Abstract

This research discusses a café in Makassar City called Pyur for You Café, which decided to rebrand when it was threatened with permanent closure due to the Covid-19 pandemic in 2021. The café previously had a work-friendly concept and was then rebranded as a semi-pub café, which implemented emotional branding. This study aims to analyze the Pyur For You café, discuss the background of the Pyur For You café in choosing to apply emotional branding to a new café concept, discuss the process of creating its identity, and analyze how the Pyur For You café applies the emotional aspect of branding to a new concept. So that consumers are attached to the café and prefer the Pyur For You Café over other competitors. This research is a qualitative case study with informants from the café, namely, the owner and staff, who understand the application of emotional branding. The author also randomly selected five consumers who met in the Pyur For You café area to conduct in-depth interviews. The results of the interviews regarding rebranding were analyzed through the four basic pillars of emotional branding, according to Marc Gobe. The findings show that the Pyur For You café has implemented the basic concept of emotional branding, which is communicated through relationships with consumers, the interior design of the café, events held, and food served. However, its application can still be maximized.

Abstract

Tantangan utama Pendidikan di abad 21 yaitu menyiapkan dan menjamin para siswa agar mampu dan terampil dalam belajar, beradaptasi dengan inovasi menggunakan dan memanfaatkan teknologi komunikasi dan informasi. Dalam ranah Pendidikan, guru dan siswa sebagai peserta didik, diharapkan memeliki kemampuan dan keterampilan yang berkaitan dengan berpikir kritis dan solutif dalam memecahkan masalah, berkomunikasi dengan baik dan efektif, kreatif dan inovatif serta mampu membangun jaringan dan atau kolaborasi dengan banyak pihak yang berkepentingan secara luas. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode ceramah dan diskusi disertai contoh kasus. Kegiatan Pengabdian Pada Masyarakat dijalankan di dua Sekolah Dasar Negeri yang terletak di wilayah Bandung, yaitu SDN Banjarsari dan SDN Kencana Indah II yang berlokasi di Kabupaten Bandung. Pelatihan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman mengenai perkembangan serta pentingnya literasi media digital yang sangat terkait dengan evolusi industri 4.0. Hasil dari kegiatan PPM ini, yang diperoleh melalui pre-test dan post-test, menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan dalam pemahaman para guru dan peserta didik terkait penggunaan dan pengelolaan konten yang positif dari berbagai platform internet, seperti email, Facebook, Twitter, dan Instagram. Selama pelaksanaan PPM, kami berfokus pada memberikan pengetahuan yang dapat membantu para peserta untuk mengenali dan memahami bagaimana mengelola konten secara bijaksana dan positif di era digital.

Abstract

NETWORK STRUCTURE OF X SOCIAL MEDIA USERS WITH NOVIRALNOJUSTICE HASHTAG The hashtag NoViralNoJustice has become a topic of discussion on social media X due to a case that is perceived as being inadequately addressed by the police, which only began to be processed once it went viral. The purpose of this research is to describe the structure and types of networks that exist within discussions on social media X using the hashtag NoViralNoJustice. The social network analysis method is employed in this study through participatory observation on social media X. The results of this research reveal various structures and types of networks formed based on the hashtag NoViralNoJustice. Within this network, there are five main components, each with its own member actors. The actor @asumsico has the highest number of connections, with 121 relationships with other actors. Additionally, there are five actors who serve as bridges between the main network and other networks. The type of network formed is a two-mode type with a wheel communication pattern characterized by asymmetric relationships. This research, through network visualization, demonstrates that several actors can effectively convey messages on social media and can influence public policy. This insight can certainly be used by institutions as a benchmark in social media engagement. Hashtag NoViralNoJustice menjadi perbincangan di sosial media X akibat dari kasus yang dianggap kurang ditanggapi oleh kepolisian dan baru diproses ketika sudah viral. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menggambarkan struktur dan jenis jaringan yang ada dalam diskusi di media sosial X yang menggunakan hashtag NoViralNoJustice. Metode analisis jaringan sosial digunakan dalam penelitian ini dengan melaksanakan observasi secara partisipatif di media sosial X. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan berbagai struktur dan jenis jaringan yang terbentuk berdasarkan hashtag NoViralNoJustice. Dalam jaringan ini, ada lima komponen utama, masing-masing dengan anggota komponen mereka sendiri. Aktor @asumsico memiliki jumlah hubungan terbanyak, dengan 121 hubungan dengan aktor lain. Selain itu, ada lima aktor yang berfungsi sebagai penghubung antara jaringan utama dan jaringan lainnya. Tipe jaringan yang terbentuk adalah tipe dua mode dan pola komunikasi roda dengan hubungan asimetris. Penelitian ini, melalui visualisasi jaringan komunikasi, menunjukkan bahwa beberapa aktor dapat melakukan penyampaian pesan yang efektif di media sosial dan dapat membentuk kebijakan publik, hal ini tentunya dapat digunakan institusi sebagai tolak ukur dalam bermedia sosial.

