukan keefektifan produk berdasarkan skor tes siswa. Uji coba modul ajar dilakukan kepada 30 siswa kelas X SMAN 08 Malang. Berdasarkan hasil uji coba, diperoleh bahwa modul ajar memenuhi kriteria valid dengan skor validasi diatas 3,7, memenuhi kriteria praktis dengan skor observasi pembelajaran diatas 3,6, dan memenuhi kriteria efektif dengan hasil uji-t independent samples yang menunjukkan adanya kenaikan signifikan antara skor pretest dan posttest. Meskipun demikian tetap dibutuhkan penelitian lebih lanjut untuk mengembangkan modul ajar dengan model/ metode berbeda serta melakukan analisis terhadap proses pertumbuhan pemahaman siswa.   Mathematical understanding is the goal of mathematics learning. However, based on literature studies and field observations, students' mathematical understanding is still low. One factor is the lack of learning that can support the growth of mathematical understanding. Therefore, researchers conducted research with the aim of developing valid, practical and effective Pirie Kieren-based teaching modules to support the growth of mathematical understanding. This research is development research using the Plomp model which includes three stages, namely the preliminary, development and assessment phases. The instruments in this research were validation sheets, learning observation sheets, and test questions. The average analysis technique is used to determine the validity and practicality of the product based on the scores on the validation sheet and learning observation sheet. Meanwhile, t-test (independent samples) is used to determine product effectiveness based on student test scores. The teaching module trial was carried out on 30 class X students of SMAN 08 Malang. Based on the trial results, it was found that the teaching module met the valid criteria with a validation score above 3.7, met the practical criteria with a learning observation score above 3.6, and met the effective criteria with independent sample t-test results showing a significant increase between the pretest and posttest scores. However, further research is still needed to develop teaching modules with different models/methods and to analyze the process of growing student understanding.

Abstract

Permasalahan pembelajaran matematika khususnya materi FPB dan KPK disebabkan karena banyak faktor salah satunya karakteristik dari matematika Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk; (1) Mengetahui keterlaksanaan pembelajaran pada pemahaman konsep FPB dan KPK melalui penerapan model PBL berbantu media Dakon-FK; (2) Mengetahui kemampuan pemahaman konsep konsep FPB dan KPK melalui penerapan model PBL berbantu media Dakon-FK. Penelitian ini merupakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan jenis pendekatan kualitatif. Alur penelitian mengacu pada model PTK yang dikembangkan oleh Kemmis & McTaggart yang terdiri dari; (a) Plan; (b) Act & Observation; (c) ReflectionMengacu data hasil penelitian disimpulkan beberapa hal yaitu: (1) Keterlaksanaan pembelajaran berada pada kategori baik. Dibuktikan dari persentase keterlaksanaan pembelajaran siklus I sebesar 77% menjadi 85%; (2) Adanya peningkatan rerata kelas pada pemahaman konsep materi FPB siswa dari siklus I ke siklus II sebesar 17 dan kenaikan ketuntasan klasikal sebesar 38%. Sedangkan hasil pemahaman konsep materi KPK sudah dinyatakan baik dan tuntas pada siklus I dengan rerata kelas sebesar 85 dan ketuntasan klasikal sebesar 90%.

Abstract

This study aims to describe students creative thinking abilities in solving open ended problems based on mathematical understanding abilities. This type of reasearch is a qualitative descriptive study. The subjects of this research were 6 seventh grade students of SMP Muhammadiyah 4 Malang selected based on their mathematical understanding abilities. Test and interview were employed to collect data. The results showed that aspect of fluency could be achieved by students with high, medium, and low mathematical understanding abilities. The aspect of flexibility could be achieved by students who have high and medium mathematical understanding abilities. Finally, the aspect of originality could only be achieved by students with high mathematical understanding abilities.

Abstract

Geometry and measurement affect our daily lives, both personal and sociocultural. Geometry is one of the contents in numeracy taught at every level of education. This study aimed to determine mathematics teachers' design of numeracy tasks using geometry and measurement content. Ninety-three math problems were collected from mathematics teachers in 31 Padang Pariaman districts, West Sumatra, Indonesia. Teachers were given problem-posing tasks and then asked to design numeracy tasks. To analyze, the tasks were classified as solvable or unsolvable and then further divided into context use level and cognitive process level domains. The numeracy context (personal, sociocultural, and scientific) was also analyzed. The study found that the tasks created had varying levels of context utilization, ranging from zero to second-order context. Most of the activities proposed were at the comprehension level, with just a tiny number designated as thinking functions in terms of cognitive processes. Some teachers' draft numeracy tasks in geometry content are discussed further.

