Abstract

The accumulation of microplastics (MPs) in agricultural land may threaten food security and farmers' health, which is of interest. This study examined the implication of MPs contamination/pollution on the chemical properties of an Inceptisol on different slopes in the horticultural production center of Banuhampu Subdistrict, Agam District, West Sumatra Province. The soil samples were determined by purposive random sampling with a quantitative survey method. Sample testing was carried out using a randomized completely block design with five treatments, i.e., 25-45% in forests, and 0-8%, 8-15%, 15-25%, and 25-45% in fields at a depth of 0-20 cm. The Inceptisol contaminated with MPs has the following characteristics: pH = 5.01, EC = 0.09 dS m-1, Eh = 92.97 mV, mineral = 68.81%, OM = 31.19%, CEC = 60.67 cmol(+) kg-1, C = 2.13%, N = 0.81%, P2O5 = 6.46 ppm, K = 0.48, Ca = 1.59 cmol(+) kg-1, Mg = 0.62 cmol(+) kg-1 , and SO4 = 98.98 ppm. The concentration of MPs on the Inceptisol was 438.33 particles kg-1 with filament shape, transparent color, and large size (1-5 mm) were the most commonly found. Polymer types included polyamide 6, polystyrene, and polyethylene. The effect of slope level on the surface change charger of Inceptisols contaminated with MPs was insignificant. However, the effect was significant in OC, total N, K-exch, and available S. The implications of microplastic contamination/pollution did not have a significant relationship with the chemical properties of the soil. However, it has a negative relationship to redox potential (Eh), mineral composition, and Ca-exch.

Abstract

Organic waste is a serious problem in big cities. Eco Enzyme and Green Tonic fertilizer are used to solve the problem and increase the growth of chili plants. Research comparing the macro content of both is needed. Eco Enzyme analysis activities were carried out at the Soil Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Mulawarman University. The activity of planting chili plants was carried out in one of the researcher's houses. The activities carried out in this study were carried out in two stages, namely the first stage of analysing the content of Eco Enzyme and Green Tonic Fertilizer and the second stage of planting chili plants. Green Tonic Fertilizer has a higher Nitrogen content than Eco Enzyme. However, Eco Enzyme has a higher Potassium content than Green Tonic Fertilizer. Based on the results of the research activities that have been carried out, it can be concluded that; observation of the height of chili plants after the experiment shows that the interaction effect and the main effect of applying eco enzyme has a significant effect on the height of chili plants compared to applying Green Tonic fertilizer and the results also show that many leaves using eco enzyme are better than Green Tonic fertilizer.

Abstract

This community engagement aims to develop human resources (HR) based on smart user principles in utilizing social media and E-wallets in the digital era, specifically for parent guardians in Desa Durian. The digital era demands individuals to become smarter and more adaptive in using technology, including social media and E-wallets. Social media is an effective tool for communication and information, while E-wallets facilitate financial transactions efficiently and reduce dependency on cash. Increasing digital literacy is expected to enhance the abilities and understanding of parents and guardians in leveraging technology optimally and securely. The methods of this community engagement include training sessions and direct mentoring designed to provide an in-depth knowledge of social media and E-wallet usage, covering technical, practical, ethical, and security aspects of digital technology. The outcomes of this engagement demonstrate that with appropriate training, parent guardians in Desa Durian can effectively use social media for communication and information-sharing, and utilize E-wallets for financial transactions more efficiently, thereby enhancing their daily life efficiency and effectiveness. In conclusion, developing HR based on smart user principles is crucial in facing the challenges of the digital era. Improved digital literacy enables parent guardians to better adapt to changes, harness technological opportunities, and positively impact the local community. From the evaluation results of the community engagement, it was found that 82% of participants were able to understand the training materials delivered by several speakers.

Abstract

The quality of biochar produced through the pyrolysis process depends on the combustion temperature, duration of combustion, and the raw materials used. Biochar is a carbon-rich product resulting from the thermal decomposition of organic matter. Biochar from bamboo and pinewood was produced at 400 and 800 using a closed chamber where the temperature could be set. Biochar is made through carbonization with pyrolysis. This study aimed to find out the functional group characteristics of two types of raw materials, bamboo and pine wood. This research was conducted at the Environmental Soil Physics Laboratory, Universitas Syiah Kuala. Two types of feedstocks, bamboo, and pinewood, were used as sample experiments. The feedstocks were burned inside a closed chamber with no oxygen present. (Thermo scientific thermolyne F4820-33). The temperature was at 400 and 800, and a burning time of four hours. Fourier Transform Infra-Red (FTIR)was used to characterize the functional groups of biochar tested. Our research showed biochar from pinewood burned at a temperature of 400 gave the characteristics of the functional groups OH, CH, and C=O with strong intensity. It indicates that there was decomposition of organic matter into organic compounds taking place.

