Abstract

It is crucial to improve the shallot (Allium ascalonicum L.) cultivation system on peatlands to increase the growth and production of shallots. One is the provision of Biostimulants derived from Kirinyuh (Chromolaena odorata L.) extract. This study aimed to determine the effect of Kirinyuh (C. odorata) methanol extract on the growth and yield of shallot (A. ascalonicum) and to determine the best concentration and application time of Kirinyuh extract to increase the growth and yield of shallots. This research was conducted from September to December 2020 at the Biology Laboratory and Greenhouse Department of Biology, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Tanjungpura University, Pontianak. The study used a completely randomized (CRD) factorial pattern with two factors. The first factor was the concentration of Kirinyuh extract, which consisted of 5 treatments (0; 25; 50; 75, and 100 mg/L), and the second factor was application time which consisted of 2 treatments (1 week and two weeks). The results showed that the combination of Kirinyuh extract concentration and application time had a significant effect on wet shoot weight, dry shoot weight, tuber quantity, wet tuber weight, and tuber dry weight but had no significant effect on plant height, number of leaves, wet weight of roots, dry weight, root and tuber diameter. The concentration of Kirinyuh extract and the best application time was 100 mg/L with an application time of 2 weeks.

Abstract

The present study aims to optimize the processing variables producing liquid smoke from mabang wood (Shorea pachyphylla) by using Response Surface Methodology (RSM). In this investigation, a design of experiment with different combinations of pyrolysis temperature and pyrolysis time on the liquid smoke yield from mabang wood was applied. The response of the optimal yield, temperature, and time of pyrolysis was predicted using a mathematical model. The optimal operating conditions for the process of yielding 31.31% liquid smoke were identified at the pyrolysis temperature of 440◦C and pyrolysis time of 124 minutes. The effect of pyrolysis temperature was more significant than the pyrolysis time (p<0.05). The liquid smoke samples were evaluated by a GC-MS. The main chemical compound of the liquid smoke were 1,2-ethanediol (19.26%), fluoromethane (6.69%), formic acid (4.96%), 2-propanone (4.17%), acetic acid (18.64%), acetol (4.80%), furfural (9.94%), 2,4-hexadecanoic acid (3.45%), and guaiacol (2.93%).

Abstract

Paracetamol metabolism takes place in the liver mediated by CYP450 enzymes and generates NAPQI radicals. The NAPQI radical is highly electrophilic to hepatocyte biomolecules and is therefore capable of inducing liver damage. Laban tree bark (V. pubescens) methanol extract is known to contain antioxidant compounds of flavonoids, saponins, and tannins with an IC50 value of 19.83 g/ml. This study aims to determine the optimal dose of extract that can improve the liver microanatomy of mice induced by toxic dose of paracetamol (TDP). This study used 30 male Swiss strain mice with a body weight of 20-30 g. The treatments given consisted of negative control (paracetamol 105 mg kg-1), positive control (vitamin E 46.8 mg kg-1), and laban extract at a dose of 75; 150; 300; 600 mg kg-1 BW. Liver microanatomy parameters measured included hepatocyte diameter (19.50±0.21 µm), sinusoids (4.39±0.23 µm), and central vein (36.84 ± 1.79 µm). Data were analyzed using one-way ANOVA and Duncan's Multiple Range Test further test was then presented in the form of mean ± standard deviation. The results showed that extract at a dose of 600 mg kg-1 had hepatocyte, sinusoid, and central vein diameters that were not significantly different (p>0.05) with vitamin E.

Abstract

The content of protein, fiber, vitamins, and fat contained in mustard greens (B. juncea) is the main attraction for people to consume vegetables. Green mustard plant growth using hydroponic media can help optimize the absorption of nutrients needed by plants. The application of the floating raft hydroponic method with the addition of liquid organic fertilizer from tofu liquid waste is an effort that is expected to overcome this problem. This research to determine the impact and concentration of POC tofu liquid waste which has the best impact on the growth of green mustard plants. Use of RAL with 6 levels of treatment, namely P1=0%POC; P2 = 35%POC; P3 = 40%POC; P4 = 45%POC; P5 = 50%POC; P6 = 55%POC. Data were analyzed using ANOVA with a 95% confidence level. The application of liquid organic fertilizer significant impact on measuring plant height, number of leaf blades, leaf surface area, root shoot wet weight, root shoot dry weight, and chlorophyll. The best liquid organic fertilizer treatment of tofu waste was the concentration of 55% for plant height (31.72 cm), number of leaves (13.50), leaf area (1287 mm), crown wet weight (65.95 g), wet weight root (2.97 g), shoot dry weight (37.8 g), root dry weight (1.25 g), chlorophyll a content (24.74 mg/g), b (30.54 mg/g) and total (52.40 mg/g).

