Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan hasil analisis kebutuhan siswa terhadap media pembelajaran Software Construct 2 pada mata pelajaran Peredaran Darah Manusia. Analisis kebutuhan siswa ini difokuskan pada siswa sekolah menengah Pertama di kota Pekanbaru. Metode yang dipilih untuk pengumpulan data adalah metode kuantitatif dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Sampel yang digunakan untuk mendapatkan data adalah responden siswa sekolah menengah Pertama di kota Pekanbaru yang dipilih secara acak di kelas VIII dan terdiri atas 20 orang responden. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara dan pengisian kuesioner berupa angket. Hasil data kuesioner ini kemudian diolah dan diubah menjadi persentase dalam bentuk tabel dan grafik.. Analisis kebutuhan siswa terhadap media pembelajaran melalui Software Construt 2 dalam Pembuatan Game edukasi berbasis Platform game untuk siswa kelas VIII SMP menunjukkan bahwa proses pembelajaran dengan game edukasi sangat dibutuhkan dan siswa merasa tertarik dengan menggunakan Platform game tersebut sebagai media pembelajaran. Hal ini dapat dilihat berdasarkan pada persentase pernyataan Ya terhadap pembuatan media pembelajaran dalam bentuk platform game pada mata pelajaran Peredaran darah manusia, yaitu pada persentase 95% . Hasil analisis kebutuhan siswa ini akan digunakan untuk perancangan media pembelajaran berbasis platform game dengan menggunakan software Construct 2 pada mata pelajaran Peredaran darah manusia untuk tingkat sekolah menengah pertama di kota Pekanbaru

Abstract

This research was motivated by problems in practicum activities that the researcher found as a lecturer teaching plant morphology courses, one of which was that the plant morphology practicum did not have a practicum manual that was able to hone students' science process skills. The aim of this research is to describe preliminery research phase data obtained as a basis for developing a plant morphology practicum guidebook based on a scientific approach. This type of research is development research using the Plomp development model, the research only reached the first stage, namely the preliminery research phase. The number of sampels in this study was 96 biology education students at FKIP UIR. The research instruments are RPS analysis sheets, interview sheets, observation sheets, problem and needs questionnaires. The results of the research revealed that from the RPS analysis there were 6 topics that would be put into practice, 10.83% state the practical guidebook was not based on a scientific approach, and based on the needs questionnaire, 100% of students agreed that it was necessary to develop a plant morphology practical guidebook based on a scientific approach. It can be concluded that based on preliminery research phase data, it is necessary to develop a practical guidebook for plant morphology based on a scientific approach. The expected implication of this research is that after the plant morphology practicum manual based on a scientific approach passes tests of validity, practicality and effectiveness, that can improve practicum learning outcomes and hone students' science process skills.

Abstract

The teaching modules are structured learning packages that encompass lesson unit concepts, designed to align with the semester learning plan (RPS), and aimed at achieving specific competency standards. This study explores the application of a 3R-Based Teaching Module for Biology Education through a validation process. The research follows a Research and Development (RD) methodology, utilizing the ADDIE model, which includes three stages: Analysis, Design, and Development. The study was conducted in the Biology Education programs of Riau Islamic University, Muhammadiyah University, and Lancang Kuning University from July to December 2023. The sample included 15 third-semester students as respondents, along with three experts—specialists in material, learning, and media—selected through purposive sampling techniques. These students had previously completed Environmental Science courses at the three universities. Validation data were collected using questionnaires distributed via Google Forms to both student respondents and expert validators. The validation results revealed high validity scores from media experts (94.44), learning experts (96.59), and material experts (100), with an overall validation score of 96.67. Student readability was also rated highly at 91.16. Based on these results, the 3R-Based Teaching Module was deemed valid and practical for use in biology education programs.