Abstract

Sintesis sukrosa ester (SEs) melalui reaksi enzimatis menggunakan substrat metil ester dan sukrosa. Kondisi reaksi adalah konsentrasi substrat 0,6 g/ml, waktu reaksi 600 menit, dan kecepatan pengadukan 400 rpm. Penelitian bertujuan untuk meningkatkan bilangan ester (BE) melalui pengaruh rasio Novozyme®435 pada 0,1- 1,0% (b/b) dan temperatur reaksi pada 30-75oC. Selanjutnya mengetahui karakteristik fisika-kimia serta potensinya sebagai senyawa anti bakteri. Data pengamatan mengikuti rancangan faktorial 1 faktor (2 kali ulangan). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, diketahui bahwa temperatur reaksi memberikan pengaruh lebih signifikan dibandingkan Novozyme®435 (p-value ≤ 0,05) terhadap peningkatan BE, pada temperature 40oC sebesar 82,94%. Karakteristik SEs optimal adalah bilangan asam 2,446 mg KOH/g, titik leleh 32oC, densitas 0,285 g/ml, kadar air 0,046%, kadar abu 0,292%, larut dalam H2O dan tidak larut dalam C2H5OH. SEs memiliki sifat anti bakteri dan dapat menghambat pertumbuhan Escherichia coli dengan zona hambat terbesar 12,5 mm selama 3 hari inkubasi.Kata kunci: Anti Bakteri, Escherichia coli, Lipase, Metil Ester, Sukrosa Ester

Abstract

AbstractThe objective of this study was to determine the collaboration of the community and village government in efforts to control stunting in Sipungguk Village and Ranah Village, Kampar Regency. In this study, the author used a qualitative descriptive approach. The data generated in this study are primary and secondary data, primary data is generated by conducting observations and in-depth and structured interviews with informants, while secondary data is obtained from relevant literature and supported by photos and documents related to stunting. The research conducted shows that there is good collaboration between the village government and the community which is seen in communication, trust, commitment and innovation that builds a shared understanding between the community and the village government, and results in a decrease in stunting rates to zero or no stunted babies as shown by the data from the village-level stunting prevention convergence report. collaboration in controlling stunting not only increases the efficiency and effectiveness of the program, but also helps create more sustainable long-term changes for the community.Keywords: Collaboration, Stunting control, KamparAbstrakTujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui kolaborasi masyarakat dan pemerintah desa dalam upaya pengendalian stunting di desa Sipungguk dan desa Ranah kabupaten kampar. Dalam penelitian ini penulis menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Data yang dihasilkan dalam penelitian ini merupakan data primer dan sekunder, data primer dihasilkan dengan melakukan observasi dan wawancara mendalam dan terstruktur terhadap informan, sedangkan data sekunder diperoleh dari literatur yang relevan dan didukung dengan foto serta dokumen-dokumen terkait stunting. Penelitian yang dilakukan menunjukkan adanya kolaborasi yang baik diantara pemerintah desa dan masyarakat yang terlihat pada komunikasi, kepercayaan, komitmen dan inovasi yang membangun dalam pemahaman bersama antara masyarakat dan pemerintah desa, serta menghasilkan penurunan angka stunting yang menjadi nol atau tidak terdapat bayi stunting yang ditunjukkan dari data laporan konvergensi pencegahan stunting tingkat desa. kolaborasi dalam pengendalian stunting tidak hanya meningkatkan efisiensi dan efektivitas program, tetapi juga membantu menciptakan perubahan jangka panjang yang lebih berkelanjutan bagi Masyarakat.Kata Kunci: Kolaborasi, pengendalian Stunting, Kampar

Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas pentingnya pelatihan keterampilan digital sebagai instrumen untuk meningkatkan kualitas sumber daya manusia (smart people) dan kualitas hidup (smart living) di wilayah pedesaan. Masalah utama yang dihadapi adalah kesenjangan digital antara desa dan kota, yang berpotensi menghambat peningkatan kesejahteraan masyarakat pedesaan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji apakah pelatihan keterampilan digital mampu menjadi solusi dalam meningkatkan kualitas hidup masyarakat di Kabupaten Kampar, Provinsi Riau. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah survei kuantitatif dengan analisis regresi multivariat untuk menguji hubungan antara keterampilan digital dengan peningkatan smart people dan smart living. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari 100 responden dari lima desa yang terlibat dalam program pelatihan keterampilan digital. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner dan dianalisis menggunakan SPSS. Hasil penelitian bahwa keterampilan digital berkontribusi positif terhadap peningkatan kualitas sumber daya manusia (smart people), seperti literasi digital, fotografi, dan pemanfaatan Internet of Things (IoT) untuk mendukung kegiatan ekonomi dan keseharian. Namun, pengaruhnya terhadap peningkatan kualitas hidup (smart living) lebih kecil, karena faktor lain seperti infrastruktur dan dukungan sosial turut memengaruhi keberhasilan penerapan teknologi, termasuk perbaikan infrastruktur dan dukungan lingkungan yang kondusif. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan pendekatan yang lebih holistik untuk mendukung transformasi digital di wilayah pedesaan.

Abstract

Biochar is a by-product produced from the combustion process without oxygen at high temperatures (100-800oC) for approximately one hour. The advantage of this biochar is that apart from having several distinctive properties such as being more efficient, cost-effective, and easy to obtain, it can also improve the soil physical properties and remove toxic contaminants in ex-coal mining soil. Through its large surface area, large pore size distribution, particle types and low density, biochar can influence soil porosity, soil consistency, improve soil aggregate stability values and increase water availability for plants by up to 130%. The research was carried out at the experimental site of the Agriculture Faculty, Universitas Syiah Kuala using planting media from ex-coal mining soil. This research used a factorial randomized block design with three replications. The first factor was the biochar feedstock consisted of pine wood and sawdust. The second factor was the biochar dosage consisted of 0, 10, and 20 tons ha-1. The physical soil characteristic parameters observed were soil porosity, bulk density, and aggregate stability. The biochar characteristic parameters observed were biochar combustion results, biochar morphology, water holding capacity, and biochar bulk density. Pine wood and sawdust biochar can improve soil physical properties, especially soil porosity, but did not affect soil bulk density and soil aggregate stability. Biochar dosages of 10 and 20 t ha-1 can improve soil porosity. However, to minimize costs, the biochar application at a dose of 10 t ha-1 can be recommended.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of digital technology on marketing strategy development and its effect on the competitiveness of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia. In an era of rapid digitalization, adopting digital technology has become a crucial factor in enhancing the competitiveness of MSMEs. The research utilizes a quantitative approach with a survey design, where data was collected through questionnaires distributed to 100 MSME entrepreneurs who have integrated digital technology into their marketing strategies. The findings indicate that using social media and e-commerce platforms significantly contributes to increased brand awareness, sales, and customer loyalty for MSMEs. Approximately 68% of respondents reported a sales boost after utilizing digital platforms, while more than 60% noted enhanced brand visibility. On the other hand, despite the great potential of SEO and email marketing to improve competitiveness, the application of these strategies remains limited. Multiple linear regression analysis suggests that the more intensively digital technology is used, the greater the competitiveness of MSME products in an increasingly competitive market. These findings emphasize the importance of integrating digital technology into MSME marketing strategies to strengthen their position in domestic and global markets. Therefore, MSME entrepreneurs are encouraged to expand their understanding and implementation of additional digital marketing strategies and seek more significant support from the government and related institutions.

Abstract

Background: The rapid changes in people's consumption behavior resulting from technological and information advancements require business actors to have a high level of digital literacy to increase sales performance. Purpose: This study aims to measure the level of digital literacy among micro and small-scale businesses particularly in the vibrant region of Pontianak City. Design/Methodology/Approach: Primary data are taken from non-formal MSEs category of business as they make up the largest share of business ownership category in the region. This study employs descriptive qualitative research through grand mean methodology which is accurate to analyze the distinct characteristic across multiple groups of samples, as well as to facilitate interpretation of unchanging effects by controlling of inclusive variability.Conclusion: This study finds that the level of digital literacy among MSEs in Pontianak City is categorized into upper-middle group with average total score of 3.64 where micro-scale enterprises are found to have lower level of literacy as compared to small enterprises. It is also found that imbalance of digital literacy within variables used in this study. Internet searching variable (X1) and hypertextual navigation (X2) and knowledge assembly (X4) variable are found to be in the category of upper-middle group, while content evaluation variable (X3) is found to be lower at medium group.Originality/value (state of the art): This study provides a nascent overview of digital literacy level in Pontianak City, highlighting significant differences between micro and small enterprises. These findings serve as a critical reference for policymakers in designing localized strategies to improve digital literacy and foster economic growth.
