Abstract

Metamorfosis dan penempelan adalah langkah penting dalam siklus hidup dari banyak invertebrata laut. Metamorfosis dan penempelan menyertai perubahan tahap-tahap morfologi dan cara hidup larva planula. Larva planula memulai kehidupan bentik menjadi bentuk dewasa dengan mendeteksi lingkungan untuk memilih tempat yang tepat untuk hidup menetap dan memulai proses metamorphosis dan penempelan. Lithophyllum sp merupakan Alga koralin yang diketahui sebagai pemicu metamorfosis alami. Beberapa senyawa yang berasal dari alga koralin diduga mampu menginduksi proses metamorfosis dan penempelan planula dengan menyerupai isyarat lingkungan di alam Hasil menunjukkan mampu menginduksi metamorfosis dan penempelan planula yang berasal dari slick (kumpulan gamet di permukaan laut setelah peristiwa spawning karang multi spesifik). Slick dikoleksi dari Pulau Sambangan, Kepulauan Karimunjawa saat spawning masal terjadi pada bulan Maret. Seluruh dosis yang dicobakan mampu menginduksi proses metamorfosis dan penempelan planula larva setelah planula diinkubasi dalam media yang telah diberi ekstrak Lithophyllum sp. Hasil ini memberi peluang dilakukannya pembenihan larva planulae secara masal untuk keperluan restorasi terumbu karang dan budidaya karang.   Kata Kunci : Metamorfosis, penempelan, Lithophyllum sp, planulae

Abstract

Karang keras (Scleractinia) ditemukan di Pulau Panjang mulai dari dataran terumbu karang yang dangkal hingga kedalaman 7m. Terumbu karang berkembang baik di bagian pulau yang melawan angin ‘leeward dibanding  di bagian yang searah angin ‘windward’ yang ditandai dengan banyaknya mikroatol Porites. Sebaran spasial genera karang keras di P. Panjang menunjukkan perbedaan baik dari segi  sisi pulau maupun kedalaman. Karang keras Porites, Pocillopora dan Stylopora banyak ditemukan di dataran terumbu sisi bawah angin (leeward) sedangkan di kedalaman 7m pada sisi pulau yang sama umumnya tersusun dari  Lobophyllia dan Pectinia. Dataran terumbu sisi atas angin (windward) tersusun atas genera Cypastrea, Galaxea dan Platygyra sedangkan di kedalaman 7m terdapat genera karang Pavona, Hydnophora, Merulina, Galaxea dan Favites. Perbedaan sebaran spasial genera karang keras (Scleractinia) di Pulau Panjang, Jawa Tengah tampaknya berhubungan dengan tekanan fisik (seperti gelombang). Abstract

Blue Swimming Crab (P. pelagicus, Linnaeus, 1758) is the main fisheries product from Betahwalang peoples. Fishing activity of Blue Swimming Crab by the fisherman almost every day in Betahwalang waters. Distribution and body size data of Blue Swimming Crab can be used for sustain management reference. The purpose of this study was to determine distribution pattern and body size of Blue Swimming Crab, started from July to November 2018 in Betahwalang waters, Demak. The data analyze consist of sex ratio, carapace width distribution and relationship between carapace width and body weight. 11790 samples Blue Swimming crab from Betahwalang waters consist of 7070 female crabs and 4720 male crabs. The result showed that sex-ratio between male and female crabs are balanced (1.0:1.37), with the most female crabs found at July and August. Body size distribution of male and female crabs are dominated in class 103-111 mm carapace width. Male and female crabs have a positive allometric on growth parameters, that means growth of the body weight is faster than carapace width. The result showed that Blue Swimming Crab in Betahwalang waters are support for sustainable fisheries.

