Abstract

Boiler merupakan salah satu komponen penting dalam sistem pembangkit listrik, industri, dan proses termal lainnya. Boiler berfungsi untuk menghasilkan uap air super panas yang digunakan untuk menggerakkan turbin atau proses lainnya. Penggunaan economizer sebagai preheater steam memiliki beberapa keuntungan. Penggunaan economizer dapat meningkatkan efisiensi termal sistem secara signifikan. Penambahan alat economizer sebagai preheater steam merupakan solusi menjanjikan untuk meningkatkan efisiensi dan kinerja sistem boiler. Akan tetapi, pada pabrik pakan ikan yang dijadikan objek penelitian, tidak terdapat economizer. Setelah dilakukannya perhitungan penggunaan bahan bakar dan analisa ekonomi dapat disimpulkan bahwa penambahan economizer sebagai preheater steam pada sistem boiler memberikan solusi yang menjanjikan dalam meningkatkan efisiensi dan kinerja. Penggunaan bahan bakar mengalami penurunan setelah pemasangan economizer, mengurangi konsumsi energi yang dibutuhkan. Selain itu, efisiensi panas yang diterima oleh air di boiler meningkat secara signifikan. Dengan demikian, penggunaan economizer membantu mengurangi konsumsi bahan bakar, meningkatkan efisiensi energi, dan mengurangi emisi gas buang. Penambahan alat economizer sebagai preheater steam dapat menjadi solusi yang efektif dalam meningkatkan kinerja dan efisiensi sistem boiler. Menurunnya energi yang dibutuhkan menyebabkan menurunnya jumlah bahan bakar LNG yang diigunakan dari 149kg/jam menjadi 135kg/jam dan meningkatnya efisiensi penyerapan panas dari 77% menjadi 84,5%. Sehingga hal ini berpengaruh pada pendapatan bersih pabrik yang mengalami peningkatan dari Rp 567.116.666.66,00 menjadi Rp 567.848.744.666,00.

Abstract

Addressing diverse student abilities remains a persistent challenge in education, particularly in complex subjects such as linear equations and inequalities. This study compared the effectiveness of Item Response Theory (IRT)-based and Classical Test Theory (CTT)-based differentiated learning designs in improving student performance in these topics. Conducted in two secondary schools, the research involved 126 students, with 61 students assigned to the IRT group and 65 to the CTT group. Using a quasi-experimental pretest-posttest control group design, the study evaluated the impact of both approaches on learning outcomes. The results revealed significant performance improvements in both groups. However, the IRT-based approach, which tailored tasks to individual ability levels, produced a significantly higher average posttest score and a larger effect size compared to the CTT-based approach. These findings underscore the precision and effectiveness of IRT in differentiating instruction to meet diverse learner needs, particularly in challenging subjects. The study concludes that adopting IRT-based strategies can enhance educational practices and optimize student learning outcomes, offering a robust alternative for addressing variability in student abilities.

Abstract

Temple bricks-based constructions are known to often face various challenges, including physical, chemical, and biological weathering. Previous studies identified various biological factors contributing to brick weathering including exudate produced by microorganisms, such as bacteria. In addition, bacteria often live synergistically and antagonistically with other species, exhibiting diverse morphological and physiological traits (bacterial diversity). Various methods have been developed to explore bacterial diversity, with phenetic numerical taxonomy being the most popular. Therefore, this study aims to determine bacterial diversity on the surfaces of temple bricks using phenetic numerical taxonomy method. Bacterial isolation was carried out aseptically, followed by labeling and transferring the isolate to the laboratory for further tests. The tests carried out included morphological characterization, biochemical assays, physiological reactions, and potential enzymatic activities. Subsequently, dendrogram was constructed using MVSP (Multi-Variate Statistical Package) software with isolated grouping based on the Unweighted Pair Group Method Averages (UPGMA) algorithm. The similarity between isolates was analyzed using the Simple Matching Coefficient (SSM) similarity value. The dendrogram analysis revealed the presence of 3 clusters namely A (4 isolates), B (1 isolate), and C (2 isolates), with a similarity index of 0,543 to 0,857. Clusters A, B, and C had a similarity index of ≤0.700, indicating the occurrence of distinct species in each cluster. Based on the profile-matching results of key characters, the 7 bacterial isolates were identified as belonging to the genera Bacillus, Corynebacterium, and Mycobacterium.

