Abstract

ABSTRACTBackground: Short-term memory plays a role in all children's cognitive processes both in understanding the language, working on the task and problem-solving process. The speed of cognitive processes in children depend on the degree of activation of short-term memory. With stimulation that given in the form of brain-activating movements is expected to integrate short-term memory and long-term memory to generate new knowledge or expand the existing load in long-term memory. Cognitive function and academic achievement can also be influenced by the level of physical fitness. Physical fitness is very useful to support the physical capacity of children who in the end expected to improve his performance. Objective: This research was conducted to find out how big increase of short-term memory and physical fitness at the addition of Brain Gym in SSAI program at elementary school student of Inpres Pondang. Method: This research is true experimental, using two group pre and post test control group design. This research was conducted at SD Inpres Pondang, 3 times weekly for 6 weeks, at January 22, 2018 - March 05, 2018. The sample of research is 42 people divided into two groups. The Control Group in the form of SSAI program and the Treatment Group was given the addition of Brain Gym in the SSAI program. The measuring instrument used to memory span to measure short-term memory and TKJI to measure physical fitness. Results: The results of hypothesis testing using Wilcoxon test and Mann Whitney test. Wilcoxon test results showed short-term memory improvement in the treatment group significantly (p<0.05), the control group showed significant short-term memory increase (p<0.05). The result of hypothesis test shows the value of increase of physical fitness index in the treatment group significantly (p<0.05). The increase value of physical fitness index in control group significantly (p<0.05). Mann Whitney test results showed the value of span digits in the treatment group and control group with p=0.005 (p<0.05). Physical fitness value in treatment group and control group with p value = 0.091 (p>0.05). Conclusion: Statistically there is a difference in the addition of brain gymnastics to SSAI in increasing short-term memory of elementary students. Statistically there is no difference in the addition of brain gymnastics in SSAI in improving physical fitness in elementary school students.Keywords: Short term memory, physical fitness, memory span, Indonesian physical fitness test, brain gym, healthy gymnastics Indonesian children.

Abstract

Aerobic physical activity that is carried out by someone with the proper intensity will providehealth benefits. Intensity aerobic activity is recommended moderate intensity, based on thepulse. Traditional dance is one of the AF aerobic. However, no studies have investigated howthe pulse pattern dancer when this traditional dance and how much energy consumption ofthis traditional dance. This study will provide scientific evidence that supports the traditionaldance as one of the aerobic physical activity choices. The study involved eight studentsdaughters to dance three types of traditional Balinese dance are common, namely Tari SekarJagat (TSJ), Tari Cendrawasih (TCN) and Tari Panyembrahma (TPM). Pulse measurementis done by using Telemetry Garmin Forerunner 404 continuously until the end of the dance.Measurement of the amount of energy used during the dance is the online calculation of theworkload on the Garmin website. The results showed that all three types of dance meets thecriteria of mild intensity aerobic physical activity - being. Highest pulse work found in theTCN pulse reaches 78% of maximum, while the TSJ and TPM, respectively 65% and 62%.The third dance training zone and reach steady state for 6 to 8 minutes. Highest energyconsumption found in dance TCN by 40 Calories, and TSJ and TPM, respectively 27 and 21Calories. Thus the three traditional Balinese dance meets the criteria as a mild-intensityaerobic exercise - is that can provide health benefits for dancers.

