Abstract

This study aimed to compare and determine the hatchability inhibition of the tree sorrel extract (Averrhoa bilimbi L.) and snake plant as natural ovicide of apple snail (Pomacea canaliculata L.). This study employed the completely randomized design (CRD). The negative controls were the extracts with the concentrations of 1%, 1.5%, 2%, 2.5%, 3%, and a positive control. Data analysis used was one-way ANOVA and then continued by Least Significant Difference (LSD) test. The results showed that tree sorrel extract with 3% concentration had the highest inhibitory on the hatchability of apple snail eggs compared to the snake plant extract (Sansevieria trifasciata P.) with a comparison value of 19.47%. Perbandingandaya Hambat Tetas Telur Keong Mas dari Buah Belimbing Wuluh dan Daun Lidah MertuaAbstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini untuk membandingkan dan mengetahui daya hambat tetas telur keong mas dari ekstrak buah belimbing wuluh (Averrhoa bilimbi L.) dan daun lidah mertua sebagai ovisida alami keong mas (Pomacea canaliculata L.). Desain penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan konsentrasi yaitu kontrol negatif, 1%, 1,5%, 2%, 2,5%, 3% dan kontrol positif. Analisis data menggunakan uji One Way Anova dilanjutkan dengan ujiBeda NyataTerkecil (BNT). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak buah belimbing wuluh dengan konsentrasi 3% mempunyai daya hambat tertinggi terhadap penetasan telur keong mas dibandingkan ekstrak daun lidah mertua (Sansevieria trifasciata P.), yaitu sebesar 19,47%.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the type of fruit fly (Bactrocera spp) that attacks several fruit plants. Class I Bengkulu. Sampling was carried with random sampling technique. The methods used is descriptive eksploratory. The results of this study were obtained, there are 4 species of Bactrocera spp that attack several fruit plants, namely Bactrocera albistrigata, Bactrocera cucurbitae, Bactrocera umbrosa, and Bactrocera papayae with characteristics on the abdomen, thorax, and wingsAbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui jenis lalat buah (Bactrocera spp) yang menyerang beberapa tanaman buah. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan di Stasiun Karantina Pertanian Kelas I Bengkulu dengan teknik random sampling. Metode yang digunakan, yaitu deskriptif eksploriatif. Hasil penelitian ini didapatkan 4 spesies Bactrocera spp yang menyerang beberapa tanaman buah, yaitu Bactrocera albistrigata, Bactrocera cucurbitae, Bactrocera umbrosa, dan Bactrocera papayae dengan ciri utama pembeda terletak pada bagian abdomen, toraks, dan sayap

Abstract

COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand) is the amount of oxygen used to degrade organic substances present in water through chemical processes. The magnitude of the COD value indicates that there is a significant amount of organic matter in the water. These organic substances convert oxygen into carbon dioxide and water, resulting in oxygen depletion in the water. The method used involves absorbance analysis using a spectrophotometer. The data are analyzed through duplicate analysis. This research aims to determine the COD levels in surface water and wastewater from mining companies, which can serve as indicators of environmental pollution. The research findings indicate that the COD levels in the domestic wastewater from the coal mining company meet quality standards with values of 20mg/L and 32mg/L.AbstrakCOD (Chemical Oxygen Demand) adalah jumlah oksigen yang digunakan untuk mendegradasi bahan organik yang terkandung di dalam air melalui proses kimiawi. Besarnya angka COD tersebut menunjukkan bahwa keberadaan zat organik di air berada dalam jumlah yang besar. Organik-organik tersebut mengubah oksigen menjadi karbondioksida dan air sehingga perairan akan mengalami kekurangan oksigen. Metode yang digunakan yaitu analisis absorbansi menggunakan spektrofotometer. Data dianalisis dengan analisis duplo. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kadar COD pada air permukaan dan air limbah perusahaan tambang yang dapat digunakan sebagai indikator pencemaran lingkungan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kadar COD limbah domestik perusahaan batubara memenuhi batu mutu dengan nilai 20mg/L dan 32mg/L.

