Abstract

Essentialism is a philosophical school that emphasizes the existence of an essence or essential core in every object, concept, or entity. This school argues that every individual or entity has basic characteristics that determine its identity, which are independent of social context or external changes. Essentialist education includes science, art and everything related to human will. The aim of this research is to determine the influence and implications of essentialism in emphasizing local cultural values, the importance of basic knowledge, and character education which has a positive impact on students' development in facing the challenges of everyday life. The data collection method used was by collecting literature studies in the form of journals and interviewing elementary school teachers at Runiah School to gain a deep understanding of the implications of essentialism in the culture of education in elementary schools. The results of research on essentialism in education encourage the integration of cultural values, basic knowledge including subjects subjects such as mathematics, science, and language. The essentialism approach has a main focus on building student character. There are advantages and disadvantages to this essentialism school. Through this approach, students can develop positive attitudes and good behavior in everyday life while understanding and appreciating the cultural diversity around them and essentialism encouraging the integration of local cultural values, such as mutual cooperation activities, social responsibility, and respect for parents, into the educational curriculum.

Abstract

This study aims to look at the application of the school of idealism in education in Junior High School. This research uses the observation method with a focus on teachers' daily behavior, relationships with peers, and professional behavior. This research was conducted in one of the schools in Makassar. The results show that teachers in the school apply the school of idealism in their education. This can be seen from their daily behavior, where teachers in the school show behaviors that indicate that they have high spiritual and moral values. They also exhibit behaviors that show they care about others and the environment. In relationships with peers, teachers in these schools show harmonious relationships and support each other. They also share knowledge and experiences to improve the quality of learning. On teachers' professional behaviors, teachers in these schools exhibit behaviors that show they have a high commitment to education.

Abstract

A leader by definition is someone who has the ability to influence the behavior of others in their work by using authority. Leadership plays a crucial role in achieving the goals of an institution or organization. Responsible and trustworthy leadership can drive an institution or organization forward and foster its development. Many factors can influence an individual's performance. As an educational leader, one must be able to exert influences that motivate teachers or subordinates to carry out their duties effectively, thereby improving their performance. This study employs a qualitative descriptive approach. The method used involves reviewing journals related to educational leadership in elementary schools. Data collection comes from various sources, such as journals, books, and interviews, serving as references to gain an in-depth understanding of educational leadership in elementary schools. The leadership of the school principal is a key determinant of the successful realization of the functions and goals of national education. It is not solely the greatness of teachers that ensures success, but rather the principal who facilitates, enables, and drives teachers' performance, allowing them to fulfill their roles and unlock their potential for goodness and responsibility. There are four common leadership behavior patterns often referred to as leadership styles: instructive, consultative, participative, and delegative. The competencies that a school principal must demonstrate as a leader can be analyzed based on their personality, knowledge of educational staff, vision and mission of the school, decision-making ability, and communication skills.

Abstract

Schools as institutions must be open and adaptable to external changes in order to remain effective and sustainable especially in today's modern society where schools must function as both social and cultural systems. Through proper education, both individual and social aspects can develop in harmony, aligning with Indonesia’s motto —Unity in Diversity. Modern society is characterized by rational thinking, future-oriented perspectives, time consciousness, openness, and objective reasoning. Based on this background, this paper aims to examine schools as a system of social interaction. This study employs a qualitative approach, with data collected from relevant literature, including books, journals, and interviews. School is a concept with a dual meaning. First, it refers to a building or physical environment with all its facilities, serving as a place where a specific group of people undergoes a particular educational process. Thus, when we hear the word "school," what comes to mind is such a physical environment. This perception of school as a physical setting is reinforced by the relative uniformity in the design of buildings and facilities, making it possible to say that the physical conditions of schools of the same type and level are relatively similar.As a social system, a school is an accumulation of integral social components that interact and depend on one another. The microcosmic approach views a school as a world of its own, containing essential elements that define a society, such as leadership, governance, community members, rules, norms, and social groups.

Abstract

This article will discuss various theories of axiology and their application in various aspects of life, with the aim of providing a deeper understanding of how values shape our views of the world and guide our actions within society. Axiology is a branch of philosophy that studies values in human life, including moral, aesthetic, and other values that determine what is considered good, right, or beautiful. The main focus of axiology is to answer questions about the foundation and nature of values, as well as how we evaluate and establish what is valuable in everyday life. Throughout the history of philosophy, various schools of thought have developed, such as Aristotle’s view, which links values with virtue, and Kant’s view, which emphasizes the importance of universal moral principles in determining right actions. Axiology also involves the study of aesthetics, which examines judgments of beauty in art and nature. As time progresses, axiology has become increasingly relevant in addressing social and technological ethical issues, such as justice, freedom, and moral responsibility in the digital age.

Abstract

The development of media based on local wisdom in increasing the practicality of the elementary social studies learning process is a rare thing to do to overcome problems in the learning process. The reality found in the field is the lack of interest of students in participating in the learning process, this is the basis for developing a media in order to give birth to new innovations in a learning process in order to create active and fun learning so that students can develop abilities in understanding the material presented. taught. The purpose of this study was to develop media based on local wisdom in increasing the practicality of the elementary social studies learning process. This research is a development research using the ASSURE model (Analyze Learners; State Objectives; Select Methods, Media, and Materials; Utilize Media and Materials; Require Learner Participation; and Evaluate and Rivise). The practicality test is carried out after the development stage. The data collection technique in this study was using a questionnaire, namely a teacher response questionnaire and a student response questionnaire. Data validation was carried out by 3 validators, namely 2 expert validators in the field of social sciences and 1 practitioner validator. Practical analysis uses the results of teacher and student responses. Media is said to be practical if it is at a fairly practical level, namely at number 3 and if it is at number 4 it can be said to be very practical. Based on the results of the analysis, media based on local wisdom is stated to be quite practical,