Abstract

Pendahuluan: Nyeri leher mekanik merupakan masalah besar yang sering dikeluhkan oleh pengguna smartphone. Penyebab utamanya karena faktor posisi forward head posture sewaktu melihat ke arah layar smartphone. Posisi ini tidak saja membuat perubahan kurva servikal menjadi lebih datar, juga dapat memberikan beban berlebih pada otot, ligamen, sendi, dan tulang pada leher di bagian posterior, serta otot punggung atas dan bahu, sebagai akumulasi pencetus nyeri leher mekanik. Tujuan: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk membuktikan bahwa program McKenzie Neck Exercise dan Forward Head Posture Exercise sama-sama efektif dalam menurunkan nyeri leher mekanik pada pengguna smartphone dan tidak ada perbedaan efektivitas antara kedua teknik tersebut. Metode: Penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimental pretest and posttest comparison group design. Sebanyak 22 orang subjek penelitian, berusia 22-28 tahun, mengalami nyeri leher mekanik nonspesifik kronik, dan tidak pernah mengalami spondylolisthesis, cedera, fraktur dan hernia nucleus pulposus pada area leher, direkrut untuk mengikuti penelitian ini. Subjek penelitian dibagi menjadi 2 Kelompok. Kelompok I diberikan program McKenzie Neck Exercise dan Kelompok II diberikan program Forward Head Posture Exercise dengan durasi latihan yang sama, yaitu 30 menit per hari selama 1 pekan. Alat ukur yang digunakan untuk mengevaluasi perubahan nyeri mekanik leher adalah Northwick Neck Pain Tool. Analisis statistik menggunakan uji Wilcoxon untuk membandingkan hasil prestest dan posttest tiap Kelompok, dan uji Mann-Whitney untuk membandingkan perubahan nyeri antara kedua Kelompok. Hasil: Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat penurunan nyeri leher yang signifikan (p<0,05) baik pada Kelompok I maupun Kelompok II (3,36±0,50 - 1,18±0,40 vs. 3,36±0,50 - 1,36±0,50). Hasil perbandingan penurunan nyeri menunjukkan bahwa tidak ada perbedaan yang signifikan (p 0,44) antara Kelompok I dan Kelompok II (2,18±0,40 vs. 2,00±0,63). Simpulan: Program McKenzie Neck Exercise dan Forward Head Posture Exercise efektif dalam menurunkan nyeri leher mekanik pada pengguna smartphone dengan efektivitas yang sama baiknya antara ke dua teknik tersebut. Kata Kunci: Nyeri leher mekanik, pengguna smartphone, McKenzie Neck Exercise dan Forward Head Posture Exercise.

Abstract

Osteoarthritis of the knee joint is a chronic degenerative joint disease, with slowly progressive runs, where the structure of joints have a pathological changes. Characterized by imbalances of regeneration and degeneration that causes pain, impaired joint mobility or limited range of motion (LGS), stiffness, instability and muscles weakness arround the joint. The purpose of this study was to compare functional ability level in the additional kinesiotaping for quadriceps setting exercise in patients with osteoarthritis of the knee joint. This research uses experimental methode with pre-test and post-test group design. Number of samples of the first group 9 patients were given quadriceps setting exercise with a duration of 3 sets, 10 repetitions, three times a week for 3 weeks, in second group were 9 patients given kinesiotaping combine with quadriceps setting with 3-days used and 2-day intervals. The results showed : (1) there is an increase functional ability test results in the treatment group I. Related t-test results show mean ± SB pre test (28.18 ± 2.84) and the mean ± SB post test (31.41 ± 3.31) with p = 0.000 (p <0.05). (2) there is increased functional ability test results in the treatment group II. Results related t-test showed mean ± SB pre test (26.48 ± 3.74) and (31.30 ± 3.33) with p = 0.000 (p <0.05). (3) there are significant differences in test results koos in the treatment group I and group II treatment. Comparison test results show mean ± SB group I (3.22 ± 1.65) and the mean ± SB group II (4.82 ± 1.12) with p = 0.003 (p> 0.05). It was concluded that the addition kinesiotaping the quadriceps setting exercise can improve functional ability of patients with osteoarthritis of the knee joint. There is a significant difference in functional enhancement between the quadriceps setting treatment and the addition of kinesiotaping to the quadriceps setting exercise. The addition of kinesiotaping to the quadriceps setting exercise is better than the quadricep setting exercise to improve functional ability in patients with knee osteoarthritis.

Abstract

ABTSRACT Introduction: Physical exercise as anticipate of hypertension along with nutrition and medicines. One of physical exercise that can be applicated here is relaxation techniques which is showed positive impact in decreased blood pressure. Objective: Determine the difference between PMR intervention with SSBM intervention to reduce blood pressure for grade I hypertension patients whose consumed anti-hypertension medicine in badung regency. Methods: Experimental method Pre and post-test control group design and used 24 subjects, divided in to 2 groups, in which the experimental group I (n=12) received progressive muscle relaxation (PMR) while the treatment group 2 (n=12) received slow stroke back massage (SSBM). Intervention is given 3 times a week for 4 weeks. This study was using simple random sampling. Blood pressure was measured by sphygmomanometer and stethoscope. Result: Independent Sample T-test showed there was significant difference between Group 1 and Group 2 which (p<0.05) for systolic and diastolic blood pressure. Conclusion: Progressive muscle relaxation intervention decrease blood pressure more than slow stroke back massage intervention in patients grade I hypertension whose consumed anti-hypertension medicine in Badung Regency.Keywords: progressive muscle relaxation, slow stroke back massage, grade I hypertension, blood pressure