Abstract

Traditional medicinal plants hold a crucial role in public health in rural areas where medical facilities are limited. People often rely on plants as medicinal raw materials. This study aims to investigate ethnobotany and inventory the types of medicinal plants used by the residents of Pelabai Village, Lebong Regency, Bengkulu Province. Data were collected through interviews using snowball sampling and analyzed desriptively. Semi-structured interviews with open-ended questions and direct observations of daily activities were conducted. Twenty respondents who knew, understood, and used plants as alternative medicine were selected. The study identified 30 plant species in the village used for traditional medicine. Leaves were the most commonly used plant part for medicinal purposes (76.67%), followed by stems (23.33%), rhizomes (13.33%), roots (10%), sap (6.67%), and other parts such as gel, flowers, fruit, and stem bark (3.33%). The plants were prepared for medicinal use through boiling, mashing, grating, dripping, squeezing, sticking, chewing, or direct consumption. Plant were used to treat various minor ailments including nausea, aches, skin diseases, beauty enhancement, respiratory issues, cholesterol, and hypertension.

Abstract

The vegetation composition and structure influence the dynamic of coastal ecosystem at Cemara beach, Kualo Bengkulu. Vegetation play a key role in protecting the environment from natural disasters such as tsunamis, coastal erosion, wave, habitat destruction, and water degradation. Therefore, understanding it is crucial for providing data on coastal vegetation and the impacts of disturbances. This study aims to present baseline data on vegetation composition and structure and carbon stocks. This supporting sustainable coastal forest management as a coastal mitigation effort. The method used purposive sampling with quadratic-transec plot to analyzed vegetation, carbon stocks, and environmental factors. The measurement results are as follows: light intensity in shaded areas was 941 cd, in exposed areas 1465 cd, soil pH 6.8, temperature 36.3°C, wind strength 2.3 knots, and air humidity 58 Rh. Sampling was carried out by counting vegetation in the strata of stakes, poles, and trees. while carbon stocks were calculated in poles and trees. The study obtained 12 types of plants in details: the sapling  was dominated by Terminalia catappa (IVI: 61%), the poles were dominated by Pandanus utilis (IVI: 181.96) and the trees were dominated by Casuarina equisetifolia (IVI: 251.89).

Abstract

This study aims to examine the principal’s strategies in managing inter-teacher conflict at SMKS Bina Mandiri Gorontalo, based on the limited research regarding school leadership roles in conflict management within vocational education settings. Effective conflict resolution plays a critical role in fostering a harmonious and collaborative work environment. A qualitative descriptive method was employed, with data collected through in-depth interviews with the principal and three teachers selected using purposive sampling. Thematic analysis was used to identify patterns in conflict resolution strategies. The findings reveal that inter-teacher conflicts are generally triggered by differences in teaching methods, miscommunication, and imbalances in task distribution. The principal adopted mediation and participatory approaches, including deliberation, open dialogue, self-reflection, and fair and transparent decision-making. These strategies were positively received by the teachers, as they contributed to improving working relationships and enhancing team synergy. The main conclusion of this study is that successful conflict resolution is significantly influenced by the principal’s emotional intelligence and dialogical competence. These findings contribute to the literature on human resource management in education and offer practical recommendations for school principals to strengthen interpersonal communication and build a supportive and conducive work environment.

Abstract

Advancements in information and computer technology, particularly in machine learning, have significantly alleviated human tasks. One of the current primary focuses is facial expression recognition using deep learning methods such as Convolutional Neural Network (CNN). Complex models like CNNs often encounter issues such as gradient vanishing and overfitting. This study aims to enhance the accuracy of CNN models in facial expression recognition by incorporating additional convolutional layers, dropout layers, and optimizing hyperparameters using Grid Search. The research utilizes the FER2013 public dataset sourced from the Kaggle website, trained and evaluated using CNN models, hyperparameter tuning, and downsampling methods. FER2013 comprises thousands of facial images representing various human expressions, with a specific focus on four facial expression categories (angry, happy, neutral, and sad). Through the addition of convolutional and dropout layers, as well as hyperparameter optimization, the developed model demonstrates a significant improvement in accuracy. Findings reveal that the refined CNN model achieves a highest accuracy of 98.89%, with testing accuracy at 89%, precision 78%, recall 78%, and F1-score 78%. This research contributes by enhancing facial expression recognition accuracy through optimized CNN models and providing a framework beneficial for the social-emotional development of children with special needs and aiding in the detection of mental health conditions. Additionally, it identifies avenues for future research, including exploring advanced data augmentation techniques and integrating multimodal information. Furthermore, this study paves the way for applications across diverse fields like human-computer interaction and mental health diagnostics.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan aplikasi multimedia yang memudahkan jamaah dan masyarakat dalam mengamalkan ibadah sunnah, khususnya pembacaan Sholawat dan Maulid Addiya'ulami, tanpa mengabaikan ibadah wajib. Metode pengembangan yang digunakan adalah Multimedia Development Life Cycle, yang terdiri dari enam tahap: konsep, perancangan, pengumpulan bahan, pembuatan, pengujian, dan distribusi.Konsep pengembangan aplikasi ini mencakup identifikasi audiens, aturan dasar perancangan, dan spesifikasi arsitektur program. Tahap perancangan meliputi spesifikasi gaya, tampilan, dan kebutuhan materi. Selanjutnya, tahap pengumpulan bahan dilakukan untuk mengumpulkan semua materi yang dibutuhkan. Tahap pembuatan melibatkan rangkaian materi yang dirangkai berdasarkan desain dari storyboard dan struktur navigasi. Tahap pengujian dilakukan untuk memeriksa kesalahan setelah tahap pembuatan selesai. Tahap distribusi melibatkan implementasi aplikasi dan evaluasi. Hasil penelitian ini mencakup pemahaman tentang konsep Sholawat, jenis-jenis Sholawat, dan penggunaan bahasa pemrograman C# dalam pembuatan aplikasi. Pembahasan hasil penelitian didukung oleh kajian pustaka yang relevan. Selanjutnya, konsep aplikasi Sholawat ini dijelaskan dengan tujuan meningkatkan perkembangan Majelis Taklim dan Sholawat Assalam melalui aplikasi yang dapat diakses melalui perangkat smartphone Android.

