Abstract

The new normal period makes ICT-based education the spearhead of the implementation of learning. This becomes an obstacle and a challenge for students, especially in the mathematical problem-solving ability (MPSA), which is very important for students because it is a prior mathematical ability and is included in HOTS. Self-regulated learning in mathematics (SRL) also has a significant role in adapting to learning in the new normal and influences students' mathematical learning outcomes. However, the facts on the ground show that these two abilities are still low. To solve this problem, the researchers developed VBA Microsoft Word-based teaching materials on the relevant polyhedron materials for use so that learning would be more optimal. The method used in this research is an experimental method with a pretest-posttest control group design. The population is all the students in Cimahi City, while the sample is two classes randomly selected. This study indicates that VBA Microsoft Word-based teaching materials are appropriate to be applied in the new normal period, as indicated by the results of the achievement and improvement of MPSA and SRL of students is better than ordinary learning. There is an association between MPSA and SRL and positive response even though they still have difficulty making mathematical models on MPSA questions. Students are more enthusiastic in learning and don't get bored quickly; in line with the challenges of the new normal, the industrial revolution 4.0, and the learning curriculum, learning is more structured, interactive, effective, and efficient.

Abstract

This study explores how social-emotional development in early childhood can be meaningfully enhanced through a culturally grounded, play-based extracurricular program. Specifically, it examines the impact of Prasiaga, a structured scouting-inspired model, on improving emotional regulation, autonomy, peer collaboration, empathy, and emerging leadership among children enrolled in a formal early childhood institution. Using an explanatory sequential mixed methods approach, this research was conducted at a playgroup center in Indonesia with ten participants. Quantitative data were collected through pre- and post-intervention observations across nine indicators of social-emotional competence. Qualitative data were gathered via educator interviews and visual documentation to contextualize and deepen understanding of behavioral changes. The results demonstrate a substantial increase in the emergence of targeted competencies, rising from 28.9% before the intervention to 85.6% afterward. Children showed marked gains in confidence, task independence, peer engagement, and affective expression. Educators reported improvements in classroom dynamics, including higher learner motivation and spontaneous collaborative behaviors. While leadership indicators improved modestly, subtle expressions of initiative suggest developmental momentum requiring sustained practice. The triangulation of quantitative, narrative, and visual data affirms the reliability and educational significance of these findings. This research provides empirical validation for integrating Prasiaga within national early childhood curricula. The findings position Prasiaga not as a supplementary activity but as a vital foundation for character education in early learning. By emphasizing moral formation, interactive play, and culturally resonant pedagogy, the program supports both immediate behavioral improvements and long-term developmental resilience. Future research should investigate longitudinal outcomes and program scalability to inform policy and practice in broader contexts.

Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of the STAD (Student Teams Achievement Divisions) cooperative learning model in improving literacy and numeracy outcomes among adult learners in non-formal education settings, specifically in the Paket B program at PKBM Ibnu Ahmad, South Kalimantan. The research aimed to determine whether cooperative learning could enhance students' academic performance, engagement, and motivation in this context. A mixed-methods design was employed, incorporating both quantitative and qualitative data. Pre-test and post-test assessments were conducted to evaluate improvements in literacy and numeracy, while semi-structured interviews and classroom observations provided deeper insights into student and tutor experiences with the cooperative learning model. Paired t-tests were used to analyze the quantitative data, while thematic analysis was applied to the qualitative data. The results revealed significant improvements in both literacy and numeracy skills, with average test scores increasing by 18% in both areas. Qualitative findings highlighted that students felt more engaged and confident, particularly due to the collaborative nature of the learning process. Peer interaction and teacher facilitation were identified as key factors in the success of the intervention. These findings align with previous studies on cooperative learning, which emphasize the positive impact of peer support and collaborative learning on adult education outcomes. The study contributes to the growing body of research on cooperative learning in non-formal education settings by demonstrating the effectiveness of the STAD model in improving adult learners' literacy and numeracy. The findings suggest that cooperative learning can be a valuable tool in non-formal education to enhance engagement, motivation, and academic success. Future research could explore the long-term effects of cooperative learning and its adaptability across different cultural and socio-economic contexts.

Abstract

Problem-solving ability is important for students to possess because life is inseparable from problems. However, in reality, students' problem-solving ability, especially in mathematics learning, remains relatively low, including in the Three Variable Linear Equation System (SPLTV) material. This study aims to validate the problem-based learning student worksheet, assisted by liveworksheets, for the SPLTV material as an alternative teaching material to improve students' mathematical problem-solving ability. The research method used a Development Study research design, involving four material experts and two media experts in the validation process. The research instrument used questionnaires for validation and a one-to-one interview instrument with three grade X MA students. Data analysis was carried out using descriptive statistical techniques to calculate the average percentage of the validation results. The validation results showed that the worksheet prototype was categorized as very valid with a score of 86.14%, and the learning media was categorized as very valid with a validity score of 91.67%. The interview results with three students indicated that the worksheet was feasible and practical to use. Based on the research results, the problem-based learning worksheet, assisted by Liveworksheets, met the validity standards; therefore, it is feasible to test after revisions based on the validators' suggestions.

Abstract

Student Worksheets (LKPD) are teaching materials that help teachers deliver content to students. With LKPD, students find it easier to understand the material and become more motivated in the learning process. However, in practice, teachers are accustomed to using LKPDs purchased from book sales representatives, which often fail to present contextual problems as the starting point of the learning process. This study aims to produce valid teaching materials in the form of LKPD using the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach on multiplication material for elementary school students. The research follows a design research method of the  development studies type. This study was limited to prototype 2, which underwenta formal review by three experts:  two senior teachers as subject matter experts and one lecturer as an education expert. using an expert validation instrument. The data collection technique used was qualitative data obtained from observations and interviews. The results show that the developed LKPD is very valid. It achieved an average validity score of 90%, placing it on the Very valid catagory. these findings contribute to the field of mathematics education by providing a proven, RME-based framework for LKPD design that bridges the gap between abstract multiplication  concepts and real-world application, offering apractical alternative to  commercial worksheets.
