Abstract

The Lack of attention to the writing aspect in khot learning can have a negative impact on students' ability to understand and interpret the rules of khot. This study aims to analyze the implementation of khot learning at the Nahdlatul 'Ulum Metro Lampung Islamic Boarding School and identify the obstacle factors. The approach of this research uses qualitative descriptive methods and data collection in this study is by observation, interview, and documentation techniques. The data analysis used in this study is a miles and huberman analysis through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The result of this research is that Khot Learning is carried out in a structured manner through four stages: The introduction stage as the initial basic understanding, the basic practice stage as strengthening, the development stage as the deepening stage, and the application and creativity stage as the stage of art production and expression. And obstacles in learning khot are technical obstacles such as inadequate infrastructure and limited time, non-technical obstacles such as the motivation and interests of students who are not the same, as well as academic/pedagogical obstacles such as difficulties in asking questions and difficulties in understanding the structure, arrangement, and writing techniques of Arabic letters.

Abstract

Language is a tool used to communicate between humans both verbally and in writing. In class learning, there are also students who have difficulty writing Arabic. There are many difficulties or problems with the Maharah of the Book in learning Arabic experienced by students or santri. Therefore, the researcher discusses the difficulties of maharah kitabah in learning Arabic at the Baitul Mustaqim Islamic boarding school. This research uses a qualitative approach with library study techniques and data collection using observation. The results of the research show that some of the students at the Baitul Mustaqim Islamic boarding school still experience difficulties in understanding the Kitabah. Therefore, the solution to overcome students' difficulties in writing Arabic is to increase students' motivation regarding the importance of writing Arabic, try to use suitable methods, strategies and media, always provide Arabic writing practice every class hour, and always provide language writing assignments. Arabic so that students learn to write not only in class.

Abstract

Isu pengembangan program studi Pendidikan Bahasa Arab telah mendapatkan perhatian oleh para ketua/ koordinator program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Arab se-Indonesia. Beberapa agenda pun dicanangkan dalam rangka menyatukan langkah menuju perbaikan program secaran nasional. Salah satunya adalah kegiatan Rakernas dan Semiloka PPPBA Indonesia yang berlangsung di Malang pada tanggal 24-26 Agustus 2022. pada kegiatan tersebut dibahas tentang Best practice kurikulum PBA berbasis MBKM, Bedah instrumen akreditasi prodi dan Akreditasi internasional (Aqas). Di sisi lain, para ketua prodi PBA se-Indonesia saling bertukar program pengembangan yang dibuktikan dengan penandatangan MoU masing-masing Pengelola program studi. Hal ini membuktikan bahwa program studi PBA dari perguruan tinggi Islam se-Indonesia, terus bergerak dan bersinergi dalam rangka mengembangkan program sesuai dengan tuntutan zaman. Program studi Pendidikan Bahasa Arab IAIN Ternate sebelumnya juga terus berbenah dengan berusaha menciptakan bi’ah lughawiyah melalui kegiatan daurah arabiyah, rihlah ilmiah dan program stimulasi metode pembelajaran Bahasa Arab. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan library research sebagai bentuk kajiannya. pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif Seluruh data dan informasi yag diperoleh baik dari penelusuran literature terkait maupun hasil wawancara dan observasi, diolah dengan menggunakana analisi deskristif kualitatif melalui kerangka acuan deduktif. Kerangka acuan deduktif yang dimaksud adalah dengan menjabarkan informasi sekompleks mungkin kemudian diambil sebuah kesimpulan akhir yang mencakup keseluruhan data dan informasi terkait analisa pengembangan program studi pendidikan bahasa Arab di IAIN Ternate. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bukti adanya upaya yang dilakukan oleh pengelola dalam mengembangkan program studi pendidikan bahasa Arab di IAIN Ternate. Program tersebut jika secara kontinu dilakukan, maka tentu akan menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang kondusif dan menyenangkan bagi para mahasiswa PBA IAIN Ternate. Dengan terciptanya lingkungan belajar yang kondusif, maka bukan tidak mungkin PBA IAIN Ternate sebagai satu-satunya penyelanggara Pendidikan Bahasa Arab di Provinsi Maluku Utara, akan menjadi salah program studi yang diminati di masa yang akan datang