Abstract

Sayuran dan buah-buahan merupakan sumber berbagai vitamin, mineral, dan serat pangan. Selain menyediakan zat gizi, sayur dan buah juga memiliki senyawa fitokimia yang dapat berperan sebagai antioksidan, antiinflamasi, dan senyawa fungsional lain seperti glikemik yang rendah. Pengolahan sayur dan buah menjadi nugget dikalangan masyarakat merupakan salah satu upaya untuk meningkatkan konsumsi sayur dan buah pada anak balita. Namun, praktik pembuatan nugget sayur dan buah ini belum umum dilakukan secara mandiri di rumah tangga termasuk di Kelurahan Duyu. Tingkat pendidikan dan pendapatan yang tersegmentasi menjadi salah satu karakteristik masyarakat di Kelurahan Duyu, selain itu prevalensi stunting di kelurahan ini juga masih membutuhkan intervensi serius. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah meningkatkan pengetahuan peserta dan melakukan demo pembuatan nugget sayur dan buah. Manfaat dari yang dicapai dalam kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah peserta dapat mengetahui cara membuat aneka nugget berbasis sayur dan buah yang lebih menarik, bervariatif dan bergizi, serta dapat meningkatkan pendapatan masyarakat yang berdampak pada peningkatan kesejahteraan keluarga di Kelurahan Duyu Kota Palu. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan pelatihan ini adalah: 1) Metode demo : digunakan untuk menjelaskan materi dan melakukan demo cara membuat nugget. 2) Metode praktik : digunakan bagi peserta untuk membuat nugget sebagaimana yang telah didemokan . 3) Metode Diskusi : Dilakukan setelah kegiatan selesai kegiatan pelatihan untuk mengetahui respon peserta. Peserta dalam kegiatan pelatihan ini adalah masyarakat Kelurahan Duyu Kota Palu. Hasil pengabdian berupa terlaksananya edukasi pembuatan nugget, serta demo dan pembagian nugget kepada masyarakat Kelurahan Duyu, Kota Palu.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis yang rendah. Pendekatan Open-Ended merupakan salah satu pengembangan yang muncul dari pendekatan pemecahan masalah. Dalam permasalahan tersebut dapat diterapkan model pembelajaran kooperatif dengan pendekatan Open Ended Problem dimana guru menjadikan permasalahan dalam pembelajaran dapat terselesaikan dengan berbagai macam solusi melalui pemecahan masalah. Kemampuan ini merupakan salah satu faktor eksternal yang berperan penting dalam menentukan hasil belajar siswa. Seperti diketahui bahwa NCTM merekomendasikan bahwa fokus pembelajaran matematika adalah pemecahan masalah. Pemberian Open Ended Problems atau problem terbuka artinya permasalahan dengan pemecahan berbagai cara (flexibility) dan solusinya juga bisa beragam (multi jawab, fluency). Pendekatan ini juga menjadi pemicu untuk mempelajari pendekatan open ended problem.
