Abstract

Penelitian ini untuk bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh worklife balance pada karyawan di Batam dengan variabel Worklife Balance, Burnout, Working Condition, Flexibility, Job Satisfaction. Pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini dilakukan di kota Batam dan target responden adalah karyawan yang sedang bekerja. Metode pengumpulan data yaitu melalui penyebaran Google Form dengan skala Likert lima poin sebagai instrumen pengumpulan data terhadap 301 karyawan . Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah probability sampling dengan teknik purpotional sampling. Berdasarkan hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa Burnout berpengaruh negatif terhadap Job Satisfaction, Flexibility berpengaruh positif terhadap Job Satisfaction, Job Satisfaction berpengaruh positif terhadap Work-life Balance, dan Job Satisfaction dapat memediasi hubungan Work-life Balance dengan Flexibility.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of flexitime on job performance and family-work conflict, as well as the mediating and moderating roles of family-work conflict and ability to cope among industrial employees in Batam. This study used a quantitative approach with a purposive sampling technique and involved 267 respondents from five manufacturing companies in the Batamindo Industrial Estate. Data were collected through questionnaires and analysed using SmartPLS 4.0. The results showed that flexitime had a positive and significant effect on job performance and was able to reduce family-work conflict. Family-work conflict had a negative effect on job performance and was proven to mediate the relationship between and job performance, but was not significant in the relationship between flexitime and family-work conflict. This study provides implications that the effective implementation of flexitime and strengthening employee coping abilities can improve performance and reduce role conflict in organizations.

Abstract

Meningkatnya jumlah kafe di Indonesia, khususnya di Kota Batam, menunjukkan perkembangan industri kreatif yang pesat. Namun, di tengah persaingan yang ketat, banyak kafe menghadapi masalah turnover intention yang tinggi karena rendahnya organizational commitment, kurangnya perhatian terhadap job satisfaction, dan gaya kepemimpinan yang diterapkan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat bagaimana organizational culture, organizational innovation, dan transformational leadership memengaruhi organizational commitment yang dimediasi oleh job satisfaction karyawan kafe di Batam. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan menyebarkan kuesioner kepada 220 orang yang bekerja di kafe selama minimal satu tahun. Metode analisis data SEM yang dibantu oleh aplikasi SmartPLS 3.0 digunakan untuk pengambilan sampel purposive.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa organizational culture, organizational innovation, dan transformational leadership sangat memengaruhi organizational commitment.  Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa menciptakan lingkungan kerja yang menyenangkan, kreatif, dan menggunakan gaya kepemimpinan transformasional sangat penting untuk meningkatkan kepuasan karyawan dan meningkatkan loyalitas dan komitmen mereka terhadap perusahaan.

Abstract

The research aimed to examine the mediating role of job satisfaction and work engagement in the relationships between polychronicity, job performance, and turnover intention among employees in Batam’s manufacturing industry. While polychronicity had been widely studied in service sectors, its impact within the structured, efficiency-driven manufacturing environment remained underexplored. The research filled this gap by examining how polychronicity influenced job outcomes in a sector that prioritized operational consistency and productivity. The research collected data from 350 manufacturing employees using a quantitative approach and purposive sampling. Then, data were analyzed using Partial Least Square-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with the SmartPLS version 3.2.9 software. The findings reveal that polychronicity significantly influences job satisfaction, turnover intention, and work engagement but does not have a significant direct effect on job performance. Furthermore, job satisfaction and work engagement positively impact job performance, although they do not significantly affect turnover intention. The research also highlights the mediating roles of work engagement and job satisfaction between polychronicity and both job performance and turnover intention. However, work engagement does not mediate the relationship between polychronicity and turnover intention. These insights contribute to a nuanced understanding of how multitasking capabilities shape work outcomes under the unique pressures of manufacturing, emphasizing that demographic factors like gender, age, and marital status may further influence the effects of polychronicity

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the extent to which employee training and the work environment influence organizational culture in the hospitality sector. A quantitative approach was used, distributing questionnaires to 200 respondents working in various hotels in Batam. The results indicate that employee training, performance management, and the work environment significantly influence organizational culture in the hospitality industry in Batam.

Abstract

Proses rekrutmen dan seleksi pegawai pada suatu perusahaan sangatlah penting untuk menarik pegawai yang memenuhi kualifikasi yang dibutuhkan. PT Hansway Indonesia merupakan perusahaan yang bergerak di bidang industri pelayaran. Laporan Kerja Praktik dalam hal ini disusun dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui status pelaksanaan proses rekrutmen dan seleksi karyawan di PT Hansway Indonesia. Penelitian ini dilakukan di PT Hansway Indonesia selama 4 bulan di bagian sumber daya manusia. Penelitian ini dilakukan secara kualitatif melalui smetode wawancara, observasi dan studi dokumentasi. Hasil Implementasi proses rekrutmen dan seleksi karyawan di PT Hansway Indonesia yaitu pembuatan skema/bagan untuk menggambarkan proses rekrutmen secara rinci, selanjutnya membantu perusahaan dalam mempromosikan lowongan pekerjaan melalui media sosial, setelahnya, perancangan formulir khusus yang akan diberikan kepada mitra untuk memberikan umpan balik terhadap calon karyawan yang sedang menjalani tahap seleksi dan rekrutmen. Kesimpulan menunjukan bahwa dengan menerapkan ini, pada saat proses rekrutmen dan seleksi karyawan perusahaan lebih efektif, efisien waktu dan terarah.

