Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this research is to describe the values of character education found in Hajat Sasih ceremony in  Kampung Naga, Jawa Barat, Indonesia. The method used in this study is a qualitative method with a descriptive analytical approach. The data collected through observation, interviews, and literature study on the procession from its preparation (tatahar), implementation to closure. The results of the study show that the advancement of the world and the growth of increasingly modern technology have not had much influence on the lives of people in Kampung Naga. At Hajat Sasih ceremony the attributes of character education are found including being religious as shown on the purpose of the ceremony itself as an expression of gratitude to the God and ask for the protection, being discipline which shown on their obedience in performing the ceremony six times a year and follow the rules in its implementation, having patriotism, having reverence, building and maintaining friendship, sustaining the environment, developing social care, and showing responsibility. These characters can also be found among the people of Kampung Naga in their daily lives. As part of an attempt to retain culture and grow characters, parents reiterate the narratives to the younger communities.

Abstract

The study aims to develop an assessment model of Sundanese language speaking skills for junior high school students in West Java, Indonesia. This test model is expected to provide an effective assessment program, which includes contents, scope, delivery format, and time. A design-based research was adopted to produce a model of class-based Sundanese language and literature learning assessment via several tryouts, interviews, and expert judgment. Findings of this study show that the developed Sundanese Speaking Test Model (SSTM) fits the criteria of a good test in terms of clarity of instruction, clarity of test materials and assessment, use of communicative and standardized language, and use of correct varieties of spoken language. Statistical calculations of field tryout scores show that the assessment model was relevant to field data, indicating that the model is fit and worth using as an assessment instrument of Sundanese speaking skills of junior secondary school students as supported by theoretical concepts and expert judgment. Results of judgment by experts, users, and practitioners also show that the SSTM is reliable for use as an instrument for assessing students’ speaking skills at the middle school level.

Abstract

AbstrakPenelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pentingnya menanamkan nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter pada peserta didik, khususnya yang ada pada buku teks pelajaran bahasa Sunda tingkat SMA/SMK/MA/MAK sederajat. Oleh sebab itu, nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter tersebut penting untuk diteliti lebih lanjut, agar dapat dijadikan suatu model dalam penerapan nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter di kalangan generasi milenial yang berbasis kearifan lokal. Berdasarkan pada latar belakang tersebut, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter yang terdapat dalam buku teks Panggelar Basa Sunda untuk siswa SMA/SMK/MA/MAK kelas X. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu metode deskriptif. Adapun teknik yang digunakan adalah teknik studi pustaka. Sumber data penelitian yaitu buku teks pelajaran bahasa Sunda yang berjudul Panggelar Basa Sunda pikeun Murid SMA/SMK/MA/MAK Kelas X Kurikulum 2013 Revisi 2017, sedangkan data penelitiannya yaitu 18 nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter yang terdapat dalam isi buku teks tersebut. Setelah dianalisis, dalam buku teks Panggelar Basa Sunda ditemukan 16 nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter pada bagian petunjuk pembelajaran, wacana/teks, dan juga soal/evaluasi. Semua nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter yang ditemukan pada bagian-bagian buku teks tersebut, meliputi: religius, jujur, toleransi, disiplin, kerja keras, kreatif, mandiri, rasa ingin tahu, semangat kebangsaan, cinta tanah air, menghargai prestasi, bersahabat/komunikatif, gemar membaca, peduli lingkungan, peduli sosial, dan tanggung jawab.Kata Kunci: bahasa Sunda, buku teks, nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter. AbstractThis research was motivated by the discovery of educational character values contained in Sundanese language textbooks of senior high school/vocational high school/Islamic senior high school/Islamic vocational high school (SMA/SMK/MA/MAK) and equivalent level. The values of character education are important to be investigated, so that it can be used as a model in the application of educational character values among the millennial generation based on local wisdom. Based on this notion, this study aims to describe the values of educational character contained in Panggelar Basa Sunda text book for grade X SMA/SMK/MA/MAK students. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method by using document review technique. The data source used in this research was Sundanese language text book entitled Panggelar Basa Sunda pikeun Murid SMA/SMK/MA/MAK Kelas X Kurikulum 2013 Revisi 2017. The data used were 18 educational character the text book. Research results show that 16 educational character values contained in Panggelar Basa Sunda text book were found in learning instructions, discourse/text, and questions/evaluation sections. All the educational character values are found i.e.: religious, honest, tolerance, discipline, hard work, creative, independent, curiosity, nationalism, love for the homeland, respect for achievement, friendly/communicative, reading intention, cares about the environment, cares about social, and responsible.Keywords: educational character values, Sundanese language, text book.

