Abstract

One habit that is commonly practiced by two out of three adult men in Indonesia is smoking, but this behaviour has the potential to cause chronic diseases. The Indonesian government has made various efforts to reduce the number of smokers in Indonesia. One of the efforts is to establish a Smoking Cessation Clinic in primary and referral health care facilities. This study uses qualitative research methods with descriptive phenomenological approach. This research was conducted in 4 smoking cessation clinics in Denpasar; Puskesmas I Denpasar Utara, Puskesmas I Denpasar Barat, Puskesmas I Denpasar Selatan, and Puskesmas I Denpasar Timur. Based on interviews and observations conducted by 4 respondents/participants, 3 big themes were founded, they were experience of the smoking cessation program in Denpasar, obstacles during the implementation of the smoking cessation clinic and suggestions for improving the implementation of the smoking cessation clinic. Participants perceive their understanding of the implementation of the smoking cessation clinic as a means to attract smokers who come to the Puskesmas for medical treatment and are then given information about the existence of a smoking cessation program. In this program counselling is given about the dangers of smoking so they want to stop smoking. The difficulties pf implementating the smoking cessation clinic is the lack of people who are willing to come to the smoking cessation clinic, a need to socialize the existence of a smoking cessation clinic and redirecting those who went to other polyclinics to visit the smoking cessation clinic. Keywords : Smoke, Smoking Cessation Clinic

Abstract

Every health facility, whether it is primary, secondary, tertiary, is required to organize medical records in order to achieve administrative order. Completeness of medical records is very important because it affects the service process provided by health workers and has an impact on the quality of service in a hospital. This study aims to determine the completeness of filling in inpatient medical records on the quality of medical records. This study uses a literature review method. Search strategy using Google Scholar. The keywords used were incomplete filling of inpatient medical records and the quality of medical records. Search results obtained 180.000 article according to keywords. Then the article obtained were filtered based on full text and publication date 2015 – 2020, found 44.700 articles. Of the 44.700 articles reviewed related to titles that were deemed appropriate and obtained 18, then these 18 articles were screened based on inclusion and exclusion criteria and obtained 5 articles. As a whole, the cause can be seen from the lack of knowledge, motivation and awareness of medical personnel about medical records. The meeting as a means of communication between caregivers and management has not yet been implemented to discuss evaluation and monitoring as well as sanctions for officers who do not complete medical records. Lack of socialization on filling out medical records. Unsystematic arrangement of medical records forms. Limited availability of funds or budget to support medical record service activities.

Abstract

Lead (Pb) is a heavy metal that naturally occurs in the Earth's crust or is produced by human activities, such as emissions from motor vehicle engines. According to the Decree of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia Number 1406/MENKES/SK/IX/2002 regarding the examination of lead levels in human biomarker specimens, lead levels in the human body can be measured through blood, urine, and hair samples. This study aims to measure lead levels in the urine of active smokers. The results show that the wet digestion method using HNO3 has an accuracy with an average recovery rate of 79.56%. Meanwhile, the wet digestion method with the addition of H2SO4 to HNO3 has an average recovery rate of 53.86%. The precision test shows that the percent Relative Standard Deviation (% RSD) for the digestion method with HNO3 is 7.456%. When H2SO4 is added to HNO3, the % RSD value obtained is 5.047%. The linearity test (r) shows a value of 0.999. The Limit of Detection (LoD) for HNO3 is 0.76, while the LoD for the mixture of HNO3 and H2SO4 is 0.56. Based on the verification results, the wet digestion method for measuring lead levels in the urine of active smokers does not meet the acceptability criteria. This indicates that the method is not valid for use in examining lead levels in the urine of active smokers

Abstract

Healthcare services must continuously be improved to provide the best care for the community. Patient satisfaction is the result of patients' evaluations of healthcare services, comparing their expectations with the actual healthcare services received in a hospital setting. Patient satisfaction with laboratory services is not solely determined by the availability of sufficient healthcare personnel but also requires strong commitment and dedication from healthcare workers to provide professional services, supported by adequate facilities and medical equipment. This study aims to assess the level of outpatient satisfaction with laboratory services at RSUD Klungkung. The research employs an observational method with a cross-sectional design. Data collection was conducted using questionnaires, with a sample of 97 respondents selected through purposive sampling. The data analysis in this study was performed using the Chi-Square test. Based on the five service quality dimensions—reliability, responsiveness, assurance, empathy, and tangibles—the results showed a p-value < 0.05. Among these dimensions, responsiveness had the lowest p-value (0.005 < 0.05), indicating its stronger influence. These findings conclude that there is a significant relationship between service quality dimensions and the level of outpatient satisfaction with laboratory services at RSUD Klungkung. Furthermore, the responsiveness dimension, which had the lowest p-value compared to the other four dimensions, indicates that it has the most significant impact on patient satisfaction with laboratory services provided by the staff at RSUD Klungkung.

Abstract

Congenital hypothyroidism (CH) is an endocrine disorder that can cause developmental delays if not detected and treated early. Congenital Hypothyroidism Screening (CHS) aims to detect abnormal levels of Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH) in newborns before clinical symptoms appear. The timing of blood sample collection is a critical factor because TSH levels physiologically surge within the first 24 hours of life. This study aims to determine the accuracy of TSH sampling time in CH screening at Prima Medika General Hospital, Denpasar. A descriptive analytical method was used with a total sampling technique involving 105 neonates who underwent CHS from October to December 2024. Secondary data were obtained from laboratory request forms and the Laboratory Information System (LIS). Results showed that 92.4% of samples were collected on the second day of life, which aligns with the ideal window of 48–72 hours, and only 1.9% of neonates had elevated TSH levels. The study concludes that most sample collections met the recommended timing, contributing to valid results and effective CHS implementation. Timely sampling plays a vital role in early CH detection and reflects the overall quality of neonatal laboratory services.
