This study is a quasi-experimental research, which aims to examine the achievement and improvement of problem-solving skills of mathematics and the independence of junior high school students learning through a realistic approach. The population in this study is all students of class VIII SMPN 4 Subang. Samples were taken by random class, obtained two classes of class VIII H as the experimental class and VIII.F as control class. The instrument in this study is a set of mathematical problem-solving test and a set of learning independence scales. The study found that the achievement and improvement of students' mathematical problem-solving ability and the independence of student learning whose learning using realistic learning are better than that of learning using ordinary learning in terms of the initial ability level of students. There is an interaction of mathematical problem-solving abilities between students whose learning uses a realistic approach with a student's initial ability level. Meanwhile, there is no interaction between realistic learning with the level of initial ability of students in generating student self-reliance. Besides, there is no association between mathematical problem solving ability and student learning independence, both in class that use realistic and classroom learning using ordinary learning. The picture of student's performance during realistic learning is more active, it shows the involvement of students both individually and in collaboration with the group, so that it can improve the problem solving ability of mathematics as well as student's learning independence. The description of the students' difficulties in solving the problem of mathematical problem solving ability lies in the indicator about number 5 which is about making the mathematical model because of the lowest percentage indicator.

This study aims to examine whether improving students' mathematical reasoning abilities that get learning by using a realistic mathematics education approach is better than students who get open ended learning. Method in this research is experiment method by using 2 sample. The sample was taken randomly, that is class VIII-C as a class that get learning by using realistic mathematics education approach, and class VIII-B as a class that get open ended learning. Instrument in this research is a test instrument in the form of description consists of 8 given problem in the form of pretest and postes, then the data of students' mathematical reasoning scores were analyzed by using the normality test of both groups then tested the homogeneity of two variance and the significance test of the difference of two averages. The final result of this study with a significance level of 0.05 concluded that the improvement of capability the mathematical reasoning of students who get learning by using a realistic mathematics education approach is better than students who get open ended learning.

This study aims to develop teaching material in the form of a mathematics learning module on SPLDV material and to improve students' metacognitive abilities and also students' learning independence. This research was conducted in four junior high schools as a place for the initial field test, the main field test, and the operational field test. The indicator of the success of this research is seen from the level of validation given by the validator, namely material experts and media experts of 75%. As for the success of learning, it can be seen from the significance obtained from the statistical test results from the results of the metacognitive ability test and student learning independence questionnaire. The results of this development research showed that: 1) The results of the validation test of the two experts found that the teaching materials developed were in good classification with a percentage of 89.4% for material experts and 83.3% for media experts. This means that the teaching materials meet the classification to good practice and implementation. So it is feasible to use and be tested. 2) At the product trial stage, students' responses to the teaching materials were quite good with a percentage of 81.28% for the initial field trial and 83.01% for the main field test. Student responses to learning using the teaching materials that were developed also had good criteria at the time of operational trials with a percentage of 78%, 3) from the results of statistical tests with a significance level of 0.05, metacognitive abilities, and student learning independence using the developed teaching materials had increased. significant. This research was motivated by the problem of the low abilities of elementary students to understand mathematical understanding and self-regulated learning (SRL). The purpose of this study was to examine the mathematical understanding ability and SRL of elementary school students who received learning using the Snowball Throwing approach. The research method is a quasi-experimental with the population of all students in private elementary schools in Karawang district. The sample subjects were two classes of fourth grade elementary school students in Karawang, totaling 44 students. The first class with 22 students receive the snowball throwing learning approach and the other 22 students receive regular learning. The instrument used in this research were a test of the mathematical understanding ability on the flat shape material, that consist of 5 essay questions and a self-regulated learning scale that consist of 30 statements. The results showed that the enhancement in the mathematical understanding ability of elementary school students who received learning with the snowball throwing approach was better than the reguler learning, while for Self-Regulated Learning students who received learning using the snowball throwing approach there was no significant difference with students who received regular learning. This research is purposed to see the effect of a Contextual Approach in improving not only students’ understanding and communication ability but also their self-reliance in learning mathematics. The method used in this research is quasi-experiment with non-equivalent control group design. This research has been carried out at one junior high school in Cianjur with all of its ninth classes as the population. Out of these classes, two classes are taken as the samples, namely the experimental class and the control class. The Instrument used in this research is a set of tests to evaluate the students’ mathematical communication and understanding skills which have been tested beforehand. The data are obtained through the exposure of these mathematical understanding and communication skills tests. In processing the data, t-test, two-lane ANOVA, and regression have been administered. The result of the research shows that the students' mathematical understanding and communication in experiment class have improved and are better than the control class. The result has also shown that there is not any relationship between mathematical understanding skill and learning self-reliance. Background of this research is still low ability of communication of mathematics and self efficacy of first middle school student. The purpose of this study is to improve the ability of mathematical communication and self efficacy of junior high school students whose learning using inductive approach in comparison with using ordinary learning in review of the student's early mathematical ability. The research method that is taken is quasi experiment. Data collection techniques in this study using quantitative techniques in the form of pretest, postes and n-gain of mathematical communication skills and self efficacy. The result of the research is that there is a difference in the improvement of mathematical communication ability of junior high school students whose learning using inductive approach with the learning using conventional approach and, there is no difference of self efficacy of junior high school students whose learning using inductive approach with the learning using conventional approach. This study aims to examine the achievement and improvement of the ability of mathematical connections and confidence of students through problem-based learning model. The population in this study is all students of 7th grade from one of SMP Negeri in Bandung. Samples were taken at random class. Among the eleven classes, two classes were selected as an experimental class (VII-K) and a control class (VII-B). The research instruments consist of a test instruments (math connection ability) and a non-test instruments. The instrument in the form of test is a set of test questions to measure students' mathematical connection ability. While non-test instruments in the form of a scale of students' self-confidence, and the scale of student opinions on problem-based learning. Research shows that the achievement and improvement of the ability of mathematical connections and confidence of students whose learning using problem-based learning model there is a difference with the learning using ordinary learning in terms of the initial ability level of students. There is no interaction between the problem-based learning model and the student's initial ability level to generate mathematical connections and students' self-confidence. This study aims to examine the achievement and improvement of the ability of understanding and mathematical reasoning and motivation through Think Talk Write (TTW) approach to junior high school students. The population in this study is all junior high school in West Bandung Regency and the sample is class VIII of SMPS Darun Nasya, The instrument used in the research is a question of understanding and mathematical reasoning and questionnaire of learning motivation attitude, then the data obtained is processed through a two-way ANOVA test and correlation and regression test, data processing using IBM Statistics SPSS 21. Results of research involving TTW as independent variables in the experimental class and direct learning in the control class showed: There was a difference in achievement and improvement of mathematical understanding between control and experiment class, There are differences in achievement and improvement of mathematical reasoning between control and experiment class, There is difference of student's learning motivation between control and experiment class.