Abstract

Seagrass bed are one of the ecosistems in shallow waters that can support the biodiversity of marine organisms. Megabenthos as benthic organisms that usually live in association in seagrass beds, have an important role in the food web in their habitat. This study aims to analyse the diversity of megabenthos associated with their habitat characteristics in seagrass waters in Bandengan, Teluk Awur and Panjang Island Jepara. This research was conducted using a descriptive field method, and megabenthos data collecting was carried out using the line transect method. Thr result showed that 158 individuals from 8 species of megabenthos were found (from 2 phyla: Echinodermata and Molluska) from three observation locations. Condition factors that influence the abundance and diversity of megabenthos are the substrat type and seagrass cover.   Padang lamun sebagai salah satu ekosistem di perairan laut dangkal dapat menopang keanekaragaman hayati organisme laut. Megabentos yang termasuk dalam organisme bentik merupakan organisme yang biasa hidup berasosiasi di padang lamun, mempunyai peranan penting dalam jaring-jaring makanan di habitatnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisa keanekaragaman megabentos dikaitkan dengan karakteristik habitatnya di perairan padang lamun di Bandengan, Teluk Awur dan Pulau Panjang Jepara. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metoda deskriptif lapangan, dan pengambilan data megabentos dilakukan dengan metoda line transek. Hasil pengamatan menunjukkan ditemukan 158 individu dari 8 spesies  megabentos (dari 2 filum: Echinodermata dan Molluska) dari ketiga lokasi pengamatan.  Faktor kondisi yang berpengaruh terhadap kelimpahan dan keanekaragaman megabentos adalah jenis substrat dasar dan tutupan lamun.

Abstract

Antibacterial compounds from sponge association fungi are one of the alternatives to search for new antibiotics against resistant bacteria. This study aims to explore the secondary metabolites potential from sponge association fungi as MDR pathogens antibacterial and to cultivate these fungi using a variety of cultivation media. TE-BO-09.1. Isolate can inhibit 3 bacteria, K. pneumoniae, B subtilis, and S. aureus, but is not able to inhibit E. coli and P. aeruginosa. Cultivation using standard media of Malt Extract Agar (MEA) and media modified from fish broth (M1, M2) and cassava infusion (M3, M4) produce secondary metabolites with varying quantities and antimicrobial activity. The inhibition zone of the produced extract with 500 μg/disc concentration ranged from 7.14 to 10.32 mm. The strongest potential was shown by ethyl acetate extract from isolates cultured with M2 (9 days cultivation), of which is able to produce 10.32 mm inhibition zones against S. aureus and methanol extracts from isolates cultured with M4 (6 days cultivation), and able to produce 10.05 mm inhibition zones against K. pneumoniae. In conclusion, the fungus  Aspergillus flavus can be culture using fish broth added glucose and cassava infusion water added peptone media to potentially produce antibacterial compounds against MDR pathogens.

Abstract

Strong market demand and uncontrolled exploitation and/or the inadequate management of fisheries have caused many stocks of sea cucumbers to be overexploited. One suggested effort to overcome this problem is sea ranching. Stocking density is the most important consideration in sea cucumber rearing; therefore, this present work is aimed at elucidating the best stocking density for sea ranching of Holothuria atra. H. atra was taken from the Panjang Island, Jepara waters and reared in bottom cages in Teluk Awur waters, Jepara with a density of 30, 20, or 10 individuals per cage measuring 2 m × 2 m × 1.8 m (with bottom area of 4 m2). Stocking times of H. atra were at the initial time of cage installation, the second and the third months after installation. Bottom sediment characteristics (i.e., chlorophyll a, b, phaeophytin, and total carotene) of the sea cucumber habitat and water quality in the cages were measured monthly during the study. The results showed that growth of H. atra fluctuated; low stocking density yielded a higher weight gain than high stocking density did. The highest weight gain was present in the density of 10 individuals/cage in the second stocking month. The highest survival rate of H. atra was seen in the condition of 30 individuals/cage (93%) at the third stocking month, which means that these sea cucumbers were only reared for three months. The highest mortality occurred at a density of 20 individuals/cage with the survival rate being low (45%) at the first stocking time or in the fifth month of rearing. There was fission evidence among H. atra reared in the cages, resulting in smaller organisms. Among the water quality parameters, the concentration of chlorophyll a, b, phaeophytin, and carotene in the sediment fluctuated according to the time of sea cucumber rearing caused by their feeding and bioturbation. The study results suggested to stock H. atra at low density during the second stocking month to get higher growth.

