Abstract

This study aims to analyse the influence of transformational leadership on implementing discipline in Islamic schools. The study employs a qualitative approach using in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis at MTS Saiful Ulum, a secondary Islamic school under the Ministry of Religious Affairs. The research participants consist of 20 individuals, including the principal, vice principals, educators, and administrative staff, who are directly involved in leadership and discipline enforcement. The findings indicate that the principal's transformational leadership fosters effective communication, enhances teacher accountability, and strengthens role modeling in discipline implementation within the school. The implications of this study encompass both practical and theoretical aspects. Practically, the findings provide insights for Islamic schools in developing leadership strategies based on transformational values to improve discipline. Theoretically, this study contributes to the literature on transformational leadership in Islamic education, particularly discipline management. The results of this study can serve as a foundation for policymakers in designing more effective leadership approaches to enhance discipline in Islamic schools.

Abstract

Parents in the social community, especially in the era of society 5.0 as it is today, have a great responsibility, because parents have to go the extra mile in maintaining their development, mentality, association, intellect and education, as well as the transformation of moral values and morals, culture and traditions that followed and developed by children, and motivation so that children have good character in the family and in society. Counseling activities for parents in raising awareness of the importance of children's education are carried out using the ABCD (asset-based communities’ development) approach through koloman kamrat (kamrat gathering) activities in Lawangan Daya village. The results of the coaching show that there are implications that change the mindset of parents from education and career only for personal life to be sensitive and fully responsible for all processes of forming their children through education in the family. Coaching activities carried out, through emphasis; 1) aspects of human potential; 2) aspect of social potential; and 3) aspects of cultural and spiritual potential.

Abstract

This study aims to reveal findings about the exploration and internalization of religious character values ​​based on local wisdom at MTs Baiturrahman Pamekasan. This type of research is qualitative with a case study approach; data mining is done through observation, interviews, and FGDs as well as relevant documents. The research data are then analyzed by organizing, sorting, grouping, coding, and categorizing the data. The results showed that the exploration of religious character values ​​based on local wisdom consisted of three value clusters, spiritual, ukhuwah Islamiyah, and nationality which were then internalized through dluha prayer activities, reading short suras, exemplary, habituation, giving advice, discipline, scouting. sports, traveling tadarus, and learning strategies. The value exploration and internalization process were then constructed into a new model, namely; holistic spiritual model, integrative learning model and religious social model.

Abstract

Pendidikan pesantren di Indonesia sampai hari ini masih selalu menarik dibahas, karena karakter pesantren yang berbeda dan khas. KH. Imam Zarkasyi(1910-1985) adalah salah satu Pendiri Pondok Modern Gontor yang memiliki visi pembaharuan. Artiikel ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji sudut pandang pemikiran KH. Imam Zarkasyi dalam visi pendidikan modern dengan metode penelitian library research menganalisis pandangan Kyai Saifurrahman Nawawi dalam buku Nilai Pendidikan Sufistik KH. Imam Zarkasyi dengan sumber lainnya seperti jurnal dan buku imiyah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Pemikiran KH. Imam Zarkasyi dalam kajian ini terbatas pada beberapa aspek yaitu pada aspek pesantren. Visi Modernitas Pemikiran KH. Imam Zarkasyi, Pesantren Modern mencetak kader pemimpin, Netralitas Pesantren, Modernitas pada pembelajaran Kitab kuning, Modernitas pada Pendidikan pesantren. Modernitas dalam segala aspek pendidikan yang sangat luas, substantif dan universal, yang pertama adalah Pesantren harus dijiwai oleh Panca Jiwa Pesantren, yaitu : a. Keikhlasan, b. Kesederhanaan, c. Kemandirian, d. Ukhuwah Islamiyah dan e. Kebebasan. Visi pendidikan pesantren modern yang dimaksudkan oleh KH Imam Zarkasyi mengafirmasi tujuan kurikulum untuk menggambarkan berbagai pengetahuan dan ketrampilan, nilai dan juga sikap. KH Imam Zarkasyi meletakkan keterampilan berbahasa asing dalam pembelajaran dan juga dalam komunikasi santri setiap hari untuk menunjang kebutuhan akademik santri dan juga peran santri nantinya secara gobal. KH Imam Zarkasyi memiliki visi pembudayaan pesantren dengan membentuk budaya keilmuan dan wawasan yang luas kepada santrinya. KH. Imam zarkasyi menyebutya dengan moto ilmu yang luas