Abstract

This paper aims to reveal the mistakes of micro Arabic in the aspects of Ilm Saut (phonology), Sharaf (morphology), Nahw (Syntax), and 'Ilm Dalalah (Semantics) in preaching materials conveyed by ustadz and ustadzah included in the groups of "Ustadz Sunnah" and "Islam itu Indah". Arabic mistakes are often made by ustadz and ustadzah who often appear on social media. In general, an ustadz must have good Arabic language skills. The vast emergence of ustadz and ustadzah on social media is allegedly not accompanied by their qualified mastery of the primary language used in Islamic teaching sources and primary books, namely Arabic. Hence, the researchers used micro linguistic theories comprising the studies of phonology, morphology, syntax, and semantics therein. This study applied a descriptive-qualitative method. Researchers not only described the Arabic mistakes made by those of "Ustadz Sunnah” and "Islam itu Indah" but also provided corrections to such mistakes. In analyzing the data, the researchers used a separate analysis method. The findings demonstrated that those of "Ustaz Sunnah" and "Islam itu Indah” made mistakes in verbal Arabic at phonemic, morphemic, syntactic, and semantic levels.

Abstract

This study aims to work on an ASP (Arabic for Specific Purposes) model designed by Arabic-speaking tour guides. As the background, the increase in the number of tourists coming from the Middle East from year to year shows that Indonesian tourism is in high demand, but it seems that the tourism industry in Indonesia does not expect the number of tourists coming from the Middle East to increase because both the government and the private sector are doing more promotion. Arabic language teaching especially in the realm of tourism becomes the center of this study. This research uses a qualitative approach, and the data collection techniques subsume interviews, observations, and documentation from the implementation of ASP training in Jogjakarta. This study has found that the ASP Model for tourism is student-centered learning with practical-based learning strategies considering needs analysis and prior information. ASP model is prepared for students at an advanced level. Students are also familiar with the basics of tourist guidance and interpretation skills in tourism. The foregoing is underlined by a notion that the teaching of ASP for tourism is inseparable from fluency of speech and comfortable statements.

Abstract

This research is aimed to improve the reading comprehension through schema activation strategy. Classroom Action Research (CAR) was conducted in two cycles and each cycle consisted of four phases. They were planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. The subjects of the study were 34 students of Class VIII A of SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Godean. There were two forms of data in this study. The qualitative data were collected through observation and interview. The data were presented in the form of field notes and interview transcripts. Then, the quantitative data were collected through Pre-test, Posttest I, and Posttest II. In reference to the application of the two cycles, the results of the research revealed that use of schema activation strategy successfully improved the students"˜reading comprehension. The students"˜interest and attention in the process of teaching and learning English, especially reading improved. They were also able to explore many words related to the topic of the lesson. In relation to their comprehension of English texts, the students were able to identify main ideas and supporting details of paragraphs correctly. Strategi skema pada materi reading comprehension untuk meningkatkan ketertarikan siswaPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman reading comprehension melalui penggunaan Schema Activation Strategy. Dalam melakukan penelitian ini, Peneliti menggunakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) sebagai metode penelitian. Penelitian dilakukan dalam dua siklus dan masing-masing siklus terdiri dari empat fase. Yaitu fase persiapan, aksi, observasi dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian adalah 34 siswa dari kelas VIII A SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Godean. Ada dua macam data yang dihimpun pada penelitian ini. Data kualitatif dikumpulkan melalui observasi dan wawancara. Kemudian data dipresentasikan dalam bentuk catatan dan transkip wawancara. Sedangkan, data kuantitatif dikumpulkan melalui Pre-Test, Post-test I, dan Post-test II. Hasil yang didapatkan setelah menerapkan dua siklus, yaitu penggunaan Schema Activation Strategy berjalan sukses meningkatkan pemahaman siswa pada bab Reading. Minat siswa dan perhatian dalam proses pengajaran dan pembelajaran bahasa Inggris, khususnya peningkatan dalam pemahaman Reading. Para siswa mampu mengeksplorasi banyak kata terkait topik pelajaran. Para siswa juga mampu memahami teks Bahasa Inggris, siswa juga mampu untuk mengindentifikasi ide pokok dan juga detail paragaraf secara benar.