Abstract

Suku Dayak Bakati merupakan sub suku yang tersebar di wilayah Kabupaten Sambas, Kabupaten Bengkayang hingga di Lundu Serawak. Masyarakat Suku Dayak Bakati masih memiliki kepercayaan yang kuat terhadap nenek moyang dalam memberikan perlindungan hingga penyembuhan penyakit yang melalui ritual adat yang dilakukan secara turun temurun. Ritual Balenggang merupakan jenis pengobatan yang biasa dilakukan oleh masyarakat Dayak Bakati. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui jenis dan bagian tumbuhan yang dimanfaatkan dalam ritual Balenggang. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Desa Kalon, Kecamatan Seluas, Kabupaten Bengkayang dari bulan Juni hingga september 2022. Metode penelitian yang digunakan observasi secara tidak langsung. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah wawancara dengan responden berjumlah 10 orang. Penentuan responden dengan teknik snowball sampling. Hasil penelitian ini diperoleh 25 jenis tumbuhan dari 18 famili. Famili yang paling banyak yaitu Poaceae (4 jenis) dan Arecaceae (3 jenis). Bagian tumbuhan yang paling banyak digunakan adalah daun (44%) yang dimanfaatkan secara langsung (tidak diolah). Nilai RKI (Rasio Kesepakatan Informan) tertinggi (0,800) dengan kategori pemanfaatan tumbuhan sebagai pemulihan. The Dayak Bakati tribe is a sub-tribe spread across Sambas Regency, Bengkayang Regency until Lundu Sarawak. The people of Dayak Bakati still have a strong belief in their ancestors who are believed to be able to provide protection to cure diseases suffered by the community through traditional rituals that have been been carried out for generations. The Balenggang ritual is a type of treatment commonly carried out by the Dayak Bakati community. This study aims to determine the types and parts of plants used in the Balenggang ritual. This research was conducted in Kalon Village, Seluas District, Bengkayang Regency, from June to September 2022. The research method used is indirectly with the data collection techniqueused was an interview with 10 respondents determind by snowball sampling technique. The results of this study obtained 25 plant species from 18 families, in which the most numerous families were Poaceae (4 species) and Araceae (3 species). The most widely used parts of the plant is the leaves (44%) which are used directly (unprocessed. Abstract

Sengkubang Village is a mangrove area located in Mempawah Hilir District, Mempawah Regency, West Kalimantan. Sengkubang Village already has a Coastal Community Group that cares about the preservation of mangroves. However, community empowerment still needs to cover women's communities. Most women in Sengkubang Village work as housewives or help their husbands with the gardens. The implementation of community service focuses on empowering the women of Sengkubang Village by providing skills based on natural wealth and plantation products around their residences. Through this skills training, it is hoped that women will be able to fill their spare time by producing banana flour and brownies made from banana flour which are of the sale value. The method of implementing PKM is through short skills training, and participants can bring home their work. The evaluation of PKM activities was carried out using the questionnaire method at the end of the training. The training results showed the enthusiasm of the women's group from the Pelesir community in making banana flour and brownies made from banana flour. 100% of participants strongly agreed that the theme and training could develop their potential to increase their income and daily activities. Subsequent developments will include product marketing assistance through social media and e-commerce.

Abstract

Adanya Permen PANRB Nomor 16 Tahun 2009 Tentang Jabatan Fungsional Guru dan Angka Kreditnya menjadi motivasi tersendiri bagi para guru untuk meningkatkan kompetensi diri dan menghasilkan publikasi karya ilmiah. PkM berupa pelatihan diberikan kepada guru SMA di Kabupaten Bengkayang oleh tim PkM FMIPA Universitas Tanjungpura dengan tujuan meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterampilan guru dalam membuat karya tulis ilmiah terutama untuk pencarian referensi yang relevan, serta praktik penggunaan software mendeley guna otomatisasi daftar pustaka, sehingga karya tulis ilmiah yang dihasilkan dapat berkualitas. Pelaksanaan PkM dilakukan secara sistematis, mulai dari survei permasalahan, perumusan solusi, pelaksanaan pelatihan, dan evaluasi. Evaluasi dilakukan sebanyak 2 kali, yaitu sebelum dan setelah materi pelatihan disampaikan, dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui ada atau tidaknya pemahaman peserta pelatihan. Berdasarkan hasil evaluasi didapatkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman peserta pelatihan dalam penulisan karya tulis ilmiah dan penggunaan software mendeley sebesar 18,5%, yaitu dari 53,5% menjadi 72%.

