Abstract

Internalization of disaster risk reduction (DRR) education in the school curriculum has been applied to various levels of education in Indonesia. Given that disaster knowledge is closely related to preparedness, the relevance of both becomes something essential to study. This study aims to 1) describe the level of knowledge of high school students regarding DRR and their preparedness to face disasters, 2) explore the relationship between DRR knowledge and student preparedness to face disasters. This research is a descriptive correlative study. This research was conducted in Batu City which has a status of a multi-disaster prone area. The data collection was done by survey. The number of research samples were 240 students spread across SMAN 1 Kota Batu, SMAN 2 Kota Batu, SMAN 3 Kota Batu, and SMA Islam Kota Batu. The research data was analyzed using Spearman's nonparametric test with a significance of 0.01. The results of the study showed that the student's DRR knowledge level belonged to the category of "understanding" and the level of preparedness of the students was categorized as "ready". Furthermore, there is a positive and significant relationship between two variables studied with a correlation coefficient value of 0.711.

Abstract

The research was driven by the limited implementation of technology and the lack of interesting geography learning media on endogenous material. Abstract and complex material requires media that can visualize events resulting from endogenous forces. Based on these problems, the right form of technology utilization is the media website GlideApps supported with images and animations. The research aims to produce a website-based learning media and a proper application of endogenous materials. This type of research is Research and Development with a 4-D development model, namely: Define, Design, Development, and Decimate. This media validation test is based on the assessment of media expert validators and material experts. Evaluation of product validation results by media expert validators was 98.75% (valid), and material experts 80% (valid enough). In addition, implementation was carried out for subject teachers and students, and the results showed a positive response because the media presented material that was more interesting, easily accessible at any time, and made learning not boring supported by various features so that it increased the enthusiasm and activeness of students in participating in learning activities.

Abstract

Critical thinking ability is a 21st-century skill that is still lacking well empowerment. Efforts that can be made to improve These skills are through student-centred learning. Model STEM-integrated Project Based Learning encourages contextual learning through project activities. Indirectly, this builds thinking skills critical students in each syntax. This study aims to identify the effect of the model STEM-integrated Project Based Learning on student's critical thinking skills in geography subjects. This research uses a quasi-experimental research type by applying the Post-test Only Control Group Design. The research subject is students of class X IPS 7 and X IPS 9 MAN Bondowoso. The instrument used is a test essay. Data analysis using Independent Samples - Obtain test information p - level 0.00 <0.05 with a mean post-test score of the experimental class 82, and control class 70. It is concluded that the STEM-integrated Project Based Learning model has a significant effect on critical thinking skills.

Abstract

DEVELOPMENT OF VLOG (VIDEO BLOGGING) LEARNING MEDIA ON THE GEOGRAPHY TOPIC OF POPULATION DYNAMICSThis study aims to develop learning media using video blogging on the subject of population dynamics geography. The type of research used is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The instrument of this study was a questionnaire, while the research data analysis technique used material expert and media expert validation sheets. The results of this study explain that the feasibility values of media experts, material experts, and geography teachers fall into the very feasible category. As for the response from students to video blogging on implementation, it was included in the very good category. Video blogging learning media is considered effective and feasible to use in geography learning population dynamics material. The assessment and implementation of research subjects shows this. In general, video blogging media can be declared feasible to use and valid.Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran menggunakan vlog (video blogging) pada mata pelajaran geografi materi dinamika kependudukan. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan yaitu Research and Development (R&D) dengan model ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, dan Evaluation). Instrumen dari penelitian ini yaitu angket, sedangkan teknik analisis data penelitian menggunakan lembar validasi ahli materi dan ahli media. Hasil dari penelitian ini menerangkan bahwa nilai kelayakan dari ahli media, ahli materi, dan guru geografi termasuk ke dalam kategori yang sangat layak. Adapun respon dari peserta didik terhadap video blogging pada implementasi masuk ke dalam kategori sangat baik. Media pembelajaran video blogging dianggap efektif dan layak digunakan pada pembelajaran geografi materi dinamika kependudukan. Hal ini ditunjukkan oleh penilaian dan implementasi pada subjek penelitian. Secara umum media video blogging dapat dinyatakan layak untuk digunakan dan valid.