Abstract

Traditional mentoring within teacher education often struggles with inconsistent interaction, vague feedback, and inefficient communication, which collectively hinder the professional growth of teacher candidates. The Insightful EducatorHub platform was developed to address these issues by leveraging a digital solution with real-time communication tools, structured feedback mechanisms, and collaborative spaces. This study aimed to improve mentoring collaboration through a research and development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model. The platform was tested with 30 teacher candidates, five mentor teachers, and five supervisors from five schools. Data were collected through pre- and post-implementation surveys and semi-structured interviews. Quantitative findings indicated a 35% increase in interaction frequency and a 40% improvement in participant satisfaction levels.  At the same time, mentors and supervisors recognized the platform’s utility in organizing tasks and consolidating mentoring processes. Although prosperous, the trial identified areas for refinement, including greater customization and advanced analytics to better suit diverse educational settings while demonstrating Insightful EducatorHub’s promise as an innovative tool for elevating mentoring practices and supporting the professional development of future educators.

Abstract

The quality of mentoring mentor teachers provide during the teaching practicum of pre-service teacher education programs significantly impacts the pedagogical competence of prospective teachers. The current study addresses the challenge of enhancing the quality of mentoring provided by mentor teachers in the teaching practicum of the Teacher Professional Education program in the Science Education Study Program at the State University of Malang. The research focuses on developing and implementing "Jelita-Lestari," an online journal system based on lesson study, to optimize the quality of mentoring. The system aims to provide a platform for mentor teachers to document their mentoring processes, track student progress, and publish articles related to their experiences, fostering reflective practice and knowledge sharing. Implementing Jelita-Lestari is expected to improve pedagogical competence among prospective science teachers by facilitating systematic mentoring and promoting a collaborative learning community among mentor teachers. The study underscores the importance of continuous professional development for mentor teachers and the potential of technology-enhanced tools in supporting effective mentoring practices. Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan bagaimana menumbuhkan kreativitas siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal matematika yang berkaitan dengan lingkaran dengan menggunakan Bansho. Adapun metode pembelajaran yang digunakan adalah pembelajaran pemecahan masalah terstruktur tiga tahap. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif jenis penelitian tindakan kelas. Subyek penelitian adalah siswa SMP Kristen Santa Maria 2 Malang kelas VIII A sebanyak 34 siswa. Subjek ini dipilih karena siswa memiliki kemampuan yang heterogen. Adapun kegiatan kajian berupa analisis terhadap kegiatan pembelajaran yang dilakukan sehingga menumbuhkan kreativitas siswa. Data yang digunakan berupa hasil observasi kegiatan pembelajaran dan hasil pekerjaan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal yang diberikan. Pelaksanaan kegiatan adalah bulan maret 2017. Hasil kajian ini menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran menggunakan bansho dapat menumbuhkan kreativitas dalam menyelesaikan soal matematika yang terlihat dari adanya solusi berbeda dalam menyelesaikan soal yang diberikan.

Abstract

Math problems require students to think critically in solving a problem. Metacognition leads to the ability to think critically and think at a higher level cognitive process in learning. This study aims to describe the characteristics of metacognition in group discussions on fraction material for grade 5 elementary school students. This type of research uses qualitative descriptive research. The data collection methods used in this research are observation, interview and documentation. The characteristics of students' metacognition can be obtained through observation when students discuss working on problems. Metacognitive activities of 5th grade elementary school students are classified into 3 namely awareness, regulation and evaluation. Students' metacognitive awareness is able to understand the problem and students are able to know what the next thing will be done after understanding the problem. Regulation students are able to choose the strategy that will be used to solve the problem and students are able to apply the chosen strategy to solve the problem. Evaluation students are able to check the answers that are done correctly and are able to ensure that the answers are correct. During group discussions, students are divided into 3 roles, namely students as experts, facilitators and beginners. During group discussion activities to solve problems, not all metacognitive activities appear in each student. Facilitators can influence beginners to be active in the discussion and expert students can help group mates to rethink what they have done before.
