Abstract

User Experience Design at the State University of Malang encounters significant challenges in students' grasp of essential concepts such as Design Thinking, User Experience (UX), and User Interface (UI) design, primarily due to the lack of specialized learning resources. This study addresses these challenges by developing a Flipbook-based learning resource integrated with Problem-Based Learning (PBL) strategies, aiming to enhance student engagement and motivation. The research follows the Research and Development (R&D) method, utilizing the ADDIE model, which includes Analyze, Design, Development, Implement, and Evaluate phases. The resulting media, a UX Design flipbook with a .html extension, underwent rigorous validation. Material expert validation achieved a score of 81.90%, while media expert validation scored 87.82%, both categorized as very feasible. Furthermore, small and large group trials yielded very feasible ratings of 86.23% and 87.38%, respectively. The student interest test indicated a high score of 86.30%, reflecting very high student interest. These findings demonstrate that the developed media is well-suited as supplementary material in UX Design education, promoting a more interactive, engaging, and effective learning environment. This innovative approach holds promise for improving student understanding and interest in the UX Design course.

Abstract

This research highlights the significance of developing innovative learning media to enhance effective learning for class X Software Engineering (RPL) students at SMK Negeri 4 Malang. The study addresses the need to improve student engagement and deepen understanding of concepts, particularly in Control Structure and Branching material. The primary objective is to create an interactive and innovative Flipbook-based e-module as practicum media to support the learning process. Using the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, Evaluate), this research employs a systematic and structured approach in developing learning products. The Flipbook-based e-module achieved a feasibility score of 90% from material experts and 97.5% from media experts, indicating its high validity and feasibility. During the trial phase, the e-module obtained feasibility score of 89% from a small group and 90% from a large group, resulting in an average feasibility score of 89.5%. These findings demonstrate that the Flipbook-based e-module is highly suitable for implementation in the Vocational Basics subject for class X RPL students at SMK Negeri 4 Malang. Additionally, the small group test showed a student learning motivation score of 85.4%, while the large group test yielded 87%, with an average of 86.2%. This indicates that the developed product significantly supports students’ learning motivation, proving its high validity in improving engagement and understanding. These results affirm the Flipbook-based e-module is potential as an effective learning tool for vocational education.

Abstract

Poverty is a multidimensional issue that has a significant impact on social and economic development in Indonesia. Accurate analysis of poverty levels is essential to support government policies in distributing aid and planning targeted development programs. This study aims to classify poverty levels in Indonesia using the Naive Bayes algorithm based on machine learning, assisted by the RapidMiner Studio software. The dataset consists of 155 entries with 12 key attributes reflecting social and economic indicators, such as household expenditure, education level, unemployment rate, and the Human Development Index (HDI). The research follows the CRISP-DM methodology, which includes the stages of business understanding, data understanding, data preparation, modeling, evaluation, and deployment. The modeling results show that the Naive Bayes algorithm achieves an accuracy of 94.19%, with high precision and recall values, indicating consistent model performance in classifying poor and non-poor categories. These findings suggest that the Naive Bayes-based machine learning approach can serve as an effective analytical tool to understand poverty patterns in Indonesia. The implementation of this model is expected to assist the government in making data-driven decisions to improve the effectiveness of poverty alleviation programs.

Abstract

Metaverse, a combination of social media, gaming, and virtual reality technology innovation, is a new concept that has attracted the attention of various groups. This concept has also aided numerous groups of people, including the academician. As Metaverse offers various means to innovate, it is projected to change human lives and patterns of interaction. However, Metaverse also presents a number of negative impacts on mental health, even greater than the impacts of online games. This literature review aims to examine the impacts of the Metaverse on adolescents. Then, it develops the relevant preventive strategy through school guidance and counseling programs. This study is motivated by the lack of research related to the impact of Metaverse on adolescents’ mental health and intervention strategies. By applying the PRISMA steps, the study was conducted on scientific articles published from 2017 to 2022 extracted using Publish or Perish software. From the data collection process, we garnered and analyzed 25 relevant articles from ScienceDirect, SpringerLink, Sage Journals, Google Scholar, WoS, ProQuest, Taylor & Francis Group, Emerald Insight, DOAJ, and Garuda. Our analysis results showed that Metaverse potentially has negative impacts on adolescents, especially on non-cognitive aspects, such as social skills, empathy, self-esteem, self-control, and self-regulated learning. In addition, a basic guidance and counseling strategy using various approaches and techniques is required, particularly group guidance using information technology and social media to develop youth literacy about mental health in this metaverse era.