Abstract

Abstract Perencanaan karir menjadi urgen diterapkan dalam rangka menyiapkan siswa menjalani dan menghadapi tangtangan kemajuan zaman yang saat ini sudah memasuki era society 5.0. Para siswa perlu diarahkan dan didorong agar mengenali, mengasah dan melatih potensi diri, minat dan bakat yang ada pada diri masing-masing individu siswa. Sebab pada era society 5.0 ini menjadi sia-sia membimbing siswa tampa disesuaikan dengan potensi diri, minat dan bakat mareka, sebab jika tidk akan cendrung ikut-ikutan dalam memilih jenis pekerjaan, terlebih di desa Pragaan Daya yang rata-rata memiliki kecendrungan memilih jenis pekerjaan yang dilakukan oleh orang tua maskipun pekerjaanya adalah mengemis. Pendampingan ini bertujuan untuk mengenalkan potensi diri, minat dan bakat siswa dan mengenalkan jenis karir yang sesuai minat dan bakat masing-masing individu. Metode pelaksanaan pendampingan meliputi tiga tahap, yaitu tahap persiapan, tahap pelaksanaan dan tahap evaluasi. Hasil pendampingan perencanaan karir kepada siswa kelas akhir meliputi 1) siswa mengenali potensi diri, minat dan bakat yang tependam dalam diri masing-masing individu; 2) siswa melakukan upaya penguatan terhadap potensi diri, minat dan bakat yang mereka miliki; dan 3) siswa melatih dan mengasah potensi diri, minat dan bakat agar dapat merencanakan dan menetapkan jenis karir yang sesuai dengan minat potensi diri, dan bakat mereka.

Abstract

Islamic law (Sharia) and Sufi scholars, including the Walisongo, have been significant driving forces behind the development of a peaceful Islamic culture. The Walisongo exemplify how Islam evolved in Indonesia, particularly on the island of Java. As the early leaders of Islam, the Walisongo are revered throughout Java. Their contribution to the spread of Islamic da’wah in Indonesia in general, and in Java in particular, is an undeniable historical fact. This study employs a qualitative methodology. The qualitative research approach emphasizes the perspectives of research subjects and uses theoretical foundations as a guide to ensure that the research process aligns with the empirical facts discovered throughout the study. The initial process of Islam’s entry into Java successfully spread Islamic teachings across the island through a long and challenging journey. The term Walisongo, derived from the words wali (saint) and songo (nine), represents a group that played a vital role in bringing Islam to Java. The contribution of the Walisongo to Islamic education in Java is currently being revitalized and refined through more modern adaptations. The Walisongo stand as historical figures in Javanese Islamic education for their unique method of integrating Javanese culture and customs into their da’wah strategies, which effectively prevented Islamic education from being imposed through rigid processes of Islamization.

Abstract

Moderate Islamic education with a tolerant curriculum amidst diversity is crucial in shaping a generation that not only understands religious teachings but also values social and cultural differences. In Indonesia, which is rich in pluralism, the development of an Islamic education curriculum that prioritizes moderation and tolerance is a key challenge in fostering social peace. This study aims to recommend a model for designing Islamic education curricula that instills values of moderation, interfaith tolerance, and respect for differences. The approach used in this study is qualitative, with a library research method, relying on the collection of relevant literature to explore the concepts and best practices in moderate curriculum design. The results of the study indicate that an Islamic education curriculum that emphasizes moderation and tolerance must integrate materials on religious pluralism, apply dialogical and collaborative teaching methods, and include assessments based on attitudes of tolerance toward differences. Additionally, the curriculum should prioritize teaching universal values such as peace, justice, and mutual respect. Collaboration between the government, educational institutions, and society is essential to realizing an adaptive, inclusive Islamic education curriculum that can create a more peaceful and harmonious society amidst diversity.