Abstract

This study examines the relationships among management support, work environment, organizational commitment, employee productivity, and employee performance in the manufacturing sector of Batam, Indonesia. Using a quantitative research design, data were collected from 230 employees working in five manufacturing companies and analyzed through Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling. The findings show that management support and work environment have significant positive effects on employee productivity, whereas organizational commitment does not exert a significant effect. Employee productivity, in turn, has a significant positive effect on employee performance. The results further reveal that management support and work environment do not directly influence employee performance but affect it indirectly through employee productivity. Organizational commitment also does not show a significant indirect effect on employee performance through productivity. These findings indicate that employee performance is shaped less by favorable organizational conditions alone than by the extent to which such conditions are translated into productive work behavior. In this sense, employee productivity emerges as the central mechanism through which organizational resources acquire performance relevance.

Abstract

This study aims to examine, analyze, and empirically demonstrate the influence of Competence (X1), Workload (X2), and Discipline (X3) on Work Performance (Y) in Kepulauan Riau Province Government with Motivation (Z) as a mediating variable. The sample size consisted of 317 employees in the Kepulauan Riau Province Government. The results of this study indicate that there is a direct influence of Competence on Work Performance, but it does not have a significant influence on Motivation. Workload does not have a significant influence on Work Performance but has a significant influence on Motivation. Discipline has a significant influence on Work Performance and has a significant influence on Motivation. Meanwhile, Motivation has a significant influence on Work Performance. Motivation cannot mediate between Competence and Work Performance. The indirect influence of Motivation cannot mediate between Competence and Work Performance. Motivation can mediate between Workload and Work Performance. Motivation can mediate between Discipline and Work Performance. This study is expected to provide an appropriate workload, increase motivation and work discipline, and continue to develop employee competencies that will have a positive impact on improving employee performance.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh Jam Kerja Flexibel terhadap Kepuasan Kerja, dengan Komitmen Organisasi dan Keseimbangan Kehidupan Kerja sebagai variabel mediasi pada karyawan Generasi Z di sektor manufaktur di Batam, Indonesia. Sebagai salah satu kawasan industri utama, Batam menawarkan lingkungan kerja yang beragam sehingga menjadi konteks yang relevan untuk menelaah respons generasi terhadap fleksibilitas kerja. Generasi Z dikenal memiliki preferensi yang kuat terhadap otonomi dan keseimbangan kehidupan kerja, sehingga menghadirkan ekspektasi yang unik terhadap praktik organisasi, khususnya terkait pengaturan kerja yang fleksibel. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan pengumpulan data melalui penyebaran kuesioner terstruktur kepada 220 responden yang berasal dari berbagai perusahaan manufaktur di Batam. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan metode Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) dengan bantuan perangkat lunak SmartPLS versi 4.1.9, yang memungkinkan pengujian hubungan langsung maupun tidak langsung antarvariabel secara komprehensif. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa jam kerja fleksibel berpengaruh positif dan signifikan secara statistik terhadap komitmen organisasi, keseimbangan kehidupan kerja, dan kepuasan kerja. Selain itu, komitmen organisasi terbukti berpengaruh positif terhadap kepuasan kerja serta berperan sebagai variabel mediasi yang signifikan dalam hubungan antara jam kerja fleksibel dan kepuasan kerja. Namun, berbeda dengan dugaan awal, keseimbangan kehidupan kerja tidak menunjukkan peran mediasi yang signifikan dalam hubungan tersebut. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa meskipun keseimbangan kehidupan kerja merupakan aspek yang penting bagi Generasi Z, perannya sebagai mekanisme psikologis yang menghubungkan jam kerja fleksibel dengan kepuasan kerja cenderung kurang langsung dibandingkan dengan komitmen organisasi. Temuan penelitian ini berkontribusi pada pengembangan literatur terkait fleksibilitas kerja dan dinamika tenaga kerja lintas generasi dengan menyoroti mekanisme yang mendasari pengaruh pengaturan kerja fleksibel terhadap hasil kerja karyawan. Dari sisi praktis, penelitian ini menekankan pentingnya bagi perusahaan, khususnya di sektor manufaktur, untuk menerapkan kebijakan kerja yang lebih adaptif dan fleksibel guna meningkatkan kepuasan kerja, memperkuat komitmen organisasi, serta meningkatkan retensi karyawan generasi muda. Penelitian selanjutnya disarankan untuk mengeksplorasi peran moderasi faktor budaya, organisasi, dan karakteristik personal dalam memengaruhi hubungan antarvariabel tersebut.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of knowledge management (KM) and innovative work behavior (IWB) on the performance of educational organizations through teacher competence as a mediating variable. The research seeks to examine how KM and IWB contribute to enhancing teacher competence and, consequently, organizational performance in the education sector. The population of this study consists of private senior high school teachers in Batam City, with a sample of 185 respondents selected using purposive sampling. The research instrument was a five-point Likert scale questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis was conducted using Partial Least Squares (PLS) through the evaluation of the measurement model (outer model) and structural model (inner model). The results indicate that KM and IWB have a positive and significant effect on teacher competence, with path coefficient values of 0.521 and 0.332, respectively. Teacher competence plays a significant role as a mediator in improving organizational performance, with indirect effect contributions of 0.430 for KM and 0.274 for IWB. This study highlights the integration of knowledge management and innovative work behavior in the educational context, particularly in enhancing teacher competence. The novelty of this research lies in using teacher competence as a mediating variable linking KM and IWB to organizational performance, an approach that is still rarely examined empirically in formal education in Indonesia.The findings provide practical implications for educational policymakers, particularly school management, to design programs that enhance teacher capacity based on knowledge and innovation sustainably. Developing teacher competence strategically can directly improve the effectiveness and competitiveness of educational organizations..