Abstract

Anies Rasyid Baswedan is a politician with an academic background. He joined two other contenders as a candidate in The Presidential Election of 2024, which required him to participate in The 2024 Presidential Candidate Debate. Compared to the other candidates, Anies was thought to have had strong performance and rhetorical abilities, particularly in discussions pertaining to education. Thus, the purpose of this study is to evaluate the rhetoric used by Anies Baswedan to bring up the subject of education in Indonesia during the 2024 presidential debate. This research uses a constructivist paradigm and descriptive qualitative research methods. Three types of rhetorical evidence are examined in this study using an Aristotelian rhetorical approach: ethos, pathos, and logos. In this study, seven units of analysis were examined. Eight ethos forms, four pathos forms, and eight logos forms were identified by the researchers from the seven units of study. The analysis's findings demonstrate Anies Baswedan's proficiency and effectiveness with rhetoric in influencing listeners during political campaigns.

Abstract

The goal has been to conduct a global analysis of communication technology for people with disabilities. As a result, the purpose of this research is to categorize issues and concepts connected to the study of technological innovation. 6204 indexed papers from Scopus, issued by major publishers such as Springer, Emerald, Sage, MDPI, Taylor Francis, and ScienceDirect, were collected through descriptive analysis. The findings classified topics in the research of communication technology for people with disabilities into five categories: disability, disabled person, communication, adolescent, and education. Furthermore, it is linked to crucial concerns such as accessibility, quality of life, interpersonal communication, hearing impairment, and learning. This study implies how the conceptual findings of a study on communication technology for people with disabilities may assist in the development of a conceptual framework for future research. The study's limitation is that peer-reviewed publications were only acquired from the Scopus database. As a result, recommendations for future research necessitate the use of a comparative analytic approach, such as Scopus Databases and Web of Science (WoS).

Abstract

Kebaya, a symbol of national identity and cultural heritage in Indonesia, has evolved through the nation’s historical and social journey. In the digital era, kebaya is being revitalized on social media platforms like TikTok. The research aims to discover how Rania Yamin popularizes Kebaya through TikTok media by combining modern elements to make it fashionable and attractive to the younger generation. This study employs qualitative content analysis to understand and interpret visual data. Researchers analyzed Rania Yamin’s ten most popular TikTok posts from January to December 2023. The findings reveal that kebaya is central to Rania’s content, often paired with contemporary fashion styles that reflect the dynamic lifestyles of women. TikTok is an effective platform for cultural promotion, particularly in visualizing kebaya, thus increasing public interest in Indonesia. The study highlights that Rania Yamin’s content strategies, such as personal narratives and engaging visuals, significantly contribute to kebaya’s popularity among young audiences. These findings suggest that TikTok and influencers like Rania Yamin play a crucial role in preserving culture through a flexible approach accepted by young people. This research provides insights into using social media platforms like TikTok to popularize and preserve cultural heritage in a modern context. It also shows how relevant and engaging content can boost Audience engagement and participation, especially among younger generations who frequently use TikTok.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui sejauh mana hubungan antara informasi pada akun Instagram @bijakmemilih.id dengan sikap followers mengenai debat capres dan cawapres. Hubungan informasi dengan sikap followers diukur melalui valensi dan bobotnya. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menguji teori integrasi informasi dengan mencoba mengetahui sejauh mana hubungan antara valensi informasi pada akun Instagram @bijakmemilih.id dengan sikap followers dan sejauh mana bobot informasi pada akun Instagram @bijakmemilih.id dengan sikap followers. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif, melalui uji hipotesis rank spearman dengan teknik analisis deskriptif dan inferensial. Responden penelitian ini sebanyak 89 orang yang terpilih berdasarkan teknik simple random sampling. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan melalui PhantomBuster dan Random.org. Teknik pengambilan data yang digunakan yaitu angket kuesioner, observasi, dan studi kepustakaan. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa informasi pada akun Instagram @bijakmemilih.id memiliki hubungan yang kuat dengan sikap followers. Hal tersebut disebabkan oleh elemen valensi dan bobot informasi yang positif dan memiliki hubungan dengan perubahan sikap followers. Simpulan dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa valensi informasi dengan sikap memiliki hubungan yang cukup kuat. Sedangkan, bobot informasi dengan sikap followers memiliki yang hubungan kuat.