Abstract

Developing spatial thinking skills in students often poses a challenge for Geography teachers in Indonesia. The concept of spatial relationships in geography places spatial thinking as a distinct aspect of intelligence, enabling individuals to identify patterns and trends in spatial change. Therefore, appropriate models and strategies are needed to develop spatial thinking skills. This study aims to determine the effect of the Science, Environment, Technology and Society (SETS) learning model integrated with Google Earth on students' spatial thinking ability. This research is a quasi-experiment with posttest-only design nonequivalent groups that uses a quantitative approach with the inferential statistical method using the Independent sample t-test parametric test. The subjects of this study were randomly selected XI grade students from SMAN 10 Malang including, XI-C class as the experimental class and XI-D as the control class. The research instruments used are seven essay questions on spatial thinking ability. The data obtained will be analyzed using parametric statistics Independent sample t-test and obtained sig value. (2-tailed) 0.041. The mean value of the experimental class is greater (80.14) than the mean value of the control class (72.08). It can be concluded that the Science, Environment, Technology, and Society (SETS) model integrated with Google Earth affects students' spatial thinking ability on the material of Disaster and Environment class XI SMAN 10 Malang City. Another finding of this study is that three syntaxes are dominant in bringing up and developing students' spatial thinking ability, namely initiation, concept development formation, and concept application.

Abstract

Abstrak. Pemahaman mengenai sumber daya alam (SDA) sangat penting bagi kehidupan manusia dan perkembangan ekonomi. Salah satu SDA yang krusial adalah tambang pasir, yang digunakan dalam berbagai industri seperti konstruksi, manufaktur kaca, dan elektronik. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif eksploratif untuk menjelaskan secara mendalam fenomena penambangan pasir. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi langsung di lapangan, wawancara dengan berbagai pihak terkait seperti pekerja tambang dan masyarakat setempat, serta melalui dokumentasi yang mencakup regulasi dan literatur terkait. Observasi langsung memberikan gambaran nyata tentang kondisi lapangan, sementara wawancara memperkaya pemahaman dengan sudut pandang dari para ahli dan pemangku kepentingan. Dokumentasi menyediakan konteks historis dan peraturan yang mengatur praktik penambangan pasir. Penelitian tentang penambangan pasir di Desa Kalisat, Kabupaten Jember, Jawa Timur, mengungkap potensi ekonomi yang signifikan namun juga tantangan lingkungan dan sosial yang kompleks. Meskipun memberikan kontribusi besar terhadap pembangunan regional dan peningkatan pendapatan lokal, penambangan ini menyebabkan kerusakan ekosistem, seperti hilangnya habitat alami, erosi tanah, dan pencemaran air, yang mengancam stabilitas lahan pertanian dan kesehatan masyarakat. Untuk mengatasi dampak negatif tersebut, diperlukan langkah-langkah seperti rehabilitasi lahan, penggunaan dan teknologi hijau, sistem pengelolaan air limbah yang efektif, serta peningkatan pengawasan dan pelibatan masyarakat dalam pengambilan atau keputusan. Regulasi pemerintah juga harus diperketat dan ditegakkan dengan lebih serius. Penelitian ini juga menekankan pentingnya integrasi pembelajaran berbasis lingkungan dalam kurikulum geografi untuk meningkatkan kesadaran dan partisipasi siswa dalam menjaga kelestarian lingkungan. Kesimpulannya, meskipun penambangan pasir di Kalisat memiliki potensi ekonomi yang besar, kolaborasi antara pemerintah, masyarakat, dan industri diperlukan untuk mengelola dampak lingkungan dan sosial secara berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Abstrak: Perkembangan guru di abad 21 diarahkan pada penguasaan dan penerapan teknologi, pedagogi, dan konten. TPACK memberikan kerangka kerja fleksibel yang diterapkan pada berbagai konteks pembelajaran dan disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan dan karakteristik siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui persepsi guru Geografi terhadap penerapan TPACK dalam pembelajaran. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Sumber data diperoleh dari guru-guru SMA di Tulungagung yang berjumlah 31 orang. Data persepsi guru diperoleh dari hasil angket yang mengacu pada domain TPACK yaitu conten knowledge, pedagogical knowledge, teknological knowledge, technological content knowledge, pedagogical content knowledge, technological pedagogical knowledge, dan technological pedagogical content knowledge.  Teknik analisis data melalui tahapan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan persepsi guru terhadap TPACK berada pada kategori baik dan sangat baik. Hasil persepsi guru dikemukakan melalui proses pelatihan, dukungan institusional, dan hasil nyata dari penggunaan teknologi. Penerapan TPACK membantu guru untuk merancang pembelajaran yang menggabungkan model pembelajaran, materi, dan video eksplorasi geografi yang meningkatkan keterlibatan siswa. Ini menunjukkan guru memiliki pemahaman yang positif terhadap integrasi teknologi dalam pembelajaran.Abstract:  Teacher development in the 21st century is directed at mastery and application of technology, pedagogy, and content. TPACK provides a flexible framework that is applied to various learning contexts and is tailored to the needs and characteristics of students. This study aims to determine the perception of Geography teachers towards the application of TPACK in learning. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. Data sources were obtained from 31 high school teachers in Tulungagung. Teacher perception data were obtained from the results of a questionnaire referring to the TPACK domain, namely content knowledge, pedagogical knowledge, technological knowledge, technological content knowledge, pedagogical content knowledge, technological pedagogical knowledge, and technological pedagogical content knowledge. Data analysis techniques through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The results of the study showed that teacher perceptions of TPACK were in the good and very good categories. The results of teacher perceptions were presented through the training process, institutional support, and real results from the use of technology. The application of TPACK helps teachers to design learning that combines learning models, materials, and geography exploration videos that increase student engagement. This shows that teachers have a positive understanding of technology integration in learning.