Abstract

Abstrak Internet merupakan jaringan komputer yang saling terhubung diseluruh dunia. Internet ini memberikan kemudahan bagi siswa untuk menambah wawasan yang lebih luas dan pemahaman materi yang diajarkan oleh guru menjadi lebih mendalam. Internet juga memberikan kemudahan bagi guru yaitu, guru bisa mendapatkan bahan ajar yang lebih variatif. Instalasi motor listrik pada hakekatnya didesain atau perancangan instalasi motor listrik terletak pada ketepatan menganalisa spesifikasi yang direkomendasi oleh otoritas yang bersangkutan. Internet dizaman milenial ini sangat dibutuhkan untuk mengembangkan sumber belajar bagi siswa agar siswa memiliki wawasan yang luas terhadap materi-materi yang disampaikan oleh guru. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian tugas individu berbasis internet terhadap hasil belajar teknik instalasi motor listrik pada siswa kelas XI TITL SMK Dinamika Pembangunan 1 Jakarta Timur. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Januari 2020 sampai dengan Maret 2020. Metode yang digunakan adalah quasi experiment dengan nonequivalent control group design. Teknik sampling yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah  cluster sampling dengan 54 siswa sebagai sampel. Kelompok Eksperimen menggunakan internet sebagai sumber belajar dalam mengerjakan tugas individu sedangkan pada Kelas Kontrol menggunakan buku serta catatan dari guru sebagai sumber belajar dalam mengerjakan tugas individu. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan berupa tes pilihan ganda sebanyak 20 soal untuk mengukur hasil belajar instalasi motor listrik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruhdan perbedaan hasil belajar yang signifikan pada siswa kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol dengan nilai t hitung > t tabel pada taraf signifikansi 5% ( 4,13 > 1,671). Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemberian tugas individu berbasis internet memberikan pengaruh positif terhadap hasil belajar instalasi motor listrik siswa kelas XI TITL. Abstract The internet is a network of computers that are interconnected throughout the world. This internet makes it easy for students to add broader insights and deeper understanding of the material taught by the teacher. The internet also makes it easy for teachers, that is, teachers can get more varied teaching materials. Electrical motor installation is essentially designed or the design of electric motor installation lies in the accuracy of analyzing the specifications recommended by the relevant authorities. The internet in this millennial era is very much needed to develop learning resources for students so that students have a broad insight into the material delivered by the teacher. This study aims to determine the effect of individual internet-based assignments on learning outcomes of electric motor installation techniques for students of class XI TITL Vocational School, Dinamika Pembangunan 1 East Jakarta. This research was conducted in January 2020 until March 2020. The method used was a quasi experiment with nonequivalent control group design. The sampling technique used in this study was cluster sampling with 54 students as samples. The Experimental Group uses the internet as a learning resource in doing individual assignments while the Control Class uses books and notes from the teacher as a learning resource in doing individual assignments.The research instrument used was a multiple choice test of 20 questions to measure learning outcomes of electric motor installations. The results showed that there were significant learning outcomes and differences in the experimental class and control class students with the t value> t table at the 5% significance level (4.13> 1.671). So it can be concluded that the assignment of individual internet-based assignments has a positive influence on learning outcomes of electric motor installation of XI TITL students.

Abstract

Teaching factory is a real production-based learning method, such as making, selling products, or providing services in an educational environment. This study aims to assess the level of implementation of the Teaching Factory learning program on the expertise competency of Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineering (TPTU) at the Center of Excellence Vocational High School of the Special Region of Jakarta based on the objectives of the program itself (Goal Oriented). The approach used in this study is a mixed method with data collection techniques through interviews, observations, documentation, and questionnaires. This study was conducted at the Centre of Excellence Vocational School which organizes a learning Teaching Factory on the competence of refrigeration and air conditioning engineering expertise in the Special Region of Jakarta. The sample of this study consisted of 5 schools with an average evaluation result of 80,58%. Based on this value, it can be concluded that the implementation of the Teaching Factory on the competence of refrigeration and air conditioning engineering expertise at the SMK Pusat Keunggulan DK Jakarta was carried out well.

Abstract

Purpose – This study aims to examine the need to develop assessment instruments for higher-order thinking skills in teaching Engineering Mechanics in Vocational High Schools under the Construction and Property Technology Expertise Program and explore directions for future research.Methodology – This study employs a Traditional Literature Review approach to summarize, analyze, and synthesize over 100 scholarly sources from Google Scholar and Scopus databases from 2016 to 2025. The analysis uses keywords such as higher-order thinking skills (HOTS), assessment, Engineering Mechanics, vocational high schools (SMK), and test theory.Findings – The review findings indicate that the teaching of Engineering Mechanics in vocational high schools (SMK) has not yet optimally incorporated higher-order thinking skills (HOTS). Teachers tend to use test items based on classical test theory, which are limited in accurately measuring students' analytical and problem-solving skills. The assessment approaches employed have yet to consider the alignment of test items with students' characteristics.Contribution – This study contributes to the development of more accurate HOTS-based Engineering Mechanics assessment instruments through the application of modern test theory, while also enhancing the quality of teaching and assessment in Vocational High Schools specializing in Construction and Property Technology to better align with industry demands.