Abstract

Pendahuluan: Penurunan kekuatan kontraksi otot paha merupakan komplikasi yang sering terjadi pada pasien post operasi rekontruksi cedera Anterior Cruciatum Ligament (ACL) yang dapat menimbulkan penurunan fungsi gerak bahkan sampai kepada kecacatan. Pemberian terapi latihan fungsional di air terbukti efektif meningkatkan kekuatan kontraksi otot paha yang sangat menentukan perbaikan range of motion dan fungsi sendi lutut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuktikan bahwa latihan fungsional di air lebih efektif dalam meningkatkan kekuatan kontraksi isometrik otot paha dibandingkan dengan latihan di darat (klinik fisioterapi rumah sakit). Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan eksperimental (the randomized pre-posttest control group design), melibatkan semua pasien post rekontruksi cedera ACL yang berjumlah 38 orang sebagai subjek penelitian. Ditentukan usia responden pada rentang 20-50 tahun, yang dibagi menjadi dua Kelompok perlakuan berbeda dengan random alokasi. Kelompok I diberikan latihan fungsional di darat (dan berperan sebagai Kelompok kontrol), sedangkan Kelompok II diberikan latihan fungsional di air. Frekuensi latihan 2 kali seminggu selama 6 minggu, selama 60 menit pada setiap sesi latihan. Kekuatan kontraksi isometrik otot paha di ukur menggunakan Spygmomanometer. Hasil: Data awal rerata kekuatan kontraksi isometrik otot paha pada Kelompok 1 adalah sebesar 117,37±7,14 dan setelah diberikan latihan fungsional di darat meningkat menjadi sebesar 133,42±12,47. Sedangkan pada Kelompok 2 didapatkan kekuatan kontraksi isometrik otot paha sebelum intervensi sebesar 121,32±6,83 dan setelah diberi latihan fungsional di air meningkat menjadi 140,79±14,55. Uji beda kekuatan kontraksi isometrik otot paha antara sebelum dan sesudah intervensi pada Kelompok 1 dan 2 menunjukan perbedaan yang bermakna, yaitu p = 0,000. Akan tetapi pada uji beda kekuatan kontraksi isometrik otot paha setelah intervensi antar Kelompok I dan II tidak ditemukan perbedaan yang signifikan secara uji statistic (nilai p = 0,158. Simpulan: Latihan fungsional di air maupun di darat dapat meningkatkkan kekuatan kontraksi isometrik otot paha yang signifikan. Akan tetapi tidak ditemukan perbedaan kekuatan kontraksi yang signifikan post intervensi antara Kelompok pasien post operasi rekonstruksi cedera ACL yang diberikan latihan fungsional di air maupun di darat. Abstract

Pendahuluan: Aktivitas motorik anak cerebral palsybiasanya mengalami keterlambatan activity daily livingyang dipengaruhi olehhead control, karena kepala berfungsi dalam melawan gravitasi dan sebagai inisiasi gerakan awal saat berjalan. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan hipotesis bahwa penambahan neck support pada head control exercise lebih baik dalam peningkatan kemampuan fungsional berjalan anak CP spastic diplegic. Materi & Metode: Penelitian merupakan studi eksperimental dengan rancangan pre test and post test control group design. Jumlah responden sebanyak 14 sampel yang dibagi menjadi 2 grup secara random, pada kelompok kontrol mendapat head control exercise, pada kelompok perlakuan mendapatneck support dan head control exercise. Fungsional berjalan yang di teliti dengan diukur dengan GMFM, perlakuan diberikan selama 8 minggu. Hasil Penelitian: Dari hasil penelitian terdapat peningkatan fungsional berjalan yang signifikan pada anak Kelompok kontrol yang mendapatkan intervensi head control exercise dengan nilai pre (17,31 ± 5,06) dan nilai post (18,30 ± 3,16) didapat nilai p=0,011. Terdapat peningkatan fungsional berjalan yang signifikan pada kelompok perlakuan yang mendapat intervensi neck supportdan head control exercise dengan nilai pre (15,53 ± 4,23) dan nilai post (24,59 ± 4,98) dengan didapat nilai p=0,001. Terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan pada peningkatan fungsional berjalan pada Kelompok kontrol yang mendapatkan head control exercise dan pada Kelompok perlakuan yang mendapat neck support dan head control exercise dengan nilai Kelompok kontrol ( 18,30 ± 4,96 ) dan nilai pada Kelompok perlakuan (24,59 ± 4,98) dan didapat nilai p=0,036. Simpulan: Penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa penambahan neck support pada head control exercise lebih baik dibandingkan hanya head control exercise dalam meningkatkan fungsional berjalan anak CPspastic diplegic.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe basic techniques of volleyball used to use muscular group in our body, especially the leg’s muscles that is facilitating the springboard movement. Explosive power is the ability of muscles to exert maximum force in a very quick time. Leg muscle explosive power is one of the essential components required in the sport of volleyball particular in the motion of smash, passing and blocking hat needs to be improved by training plyometrics. The training that were conducted during this research are the plyometric depth jump and plyometric box jump training using the principle of progressive load with 3 times frequencies a week within 6 weeks. The aim of this study is to compare the explosive power of training leg muscle. This study use a randomized experimental design with pre test and post test group design for six weeks with 3 times frequencies a week. The sample’s numbers is 32 participants that was divided into two groups. The first group was given training in plyometrics depth jump and the second group was given training plyometrics box jump. The explosive power of leg muscle is measured by using a jump DF which measured before and after training for each groups. The result of this research is shown before training in group I is 42.25 ± 3.92 cm and 51.81 ± 4.41cm after training (p <0.05). While, in group II the mean shows 40.25 ± 5.14 cm before training and 45.25 ± 5.07 cm after training (p <0.05). Training in group I can increase explosive power leg muscle than group II (p <0.05). Based on the result, it is concluded that the plyometric depth jump training is more better than the plyometric box jump training in increasing explosive power leg muscle for the students of volley ball extracurricular at SMK Negeri 1 Petang.Keywords: plyometrics depth jump training and box jump, explosive power leg muscle, sports volleyball.