Abstract

This thesis discusses the analysis of social sensitivity through a'maudu local culture a'maudu at SDN No. 101 Pattallassang Presidential Instruction, Pattallassang District, Takalar Regency. The formulation of the problem in this thesis are: 1) How is the social sensitivity formed in the implementation of local a'maudu culture at SDN No. 101 Pattallassang Presidential Instruction, Pattallassang District, Takalar Regency. 2) How are supporting faculties and inhibitors of the formation of social sensitivity in the implementation of local culture a'maudu at SDN No 101 Presidential Instruction Pattallassang, Pattallassang District, Takalar Regency. The objectives were : 1) To analyze the formation of social sensitivity in the implementation of local culture a'maudu at SDN No. 101 Pattallassang Presidential Instruction, Takalar Regency. 2) To analyze supporting factors and inhibiting for the formation of social sensitivity in the implementation of local culture a'maudu at SDN No. 101 Inpres Pattallassang, Takalar Regency. This study by the author applied, observation, and documentation methods. As for the analysis, qualitative descriptive analysis techniques, namely in the form of written or oral data from people and behavior observed so that in this case the author found out to conduct research that is through description of the actual circumstnces. In addition, the validity of the data in check applied triangulation, triangulation techniques and time triangulation. The results of this study showed that this form of social sensitivity consists of empathy, social care and building harmony. Supporting factors were parental support and teacher assistance in the classroom, while the inhibiting factors were the students' economic background and environmental influences. The implication or suggestion of this study were to always follow the implementation of local culture a'maudu that can form an attitude of sensitivity, social action and build harmony in schools so that our culture was not extinct become and still survives from time to time” .

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze multicultural education materials in social studies, to analyze the application or relationship between multicultural education in social studies and students' Bugis language behavior, and to analyze the supporting factors or the influence of multicultural education teaching and its application with Bugis language behavior at UPTD SPF SDN 277 Sarecoppeng, Soppeng Regency. Types and Approaches This research is a qualitative research by providing a clear and systematic description related to the object under study in order to provide valid information and data related to facts and phenomena in the field. Abstract

The development of character based modules for the practicality of the elementary social studies learning process is part of the efforts made to overcome learning problems. Facts obtained in the field, the learning process is directed at children's ability to memorize information without understanding the information obtained, so that the impact is unable to develop children's ability to think critically and systematically. The purpose of this research is to develop a character-based module for the elementary social studies learning process. This type of research and development uses a 4-D (Four-D) development model which consists of four stages, namely the definition stage, the design stage, the development stage, and the dissemination stage. The practicality test is carried out after the development stage. The data collection technique in this study was using a questionnaire, namely a teacher response questionnaire and a student response questionnaire. Data validation was carried out by 2 validators, namely expert validators in the field of social science and practitioner validators. Practical analysis uses the results of teacher and student responses. The module is said to be practical if it is at a fairly practical level, which is at number 3 out of 4 (very practical). The results of the analysis, the character-based module which is stated to be very practical, can be seen from the results of the teacher's response questionnaire and the student's response with an overall average score of 4 very practical, thus providing the development and application of the character-based module very practical because it can make it easier for teachers and students. learn in the learning process.

Pengaruh Model PBL(Problem Based Learning) terhadap Keterampilan Proses dan Hasil Belajar IPS SDN Bontojai.Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh adanya keluhan siswa terhadap pembelajaran yang selama ini dirasa sangat membosankan khususnya pada mata pelajaran IPS. Guru lebih menekankan pada hafalan dan pembelajaran rutin dengan mengandalkan buku paket, siswa kurang dididik untuk berpikir berdasarkan apa yang telah ia dapatkan dalam pembelajaran. Hal ini sangat mempengaruhi hasil belajar siswa terhadap materi yang diajarkan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan model pembelajaran problem based learning terhadap keterampilan proses dan hasil belajar IPS siswa pada tema pahlawan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian quasi eksperimen dengan menggunakan desain nonequivalent control group design. Subjek dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 56 siswa dengan populasi seluruh siswa SD Negeri Bontojai Kota Makassar. Teknik pengambilan sampel dilakukan secara purposive sampling atau sampel yang disengaja, sampel yang digunakan yaitu kelas IVA sebagai kelas eksperimen dan IVB sebagai kelas kontrol. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes uraian dan wawancara. Pengolahan data kuantitatif dilakukan dengan menggunakan bantuan software SPSS 20.0 for windows dengan melakukan uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, dan uji-t. Berdasarkan hasil pengolahan data diperoleh rata-rata nilai pretest kelas eksperimen 67,50 dan kelas kontrol 46,35. Nilai uji normalitas pretest yang diperoleh kelas eksperimen 0,009 dan kelas kontrol 0,083 untuk uji homogenitas pretest memiliki nilai signifikan 0,125. Rata-rata nilai posttest kelas eksperimen 90,71 dan kelas kontrol 79,61 normalitas posttest kelas eksperimen 0,229 dan kelas kontrol 0,282 sedangkan homogenitas posttest kedua kelas 0,563 dan untuk nilai uji-t posttest memiliki signifikansi 0,006. Hasil wawancara diperoleh jawaban positif siswa terhadap pembelajaran dengan menggunakan model problem based learning. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran dengan menerapkan model problem based learning dapat meningkatkan keterampilan proses hasil belajar IPS siswa terhadap materi pembelajaran.