Abstract

Textbooks have a very important role in the learning process so there is a need for a conformity between the material in the textbook and the competencies in the curriculum. There had been a lot of research on the quality of textbooks. However, there was still a lack of textbooks at the elementary school level. Therefore, research on Sundanese language textbooks at the elementary school level was needed to measure the conformity of the content and the conformity of the material themes. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of conformity of the descriptions of the materials with core competencies, basic competencies & indicators. The method used in this research was descriptive analysis with literature study techniques. The data source was the textbook Panganteur Basa Sunda with 2013 Curriculum SD/ MI Class VI revised by Kanisius. From the results of the analysis, it was found that the level of conformity of (1) material descriptions with core competencies reached 75%, (2) the conformity level of material with basic competencies reached 91.5% and (3) the level of conformity of material with indicators of the competency achievement reached 85%. Thus, overall Panganteur Basa Sunda book had a good category with the level of conformity of the material with the curriculum reaching 84%. However, the conformity of the teaching instructions with the operational verbs was still lacking (72.8%). Nevertheless, overall this book was suitable to be used in Sundanese language learning in grade VI.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the reading ability and the effectiveness of the Numbered Group Discussion (NGD) learning model in an attempt to improve the article reading ability. It was an experimental study. The data were collected through tests, observations, questionnaires, and interviews. The participants were students of Jurusan Pen¬di¬dikan Bahasa Daerah FPBS UPI. The findings show that the NGD learning model was capable of improving the learning achievement. The students ofthe experimental group learning through the NGD model had an improvement of 3.70 and those of the control group had an improvement of 1.21. In terns of the mastery level, the experimental group improved from the poor category to the moderate category, while the control group was in the poor category. In the literal, inferential, and evaluation aspects, the experimental group showed an improvement from the pretest to the posttest. In relation to the learning process quality, the NGD model can be an effective method for both the students and lecturers.

Abstract

Dilaksanakannya kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pelatihan penyusunan Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran Abad 21. Indikator dalam Pembelajaran abad 21 meliputi empat hal, yaitu a) kemampuan belajar dan berinovasi yang mencakup: berpikir kritis, memecahkan masalah, kreatif, inovatif, komunikasi, dan kolaborasi. b) literasi digital yang mencakup literasi informasi, media, dan teknologi. c) kecakapan hidup yang mencakup fleksibilitas dan adaptabilitas, inisiatif dan mandiri, interaksi lintas sosial budaya, produktifitas dan akuntabilitas, kepemimpinan dan tanggung jawab, d) karakter moral mencakup: cinta tanah air, nilai-nilai budi pekerti luhur: jujur, adil, empati, penyayang, rasa hormat, kesederhanaan, pengampun, rendah hati, dll. Pengetahuan terhadap perubahan penyusunan rencana pembelajaran belum sepenuhnya dimiliki oleh guru bahasa Sunda di Kota Depok. Oleh sebab itu melalui kegiatan ini, diharapkan guru memiliki pemahaman yang sama akan kaidah-kaidah Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran Abad 21. Kegiatan ini menggunakan metode ceramah dan workshop, Melalui metode ceramah guru memperoleh pengetahuan tentang (a) menetapkan konsep materi kebahasaan dan kesastraan, (b) menginventaris prinsip-prinsip materi materi kebahasaan dan kesastraan, (c) menelaah fakta yang terkait dengan materi kebahasaan dan kesastraan, dan (d) menentukan prosedur pemahaman dan penyajian materi kebahasaan dan kesastraan. Melalui metode latihan dan workshop guru memperoleh pengalaman menyusun rencana pembelajaran abad 21. Guru memiliki pengalaman mengimplementasikan aspek: a) 4C yaitu berpikir kritis, kreatif, komunikatif, colabotatif; b) PPK yaitu religius, integritas, nasionalisme, gotong royong, kemandirian; c) literasi yaitu informasi, media, teknologi; dan d) HOTs yaitu C4 (analisis), C5 (evaluasi), dan C6 (kreasi). Hasil dari kegiatan ini adalah guru bahasa Sunda Kota Depok meningkat pemahamannya dalam menyusun Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran (RPP) Abad 21 bidang studi bahasa Sunda. Luaran kegiatan ini adalah 1) memiliki model RPP Abad 21 bidang studi bahasa Sunda; dan 2) menghasilkan makalah yang siap dipresentasikan pada seminar nasional atau sebuah artikel yang akan dimuat dalam jurnal.

