Abstract

Hypercholesterolemic, a condition characterized by excess cholesterol content, can lead to coronary heart disease, atherosclerosis, and high-risk heart tissue degeneration. Current drugs, like simvastatin and pravastatin, focus on lowering cholesterol levels without addressing tissue degeneration. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of sidempuan salacca vinegar in improving cardiac tissue degeneration in hypercholesterolemic mice. The experimental research involved two groups, the treatment group given different doses of sidempuan salacca vinegar and the control group. Histopathological observations showed improvement in cardiac tissue degeneration in hypercholesterolemic mice after treatment with salacca vinegar. The administration of salacca vinegar could serve as a reference for developing alternative hypercholesterolemic drugs that address both cholesterol levels and heart degeneration.

Abstract

The study of Natural Sciences (IPA) plays a crucial role in building students' scientific knowledge, critical thinking skills, and environmental awareness, especially in Indonesia, which is prone to natural disasters. This research analyzes disaster mitigation-based science education through a philosophical approach encompassing the dimensions of ontology, epistemology, and axiology. The method employed is a literature review of 14 articles relevant to the period from 2016 to 2024. The results indicate that, ontologically, this education emphasizes students' understanding of the interaction between natural phenomena and human activities. Epistemologically, experience-based, simulation, and technology-driven approaches have been shown to enhance disaster literacy and mitigation skills. Axiologically, this education instills values of social responsibility, environmental awareness, and solidarity in facing disasters. This integration supports Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) and fosters a generation that is responsive and adaptive to global challenges, including climate change and disaster risks.

Abstract

Model discovery learning adalah salah satu model yang berpusat pada peserta didik, peserta didik secara aktif melakukan eksplorasi mandiri, menganalisis, mengolah hingga menyimpulkan hasil temuan. Model ini dianggap relevan dan dapat meningkatkan kemampuan abad ke-21 yaitu kemampuan berpikir kritis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan kajian tentang model discovery learning dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik SMA. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode literature review dengan mengkaji berbagai artikel ilmiah yang sesuai dengan topik pembahasan. Pencarian artikel dilakukan melalui google scholar. Artikel yang dijadikan referensi adalah artikel yang terbit pada rentang tahun 2021-2025. Terdapat 10 artikel yang direview dari 10 jurnal yang berbeda. Berdasarkan hasil kajian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model discovery learning mampu mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik tingkat SMA. Model discovery learning dapat dipadukan dengan bahan ajar dan media yang interaktif untuk membantu meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis.

Abstract

Kemampuan berpikir kritis merupakan bekal penting bagi siswa dalam menghadapi tantangan abad ke-21. Namun, praktik pembelajaran masih cenderung bersifat ceramah sehingga peluang siswa untuk berlatih analisis, evaluasi, dan pemecahan masalah masih terbatas. Model Problem-Based Learning (PBL) menghadirkan permasalahan nyata yang mendorong siswa untuk mengeksplorasi, berdiskusi, dan menyimpulkan, sedangkan strategi diferensiasi memungkinkan guru menyesuaikan pembelajaran dengan kesiapan, minat, dan gaya belajar siswa. Kajian ini menggunakan metode systematic literature review (SLR) berbasis PRISMA dengan menganalisis lima artikel terakreditasi SINTA (tiga SINTA 2 dan dua SINTA 3) yang terbit pada periode 2019–2024. Analisis dilakukan secara deskriptif dan ditampilkan dalam tabel perbandingan. Hasil studi menegaskan bahwa PBL berbasis pembelajaran berdiferensiasi berpengaruh positif dalam mengembangkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa SMA. Pendekatan ini meningkatkan keterlibatan aktif sekaligus menyesuaikan kebutuhan individu, sehingga proses belajar menjadi lebih bermakna dan sesuai arah Kurikulum Merdeka.

Abstract

Hasil analisis awal keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik Fase E di SMAN 1 Pariangan menunjukkan penerapan model Problem Based Learning selama ini belum mampu mengembangkan keterampilan berpikir kritis dan kurangnya bekal pengetahuan serta keaktifan peserta didik. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh penugasan mind map pada model Problem Based Learning terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik Fase E SMAN 1 Pariangan pada materi virus. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen dengan rancangan pretest-posttest control group design. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa lembar soal pretest-posttest dalam bentuk esai yang telah valid dan reliabel. Hasil penelitian diperoleh data nilai keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi dari pada kelas kontrol. Uji paired sample t-test mendapatkan hasil bahwa penugasan mind map pada model PBL berpengaruh terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik fase E SMAN 1 Pariangan pada materi virus.

