Abstract

The lack of understanding of how the synergy between classroom management and school climate affects student learning outcomes, especially in PJOK, is the main reason for conducting this study. This study aims to understand how effective classroom management strategies and a positive school climate can affect student engagement, motivation, and achievement in the classroom. This study fills a gap in previous research that has not discussed much about the interaction between the two in depth. Using a systematic literature review, article selection uses a prism flow chart by analyzing studies from journals in the last 10 years from nationally accredited journals and reputable international journals searched on Google Scholar, Mendeley, Science direct.com. The results showed that good classroom management increased student focus, while a supportive school climate encouraged motivation and a sense of belonging. The novelty of this research lies in its approach that highlights the synergy of these two factors in Physical Education. However, this study is limited to the scope of the literature and analysis methods that can affect the generalization of the results. These findings provide insights for educators in creating a more effective learning environment.

Abstract

The ability to control objects is an ability that children must master. Mastery of object control is obtained from one of them from the learning process obtained at school. This learning process can provide students with learning strategies. The study aimed to determine the effect of learning strategies and coordination skills on the ability to control objects in children in elementary school. This research method is quasi-experimental, involving 60 male and female students in grade 5, and the sampling technique used is total sampling. The instruments used in this study on object skills used the test of gross motor development 2nd edition subtest. Movement coordination data uses instruments consisting of anthropometry, balance beams, moving sideways, jumping sideways, and eye-hand coordination. The data were analyzed using the two-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) technique with the help of SPSS 26. Based on the research findings, the TGfU learning approach group had the best average score of 33.86 among other groups. The conclusions of this study show that the object control ability of students with low coordination is better if given conventional learning strategies than TGfU, as evidenced by a value (p < 0.05). The conclusion that can be drawn from this study is that TGfU learning strategies influence the ability to control objects in children in elementary school, and there is an interaction between coordination and learning strategies.

Abstract

Technical mastery of the Dollyo Chagi kick in martial arts learning is not solely determined by isolated physical abilities but emerges from the interaction of physical and psychological factors. Previous studies have predominantly examined flexibility, explosive power, and motivation separately, resulting in fragmented understanding of their combined role in technical skill development. This narrative review aims to synthesize and conceptualize the interrelated contributions of flexibility, lower-limb explosive power, and motivation in learning and executing the Dollyo Chagi kick. A qualitative narrative synthesis was conducted on peer-reviewed national and international literature published between 2018 and 2025, selected through purposive sampling. The findings indicate that flexibility functions as a biomechanical prerequisite enabling effective movement range and technical control, while explosive power acts as a performance amplifier that enhances kick speed and force when technical foundations are established. Motivation emerges as a psychological mediator that sustains training engagement and supports consistent skill acquisition. This review highlights the need for an integrated training and pedagogical approach, providing a conceptual framework to inform future empirical research and evidence-based coaching in martial arts education.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the improvement of the character of karate extracurricular participants through the implementation of karate values in the activity, as well as to compare differences in children's character before and after participating in training for 3 months. The research method used is qualitative with data collection through interviews, observation, and documentation, and the validity of the data is tested by triangulation. The results showed that the application of karate values was successful in shaping the character of extracurricular participants. Training ceremonies, discipline, and playtime activities are well integrated, making the child happy and not bored. Karate vows also have a positive impact, such as increased personality, honesty, fighting power, ethics, and self-control. The implementation of the first karate vow succeeded in improving the child's personality by increasing social interaction and mutual respect. Although character still needs to be improved, character education through karate helps parents in imparting positive values to children. The second karate vow, which emphasizes honesty, is reflected in the child's courage to admit his mistakes. While the third to fifth karate vows, which emphasize achievement, courtesy, and self-control, are also successfully applied and improve the child's character in a better direction. Thus, this study concluded that the implementation of karate values in extracurricular exercises is able to shape children's character, including aspects of personality, honesty, fighting power, ethics, and self-control.

Abstract

Early identification of sport talent is vital for systematic athlete development and long-term success. However, validated tools for detecting early volleyball talent are scarce, especially for children aged 6–9 years. This study developed and validated the Early Volleyball Anthropometric Talent Test (EVATT-6/9) as a reliable and practical instrument based on anthropometric indicators. Using a research and development (R&D) design with a mixed-methods approach, 90 students (45 boys, 45 girls) from three elementary schools in Pekanbaru, Indonesia, were tested on seven indicators: body height, arm span, standing reach, leg length, upper-arm circumference, hand length, and calf circumference. Analyses included Aiken’s V, Exploratory and Confirmatory Factor Analyses, and reliability tests (Cronbach’s ?, ICC). All indicators showed strong content validity (Aiken’s V > 0.90) and excellent reliability (? = 0.87; ICC = 0.89). Two latent factors—upper-body reach/control and lower-body power/support—explained 72.4% of variance, and criterion validity was confirmed (r = 0.68, p < 0.01). EVATT-6/9 is valid, reliable, and practical for early volleyball talent identification in school and grassroots settings.
