Abstract

Fenomena menunjukan kegagalan mahasiswa dalam mengonstruksi bukti secara sintaksis dikarenakan mahasiswa tidak berpikir analitik. Kemampuan mahasiswa dalam mengonstruksi bukti sangat menentukan keberhasilannya mempelajari matematika tingkat lanjut, sehingga penelitian untuk mengungkap fenomena ini penting dilakukan. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan berpikir analitik mahasiswa dalam mengonstruksi bukti secara sintaksis. Untuk mengetahui berpikir analitik mahasiswa, peneliti memberikan masalah pembuktian kepada sekelompok mahasiswa yang telah menempuh Geometri. Dilihat dari keanalitikan jawaban mahasiswa, peneliti menemukan tiga kategori berpikir, yaitu; (1) analitik, (2) semi analitik, dan (3) pre analitik. Berpikir analitik ditandai oleh adanya konstruksi bukti yang jelas, kejelasan algoritma, keruntutuan penalaran, penggunaan simbol secara tepat, setiap pernyataan dilandasi oleh alasan yang tepat dan langkah yang efektif. Berpikir semi analitik ditandai oleh adanya “elemen pengganggu” pemutus rantai implikasi. Berpikir pre analitik ditandai oleh penggunaan gambar sebagai bukti.Kata Kunci : Berpikir Analitik, Bukti, Sintaksis.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to know the implementation of numeracy literacy-based questions in schools. The research method used in this research is descriptive research, namely a type of research that aims to provide an overview of a certain phenomenon. The data collection instrument was a questionnaire. The research period was in June-July 2023, consisting of students in grades 4, 5 and 6 of SDN 1 Sidorejo. The research data was analyzed descriptively quantitatively in the form of percentages. The research results showed that the question statements given by the teacher were carried out using arithmetic operations, 81% often and 19% rarely. Question statements in the form of reading or descriptions was always 64.5% and often 35.5%. The question statement was accompanied by a graph, 87% rarely and 13% never. The question statements were accompanied by a table, 71% often and 29% rarely. The question statements were accompanied by pictures, 48% frequently and 52% rarely. The question statements were accompanied by a diagram, 9.5% always, 81% often, and 9.6% rarely. The question statement required making estimates or conjectures, 6.5% often, 29% rarely, 64.5% never. The question statement required determining how to solve the problem in the question, 19.4% always, 42% often, 25.8% rarely, and 12.6% never. Based on the results of the analysis above, the using of literacy questions in learning activities was still not optimal. This can be seen from aspects of literacy-based questions that were still not fully implemented.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi karakteristik computational thinking (CT) yang dimiliki calon guru matematika pada materi pola bilangan ditinjau dari generalisasi yang dimilikinya. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan jenis studi kasus jamak. Subjek penelitian ini dikategorikan menjadi tiga jenis yaitu, (1) S1A adalah calon guru matematika yang dapat menemukan nilai dan , serta dapat menemukan bentuk pola umum ( yang melibatkan , (2) S2 adalah calon guru matematika yang dapat menemukan nilai dan , serta dapat menemukan pola umum ( sederhana tanpa melibatkan , dan (3) S3 adalah calon guru matematika yang dapat menemukan nilai dan , namun tidak dapat menemukan bentuk pola umum ( . Dua subjek dipilih dari setiap kategori melalui purposive sampling. Instrumen penelitian ini terdiri atas peneliti, tes tertulis berupa lembar tugas terkait computational thinking pada materi pola bilangan, pedoman wawancara semi-terstruktur, alat rekam audio, dan catatan peneliti. Teknik pengambilan data melalui purposive sampling. Teknik analisis data kualitatif yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah interaktif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa, Terdapat tiga jenis karakteristik CT calon guru matematika meliputi, (1) karakteristik CT S1 yaitu, memiliki generalisasi dekat dalam pemecahan masalah dan memiliki generalisasi simbolik dalam penentuan pola umum, (2) karakteristik CT S2 yaitu, memiliki generalisasi jauh dalam pemecahan masalah dan memiliki generalisasi simbolik dalam penentuan pola umum, serta (3) karakteristik CT S3 yaitu, memiliki generalisasi dekat dalam pemecahan masalah, kemudian dalam penemuan kesamaan dalam barisan bilangan, S3A memiliki generalisasi kontekstual dan S3B memiliki generalisasi faktual. Pemahaman terkait karakterisasi computational thinking calon guru matematika ditinjau dari generalisasi ini dapat digunakan calon guru maupun guru sebagai sumber rujukan dalam kegiatan pembelajaran.