Abstract

Usaha Mikro Kecil Menengah (UMKM) adalah suatu kegiatan ekonomi yang berperan penting untuk suatu negara atau daerah. UMKM merupakan kegiatan ekonomi kecil yang berpengaruh besar dalam industri rumahan dan kegiatan ekonomi yang memiliki peran besar dalam menyerap tenaga kerja yang besar. Bisnis laundry merupakan salah satu jenis UKM dalam industri rumahan bidang jasa yang sedang berkembang saat ini. Laundry menyediakan jasa pencucian pakaian mulai proses pencucian hingga pengeringan dan hingga tahap penyelesaian dimana pakaian diberikan kepada konsumen sesuai dengan yang diharapkan. Namun, pada massa pandemi bisnis laundry tersebut terkena dampak dari adanya Covid-19 sehingga mengalami penurunan omzet. Pada Kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk Meningkatkan omzet penjualan UMKM jasa Zahra Laundry selama masa Pandemi Covid-19. Sasaran pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini di tujukan kepada salah satu warga Saok Laweh Kecamatan Kubung Kabupaten Solok yang mempunyai UMKM, yaitu penyedia jasa Laundry. Solusi agar laundry tidak mengalami penurunan omzet adalah membuat packaging agar menarik dan pelanggan merasa puas setelah memakai jasa Zahra Laundry tersebut. Serta membuat suatu sistem pelayanan yang baru guna mempercepat pelayanan.

Abstract

In fact, awareness of waste management is still low in Nagari Tanjung Balik, Solok Regency. Based on initial observations, it is known that students at Nagari Tanjung Balik Elementary School do not yet have awareness of waste management. Furthermore, even though since 2022, Nagari Tanjung Balik has had a Waste Bank under the guidance of Universitas Negeri Padang Community Development Team, there has been no contribution from the total of five elementary schools in Nagari Tanjung Balik to the Waste Bank. This is of course not in line with the Nagari Tanjung Balik program which has attempted to intensify waste management in order to create a sustainable environment. Therefore, the solution offered is to provide education to elementary school students who are members of the KKG Cluster III Tanjung Balik Elementary School, X Koto Above District regarding waste management.

Abstract

Assessment plays an important role in determining the achievement of educational goals, so evaluation has a strategic role in the world of education. To ensure effective and efficient evaluation, it is necessary to use appropriate and reliable assessment instruments. Teachers have a big responsibility in developing the ability to create assessment instruments to measure students' attitudes, knowledge and skills, so that educational goals can be achieved accurately. The aim of this research is to analyze prospective teachers' abilities in designing attitude assessment instruments. This research uses a quantitative descriptive approach using student performance assessment instruments in creating attitude assessment instruments in biology learning. Indicators for measuring students' ability to create attitude instruments are 1) suitability of instrument components, 2) suitability of attitude assessment aspects with competency achievement indicators, 3) suitability of the rubric formulated with aspects of attitude assessment, 4) suitability of the formulation of the assessment rubric with statements, 5) Using language which is good and correct, does not use regional languages. The research results show that the ability of prospective biology teacher students in making attitude assessment instruments is still at medium criteria (67.82%).

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of the Problem-Based Learning model on the development of students' critical thinking skills and environmental concern through meta-analysis research. Meta-analysis was carried out on 33 relevant national and international articles. Data collection was carried out through a systematic literature search on academic databases such as Sinta, Scopus, Web of Science, Google Scholar, and Eric Journal. Based on the results of the study, it showed an increase in the average pretest score of 67.09 to 80.98 on the posttest, as well as the size effect (ES) which ranged from 0.66 to 0.89. Data shows that the application of PBL is able to improve students' analytical thinking skills while fostering awareness of environmental issues. PBL, as an authentic problem-solving-based model, has a significant positive impact with consistent results at various levels of education, both secondary and tertiary. This study also identifies factors that support the success of PBL, such as learning design, the quality of interaction between students and teachers, and the relevance of the context of the problems presented. With an average error standard of ≈ 0.05, the results of this study have a high level of reliability. These results have important implications for the development of education policies to integrate the PBL model in the curriculum to improve students' critical thinking skills and environmental concerns. Abstract

The topic of cells and substance transport across membranes is a fundamental component of biology instruction for Phase F students, as outlined in the Kurikulum Merdeka. However, the abstract nature of the material—characterized by numerous scientific terms and the inability to be directly observed—often poses challenges for student comprehension. Additionally, limitations in instructional media and teaching materials further hinder the learning process. This study aims to analyze the need for developing a biology booklet as a teaching resource on cell structures and membrane transport mechanisms for Phase F senior high school students. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the Four-D development model, with the current focus on the define phase. The study involved both teachers and Phase F students, with data collected through questionnaires regarding biology learning experiences and interest in educational media. Descriptive-qualitative analysis was conducted to provide an overview of instructional material needs. The results indicate that although students exhibit a high interest in biology, many still struggle to understand the topic of cells and membrane transport. The majority of respondents expressed a need for a booklet as a learning medium to support concept comprehension through visual and systematic presentation. It can therefore be concluded that developing a booklet on this topic is a concrete necessity that may enhance the effectiveness of biology instruction in senior high schools.