Abstract

Pendidikan pada kurikulum merdeka ini menuntut siswa untuk berpikir kritis dalam pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui respon peserta didik dan guru terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis di SMAN 15 Pekanbaru. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan menggunakan sampel yaitu 1 orang guru Biologi dan 1 peserta didik tiap kelasnya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan guru sudah sering memberikan evaluasi yang berkaitan dengan berpikir kritis dan siswa juga sudah terbiasa dengan soal berpikir kritis. Soal diberikan dalam berbagai variasi. Kesimpulan pada penelitian ini yaitu (1) Dalam pembelajaran, guru sudah membiasakan melakukan evaluasi dalam pembelajaran dengan soal berpikir kritis. (2) Soal berpikir kritis yang diberikan sudah sesuai dengan modul dan materi yang diajarkan. (3) Evaluasi yang diberikan guru dilakukan dalam berbagai bentuk seperti soal pilihan ganda, essay, google form, dan website Quizziz. (4) Peserta didik ada yang merasa hasil evaluasinya memuaskan, cukup memuaskan, dan ada juga yang pernah melakukan remedial karena hasilnya belum mencapai KKTP.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze teachers' and students' responses to critical thinking skills in biology learning at SMA Negeri 3 Pekanbaru. The research employed a descriptive qualitative method using observation, interviews, and documentation. The subjects were 11th-grade students and biology teachers. The results indicate that the evaluation process conducted by teachers was inconsistent. Essay-based evaluations were deemed effective in measuring critical thinking skills, although not always based on specific indicators. Most students assessed critical thinking questions as moderately difficult, with their evaluation results categorized as high. However, a gap in students' understanding was identified, requiring further attention. This study recommends the systematic use of critical thinking indicators to better support the development of students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Cara Belajar Biologi Siswa Kelas XI IPA di SMAN 1 Pendalian IV Koto Kabupaten Rokan Hulu. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Insturmen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan lembar wawancara sebagai data utama, lembar observasi dan dokumentasi sebagai data pendukung. Sampel yang digunakan sebanyak 5 orang siswa, yang mana siswa pertama merupakan siswa yang memiliki kemampuan kecerdasan yang sedang, siswa yang kedua siswa yang memiliki kemmapuan kecerdasan yang tinggi, siswa yang ke tiga siswa yang memiliki kemampuan kecerdasan yang rendah, sedangkan siswa yang keempat siswa yang memiliki kemampuan kecerdasan yang tinggi, dan siswa yang kelima siswa yang memiliki kecerdasan yang sedang. Selanjutnya data dianalisis menggunakan analisis deskriptif. Dari hasil rekapitulasi seluruh indikator cara belajar kelas XI IPA didapatkan hasil 60% termasuk kedalam kategori kompeten. Hasil penelitin menunjukkan bahwa perlu ada beberapa peningkatan cara belajar siswa, seperti motivasi atau perhatian dari orang tua dan guru, terutama meningkatkan konsetrasi siswa dalam belajar dirumah maupun disekolah.

Abstract

The evolving demands of 21st-century education increasingly emphasize collaborative competencies as core components of global learning goals, including at the senior high school level. In response, this study aims to investigate the implementation of the Discovery Learning model in enhancing the collaborative skills of Grade X.8 students at SMAN 11 Pekanbaru. Employing a descriptive research method, data were collected through structured observations and documentation. The analysis was conducted using descriptive statistical techniques. Findings reveal that the application of Discovery Learning positively influences students’ collaborative abilities, particularly in group discussions, laboratory practicums, and material presentations. The structured stages of Discovery Learning provide opportunities for students to actively engage, communicate, and co-construct knowledge, thereby strengthening their interpersonal and team-working skills. The study concludes that the Discovery Learning model is effective in fostering collaboration among students. It further recommends optimizing the educator’s role as a facilitator and integrating complementary strategies to enhance the efficacy of the model’s implementation in classroom settings.Keywords: collaboration skills, discovery learning, learning models