Abstract

Dalam kegiatan belajar dan mengajar, buku begitu memiliki peran yang sangat penting dan tidak terpisahkan. Penggunaan buku teks yang tepat sangat mempengaruhi keberhasilan proses belajar mengajar. Dengan buku teks mampu membantu pembelajar untuk mencapai tujuan pembelajaran yang diharapkan. Oleh karena itu penelitian dalam artikel ini dilatarbelakangi pentingnya penelitian buku teks Bahasa Sunda. Tujuan dari penelitian tersebut adalah untuk mendeskripsikan relevansi tujuan dan isi pada buku teks rancage diajar Bahasa Sunda kelas VII tingkat SMP/MTs terhadap kurikulum daerah muatan local 2013 revisi 2017. Metode dalam penelitian tersebut termasuk ke dalam penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah studi pustaka dan dokumentasi. Instrumen alat bantu yang digunakan yaitu check-list. Sumber data penelitian yaitu buku teks Rancagé Di Ajar Bahasa Sunda kelas VII SMP/MTs. Hasil yang ditemukan menunjukkan  buku teks Rancagé Diajar Bahasa Sunda memiliki tingkat relevansi yang cukup baik. Dari 8 Bab materi, terdapat 2 materi yang relevan dan 6 materi yang kurang relevan. Materi yang memiliki kategori relevan yaitu pada Bab ke-1 Paguneman dan Bab ke-8 Aksara Sunda. Sementara itu, kategori kurang relevan yaitu Bab ke-2 Kaulinan Barudak, Bab ke-3 Pupujian, Bab ke-4 Pangalaman Lalampahan Pribadi, Bab ke-5 Dongéng Sasakala, Bab ke-6 Iklan Layanan Masyarakat, dan Bab ke-7 Sajak.

Abstract

This Community Service (PkM) is motivated by the lack of authentic learning media for Sundanese subjects. Types of media in learning Sundanese including factual, conceptual, principal, and procedural. Recently, it was difficult for teachers to implement the type of factual material. It was caused by unskilled factor on processing learning materials in the Curriculum 2013 Revised 2017 based on competency basis and competency core (KIKD) of Mulok Sundanese Language with authentic materials in authentic learning. Based on the analysis of the situation that became the background of the problem, the purpose of this community services was to improve the skills of selecting and compiling authentic learning materials for Sundanese language teachers in Pangandaran Regency. The methods of this community services were hybrid learning with explanation, question and answer, and workshop techniques. The target is teachers as members Teacher Working Group (MGMP) of Sundanese language in junior high schools and senior high schools in Pangandaran Regency. The targets attended were 40 people at face to face meeting, and 260 people at online meeting. The meeting was located at Grand Mutiara Pangandaran Hotel hall. The materials presented including three topics i.e. 1) Social Media-Based Teaching Materials, 2) Digital Applications for Sundanese Language Learning, and 3) Evaluation of Authentic Learning. The results of this community services are 1) the targets gain knowledge on how to manage Sundanese language learning in the 21st century by utilizing modern technology; 2) the targets have skills to select and compile authentic materials and their evaluation in accordance with competency basis and competency core as well as the students needs at every level of education.

Abstract

The main reason for conducting this research is that Sundanese textbooks do not describe the material gradation standards according to the needs and background of students at each level of Education, in addition to not presenting a systematic material structure. In connection with the reason above, the purpose of this study is to examine the gradations and structure of the material contained in the Sundanese textbook for Junior High School/MTs and Senior High School/Vocational/MA students. The method used in this research is the description method. While the data collection technique used in this research is library research techniques. The technique is used to describe data based on gradations and structure of subject presented in Sundanese textbooks based on education levels. The data processed in this study is Sundanese language learning materials including 1) literary forms of poetry: poetry, circumcision, wawacan, satire, pupujian, sawer, and kawih; 2) literary forms of prose: fairy tales, short story, novels, puppet story, and drama; 3) non-literary texts: speeches, writers, letters, reports, debates, interviews, and reports reading. As for, the source of the data is Sundanese textbooks for Junior High School/MTs and Senior High School/Vocational/MA students based on the 2013 Local Content Curriculum Revised 2017. The finding of this study is that the composition of Sundanese textbook material for Junior High School/MTs and Senior High School/Vocational/MA students in accordance with the 2013 Local Content Curriculum Revised 2017, nevertheless, not paying attention to the gradation of the material. Things that unintentionally missing from the authors are 1) gradation of writing indicators from competencies achievement or learning objectives, 2) scope of material presentation and depth of material, and 3) variations of operational verbs on the writing tasks. This research can be used as a consideration in compiling the material presented in the textbook, so that the content presented ca be in accordance with students' needs and background based on their level of education.

Abstract

The existence of COVID-19 in Indonesia was officially announced by the president in March 2020 before the virus emerged in Wuhan China. School closure was conducted and the policy of distant learning was officially released by the Ministry of Education. This research aimed to find the challenges that teachers in Indonesia encountered during the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak and how teachers overcome the learning process challenges. The study was conducted towards primary school teachers in some provinces in Indonesia through an online survey with close-ended and open- ended questions. Our research findings showed teachers encounter challenges that include the disturbance in teaching and learning regarding accessibility, learning quality, school-home relationship, and technology awareness. Teachers also changed their ways of teaching by sending the learning materials via Google Classroom, WhatsApp (cross-platform messaging), and a few still conducted face-to- face meetings with strict policies.