determine the marketing strategy in increasing the total comprehensive income. This study aims to create the best architectural model using Backpropogation where this model can later be made to make predictions of total comprehensive income. The variable used in this study is the total comprehensive income statement data of PT. Bank Mandiri, Tbk (January - November 2016). Data sourced from the Financial Services Authority (www.ojk.go.id). From a series of trials conducted with 4 architectural models tested, namely 4-25-1; 4-50-1; 4-100-1 and 4-50-75-1, obtained the best architectural model 4-50-1 with Epoch training = 1977, Mean Square Error (MSE) of 0,000997867 with the correctness of testing accuracy reaching 80%.Keywords: Artificial Neural Network, Back-propagation, Comprehensive Income, Prediction, Economy, Architecture Prediksi total laba rugi komprehensif sangatlah penting untuk memprediksi dimana posisi angka total laba rugi komprehensif pada suatu bank.  Informasi tersebut berguna bagi masayarkat dalam menentukan arah investasi masyarakat ke depan, begitu juga bagi pihak bank berguna untuk menentukan kebijakan strategi pemasaran dalam meninggkatkan total laba komprehensif tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuat model arsitektur terbaik dengan menggunakan Backpropogation dimana model ini nantinya dapat dilakukan untuk membuat prediksi terhadap total laba rugi komprehensif. Variabel yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah data total laba rugi komprehensif PT. Bank Mandiri,Tbk (Januari – November 2016). Data bersumber dari Otoritas Jasa Keuangan (www.ojk.go.id). Dari serangkaian uji coba yang dilakukan dengan 4 model arsitektur yang diuji yakni 4-25-1; 4-50-1; 4-100-1 dan 4-50-75-1, diperoleh model arsitektur terbaik 4-50-1 dengan Epoch training = 1977, Mean Square Error (MSE) sebesar 0,000997867 dengan tingkat akurasi pengujian mencapai kebenaran 80%. Kata kunci: Jaringan saraf tiruan, Back-propagation, Laba Rugi Komprehensif, Prediksi, Ekonomi, Arsitektur

Abstract

Sistem pakar adalah sistem berbasis komputer yang menggunakan knowledge, fakta dan penalaran untuk memecahkan masalah yang hanya dapat dipecahkan oleh seorang pakar. Virus adalah salah satu penyakit yang rentan dialamin anak-anak karena sistem kekebalan pada tubuh belum terbangun secara sempurna. Sebahagian besar orangtua tidak mengenali gejala penyakit pada tubuh anak yang timbul diakibatkan infeksi virus. Sistem pakar dibuat untuk mendiagnosa gejala awal penyakit akibat virus anak yang disebabkan oleh infeksi virus. Proses diagnosa dimulai dengan cara user menjawab pertanyaan-pertanyaan berupa gejala yang diderita oleh pengguna. Alasan penelitian ini dilakukan karena keterbatasan dokter dan banyaknya pasien anak-anak yang butuh penanganan dini terhadapat gejala penyakit awal yang disebabkan oleh virus. Alat bantu berupa sistem pakar ini merupakan solusi dimana sistem mampu bertindak sebagaimana layaknya seorang pakar. Sistem pakar ini berbasis mobile sehingga dapat diakses kapanpun dan di manapun oleh pengguna selama mereka terhubung dengan internet dan handphone. Hasil dari penelitian dapat memberikan pertolongan kepada orangtua terhadat anak-anaknya untuk mendiagnosis gejala awal yang dialamin oleh penderita sebelum ditanganin oleh ahlinya, sehingga orang tua dapat melakukan tindakan yang tepat.

Abstract

Copper nanoparticles (CuNPs) is one of metal nanoparticles, which have many benefits especially in medicinal science. The aim of this research is to determine CuNPs synthesis optimum condition using melinjo seed extract as a bioreductor. In this work, copper (II) sulphate pentahydrate is used as a precursor. Melinjo seed extract was prepared at 600C using aquadest as a solvent. Two stabilizers were used i.e. β-cyclodextrin (BCD) and citric acid. The result showed that the optimum ratio condition of CuNPs synthesis is extract: CuSO4 1 mM: β-cyclodextrin 10 mg/mL = 1:1:1 (v/v/v). The CuNPs were synthesized by reflux method at 900C for 4 hours. It was observed that the addition of sonication process for 2 hours affected the stabilization of CuNPs. The average size of particles is 364,1 nm in diameter and 0,296 in polydispersity index.

Abstract

There are more and more multinational enterprises growing in Indonesia that makes foreign employees are increasing every year. Thus, it is important for local workers to understand the leadership style of expatriates from the companies’ leaders and managers. The purpose of this research is to see the effect of transformational leadership style on job satisfaction conducted at PT Musim Mas, Medan. This research uses quantitative method with simple random sampling of 36 employees working in the company. The test results show that transformational leadership style has a positive significant effect on job satisfaction at PT Musim Mas, Medan as much as 69.5%. Keywords: Transformational Leadership; Job Satisfaction; International Business
