Abstract

Defending the country is an obligation for every Indonesian, including the younger generation. The younger generation must be inculcated with the ideology of the Pancasila state so that they have strong resilience in facing the threat of terrorism and radicalism. Nationalism and national defense insight possessed by the Indonesian people are considered not high. For this reason, awareness and enlightenment are needed from an early age to foster a love of Indonesia's homeland. This can be done one of them through the application of state defense values in costume designs and superhero attributes named "Panca Satria". The application of local wisdom to costume design and attributes is an effort to preserve culture. This study uses qualitative research methods using semiotics studies. The results of this study are expected to open the discourse that local wisdom can be raised in future trends in the form of costume designs and superhero attributes that are attractive to children. So, education about the values of defending the country to children can be done effectively.

Abstract

This study explores the role of development communication in fostering stakeholder engagement in Arjowinangun Village’s batik tourism initiatives..Researchers aim to position the village as a central hub for batik tulis and establish Woro Srikandi as a leading brand in Pacitan Regency. Using a qualitative, phenomenological approach within development communication, the team gathered data through participant observation, FGDs, and analysis of key documents, including 2023 village data and the RPJMDes (2019-2023). Twelve key informants contributed insights, including village officials, community leaders, youth, artisans, business owners, and government representatives. The study identifies three significant outcomes: (1) the successful integration of batik tulis into the village’s development plan by the local government and Bumdes, (2) the establishment of Woro Srikandi batik tulis as an educational tourism destination, and (3) increased tourism awareness among residents, which has fostered the growth of a creative economy that supports the batik tulis tourism initiative. The findings highlight that development communication serves as a strategic tool for building inclusive discourse, enhancing participation, and cultivating community identity. These insights are crucial for promoting sustainable tourism and the creative economy in rural areas.

Abstract

MSMEs have a crucial role in the Indonesian economy, but many of them still face obstacles in terms of branding and digital marketing. The lack of understanding of the importance of visual identity and digital strategy causes MSME products to be less prominent in a competitive market. This community service activity aims to improve the quality of branding of MSME products in Wonorejo Village, Pasuruan City, through the Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) approach which involves stages of counseling, training, and direct assistance to business actors. The counseling is focused on a basic understanding of visual branding, including elements of brand identity such as logos, colors, typography, and packaging. The training emphasizes hands-on practice in designing promotional packaging, logos, and banners using digital platforms like Canva. Furthermore, mentoring is carried out to identify specific branding obstacles faced by each MSME and develop applicative solutions collaboratively. The results of the activity show a significant increase in the quality of branding MSME products visually and digital marketing strategies. One of the fostered MSMEs, namely AM Jaya and Berkah Mandiri, has succeeded in rebranding packaging and developing digital marketing channels through e-commerce platforms and social media. In addition, business actors become more confident in presenting their products to consumers and business partners. MSMEs are also beginning to realize the importance of brand consistency in building customer loyalty and increasing competitiveness. The response of the participants to this activity was very positive, reflected in the enthusiasm during the training and the commitment to implement the learning outcomes. Some MSMEs are starting to form small communities to share best practices in terms of branding and promotion.

