Abstract

Green open space is a space wchich is filled by the herbs and plants that are able to accommodate human activity in an environment. As for the research conducted in this study is housed in open green space of Putri Kaca Mayang at Jenderal Sudirman street of Pekanbaru. The purpose in this research is to find out how the utilization of green open space for the people of the city of Pekanbaru, i.e. as seen from the aspect of leisure as a means of entertainmentand and as a means of exercise. Furthermore, there are factors that can be the catalyst and a barrier for visitors in visiting the open green space. The theory used is a social exchange theory of George C. Humans. This type of research using quantitative descriptive approach with 75 samples as respondents from taking engineering quota sampling. The data collected by the data collection techniques in the form of questionnaires, observation and documentation. Research results in the field say the park is beneficial as a recreational park entertainment with 93.3%, 6.7% less useful, and category doesn’t rewarding 0.0%. based on the utilization of children as a means of sports by category often do sports on site research thet is 17.3%, 45.3% rarely do sports and 37.3% never do sports on site grounds. The driving factor in visiting the garden for visitors that is 50.6% over a garden layout of a combination to factors and strategic factors in the garden free of charge. restricting of factor, jammed around the garden in the afternoon and a separate garden form factor.Keywords : utilization, green open spaces, driving factor and factor inhibitor.

Abstract

This research was conducted in the Agung Jagatnatha Temple of Pekanbaru. The purpose of this research was to analyze how the presence of Hindu’s and lived in Pekanbaru with describe the social practices of the theory of habitus, capital, and arena based on Bourdieu's theory, as well as adaptation to the existence in developing religious social activities to live a life that is lived in urban areas such as in the city of Pekanbaru. The subject in this study consist of seven people. The subject of this research is where Hindu’s who actively come and influential religious social activities in following in Agung Jagatnatha Temple with long settled in Pekanbaru. Sampling is done by accidental sampling techniques. Instrument data are observation, interview, and documentation. The author uses descriptive qualitative methods with data analysis refers to the concept of Milles & Huberman consists of data collection, data presentation, reduction of data and withdrawal of the conclusion. The results showed that capital used by Hindu’s in Pekanbaru in the presence of social capital in the form of solidarity, confidence, attitude of tolerance, social interaction and network proximity between interesting people, as well as the forms of participation that done Hindu’s, while more cultural capital to social religious activities, the implementation of religious ceremonies, the application of capital of culture on children and between Hindu’s, as well as the expectations of Hindu’s in developing implementation. Capital economics, the Dharma Karya cooperation, Suka Duke gathering, fundraising, as well as more symbolic capital to social roles owned by Hindu’s against Temple surroundings. As for the strategy of Hindu’s in developing social activities of religious existence in Pekanbaru shows that there is a biological strategy, investment strategy, successive strategy educational and economic strategy. Adaptation of Hindu’s society in Pekanbaru was included in the minority with capital obtained comes from the Hindu community of its own, such as the PHDI (Parisadha Hindu Dharma Indonesia) as well as the WHDI (Wanita Hindu Dharma Indonesia) by having a religious ceremony hereditary that should be conserved.Keywords : Adaptation, Hindu’s, Capital, Strategy

Abstract

Activist student organization Sociology Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Riau University. This research was conducted at the Department of Sociology, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, University of Riau. The purpose of this study was to determine the extent of student activity in entering an intra-campus organization, the background of the student entering the organization, and the material and non-material benefits gained by activists. In terms of determining the informant using purposive sampling technique that is predetermined. The number of informants in this study were 6 people who were students who organized in the campus. The theory used is the Structural Functionalism (AGIL) theory of Talcott Parsons. The results of the study found that, overall the informants were very active in participating in the activities of intra-campus organizations, as well as students who entered the organization of their own desires. According to the informant, entering the organization must know the meaning and purpose of the organization. However, not all informants adapt in the organization according to the environment, there are those who still follow rather than their thoughts. The informant said that the goal when students enter the organization is not a waste because, students will get lots of new experiences that can be used as lessons, new knowledge that can be used after graduating from tertiary institutions or even can be sold very profitable in the future, and relations that are very helpful in the world of work going forward. Integration is carried out by activist students by maintaining their goal of achieving a unified whole. The pattern of maintenance carried out by the informant is to do the habits and norms that exist within the organization. The informant said that was their process of organizing to be able to play a role in their surroundings. Keywords: Activist, Students