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji efektivitas model Flipped Classroom Berbasis Proyek (FCBP) dalam meningkatkan kemampuan mengkreasi pengetahuan konseptual dan prosedural mahasiswa menggunakan pendekatan penelitian kuasi eksperimen. Responden penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa program studi pendidikan biologi Universitas islam riau. Data diperoleh dari hasil pre-test dan post-test kemampuan mengkreasi pengetahuan konseptual dan prosedural. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa implementasi pembelajaran FCBP dapat meningkatkan kemampuan mengkreasi pengetahuan konseptual dan prosedural mahasiswa berdasarkan nilai n-gain pada kelas eksperimen yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan kelas kontrol, dan hasil uji independent sample t-test menunjukkan perbedaan yang signifikan pada rata-rata kemampuan mengkreasi pengetahuan konseptual dan prosedural mahasiswa. Integrasi flipped classroom dan pembelajaran berbasis proyek dalam model FCBP terbukti efektif dalam pembelajaran biologi yang kontennya bisa menjadi kompleks dan berkembang. Pembelajaran ini mampu mengalihkan fokus dari pengajaran berbasis perkuliahan yang pasif ke pembelajaran aktif yang berpusat pada mahasiswa, mahasiswa akan lebih siap untuk menavigasi tantangan yang dinamis ini dan mengembangkan keterampilan yang diperlukan untuk sukses. Prinsip dan framework pembelajaran berbasis proyek yang membangun model pembelajaran FCBP berkontribusi terhadap peningkatan kemampuan mengkreasi mahasiswa.

Abstract

One of the goals of 21st Century education is to develop students' thinking skills, one of which is critical thinking skills. The diversity of student problems in schools is one of the topics of discussion and research in the world of education. One of the main learning processes is student differences, especially gender differences. The influence of gender or gender differences on various student abilities has been revealed in previous research. This research was conducted at SMA Negeri 4 Pekanbaru. The population in this study were students of class XI MIPA. The research method used is descriptive method, which is a research method used to describe problems that occur at the present time or are ongoing, aiming to describe what happened as it should have been when the research was conducted. According to the graphic data above, the highest score interpretation is found in female students, namely the range of values 79-65 in the moderate category and the number of female students who get this range of values is 10 out of 19 people. Meanwhile, only 8 out of 17 male students obtained a score range of 65-79. Based on the results of the research that has been carried out and the discussion that has been presented, it can be concluded that there are gender differences, female students get a percentage of 26.7% with 3 indicators of critical thinking skills while male students get a percentage of 14.5% with 2 indicators of critical thinking skills. So the percentage of female students has a higher critical thinking ability than male students.Keywords: critical thinking ability, gender, learners

Abstract

This research is a preliminary study that aims to determine the availability and feasibility of the E-Module, as well as the views of students and teachers on teaching materials that have been used so far in SMA Negeri 11 Pekanbaru. This study uses a survey method. In the research instrument used is a questionnaire. The research sample was 50 high school students and 1 Biology teacher. The results showed that from the student's perspective on the Development of Biology E-Module Teaching Materials as a whole, it has an average percentage of 78.7% in the Good category. The highest student response was the question whether you were enthusiastic about participating in the biology learning process in class? With a percentage of 100% in the Very Good category, and the lowest student response is the question Have you used textbooks or other handbooks for biology learning? With a percentage of 49.1% in the Enough category. Meanwhile, from the perspective of the teacher as a whole, it has an average percentage of 70.66% in the Good category. The teacher's response was highest in the question Did your biology learning process make students more enthusiastic about participating in learning? With a percentage of 100% in the Very Good category, and the lowest teacher response is the question Have you ever used E-modules for the learning process? With a percentage of 25% in the Less category. Based on the results of this study it can be concluded that from the perspective of students and teachers it is necessary to develop E-Modules based on Problem Based Learning (PBL), as teaching materials for class XI in SMA/MA to increase students' knowledge of Biology subject matter. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jbt.v11.i1.27247