Abstract

Abstract Dating simulator games, such as Love and Deepspace, not only offer entertainment, but also become a space for players to explore and build their virtual identities. In this context, women as players have a unique experience in forming their self-concept through the romantic interactions offered by the game. The purpose of this study is to analyze how the virtual identity of women in the game Love and Deepspace. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive type. This research was conducted in Surabaya by conducting interviews. Data collection techniques used in-depth interviews, documentation, and observation. Data will be analyzed using thematic analysis. The data analysis technique follows the steps proposed by Miles and Huberman which include three main components: data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of this study indicate that the construction of women's virtual identities in romantic interactions in the dating simulator game Love and Deepspace can be concluded that this game functions as a significant platform for women to build and express their virtual identities. Through character customization and interactions with non-player characters (NPCs), players have the opportunity to explore aspects of themselves that may not be expressed in the real world. The game also creates a hyperreality experience, so it is important for players to be aware that while in-game experiences can be emotionally satisfying, they must still consider the context and dynamics of real-world relationships. Keywords: Women; online games; virtual identity; love and deepspace.   Abstrak Game dating simulator, seperti Love and Deepspace, tidak hanya menawarkan hiburan, tetapi juga menjadi ruang bagi pemain untuk mengeksplorasi dan membangun identitas virtual mereka. Dalam konteks ini, perempuan sebagai pemain memiliki pengalaman yang unik dalam membentuk konsep diri mereka melalui interaksi romantis yang ditawarkan oleh game tersebut. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis bagaimana identitas virtual perempuan dalam game Love and Deepspace. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis deskriptif. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Surabaya dengan melakukan wawancara. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara mendalam (in-depth interview), dokumentasi, dan observasi. Data akan dianalisis menggunakan analisis tematik. Teknik analisis datanya mengikuti langkah- langkah yang diusulkan oleh Miles dan Huberman yang mencakup tiga komponen utama: reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa konstruksi identitas virtual perempuan dalam interaksi romantis di dalam game dating simulator Love and Deepspace dapat disimpulkan bahwa game ini berfungsi sebagai platform yang signifikan bagi perempuan untuk membangun dan mengekspresikan identitas virtual mereka. Melalui kustomisasi karakter dan interaksi dengan karakter non- pemain (NPC), pemain memiliki kesempatan untuk mengeksplorasi berbagai aspek dari diri mereka yang mungkin tidak dapat diekspresikan di dunia nyata, Game ini juga menciptakan pengalaman hiperreality, maka penting bagi pemain untuk menyadari bahwa meskipun pengalaman dalam game dapat memberikan kepuasan emosional, mereka tetap harus mempertimbangkan konteks dan dinamika hubungan di dunia nyata. Abstract

The use of social media for development as well as the promotion of tourism destinations is being loved by the people of Indonesia, both from the government and the private sector. So this paper will explain the same thing a bit. Specifically this article will discuss the development of tourist destinations using one of the social media, namely Instagram. The tourist destinations that we are developing are in the village of Tegaren, District Tugu, Trenggalek Regency. There are three (3) tourist destinations in Tegaren, namely embungs, caves, and waterfalls. The community service that we have done is still focused on one tourist destination, namely embung. The embung in the Tegaren village is called Banyu Lumut. This paper seeks to explain the development of tourist destinations through social media. In this paper, the concept of tourism that is pro-poor tourism, tourism value chain, and productive economic empowerment will be used. The pro-poor tourism approach is used as an alternative step of ecotourism which is expected to be more engaged in labor-intensive development activities rather than capital intensive. The community service that we have done has resulted in the form of an @banyulumut Instagram account which can then be used by the Tegaren village government to promote Tegaren tourism. Abstract

In accordance with the activities with the theme of training and mentoring in the creation of Instagram content, it intends to channel and develop the skills of entrepreneurs in the Keputih village in the digital era. This training and assistance use skilled techniques in terms of marketing in the field of copywriting which aims to attract consumers to buy these products, in addition to good and correct copywriting techniques, of course, photographic techniques are needed for the aesthetic power of these products, in training and assistance in taking photos. the product must be considered in terms of angle and light capture, besides the media that will be used for taking product photos must be considered, the mini studio is one of the supporting parts for product photos, this material is easy to find in everyday life, for example, a mini studio that made of cardboard used for mineral water, in addition to materials that are easy to shape, used cardboard is an affordable and practical material, so there is no need to inflate costs, other supporting media are asturo paper, oil paper which will be pasted on the outside and inside of the cardboard the. The results of the research from the discussion indicate that copywriting techniques and supporting photography techniques are skills that must be possessed by entrepreneurs who want to start businesses so that they can attract the attention of consumers.