Abstract

This study aims to describe teachers' strategies in implementing religious moderation in thematic learning at Al-Azhar Madrasah Ibtidaiyyah (MI) and Madaiyyah Senduro Madrasah Aliyah (MAS). Religious moderation, as a balanced, tolerant, anti-violent, and nation-oriented religious attitude, is very important to be instilled from an early age through formal education. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive research type. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, classroom observations, and documentation studies, then analysed using the interactive analysis model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldana. The results showed that teachers at MI Al-Azhar used concrete experience-based strategies, such as storytelling, collaborative games, and daily prayer habits, to instil the values of tolerance and togetherness. Meanwhile, teachers at MAS Madaiyyah developed strategies for thematic discussions, case studies, and self-reflection that encourage students to think critically and reflect on religious moderation. The obstacles encountered include teachers' limited understanding of religious moderation, a dense curriculum, and the negative influence of social media. However, supporting factors such as madrasah policies, teacher role models, and the local socio-cultural context contributed to the success of the implementation. This study emphasises the importance of the role of teachers as agents of moderation through thematic learning, as well as the need to strengthen teacher capacity and learning innovation to shape a moderate generation in an era of diversity.

Abstract

Al-Thābarī's Tafsīr holds a strategic position in the classical Islamic scho­larly tradition and is often regarded as the primary representation of tafsīr bi al-riwāyah. However, scholarly approaches to his methodology have frequently been confined to a textual-narrative dichotomy, overlooking the deeper interpretive dimen­sions within his work. This study aims to reconstruct Al-Thābarī's exegetical methodology by examining the implicit hermeneutical principles that inform his approach to the Qur'an. Employing a qualitative method through textual analysis and a philosophical hermeneutic approach—particularly Gadamer's theory of the fusion of horizons—this research explores how Al-Thābarī synthesizes the authority of transmitted reports (riwāyah) with linguistic reasoning and historical assessment of isnād. The findings reveal that Al-Thābarī was not merely a transmitter of tradi­ti­on but an active exegete who engaged in a synthesis of tradition and rationality. This study underscores the importance of rereading classical exegesis within a dynamic and contextual modern hermeneutical framework, contributing to the development of a more responsive contemporary tafsīr methodology.

Abstract

Pendidikan akhlak atau yang kini lebih ngetren disebut juga pendidikan karakter merupakan hal yang sangat penting dan harus menjiwai segala bentuk pendidikan. Jika tidak, pendidikan akan hanya menimbulkan madarat di tengah-tengah kehidupan masyarakat. Mengenai sejak kapan seharusnya anak mendapat pendidikan khususnya pendidikan akhlak atau juga pendidikan karakter, ada beberapa teori. Islam telah mengajarkan pendidikan anak sejak dini, semenjak ia masih dalam kandungan, bahkan pada saat prosesi pembuahan, bahkan lagi ada yang berpendapat jauh hari sebelum kedua orang tuanya menikah. Berbagai isu sosial yang terjadi di tanah air saat ini sepertinya tidak dapat dilepaskan dari peranan pendidikan. Isu mengenai korupsi, kekerasan, penipuan dan yang lainnya, sepertinya sudah begitu merebak hingga memunculkan pemakluman, Pendidikan harus mampu membentuk karakter setiap pribadi siswa/pelajar. Siapa yang tidak mengelus dada melihat pelajar yang tidak punya sopan santun, suka tawuran, bagus nilainya untuk "pelajaran" pornografi, senang narkotika, dan hobi begadang dan kebut-kebutan[1]. Oleh karenan nya pendidikan karakter harus di tanankan sejak dini pada peserta didik khusunya dan juga harus di kembangkan demi mencetak generasi yang berbudi luhur.