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Penurunan fleksibilitas pada wanita dapat memicu terjadi nya penyakit, terutama keluhan muskuloskeletal yaitu cedera pada lumbal. Wanita dianjurkan untuk melakukan latihan-latihan sehingga dapat mencegah penurunan fleksibilitas. Tujuan: Mengetahui hubungan frekuensi senam yoga dengan fleksibilitas lumbal pada wanita. Metode: Penelitian observational analitik dengan pendekatan potong lintang yang menyertakan 45 wanita usia 20-45 tahun di Kota Denpasar. Sampel dipilah dengan teknik purposive sampling yang dilakukan pada empat studio senam yoga dan satu lapangan di Kota Denpasar selama bulan Juli – Agustus 2019. Data diperoleh dengan lembar pengumpulan data dan pengukuran fleksibilitas lumbal dengan sit and reach test. Data dianalisis dengan uji chi-square dan somers’d untuk mengetahui hubungan frekuensi senam yoga dengan fleksibilitas lumbal pada wanita. Hasil: Berdasarkan hasil uji, didapatkan nilai p=0,0001 (p<0,05) dan r=0,643(0,6? r ?0,8) memperlihatkan hubungan kuat dan bermakna antara frekuensi senam yoga dengan fleksibilitas lumbal pada wanita usia 20-45 tahun di Kota Denpasar. Kesimpulan: Terdapat hubungan signifikan antara frekuensi senam yoga dengan fleksibilitas lumbal ditandai dengan peningkatan nilai ukur fleksibilitas lumbal pada wanita dengan frekuensi senam yoga yang sangat rutin. Abstract

Introduction: Productive women who’s working in static potition can cause stiffness back muscle. The stiffness of back muscle can decrease lumbal flexibility. When lumbal flexibility was decreased, it can cause low back pain during activities. Yoga and pilates exercise are recommended program for increase lumbal flexibility.. Purpose: This study aims to prove the pilates exercise is more effective to increase lumbal flexibility comparing with yoga on adult woman. Method: Design of this study uses research methods experimental study pre and post test design. Total sampel of this research study are 30 adult women at Banjar Kelod Ungasan, whose age are 30-45 years old and have 0-20 cm flexibility score. The sampel devided into two groups which the group I (n=15) was given pilates exercise ,while group II (n=15) was given yoga twice a week in 6weeks. This research was using sit and reach test as measured flexibility. Result: Based on Paired Sample t-Test statistical analysis the results of this study research shown that the difference in the mean of lumbal flexibility in group I was obtained 21.34±3.13cm with p<0.001 , while the mean of lumbal flexibility in group II was obtained 19.11±2.39cm with p<0.001. The difference lumbal flexibility in group I and group II was obtained 5.36±1.48cm with p<0.001. Conclusion: The conclusion that the pilates exercise was more effective to increase lumbal flexibility comparing with yoga on adult woman.
