Abstract

This study tackles the pressing challenge of lung cancer detection, the foremost cause of cancer-related mortality worldwide, hindered by late detection and diagnostic limitations. Aiming to improve early detection rates and diagnostic reliability, we propose an approach integrating Deep Convolutional Neural Networks (DCNN) with Explainable Artificial Intelligence (XAI) techniques, specifically focusing on the Residual Network (ResNet) architecture and Gradient-weighted Class Activation Mapping (Grad-CAM). Utilizing a dataset of 1,000 CT scans, categorized into normal, non-cancerous, and three types of lung cancer images, we adapted the ResNet50 model through transfer learning and fine-tuning for enhanced specificity in lung cancer subtype detection. Our methodology demonstrated the modified ResNet50 model's effectiveness, significantly outperforming the original architecture in accuracy (91.11%), precision (91.66%), sensitivity (91.11%), specificity (96.63%), and F1-score (91.10%). The inclusion of Grad-CAM provided insightful visual explanations for the model's predictions, fostering transparency and trust in computer-assisted diagnostics. The study highlights the potential of combining DCNN with XAI to advance lung cancer detection, suggesting future research should expand dataset diversity and explore multimodal data integration for broader applicability and improved diagnostic capabilities.

Abstract

The objective of this paper is to examine the perspectives of department chairmen and lecturers who teach Research Methods in English Language Teaching (ELT) with regards to strategies employed in thesis writing. We conducted in-depth interviews to collect data. Four English Education department chairs were interviewed and 24 lecturers teaching Research Methodology in ELT via FGDs. Using coding techniques, the data from interviews and FGDs were divided into two main themes: academic and non-academic variables to successful thesis writing. Academic variables include the selection of research problems, analysis of prior relevant themes, formulation of research questions, and comprehension of writing styles. In addition, participants acknowledged that non-academic variables play a vital role in the successful writing of a thesis. The participants highlighted time management and interpersonal relationships as non-academic issues.

Abstract

Patients with acute respiratory failure wil sometimes need invasive mechanical ventilation (IMV). High-demand events such as a pandemic will render the already limited bed in the ICU unavailable for another patient who also needs IMV. Acute respiratory failure can be divided into two categories: hypoxemic respiratory failure and hypercapnic respiratory failure. Non-invasive strategies presently available for treatment of acute respiratory failure are non-invasive ventilation (NIV), continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP), and high flow nasal oxygen (HFNO). Strong evidence has been present for the use of NIV in acute exacerbations of COPD, cardiogenic pulmonary edema, and ARF in immunocompromised patients, while in hypoxemic respiratory failure, there is low to moderate certainty of evidence pointing to the benefit of CPAP and HFNO. Correctly and selectively using these non-invasive strategies can reduce mortality and prevent intubation.

Abstract

Background: Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by the SARS-CoV- 2 virus and has become a pandemic until now. Clinical outcomes in patients vary depending on many factors, such as demographics, vital signs, laboratory results, and comorbidities. Methods: This study aims to analyze clinical outcomes in COVID-19 patients associated with the patient's general information (age, sex), demographic factors, admission vital signs, degree of symptoms at admission, blood laboratory results at admission, and comorbidities. This study is an analytic observational study with a cross-sectional design. All variables were examined based on medical records at the time of admission to the hospital. A multivariate analysis was conducted to determine what factors most influence clinical outcomes in treated COVID-19 patients. Results: There were 183 COVID-19 patients included in this study with moderate to critical degrees. Factors that influence the clinical outcome of COVID-19 patients are the presence of comorbidities, old age, high blood pressure and heart rate, anemia, leukocytosis, and increased blood sugar and creatinine at admission. Multivariate analysis showed that clinical symptoms of severe COVID-19 were a factor that influenced poor clinical outcomes in COVID-19 patients, with OR=5.6 (95% CI=2.223-13.90).Conclusion: Age, comorbidity, blood pressure, heart rate, hemoglobin, random blood glucose, and creatinine at admission influence the clinical outcome of admitted COVID-19 patients.

Abstract

Humans are destined with the nature of zoon politicon, they always live in groups in a group called society. Living alone without other people somewhere is not human nature as a creature, even if there are people who live alone, it's a bedtime story and in the middle of the story they will definitely be met and get along with each other as an absolute necessity. It is human nature to live side by side with other humans and try to carry on offspring by means of marriage. Marriage is a physical and spiritual bond between a man and a woman as husband and wife with the aim of forming a happy and eternal family (household) based on the One Godhead. with the aim, among other things, to get offspring who will continue and replace the generation that gave birth to them. The purpose of this study was to find out how the rights and obligations of parents towards children based on Article 45 of Law Number 1 of 1974 concerning Marriage. Based on Article 45 and Article 46 of Law no. 1 of 1974, the obligation of parents to care for and educate their children until they marry and can stand alone. This also means that even if the child is married if, in fact, it cannot stand alone, it is still the obligation of parents to take care of their children, wives, and grandchildren. This is different from what is regulated in the Civil Code that the obligation does not only extend to adult children (aged 18 years) but until they are able to stand on their own even though the marital ties of their parents are broken. Children must respect their parents and obey their goodwill. If the child is an adult, he is obliged to take care of his parents and family in a straight line up according to his ability, if they need his help

