Abstract

This research comes from Physical Education lessons in elementary schools, it is clear that children's movements are not good. Even though these basic movement skills are very important for children, especially elementary school age children. in the learning process which aims to reveal the influence of learning strategies and motivation on elementary school students' learning of basic Object Control movements. This type of research is a quasi-experiment. The sample for this research consisted of 20 Class V students at SD 22 Ujung Gurun Kec. Padang Barat Kota Padang uses Total Sampling. The results of this research show that: (1) Basic Object Control Movement Skills given with Exploration style results are higher than Command style (Qh = 5.01 > Qt = 2.983), (2) There is an interaction between learning strategies and achievement motivation on ability children's basic Object Control movements (Fh = 11.77 > Ft = 4.08), (3) With high achievement motivation, the basic Object Control movement abilities of children in the group given the Exploration style were higher than those given the command style (Qh = 5.44 > Qt = 3.216), (4) In low achievement motivation, the basic motor skills of Object Control group children who were given the Exploration style were lower than the Command style (Qh = 56.44 > Qt = 3.216).

Abstract

Based on the poor dribbling abilities of SSB Karya Muda Tanjung Pinang pupils, this study was conducted. The following are the objectives of this study: (1) to compare dribbling skills trained with drill methods and small side games (SSG); (2) to compare dribbling skills with low and high coordination; (3) to compare coordination abilities with training methods; (4) to compare dribbling skills trained with drill methods and SSG; and (5) to compare dribbling skills trained with drill methods and SSG.The type of research used is quasi-experimental. Purposive sampling was used to choose the sample, which included 32 students between the ages of 9 and 12. Instruments used: dribbling test and KTK. Data were analyzed using a two-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) technique with a 2x2 factorial design. Research results: 1) There are differences in the dribbling technique abilities of students in the SSG and drill training strategy groups (p < 0.05). 2) There is a difference in the dribbling technique abilities of students in the high and low coordination groups (p < 0.05). 3) There is an interaction between training strategy and coordination (p < 0.05). 4) There are differences in the dribbling technical abilities of students in the SSG and drill strategy groups with high coordination (Qcount 15.99 < Qtable 3.85). 5) There are differences in the dribbling technical abilities of students who are given SSG and drill training strategies with coordination (Qcount 6.27 < Qtable 3.85). The study's findings show that, although having similar levels

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of game-based learning strategies versus conventional approaches on developing elementary school students' basic volleyball skills. Using an experimental design, two groups received different treatments: game-based learning and conventional methods. The sample consisted of 60 fifth-grade students, assessed for fundamental motor skills using the TGMD-2 subtest and basic volleyball techniques using the AHHPERD instrument designed for ages 10-18. Data analysis using descriptive statistics and a 2x2 ANOVA yielded the following findings: (1) Game-based learning strategies were more effective than conventional approaches in improving basic volleyball technique skills (p = 0.030), (2) Students with high fundamental motor skills (FMS) showed significantly better basic volleyball technique skills compared to those with low FMS (p = 0.039), (3) There was a significant interaction between learning strategies and students' FMS (p = 0.013), indicating varying effectiveness based on FMS levels, (4) Game-based learning strategies were more effective in enhancing basic volleyball technique skills in students with high FMS compared to conventional methods (p = 0.003), (5) Conventional learning strategies were more effective than game-based approaches in improving basic volleyball skills in students with low FMS (p = 0.011.

Abstract

This investigation was undertaken to rigorously analyze the locomotor skill proficiency of students attending SD Negeri 03 Lima Kaum, Tanah Datar. Adopting a quantitative descriptive research design, the study sought to delineate, elucidate, and synthesize the spectrum of conditions and phenomena pertinent to the locomotor abilities exhibited by the student population under investigation. Data acquisition was facilitated through the administration of the locomotor subtest of the Test of Gross Motor Development-Second Edition (TGMD-2), a standardized and validated instrument for assessing fundamental movement skills. A purposive sampling strategy was employed to select a representative cohort of twenty students for participation in the study, ensuring focused data collection relevant to the research objectives. The resultant quantitative data were subsequently subjected to descriptive statistical analysis, specifically percentage distribution, to ascertain the prevalence of varying locomotor skill levels within the sampled population. The findings of this analysis revealed a heterogeneous distribution of locomotor skill classifications among the participants: (1) eight students (40%) demonstrated “Competent” locomotor skills, achieving scores within the 34-37 range; (2) five students (25%) were classified as exhibiting “Moderate” locomotor skills; (3) six students (30%) presented with “Deficient” locomotor skills; and (4) a single student (5%) was categorized as possessing “Inadequate” locomotor skills. The calculated mean locomotor skill level for the entire student sample fell within the “Moderate” classification. This central tendency suggests a potential area for pedagogical focus, indicating the possible necessity for the implementation of targeted interventions designed to enhance the fundamental locomotor competencies of this student population. Further research exploring the underlying factors contributing to these observed skill levels is warranted to inform the development of effective instructional strategies.