Abstract

Background: Digital transformation, in this sense, means incorporating digital technology into many aspects of higher education, including learning, teaching, administration, and research. Purpose: This research aimed to generate a framework that is more knowledgeable than it was by utilizing digital technologies. In education, digital evolution attempts to establish an effective pleasant learning environment for everyone involved in a Smart Learning Environment. Methods: It employed an explanatory database analysis with multiple linear regression to examine the influencing factors of West Java’s higher education digital transformation. Results: The results indicated that digital transformation promotes more efficient work. However, there are also disadvantages, including reduced versatility, increased levels of student participation, and greater interaction among universities. It assures that the technology is dependable, functional, and satisfies stakeholders’ requirements. As they must adjust to the digital age and incorporate new methods and practices, higher education institutions play a significant role in the transition of the educational field. Conclusion: In education, digital transformation has demonstrated positive impacts, such as faster and more efficient work processes and increased access to information. Digital transformation also presents negative aspects, such as loss of flexibility, increased student involvement, and increased interactivity between universities. Implications: The application of technology information systems in higher education is significant for developing the education system. Transforming information technology systems in higher education is a strategic and enlightening vision for organizations, increasing efficiency, productivity, and accessibility.

Abstract

The development of communication and information technology supports the use of various media to convey messages or information to the public. Therefore, the National Police of the Republic of Indonesia, as one of the largest institutions in Indonesia, is expected to be proactive in utilizing new media to utilize information. Various new policies will be implemented, including using the NCO as the spearhead of public communication in this digital era. However, these non-commissioned officers are uncomfortable sitting in their position as public relations officers who act as police communicators with digital technology that accompanies their work. This study explores the adaptation process carried out by young non-commissioned officers who manage police communications through social media and the obstacles they face in the adaptation process. To explore these activities, the researchers will use two theories: technological adaptation and the Social Construction of Technology. This research is a case study research with the descriptive data type. Data collection is based on interviews, observation, and also documentation. The results and discussion of this research show that public relations personnel at the West Java Police must adapt because they do not have a qualified educational background in public relations, especially communication in the digital era. SOPs and management for communication depend on what the leader is inclined to do. Public Relations personnel attended training from within the police organization. However, the training cannot improve their abilities in the short term. Ensuring that our Regional Police have SOPs in managing social media and conducting training could be the problem-solving needed.

Abstract

The trend of using fixed broadband internet has resulted in increasing competition among internet business sector providers. Link Net as one of the affected companies conducted several communication strategies to surpass competitors in gaining market share levels. To ensure the success of this strategy, Link Net worked closely with Praxis in implementing a media relations strategy to generate positive news publications. However, Link Net's highest level of publication in the mass media is in fact not directly proportional to the level of market share among competitors. The purpose of this research is to find out the media relations strategy used by Praxis to generate positive news publications for Link Net amid competitors along with its objectives and implementation process. The research used a case study method with a qualitative approach. Research data were obtained through interviews, observations, and literature studies. The results showed that Praxis' media relations strategy is divided into three, namely media event, relationship management, and relationship development. These three strategies are carried out to achieve three specific objectives, which is to convey public information, obtain high credibility marketing, and resolve crises. The implementation of Praxis' media relations strategy is carried out through research, preparation, implementation, and evaluation. Overall, Praxis' media relations strategy has been carried out ideally. However, there is still room for development for Praxis to implement strategies more creatively, maximize value, and complete technical aspects, such as standardizing SOPs and division of labor for each team member, so that the resulting publications can have a significant influence on Link Net's market share level.