Abstract

Language plays a significant part in shaping and influencing people’s perspectives on societies and on political sectors, especially in an inaugural speech. Inaugural speech is one of the powerful tools to notify the people of the purposes as a leader. Hence, the researchers aimed to analyze the inaugural speeches of Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) in 2004 and Joko Widodo (Jokowi) in 2019 regarding their rhetoric and schematic words in their speeches during their tenure served as the Indonesian President. To uncover their inaugural speeches, the researchers used the theoretical frameworks proposed by Hymes (1974, cited in Eaton, 2019), where he developed the analysis of the connection between a language and a broader feature, such as macro- and micro-linguistics analysis. However, the key purpose of concern still marks a language presenting equality between linguistic and social perspectives. The study revealed that SBY and Jokowi mostly used polite words, a low, moderate voice, and tended to appreciate their rivals when giving their inaugural speeches respectively in 2004 and 2019. The difference in macro and micro-linguistics features assert that these two national figures have different traits even though they are from the same ethnic group, the Javanese. Further, this study suggested some pedagogical implications for English teachers to implement the potential benefits of macro- and micro-linguistics analysis of inaugural speeches for the language classroom. It can bridge a gap between language teaching and practical English use in society.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the digital-based zakat management information system and strategies for increasing ZIS fund income from the perspective of muamalah fiqh in NTB and Aceh. This study focuses on using SimBaznas on the loyalty of zakat payments, the cand constraints, and strategies taken to increase zakat payments in the two regions. This is a mixed-method study to obtain more comprehensive, reliable, and objective data. The results showed that the implementation of SimBaznas at Baznas in NTB was only carried out on reporting zakat collection that had been carried out properly, while reports and asset reports had not been well informed in SimBaznas. Meanwhile, in Aceh Province, all SimBaznas features have not been effective. Quantitative analysis shows that the ease of use and availability of facilities and infrastructure does not guarantee a correlation with the implementation of SimBaznas in the two provinces. In addition, the seriousness of the interest of SimBaznas users has an effective effect on the implementation of the system. However, it is certain that the existence of SimBaznas has no significant effect on the loyalty of Muslims in the two provinces. The problem with using SimBaznas is caused by the lack of quantity and quality of IT-based human resources. Therefore, the strategies that can be applied are improving the quality and quantity of SimBaznas IT managers, socializing SimBaznas to the public, encouraging ratifying the law on zakat as a tax deduction, and finalizing the regulation of zakat as PAD in Aceh. Therefore, in the context of fiqh muamalah, Baitul Mal will increasingly contribute to poverty alleviation, economic development, and human resource development in NTB, Aceh, and Indonesia.

Abstract

Aceh Province, which is a Special Autonomous Region based on Islamic Sharia, based on 2021 data shows that the implementation of the Teaching Factory has not yet occurred completely in all vocational schools in Aceh. This is a strong indication that the main factor has not yet seen the outcomes expected by the community. Seeing the gap in the quality of Teaching Factory implementation among vocational schools in Aceh, it is necessary to conduct a study regarding the integration of Islamic education through the Teaching Factory model as an effort to develop learning attitude and work ethic of students in vocational schools in Aceh. The research design used is a sequential explanatory design or combination model research. The total sample for quantitative data was 228 respondents using the Structural equation Modeling analysis method. Meanwhile, for qualitative data, the sample size was 509 respondents. Quantitative data analysis uses the Structural equation Modeling analysis method, while qualitative data describes the results descriptively by linking them to existing facts and supporting theories from the results of data integration from the implementation of the Teaching Factory and Islamic Education. The research results show that teaching and learning activities in vocational schools are not just coincidental or incidental, but are part of a planned effort to integrate Islamic education into the learning system and daily life through Teaching Factory learning. This integration has a positive and holistic impact on students' personalities, skills, attitude, and values, with a focus on success in the world of business run according to Islamic principles.

Abstract

This article analyzes teachers' perspectives on talents and talent development of high school students in Langsa City. Using a qualitative approach, researchers collected data from three high schools, namely Vocational High School 2, State High School 1, and Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 2 Langsa through interview techniques with student affairs teachers. The research results show that the introduction and development of talents in senior high schools in Langsa includes: socialization at the beginning of the new school year, mentoring, development in various extracurricular activities and tentative talent development. Talent development through extracurricular activities focuses on talents that comes from five senses, while talents that come from nature tends to be neglected. The implications of the results of this research are that schools need to develop talent development activities that are integrated with the co[1]curriculum so that they can accommodate all students' talents.