Abstract

This study evaluates the impact (effectiveness and outcome) of project-based vocational learning program in Electrical Power Installation programs (TITL) at vocational schools in Tangerang, Indonesia. Using the Goal Free Evaluation model and a mixed-methods approach, quantitatively, the study found that 93,93% of the program ran well. It identified 33 positive impacts that matched the program's goals, 2 negative impacts, and 6 unexpected positive outcomes for students such as curiosity, confidence, safety awareness, entrepreneurship, responsibility, and honesty. Addressing high vocational graduate unemployment, this research fills a gap by focusing on real impacts rather than predefined goals. The program is recommended to continue with improvements for better results.

Abstract

Desa Bedali, Kecamatan Ngancar, Kabupaten Kediri, merupakan suatu desa yang memiliki lahan nanas ± 75 Ha. Desa Bedali merupakan salah satu dari beberapa desa penghasil nanas, yang  memiliki rumpun nanas yang cukup banyak, dan merupakan salah satu sumber penghasilan utama. Pada saat pasca panen, kebanyakan petani hanya mengambil buah nanas, namun banyak daun nanas yang hanya dibakar dan dijadikan sebagai kompos. Oleh kerena itu, Tim KKN Abmas Teknologi Tepat Guna (TTG) berbasis produk telah melakukan inovasi untuk  pengolahan lebih lanjut residu daun nanas tersebut, sehingga dapat meningkatkan nilai ekonomi lebih tinggi. KKN Abmas merupakan suatu kegiatan dengan melibatkan mahasiswa, KKN Abmas berinovasi untuk merancang suatu alat yang dapat digunakan untuk memanfaatan residu daun nanas, berupa alat stripping merupakan lanjutan dari alat sebelumnya yaitu alat opening, untuk mengolah serat halus menjadi lebih halus, oleh karena itu alat stripping ini sangat dibutuhkan dalam memproduksi benang dari serat yang diperoleh dari daun nanas. Kemudian, serat halus yang dihasilkan dapat dibuat sebagai bahan baku kerajinan seperti pembuatan komposit, benang dan kain. Pelaksanaan KKN Abmas ini dilakukan dengan memberikan sosialisasi kepada kelompok tani, Balitbangda, Dinas Perdagangan di Desa Bedali, Kecamatan Ngancar, Kabupaten Kediri. Rencana kegiatan Abmas selanjutkan akan memberikan pelatihan Pembuatan zat warna untuk pewarnaan benang, dan kain hasil proses tenun kepada kelompok tani di Kabupaten Kediri.

Abstract

Mikrobiologi memiliki peran penting dalam berbagai sektor industri, mulai dari pangan, farmasi, hingga bioteknologi. Mikroorganisme berkontribusi signifikan dalam proses fermentasi untuk produksi makanan dan minuman. Selain itu, peran dalam sektor pengolahan limbah, mikroorganisme digunakan untuk bioremediasi, yaitu penguraian limbah dan polutan menjadi bahan yang tidak berbahaya, mendukung praktik industri yang lebih berkelanjutan. Dengan berkembangnya pemanfaatan mikroorganisme dalam dunia industri, Departemen Teknik Kimia Industri melakukan pengabdian masyarakatya dengan mengadakan pelatihan aplikasi mikrobiologi kepada guru-guru SMK bidang teknik kimia seluruh Jawa Timur yang merupakan sebagai upaya meningkatkan kompetensi kepada guru-guru SMK bidang teknik kimia di Jawa Timur. Pelatihan ini telah berlangsung 17 Juli – 28 Agustus 2024 yang berkolaborasi dengan praktisi industri biodiesel serta ditutup dengan mengunjungi beberapa SMK di Jawa Timur. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini berhasil ditandai dengan peningkatan pemahaman para peserta dan keikutsertaan peserta dalam melaksanakan akutualisasi diri.

Abstract

Literacy is essential for academic success, social engagement, and long-term career prospects. This study analyzes literacy improvements under the Independent Curriculum from 2023 to 2025 using the Education Report Card. The analysis evaluates the curriculum's impact on literacy, readiness for high school, and the role of literacy in social engagement. The study used a longitudinal approach, collecting education reports, teacher and student interviews, and annual surveys. This provided a comprehensive view of literacy development. Results showed significant improvement during the study. By 2025, all students will have achieved minimum literacy competencies, and 73.68% exceeded the standards. The findings highlight the value of collaborative projects, such as fake news analysis and gender equality campaigns, in strengthening text evaluation and critical thinking. However, challenges remain, including limited funding for technology and achievement disparities. The study emphasizes the need for coordination between curriculum policies, teacher training, and inclusive learning environments to maintain literacy gains. The findings should help policymakers and educators design effective and sustainable literacy strategies to meet future educational demands.