Abstract

The Job Creation Law has become a controversial topic and has given rise to various problems in society. Political and social dynamics continue to change, speeches from public figures are important because they can influence public opinion, shape perceptions, and mobilize the masses. One figure who is known for raising socio-political issues with a provocative perspective is Rocky Gerung. The aim of this research is to analyze the reconstruction of meaning and power in the context of workers' struggles in Rocky Gerung's speech which was broadcast via the MimbarTube channel " Pidato Panas Rocky Gerung Bersama Aliansi 1 Juta Buruh". This research adopts Teun A. Van Djik's Critical Discourse Analysis. This type of research uses qualitative with a critical approach. The data collection technique was carried out by storing and collecting data related to Rocky Gerung's heated speech with the alliance of 1 million workers. The research results show that Rocky Gerung's speech was delivered in simple language and strong rhetoric in the context of workers' dissatisfaction with the Omnibus Law policy and a government that did not side with the interests of the people, but instead colluded with capitalist forces. Rocky Gerung uses his intellectual authority to reconstruct the meaning of workers' struggle as something legitimate and necessary in the face of injustice achieved through collective action

Abstract

The Community Service Program (KKN) in Kedung Baruk Village, Surabaya City, focused on empowering Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) through creative and visually appealing promotional strategies. MSMEs in this region have significant potential to support local economic growth, but still face obstacles in reaching a wider market due to limitations in product promotion and branding. Many have not yet utilized powerful digital and visual media as effective marketing tools. Through this KKN program, students act as mentors and facilitators in developing promotional strategies based on visual design, simple digital marketing, and strengthening product identity. These steps included training in packaging design, creating promotional content for social media, and mentoring in building brand image. The results of this activity indicate an increase in the understanding and skills of MSMEs in promoting their products in a more attractive and professional manner. With a creative approach relevant to current market needs, it is hoped that MSMEs in Kedung Baruk Village can grow more independently, be highly competitive, and have the ability to continuously innovate in developing their businesses. This activity demonstrates that collaboration between students and the community can have a tangible impact on local economic progress.

Abstract

Abstract The rapid development of ICT and the digital world has changed many things. Education in the new normal era must innovate to integrate ICT. This study aims to determine the digital literacy competence of Accounting students FEB UPN Veteran East Java; and Formulating strategies to improve digital literacy competencies for Accounting students of FEB UPN Veterans East Java. In addition to digital infrastructure, it is necessary to design learning models such as curriculum that is integrated with digital literacy (Stein and Graham, 2014). European Commission Digital Competency Framework 2.1 (Carretero, Vuorikari & Punie, 2018), covers five aspects, namely information/data literacy; communication/collaboration; digital content creation; security; and problem solving. This research method uses mixed methods (survey/interview). Quantitative and qualitative data analysis. The results showed that from the five aspects of digital literacy competence, Accounting students of FEB UPN Veteran Jatim were categorized both in the aspects of Information/data literacy and Communication/collaboration. Next is the aspect of creating digital content; Security; and Troubleshooting, need improvement. Strategies to improve digital literacy competence are to direct students to: think critically; using digital media; manage online identity; managing digital distractions; digital experience practice; and get out of your comfort zone.

Abstract

Abon merupakan salah satu jenis makanan kering berbentuk khas yang dibuat dari bahan daging atau ikan yang direbus lalu disayat-sayat, dibumbu, lalu digoreng. Abon Bandeng merupakan salah satu jenis abon yang berbahan dasar dari ikan bandeng. Pelatihan pembuatan abon bandeng ini dilakukan oleh kelompok 5 KKNT Bela Negara SDG;s Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jawa Timur. Tujuan dari penulisan artikel ini adalah untuk menyampaikan proses pembuatan abon bandeng. Kegiatan ini dilakukan di Balai RW 08 Keputih, Sukolilo, Kota Surabaya. Kegiatan ini melibatkan ibu-ibu PKK RT 04/RW 08 Kelurahan Keputih dalam pelatihan pembuatan abon bandeng. Hasil dari pendampingan pembuatan abon bandeng ini adalah ibu-ibu PKK dapat membuat serta memngetahui proses pembuatan produk olahan abon bandeng yang sebelunya belum pernah diolah menjadi produk ini. Pelatihan pembuatan abon bandeng dapat menjadi sarana edukasi bagi ibu-ibu PKK untuk menambah jenis/produk olahan ikan bandeng. Produk abon bandeng diharapakan dapat menjadi salah satu produk unggulan di Kelurahan Keputih Kota Surabaya.
