Abstract

The G20 is a non-formal international forum that was established against the backdrop of concerns about global economic issues. Over time, the G20 has evolved into a complex international forum with two main tracks: the finance track, which focuses on economic, financial, and fiscal issues, and the sherpa track, which addresses non-systemic issues that can impact the economy or human security, such as development, humanitarian issues, social poverty, technology, health, and others. The sherpa track consists of two main discussions: the working group (government) and the engagement group (non-governmental). Indonesia has been a member of the G20 since its formation, along with 18 other countries and one regional organization. Indonesia is part of the G20 due to its large Gross Domestic Product (GDP). In 2022, Indonesia held the G20 presidency and brought forward several national issues and interests. Indonesia demonstrated its diplomatic efforts, such as its active participation in the sherpa track. This research employs a qualitative method, involving data collection through interviews and document analysis, drawing from books, journal articles, news, reports, and websites related to Indonesia's diplomacy in the G20 forum through the sherpa track. The results of this study show that Indonesia's diplomacy in the sherpa track demonstrates good engagement. However, Indonesia's status as a middle power poses challenges in its efforts to voice, represent, and advocate for its interests in the forum alongside great powers. To make Indonesia's diplomacy effective, it is necessary to build strength and capacity in collaboration with other middle-power countries. Keywords : G20, sherpa track, diplomacy, Indonesia, middle power

Abstract

Twelve years in a row, the World Economic Forum has ranked Iceland as the nation with the highest level of gender equality. Even though Iceland has the maximum level of gender equality, there is still gender-based violence. According to Stigamot, an Icelandic survivor center, as many as 12% of Icelandic women reported experiencing gender-based violence, and as many as 40% of women entering college admitted to having experienced such violence. This study employs qualitative methods, with data collected from reputable sources such as books, official publications from the report from Stigamot, journals, and news articles. This study employs the capability theory to argue that violence against women unquestionably affects all economic, educational, social, and environmental factors. A number of efforts have been made by the Icelandic government to combat instances of gender-based violence, including the formation of a steering committee to address gender-based violence in accordance with Goal 5 of the Sustainable Development Goals. The findings of this study indicate that gender-based violence will increase in 2021, despite the fact that it still occurs today. The challenge for the government is the lack of shelters, the reluctance of people to disclose homelessness due to the stigma, and the inefficiency of decisions in Iceland. Abstract

Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and Online Gender-Based Violence (OGBV) behavior are issues that should not be allowed to occur in the educational environment, which should uphold ethical values concerning integrity, accountability, and respect for fellow human beings. Unfortunately, sexual violence continues to occur in various countries, including Indonesia. The purpose of this community service project is to provide Prevention and Management Education on OGBV so that students and educators can understand and identify GBV, especially OGBV. The community service activities were conducted at SMA Negeri 1 Bantan, Bengkalis Regency, by providing basic knowledge about gender and gender inequality that can lead to the emergence of OGBV. The method used in these activities was a workshop that required active participation from male and female students to discuss and provide examples of proactive steps to prevent OGBV. The results of this community service project indicate a 34.81% increase in students' understanding of OGBV. This increase was obtained from the pre-test and post-test results conducted by students after participating in the OGBV education activities. The enhanced understanding of OGBV by students following this community service project highlights the importance of education and awareness regarding OGBV. Consequently, it is hoped that this will contribute to efforts to break the chain of gender-based violence in general.