Abstract

The research purposes to investigate how Nias immigrant adapts in social and economy in Kelurahan Sail Rw27/RT003. Adaptation of social and economy of Nias community in Pekanbaru is examined through mix analysis of quantitative and qualitative. In collecting data, the researcher utilized an interview to 48 respondents. The research is proven by video record and field note.The result of the research shown that the forms of social economy adaptation are done by Nias community still closed. The adaptation being done will be opened if there is a necessity. The adaptations being done are mutual cooperation, marriage habit and religion custom. The economy adaptation can be seen through trade activity and daily work as brick maker. To maximaze the income of Nias community as the brick maker, they exploit their children and wife to increase the family income.Key Words: Adaptation, Migration, Nias

Abstract

As a vegetable farmer who has imited land, the farmers in the Sub-district Kampung Manggis have their own difficulties in fulfilling their family’s economic needs. This study was conducted in the Sub-district of Manggis Village, West Padang Panjang District, Padang Panjang City. The goal is to find out the vegetable farmer’s survival strategy. Sample writing techniques using purposive sampling in determining the informant. The research methods used are qualitative descriptive research methods.Purposive sampling is the taking of the subject based on certain criteria and the subject has problems in farming and economics. The theory used is the survival theory of Pierre Bordieu, which is a long-term strategy including biological investment strategies and symbolic investment strategies,as well as short-term strategies, namely successive strategies, educational strategies  amd economic investment strategies. The result of the writing explains. (1) The Biological Investment Strategy is not implemented by vegetable farmers in the village of Manggis Village. (2) Successive Strategy are implemented by reducing the expenditure money. (3) Educational Strategies are carried out by following a farmer groups.(4) Economic Investment Strategy is carried out by increasing capital by borrowing money from relatives, and increasing social capital. (5) Simbolic Investmen Strategy carried out by improving children’s education up to university.   Keywords: Survial Strategy, Vegetable Farmers.

Abstract

The scriptwriter "bangliau" in the subdistrict of the cotton soils of lower rokan (the women's life study "provides an overview of the particularly lives of women making fish and wants to know the wages and adaptive strategies women use for the viability of lower rokan district. The method used in this study is a descriptive qualitative method. Where the study has found that there are several strategies that salt-making female employees use in meeting their life's needs, which are the first three strategies of active strategies, the second of passive strategies and network strategies. The women who make icana sin in the panipahan have an active strategy of doing side jobs by preparing for it at home or in storage, and so on. The passive strategy is a survival strategy employed by saltfish-making women by applying to be thrifty in the day-to-day living expenses of the family, a small income requiring the saltfish-making family to apply provident living such as reducing the child's spending on school and insufficient kitchen costs. The net strategy employed by salt-fish women in the panadea in the face of difficulty or lack of money commonly women borrow money from tauke and other relatives, where the female workers who make salty fish complain when there are difficulties such as no pawn shops for shopping or child school. Keywords: the lives of women who make salted fish, adaptive strategies in the galaxy

Abstract

This research was carried out in the village of Indragiri Hulu Regency Gutter Jerinjing. The purpose of this research is to know the role of customs in the implementation of dance fabrics in the implementation of the gadget in the village of Talang Jerinjing. Topic the focus of this research is to know the meaning of each of the symbols used on the dance fabrics in the implementation of the gadget in the village of Talang Jerinjing. The sample in this research totalled 5. The author uses qualitative methods and use techniques the taking of purposive sampling. Data instruments are observation, interview and documentation. From the research that is done, the author finds there are several meanings of Dance Fabrics On Gawai Talang Mamak Tribes i.e. Marriage as follows: motion, movement in the dance of the fabric means that all existing in motion dance fabrics, cannot be separated from elements the beauty and also the cultural values of the indigenous Talang Mamak tribes especially for brides who marry. In the property, property in dance Fabrics should be equipped, namely: cloth Gloves, cloth themselves aprons/Off/Tarap and Headband/head of Tapas. If the third object does not complete then it's effect on the bride. Many of the result obtained and felt on this custom event if the bride does not comply with the established customs that his life ntah not harmony. In music, dance Fabrics For the use of this instrument only as a counterpoint to the dance. However, in the procession of the second use of the Gadget's own instrument effect on brides who are getting married. One of them at a time when food named this sdah arise from migration is finished cooking, and was about to be brought into the home is obliged to emit music. Therefore the last historically otherwise sounding music, later susatu the moment the bride have children, children belonging to them that no hearing/sensitive. Abstract

