Abstract

AbstractChristian Religious Education Management is carried out in smaller groups. The church is a broader community. Through pastoral care, the implementation of Christian Religious Education is expected to have a real impact on church members. Cell groups are small groups that can be optimized to achieve the goals of Christian Religious Education. This research uses quantitative research methodology with data analysis using the Rating Scale using 87 respondents of GBI Graha Pena members who responded to the statement given. The results showed the respondents understood the management of Christian Religious Education in pastoral care. Still, it needed the encouragement of leaders to make disciples so that they could carry out pastoral care—they need for members for pastoral care and Cell Group members to be more involved in ministry. Students learn to become cell group leaders by doing what they already understand to serve others. Abstract

This research investigates the usage of the terms Allah, Al-Ilah, and Allahumma in the Christian-Muslim Middle Eastern context before the 9th century AD. The aim of this study is to trace the historical development and theological implications of these terms within Arabic-speaking Christian and Muslim communities. The research method employed is a literature review, focusing on historical documents and inscriptions. The findings reveal that these terms were used in both religious traditions, indicating a shared linguistic and cultural heritage. Generalising these unique terms across both religions has been a major source of misunderstanding. This discussion remains relevant, not only in the context of Christian and Islamic religious language but also in the general use of Arabic within churches that use the Arabic language today, such as the Syrian and Coptic Churches in the Middle East. This article elucidates that Arab Christian communities are considered a missing link between the Christian and Islamic worlds. The research shows that the same ritual words—Allah, Al-Ilah, and Allahumma—were used before the advent of Islam. Through these Arab Christian communities, various points of contact and examples of tolerance and understanding can be clearly developed. This study contributes to a foundational theological understanding shared between Christianity and Islam, fostering interfaith dialogue and mutual respect.

Abstract

In the Ancient Near East, tithing covered various properties, produce or even currency, but specifics varied from culture to culture. In Israel the following were subject to tithing: wheat, new wine, olive oil, fruit, cattle and sheep (Deut. 14:23; Le 27:32, etc.), but other items may also be tithe. Abram gave a tithe of the spoils of war (Gen. 14:20) and Jacob swore to tithe of all that God had given him (Gen. 28:22). argues that throughout the Ancient Near East, all kinds of objects were found as subject to tithing: wool, cloth, wood, weapons, gold, silver, donkeys, and so on. In general, the Israelites had to tithe all the wealth of the land that Yahweh gave them (cf. Deut. 8:18). The concept of tithing was not new to Israel, for its practice could be observed before the law was revealed (Gen. 14:20; 28:20-22). From the time of the patriarchs, the Israelites began to make a vow of tithing (eg Gen. 28:22). That the tithe is mentioned in the Bible as a secular tax (Gen. 47:24; double tenth for Pharaoh; 1 Sam. 8:15, 17, and Amos 7:1 imply a tax on the first fruit). Initially it was levied for the king and only later for the gods (gods), which is opposed in Genesis 28:22. Genesis 1 shows that God is the Creator of all the riches of the earth (vv. 11-12; 16-18; 20-21; 24-25; 29-31). As the owner of all the land of Canaan, God could give it to whomever He wished (Deut. 2:5; 10-12; 20-23; 31).

Abstract

This article explores the biblical narrative of the Cushite woman in Numbers 12, focusing on the intersections of race, gender, and power within the ancient Israelite context. The background of this study lies in the marginalization of non-Israelite women in biblical texts, particularly the Cushite woman, whose identity and role have been largely overlooked. The purpose of this article is to investigate how her silence and the criticism from Moses' siblings, Miriam and Aaron, reflect broader themes of racial and gender-based exclusion. Using a qualitative analysis of the biblical text, this study examines the implications of her marginalization within the power structures of ancient Israel, as well as the racial prejudices embedded in the narrative. The results suggest that the Cushite woman’s silence, while often interpreted as subjugation, can also be viewed as a form of subtle resistance against the patriarchal and racial systems at play.   Contribution: This article contributes to a more nuanced understanding of how marginalized figures were portrayed in the Bible, and it reflects on the ongoing relevance of these themes in modern discussions of race, gender, and authority.

Abstract

Sin is the main obstacle to God’s salvation, because the wages of sin is death. But salvation is God’s free gift, not because of the kindness of those who receive it to God. Baptism was used by Paul to explain the death of sin and life for God. Believers are baptized into Christ, are baptized in His death, which means believers are drowned in Christ, into the death of Him. And by the resurrection of Christ, those who die in Christ will also experience a resurrection with Christ. From this resurection with Christ, this is the faithful person who has a new life and starts walking in that new life. This article attempts to explain Paul's words in Romans 6: 1-4 about new life. And it is in this new life that believers have a quality life knowing God who is new and full of wisdom. And a new life here is a very different life from a long life, where a long life tands to sin, but a life that tends to be old is a wise life.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital technology has transformed human interaction, communication, and spirituality, creating new challenges and opportunities for theology. In this changing landscape, understanding how the Holy Spirit works within digital culture becomes essential for a relevant pneumatological reflection. The purpose of this study is to explore the relevance and role of the Holy Spirit in a technologically mediated society, emphasizing the Spirit’s continuing work in renewing creation and guiding human life. This study employs a contextual theological analysis that integrates systematic theology, biblical interpretation, and digital ethics to examine how pneumatology interacts with the realities of virtual presence and communication. Through a qualitative, literature-based approach, it synthesizes classical and contemporary theological insights to construct a model of “digital pneumatology.” The findings indicate that the work of the Holy Spirit remains active in digital spaces—empowering believers to experience communion, truth, and transformation beyond physical boundaries. The Spirit sanctifies technology, transforming digital platforms into instruments of grace and moral discernment. Consequently, digital pneumatology affirms that divine presence continues to inspire creativity, mission, and ethical responsibility within modern technological culture. This reflection offers vital implications for the church’s ministry and the spiritual formation of believers in the twenty-first century. Contribution: This study contributes to digital theology by articulating how the Holy Spirit remains active and transformative within technological culture. It offers a theological framework that integrates pneumatology with digital ethics, emphasizing the Spirit’s role in sanctifying technology and shaping authentic Christian spirituality in the digital era.