Secara umum, tujuan jangka panjang program pengabdian ini adalah mengembangkan suatu proses pengabdian melalui penyuluhan bagi guru-guru SD dalam upaya menumbuhkan kesadaran lingkungan kepada guru-guru SD di sekitar Sungai Citarum tentang hakekat sains dalam pembelajaran. Adapun target khusus yang ingin dicapai adalah meningkatkan pemahaman dan kesadaran lingkungan serta pemahaman strategi dan pendekatan pembelajaran yang mungkin dilakukan guru-guru SD mengenai pentingnya pelestarian lingkungan melalui konteks lingkungan di sekitar Sungai Citarum yang dikaitkan dengan hakekat sains untuk pembelajaran SD. Metode pelaksanaan pada kegiatan pengabdian ini dikelompokan menjadi empat tahap kegiatan yaitu tahap persiapan terdiri dari kegiatan observasi, pelaksanaan terdiri dari kegiatan penyuluhan, evaluasi terdiri dari kegiatan mengevaluasi kegiatan, dan penyelesaian terdiri dari kegiatan penyusunan laporan dan publikasi luaran kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat. Hasil dari kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini yaitu guru-guru memahami mengenai pentingnya pelestarian lingkungan melalui konteks lingkungan di sekitar Sungai Citarum yang dikaitkan dengan hakekat sains, terwujudnya kesadaran guru-guru SD akan pentingnya pelestarian lingkungan serta  guru-guru SD memahami strategi dan pendekatan pembelajaran yang mungkin dilakukan, yang menjadi dasar untuk menumbuhkan kesadaran mengenai pentingnya pelestarian lingkungan dikaitkan dengan pembelajaran di SD.

Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat adalah salah satu bagian dari tridharma perguruan tinggi. Oleh karena itu, menjadi suatu kewajiban bagi setiap dosen dan sivitas akademika lainnya untuk terlibat dalam program pengabdian kepada masyarakat. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini dilaksankan di desa adat Senaru Kecamatan bayan Kabupaten Lombok utara dengan tujuan jangka panjang program pengabdian ini adalah mengembangkan suatu pembelajaran ekstrakulikuler dengan pendampingan berbasis kearifan lokal bagi anak-anak usia SD. Secara khusus, tujuan yang ingin dicapai sebagai berikut: (1). Meningkatkan motivasi belajar anak-anak SD di Desa adat Senaru; (2). Melestarikan kearifan lokal Desa adat Senaru. Metode yang akan dipakai dalam upaya pencapaian tujuan tersebut memalui pendampingan berbasis kearfian lokal yang langkah-langkahnya terdiri dari: (1). mengkaji kearfian lokal; (2). mempersiapkan materi yang sesuai dengan usia SD khusunya mata pelajaran matematika dan bahasa Indonesia; (3). Melakukan pendampingan berbasis kearifan lokal; (4). Melakukan refleksi dan terkait proses pendampingan; (d). Evaluasi kegiatan pendampingan berbasis kearifan lokal. Hasil dari pengabdian ini terdapat peningkatan motivasi belajar siswa