Abstract

Era Human Society 5.0 mengindikasikan peralihan ke arah masyarakat yang dipacu oleh teknologi digital, di mana interaksi antara manusia dan teknologi semakin erat. Dalam bidang pendidikan, peran guru semakin signifikan dalam membimbing siswa menghadapi tantangan dan peluang yang terjadi pada masa ini. Urgensi pengembangan profesionalisme guru dalam menghadapi Era Human Society 5.0 menjadi subjek penelitian ini. Artikel ini melakukan sintesis literatur dan analisis mendalam untuk mengidentifikasi beberapa faktor penting yang perlu diperhatikan dalam meningkatkan profesionalisme guru di era ini. Pemahaman guru tentang tren dan perkembangan teknologi terkini serta implikasinya dalam konteks pendidikan menunjukkan relevansi yang krusial. Guru harus memahami bagaimana teknologi seperti kecerdasan buatan, pembelajaran berbasis teknologi, dan integrasi teknologi dalam proses pembelajaran dapat diterapkan secara optimal untuk meningkatkan pengalaman belajar siswa. Peran guru sebagai contoh dalam mengajarkan etika dan tanggung jawab dalam penggunaan teknologi sangat penting dalam Era Human Society 5.0, di mana masalah privasi dan keamanan data menjadi perhatian utama. Guru memiliki tanggung jawab utama dalam membimbing siswa tentang penggunaan teknologi secara etis dan bertanggung jawab. Selain itu, pendekatan pembelajaran profesional yang berkelanjutan dan berbasis kolaboratif menjadi kunci dalam mengembangkan profesionalisme guru. Guru perlu terus meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan mereka melalui pelatihan, mentoring, dan kolaborasi dengan rekan guru serta profesional pendidikan lainnya demi menyongsong Era Human Society 5.0 dengan lebih siap dan efektif.

Abstract

In the current era, the development of education has undergone many transformative changes, such as the integration of technology in learning processes, improvements in educational facilities, innovative teaching methods, and a shift in teachers' paradigms towards professionalism. This study aims to assess the professional status of geography teachers in public and private high schools in Jombang Regency and analyze how teachers' perceptions of professional development phases influence their performance. Data collection methods included observations, questionnaires, interviews, and documentation to provide a comprehensive analysis. The results indicate that geography teachers in both public and private schools exhibit varying levels of professional competence, with notable differences influenced by their perceptions of professional development. Teachers with a positive view of professional growth phases tend to perform better in teaching and student engagement. The discussion elaborates on these findings, highlighting the importance of continuous professional development and supportive institutional policies to enhance teacher performance and educational outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to produce valid/feasible interactive multimedia products as learning media with Adobe Captivate in the application of the learning process. The type of research used is ADDIE model development research, namely analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The results showed that interactive multimedia learning media using the Adobe Captivate application on climate change materials developed had met the eligibility criteria with an average score of 97.3% of media aspect assessment, and 92.5% of material aspects in the very feasible category. Based on the results and discussion of student responses to interactive multimedia learning media using Adobe Captivate on climate change material, the percentage is 88% is included in the very appropriate category for use in learning