Abstract

Teaching materials are a critical component in the curriculum that supports the learning process. This study analyzes the psychological aspects of the Arabic textbook for Grade VI, aiming to evaluate the effectiveness of the textbook in meeting the students' needs. The research method employed is descriptive qualitative with a literature study approach. The data sources consist of primary and secondary data relevant to the topic. The primary data in this study is the Arabic Textbook based on KMA Number 189 of 2019. Secondary data serves as a complement to provide additional information from the primary data and is obtained from several literatures such as academic journals and papers. The results of the study show that: (1) The textbook encourages students to learn independently through clear instructions and exercises that are relevant to daily life; (2) The textbook provides activities that stimulate students' creativity, such as thematic dialogues and tasks that require self-expression; (3) The textbook instills positive values such as discipline, responsibility, and care through practical learning materials; (4) The textbook helps students reflect on their learning process and organize learning strategies through language analysis and reflective exercises. Therefore, the Grade VI Arabic textbook is suitable for use, although there are several weaknesses that need to be addressed to enhance learning effectiveness.

Abstract

Arabic textbooks remain the primary reference in the learning process in Madrasahs; however, most of them have not thoroughly considered the socio-cultural, psychological, linguistic, and educational aspects. This gap can hinder the effectiveness of learning and students' understanding of the Arabic language. This study aims to analyze the feasibility of the Arabic textbook for VIII grade Madrasah Tsanawiyah (MTs) based on the perspectives of Abdullah al-Ghali and Abdul Hamid Abdullah, which includes four main aspects of material development. The research adopts a qualitative approach using literature review and content analysis methods. Data were gathered from the Ministry of Religious Affairs' Arabic textbook published in 2020, supported by relevant literature. The results indicate that the textbook performs well in socio-cultural and psychological aspects by integrating Islamic values and organizing content that aligns with students' developmental stages. However, in terms of linguistic and educational aspects, deficiencies were found, such as the absence of a glossary and the limited study guidelines, suggesting the need for further development to support effective and targeted learning.

Abstract

This article examines the grammatical (linguistic) approach in al-Munīr’s interpretation of Qur’anic verses related to religious moderation. However, previous studies generally discuss religious moderation thematically without examining the linguistic strategies used by Wahbah Zuḥaylī in Tafsir al-Munīr. How is nahwu analysis applied in the interpretation of verses on religious moderation and its linguistic implications in constructing a discourse of moderation? This study shows that the lughawī approach not only functions as a tool for text analysis but also as a mechanism for creating the meaning of moderation in contemporary tafsir. The primary focus of this study is how linguistic aspects, such as i’rab, mufradat meaning, balaghah, and syntactic and morphological structures, are used by Zuhaili to form a moderate narrative in a religious and national context. This study uses a qualitative method based on a literature review with a descriptive-analytical approach. Primary data is sourced from Tafsir al-Munir, while secondary data is obtained from other Arabic exegesis and linguistic works. The linguistic approach in this study focuses on nahwu analysis through i’rab and mufradat in Tafsir al-Munīr. The verses were selected thematically, in line with the Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs’ indicators of Religious Moderation. The results show that Zuhaili consistently applies a linguistic interpretation pattern through etymological, semantic, and syntactic approaches, which strengthen the understanding of verses on defending the country, tolerance, justice, leadership, and unity. The emphasis on the accuracy of word meaning and sentence structure in these verses clarifies messages of moderation, such as love for the homeland, anti-extremism, and respect for diversity

Abstract

The study of Ilmu Nahwu plays a central role in mastering the Arabic language; however, it continues to face various challenges, particularly in terms of student engagement and deep conceptual understanding. This study aims to examine the synergy between perception, cognition, and action in learning Nahwu through a psychopedagogical approach and to explore its impact on students’ self-awareness and academic resilience. Employing a qualitative method with an exploratory case study design, data were collected from five students of the Arabic Language Education Program at Universitas Ma’arif Lampung through in-depth interviews, classroom observations, and document analysis. The research instruments were developed based on a psychopedagogical framework, and the data were analyzed using Braun and Clarke’s thematic analysis. The findings indicate that high enthusiasm in learning Nahwu significantly shapes students’ comprehension of grammatical rules, positive attitudes toward the subject, and active engagement in the learning process. This enthusiasm is manifested in three interrelated dimensions: perception, cognition, and action. The interaction among these dimensions fosters not only a critical understanding of Nahwu but also the development of independent learning habits. Theoretically, this study positions enthusiasm as a key psychopedagogical construct that bridges perception, cognition, and action in Nahwu learning. Practically, the findings highlight the importance of implementing interactive teaching strategies that cultivate enthusiasm to strengthen students’ self-awareness and academic resilience, thereby promoting a sustainable and reflective learning culture in Arabic grammar education.