Interest in reading is a source of motivation that influence the learning process, thedevelopment of science, and encouraging to observe, to feel interested and excited towardsreading activities that they want to do these activities with a will of its own. The phenomenon ofinterest in reading among students has become a common thing in the lecture. Many studentslack the reading interests. Student is one component of the academic community who arestudying science, and therefore should be read subject the student agenda. By reading will makea source of inspiration, a source of knowledge and hone student criticality. The purpose of theresearch conducted to determine the interest in reading among students Strata 1 (S1) in theFaculty of Social and Political Sciences, University of Riau Pekanbaru with a focus on studentcharacteristics, interests and reasons for students to read, perceived satisfaction in readingactivities in the course. Respondents in this study amounted to 6 students with the characteristicsof S1, a student, has a level of diligent and industrious conduct reading activities. The method isused to analyze the qualitative descriptive data retrieval technique that is by observation,questionnaires and interviews. Based on the research, it was concluded that in general,respondents had an interest and reading different reason for understanding the activity ofreading, awareness of the benefits of reading, use of time reading and other types of readingpassages also vary. In general, respondents do activities reads as there are elements ofsatisfaction and interest in reading activities, students want to do so.Keywords: Interest In Reading and College student

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apa saja strategi dan hambatan yang dialami pedagang kecil dalam mempertahankan eksistensinya sebagai pedagang kecil. Untuk menganalisa data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan analisa data kuantitatif. Saat ini sektor informal berkembang pesat di Indonesia, khususnya di kota-kota besar. Salah satu contoh dari sektor usaha informal yang dapat dengan mudah di jumpai di masyarakat adalah pedagang kecil, baik itu pedagang kaki lima, pedagang asongan , pedagang kelontong dan pedagang kecil lainnya. Usaha kecil menengah menjadi pusat perhatian tingkat perekonomian dan pengetahuan yang kurang maju dalam berbisnis. Usaha kecil menghadapi kendala-kendala dalam mempertahankan atau mengembangkan usaha antara lain kurang pengetahuan pengelolaan usaha, kurang modal dan lemah di bidang pemasaran. Kondisi pasar yang dihadapi usaha kecil adalah persaingan monopolistik di samping itu merupakan fakta yang perlu diperhatikan. Berbagai bentuk strategi pun harus bisa dibuat oleh pedagang kecil dalam mempertahankan konsumen yang semulanya sudah menjadi langganan tetap mereka. Kondisi persaingan menuntut pemilik usaha harus mampu mengantisipasi perubahan-perubahan yang terjadi di dalam pasar dan dengan tanggap mengadaptasi bisnis mereka sehingga selalu sesuai dengan gaya hidup dari pasar. Strategi bertahan hidup yang paling banyak pedagang lakukan adalah strategi aktif dan strategi jaringan. Strategi aktif dengan mencari pekerjaan sampingan dan memanfaatkan segala potensi keluarga. Strategi ini menjadi amat penting karena dalam melakukan kegiatan sehari-hari dapat memperbaiki kualitas hidup pedagang sehingga kebutuhan hidup mereka dapat terpenuhi. Strategi jaringan juga efektif dilakukan untuk bertahan hidup karena dengan terjalinnya hubungan yang baik antara pedagang dan kerabatnya bisa menumbuhkan rasa saling membantu dan juga saling membutuhkan satu dengan lainnya. Dan apabila keluarga pedagang berada pada masa sulit, mereka bisa meminjam uang pada kerabat terdekat atau tetangga yang tentunya memiliki hubungan baik dengan mereka.Adapun hambatan yang di alami responden dalam mempertahankan eksistensinya sebagai pedagang antara lain tingkat kepuasan pembeli, adanya pembeli yang berhutang, persaingan dengan usaha sejenis yang memiliki modal besar dab terbatasnya modal untuk mengembangkan usaha.Kata kunci : Eksistensi, Strategi, Pedagang Kecil

Abstract

A message has a different meaning between one individual and another. Then the message relates to the interpretation problem that received it. The present meaning is a social construction. This research aims to determine the motivation of students in the achievement of Riau University in 2019 female gender. The research informant is a student who participated in the selection of outstanding student (PILMAPRES) Riau university of 2019 especially female student located in the University of Riau. In this research the authors used purposive sampling techniques where this technique includes the people selected on the basis of certain criteria made based on research objectives. Then the data is analyzed using qualitative method. In this research, the author finds the character of the background difference between the informant which does not affect the motivation of the informant in participating in the outstanding student selection and in following the process of learning teaching in the classroom. For her, the pattern of life on campus and environment is very influential in participating pilmapres. In addition, the authors find that the meaning of education is very important considering that education includes a fundamental need for every individual, including (1) Education as a container of self-development, and (2) education as a supporting career and goals. The factors that encourage the informant to participate in outstanding student selection consist of various motives, including because the informant considers the outstanding student selection as an event model role, a self-proving event and an event to add insight to every finalically.  Keywords : Outstanding Student, Motivation.