Abstract

The increase in consumption needs for soybeans makes the production level must be optimal. The quality production of soybean plants requires nutrients to increase growth. The need for soybeans in West Kalimantan is increasing yearly, but its growth on peat soils is still not optimal. This study aims to determine the effect of liquid organic fertilizer (POC) from the banana hump on soybean plants' growth and the concentration that produces the best growth. This research method used a completely randomized design (CRD) with six treatments and four replications, so there were 24 treatments. The concentrations used in this study were 0 ml/L, 40 ml/L, 80 ml/L, 120 ml/L, 160 ml/L and 200 ml/L. The data was analyzed using one-way ANOVA with Duncan's further test. Parameters significantly different in this study were plant height, number of leaves, number of branches, shoot weight, and dry weight. The concentration that produced the best growth was 160 ml/L.

Abstract

The plant of Bajakah tampala (Spatholobus littoralis Hassk) has been utilized in traditional medication. Previous studies have proven the existence of in vivo anti-inflammatory activities of Bajakah plant (S. littoralis) in lowering the degree of carrageenan-induced paw oedema in mice. This study aims to determine the anti-inflammatory mechanism of S. littoralis extract in vitro through an approach of enzyme inhibition involved in the inflammatory reaction. The concentration of ethanol extract of Bajakah used was 0.1; 0.2; 0.4; 0.8; 1.6 mg/ml. The parameters measured were lipoxygenase enzyme inhibition, protein denaturation inhibition, protease enzyme inhibition, as well as plasma membrane stabilization. The results of the study showed the potential of the ethanol extract of Bajakah stems in inhibiting the inflammatory process viewed from the ability to inhibit inflammation-related enzymes. S. littoralis extract concentration of 1.6 mg/ml showed the best inhibition of the protein denaturation process (75.9%), the inhibition of trypsin protease enzyme (26.1%) and the stability of erythrocyte membrane (93.7%). However, the extracts of S. littoralis did not provide inhibition for the lipoxygenase enzyme in the range of 0.2-3.8%. This study proves the role of S. littoralis extract in the anti-inflammatory mechanism. It has the potential to be developed into standardized herbs.

Abstract

Kompetensi guru merupakan keandalan yang harus dimiliki oleh seorang guru untuk mengatasi permasalahan yang dihadapi dan memenuhi apa yang menjadi kebutuhannya. Peningkatan kompetensi wajib dilakukan oleh seorang guru sehingga guru dapat beradaptasi dengan perubahan yang ada, baik perubahan peraturan, teknologi, maupun kondisi sosial, selain itu karena mengingat peran guru yang menjadi agent of change. Salah satu peningkatan kompetensi yang harus dipenuhi oleh seorang guru adalah pengembangan diri dalam membuat karya tulis ilmiah yang bersumber dari penelitian, dan kemudian dipublikasikan sehingga dapat memberikan manfaat. Banyak manfaat yang dapat diterima oleh seorang guru atas publikasi yang dibuat seperti keberlanjutan profesi guru dalam jenjang karir, sebagai inspirasi bagi guru-guru lain dan contoh baik bagi peserta didik. Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM) Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam (FMIPA) Universitas Tanjungpura dilakukan untuk memberikan insight positif dan tambahan pengetahuan bagi guru-guru SMA di Kabupaten Bengkayang, Kalimantan Barat. PKM yang dilakukan bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kapasitas guru dalam menghasilkan karya ilmiah yang sebelumnya menjadi kendala bagi sekelompok guru tingkat SMA di Kabupaten Bengkayang. Terdapat tiga sesi dalam PKM ini pertama yaitu penyampaian materi tentang teknik penelusuran literatur, kedua teknik penulisan sitasi dan daftar pustaka, dan terakhir teknik mengindari plagiasi. Secara keseluruhan PKM yang dilakukan oleh FMIPA Universitas Tanjungpura berjalan dengan lancar, dibuktikan dengan antusiasme peserta PKM melalui tanya jawab dan menghadiri kegiatan PKM secara sempurna.
