Abstract

Entering the industrial era 4.0, technology continues to develop and is used to improve company performance. This emphasizes the occurrence of disruption between companies which is mainly driven using this technology. Previous studies have emphasized the importance of innovation to overcome this condition. Astra Group as one of the conglomerate groups in Indonesia has understood and implemented this consistently and persistently. For this reason, the innovation management model in this group is important to be investigated further to provide understanding and scientific contributions related to innovation management in corporations. From the literature, at least three important factors were found in the management of innovation, namely 1) managerial capabilities, 2) adhocracy culture, and 3) knowledge sharing on innovation capabilities and performance in this group. The findings may contribute to an opportunity for researchers to confirm this model in future research.

Abstract

As the family firms grow, they face the challenges of moral hazard and nepotism. To overcome these challenges, family firms should instill integrity values in their family members and employees so that they behave ethically. Integrity strengthens employee effectiveness, loyalty, and ethical behavior, leading to firm performance. This study investigates the emergence of integrity behavior in employees of a family firm. The aim is to examine the relationship between employees' attitudes, subjective norms, perceived behavioral control (PBC), intention, and behavior toward integrity. The study was conducted in an Indonesian public family firm operating as an interior contractor and furniture manufacturer. This study analyzes 433 cases and found a significant positive relationship among these variables. Interestingly, integrity subjective norm is the strongest factor influencing integrity behavior, fully mediated by integrity intention. Considering that integrity attitude should be the most influential factor forming integrity behavior, this study suggests that family firms design a selection process that can recruit candidates with an integrity attitude.

Private hospitals play a crucial role, and patient loyalty is essential for their success. This study aims to contribute to hospital strategy development by understanding factors influencing patient loyalty to private hospitals in Indonesia. Specifically, it explores the relationships between hospital image, Word of Mouth (WoM), patient satisfaction, and loyalty. A quantitative, cross-sectional study was conducted in Jakarta from September to October 2023. Data was collected from 131 out of 156 respondents at a private hospital in Jakarta using a validated questionnaire. SmartPLS 4 was employed for analysis. Hospital image significantly influences patient loyalty directly and indirectly through patient satisfaction. Positive WoM has a significant impact on both patient satisfaction and loyalty. The study confirms the positive correlation between hospital image, patient satisfaction and loyalty. The study emphasizes the importance of building and maintaining a positive hospital image through effective marketing, active WoM management, and service quality improvement. Strategies focusing on these aspects are recommended to strengthen patient relationships, enhance reputation, and remain competitive in the challenging healthcare industry. Future research should delve into factors reinforcing patient loyalty, explore the impact of digital marketing strategies on hospital image, investigate variables moderating the relationship between positive WoM and patient satisfaction, and explore effective patient feedback management strategies focusing on information technology.

Abstract

Abstract The special autonomy policy, which provides flexibility in the procurement process for goods and services, including direct appointments with procurement values reaching a maximum of two billion rupiah, has opened up opportunities for the involvement of local entrepreneurs with low qualifications in infrastructure projects, particularly road construction in Sorong Regency, Southwest Papua. The implementation of this policy has faced various challenges. The lack of technical and managerial knowledge among service providers with low qualifications often results in work that does not comply with the Terms of Reference (TOR), the prevalence of informal subcontracting practices, and construction quality that does not meet technical standards. Public satisfaction is also low due to the rapid deterioration of the infrastructure being built. The local government does not yet have a measurable evaluation instrument to assess the performance of projects carried out by local entrepreneurs with low qualifications. This study aims to explore the factors causing the low quality of work carried out by local entrepreneurs with low qualifications, so that strategies can be developed to address the low quality of work handovers. Through qualitative methods in the form of literature reviews and in-depth interviews, this study produces factors that are considered to influence the low quality of project handovers by local entrepreneurs with low qualifications. This research can be utilized by local governments in developing strategies for compiling performance indicators based on the resulting factors.