Abstract

This qualitative case study examines the effectiveness of the SPLDV Board, a color-coded manipulative tool, in teaching systems of linear equations with two variables to 37 mathematics education students. Through inquiry-based instruction and systematic questioning, the study analyzed students' conceptual understanding, procedural fluency, and engagement patterns. Results demonstrated that the SPLDV Board's visual scaffolding significantly improved students' ability to identify coefficients, execute cross-multiplication procedures, and understand underlying mathematical structures, with all participants achieving fluent responses to guiding questions. However, limitations emerged: the tool only works for systems with unique solutions and some students remained passive during instruction. Findings provide practical guidance for developing accessible manipulative materials that support both procedural and conceptual learning in algebra, with design principles transferable to other mathematical topics requiring multi-step problem-solving.

Abstract

This study investigates the effectiveness of the Paputri (Trigonometric Rotating Board) audio-visual aid in enhancing the quality of mathematics learning, particularly in trigonometry. Employing a qualitative case study approach, the research involved third-semester students majoring in Mathematics Education at Universitas Negeri Malang, who acted as direct users of the teaching aid. The instruments used included the Paputri media, video recordings, and field notes. Data were collected through classroom observations and interactive analysis of video documentation and evaluation notes. The findings reveal that the integration of Paputri in trigonometry instruction effectively promotes students’ critical thinking, engagement, and conceptual understanding. Moreover, it fosters a more interactive and enjoyable learning environment that motivates students to actively participate in the learning process. These results highlight the pedagogical potential of manipulative and visual media in supporting mathematics learning. In conclusion, the use of Paputri as an audio-visual aid has a positive impact on students’ comprehension of trigonometric concepts. The study recommends that mathematics teachers incorporate similar innovative media in trigonometry teaching to enhance student engagement and enrich learning experiences.

Abstract

Mathematics learning must consider students’ diverse needs to achieve optimal outcomes, including differences in learning styles, levels of understanding, and learning difficulties. Applying Bloom’s Taxonomy helps teachers design more effective strategies, yet many still neglect thorough planning, treating it as a yearly routine. To overcome this, teacher collaboration is essential. This study aimed to facilitate a lesson study involving mathematics teachers from the Mathematics Teachers’ Association (MGMPS) in Banyuwangi, junior high school students, pre-service teachers, and mathematics education lecturers. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, the research was conducted at a junior high school in Banyuwangi. The research used qualitative analysis with observations, reflections, and triangulation to align teaching strategies with students’ learning styles and understanding levels. The findings show that lesson study effectively enhances mathematics learning by accommodating students’ learning diversity. Through the stages of planning, observation, and reflection, teachers developed more responsive and differentiated lessons. Moreover, lesson study promoted professional growth among teachers through collaboration and reflective practice. Overall, lesson study provides a sustainable and adaptive approach to fostering inclusive and high-quality mathematics learning.  Keywords: Lesson study, learning style, mathematics learning

Abstract

Pembelajaran matematika di sekolah menengah pertama menuntut pendekatan yang dapat mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi. Pembelajaran berbasis masalah, yaitu model yang menempatkan peserta didik pada situasi bermasalah yang autentik untuk mendorong proses inkuiri, menjadi salah satu alternatif yang banyak digunakan. Penelitian ini bertujuan menilai efektivitas pembelajaran berbasis masalah terhadap hasil belajar kognitif matematika. Kajian literatur menunjukkan bahwa model ini meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah, penalaran matematis, komunikasi matematis, dan motivasi belajar peserta didik. Hasil utama memperlihatkan bahwa pencapaian peserta didik dengan pembelajaran berbasis masalah umumnya lebih baik daripada pembelajaran konvensional, meskipun efektivitasnya menurun pada peserta didik dengan kemampuan awal rendah. Artikel ini menyimpulkan bahwa keberhasilan penerapan model sangat bergantung pada kesiapan guru, karakteristik peserta didik, dan kualitas pelaksanaan pembelajaran. Oleh karena itu, direkomendasikan peningkatan kompetensi guru serta penguatan dukungan pembelajaran untuk mengoptimalkan proses inkuiri dan hasil belajar matematika.
