Abstract

The aim of this research evaluate the Closing Rib production process in aerospace company, trough identify the cause of product defect and find feasible solution to reduce defectedproduct. Closing Rib is a constituent component of Airbus A320 aircraft wing. Based on 2019 production data, still an average percentage of defects more than the average defect determined by the company at 1%. This study uses the Six Sigma method with concept of DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) in an effort to improve quality. The results of the analysis at define stage show Hole Oversized is the highest type of defect. At the measure stage, the production process stability is measured with an average proportion of defective products of 0.0818 and has one data out of control. In measuring process, the capability value is 3,6356 sigma. At analyzing the causes carried out with the FTA approach obtained 6 basic events including uniform matrix tools, poor tool storage, lack of tool identification tools, reamer usage over time, inappropriate maintenance of reamer and machine operation sequence. And in the improve stage, there are some improvement efforts such as; simplifying matrix tools, designing tool storage, creating maintenance tables for tools, and adding SOPs.

Abstract

The world of the manufacturing industry continues to develop and one of the technologies that support the manufacturing industry in the era of the industrial revolution 4.0 is 3D printingtechnology. It is very important to know the mechanical properties of 3D printing materials, one of which is tensile strength. Low tensile strength causes the product to experience mechanical failure such as yielding and fracture. High surface roughness causes the wear of components and affects their functional factors. To get a product of good quality so that the resulting product has high tensile strength and low surface roughness, research is needed to find the right and optimal combination of process parameters in the 3D printing process. Tensile strength and surface roughness will be observed. The material used is ABS filament. Layer height, infill pattern, and nozzle temperature are varied. Design of Experiment using the Taguchi method in the form of an orthogonal matrix L9(34) with three replications and using Grey Relational Analysis. From the results of the study, it was found that the most optimal combination of independent variables for the response variables of tensile strength and surface roughness simultaneously was layer height at level 1 with a value of 0.1 mm, infill patternat level 2 with line pattern and nozzle temperature at level 1 with a value of 230°C. The layer height parameter gives a contribution percentage of 49.55%, infill pattern 46.92%, and nozzle temperature 1.67%.

Abstract

Abstract - PT. XYZ is a state-owned company engaged in EPC (Engineering-ProcurementConstruction) projects. PT. XYZ is currently working on one of the MRMP post-harvest infrastructure development projects. The company's year-end evaluation showed that the MRMP project was delayed and resulted in the company being reprimanded. Project time optimization analysis is needed to know how much time an project can be completed. This research is conducted to find out the optimum time needed to complete a project using the PERT method and to find out the optimum cost of project acceleration using the Crashing method. The optimum time needed in the work of the MRMP project with the calculation of Crash Duration by dividing the volume of work by daily productivity after crashing using 4 hours of overtime is for 369 days. While the optimum cost obtained from the results of the calculation of costs in the normal duration of Rp 67,562,451,004, - accelerated by 4 hours of overtime to Rp67.643.894.081,- obtained a difference of Rp 81.443.657,-. Based on the difference in cost, the optimal cost is Rp67.643.894.081,-. Based on the acceleration of overtime of 4 hours there is an additional cost of Rp 71,298,325, - in the initial budget planning of the project. The cost incurred for labor wages on the accelerated schedule is greater than 49,03 % of labor wages on the duration of the plan.

Abstract

PT. Lintech Duta Pratama is one of the contracting companies in Indonesia that produces various kinds of needs in various industries. PT Lintech Duta Pratama uses finishing materials using paintings as a deterrent to corrosion. At the material level and surface roughness of the material to the optimal adhesion of paint on steel plate A in the painting process. This study uses an experimental design using the Taguchi method with 3 levels and 3 parameter factors, based on the Taguchi method 27 experiments were conducted. Then the paint adhesion test is done, the test is done using the cut test corss method. This study aims to determine the paint adhesion in accordance with company specifications and determine the process of painting for the paint adhesion of the test object with a combination of parameter variations tested. Must minimize painting defects. The results of the analysis showed that the dust level parameter had a significant effect on the response of paint adhesion, but the surface roughness and temperature parameters did not have a significant effect. As a combination of parameters that can optimize the paint adhesion response are dust level with level 1, temperature with 26 ° C, and surface roughness with 40 µm.

Abstract

Laser cutting machine is able to cutting hard material and having complicated patterns. In the cutting process in the laser cutting machine has several parameters, they are the laser beam focus point, cutting gas pressure and cutting speed. These parameters can cause cutting defects. Starting from the roughness surface until the product is not cut. So we need an optimization process through research methods. The optimization method in this research use the L9(34) orthogonal matrix with 3 levels on each parameter of taguchi and neural network prediction. From the taguchi optimization process, it produces an optimal parameter combination for the surface roughness response at the laser beam focus point -14 mm, gas cutting pressure 17 bar and cutting speed 0.4 m / min. And for the response of the cutting rate at the laser beam focus point -17 mm, gas pressure cutting 20 bar and cutting speed 0.6 m / min. While the optimal parameter settings using a neural network, for the response of surface roughness at the laser beam focus point -14 mm, gas pressure cutting 20 bar and cutting speed 0.2 m / minute. And for the response of the cutting rate at the laser beam focus point -20 mm, gas pressure cutting 17 bar and cutting speed 0.6 m / minute. In optimal parameter settings using the taguchi method, the laser beam focus point parameters have the greatest contribution, with a percentage of 46.5061% for the response of surface roughness. While cutting speed has a significant contribution in reducing the variation of the cutting rate response, with a contribution percentage of 66.0430%.

Abstract

Determining the combination of machining parameters is very important. The right machining parameters can produce optimal machining performance. EDM sinking is used to produce automotive components, aerospace, molds, and dies. AISI P20 is material that is widely used by manufacturing industry for dies and mold because of its hardness and resistance to heat. Based on these reasons, optimization is carried out to get appropriate parameter combination for the EDM sinking process using AISI P20. Process variables in this study are type of electrode, gap voltage, on time, and off time which aims to produce optimal response. Response variables observed were material removal rate, surface roughness, and electrode wear rate. Based on Taguchi method, matrix orthogonal L18 (21 × 73) was chosen for design of experiment. Taguchi method and Grey Relational Analysis used to optimize multiple responses simultaneously. Parameter optimum condition could be obtained by using graphite and setting values of gap voltage 50 volt, on time 250 ?s, off time 40 ?s. Percentage contribution of electrode type is 39,0733% whereas off time give contribution 32,4311%, on time 6,4574% and gap voltage 4,3590%.

Abstract

The material of the workpiece is one of the non-electrical parameters that affect the performance of EDM Sinking. SKS-3 steel is a steel with a high carbon class and in its application this material is commonly used for products for making bending die, sizing and stamping tools for medium run, and cutting blades. In this study using the response surface method with 15 run orders and 3 replications by applying Box-Behnken Design for research experiment design and ANOVA to analyze data. Based on the results of the analysis, it was found that the optimal combination of parameters was Pulse current 7.29293 A, Pulse on time 5.34343 (?s), and Pulse off time 3 (?s). To produce optimal dies products, the factors studied are the influence of process variables such as pulse current, on time, and off time on the material removal rate and surface roughness in the machining process using EDM Sinking and to determine the right combination variable settings of process parameters such as pulse current, on time, and off time in order to produce products with optimal material removal rate and surface roughness in the process EDM Sinking

Abstract

A metal foundry company is producing e-clip. Based on 2021 data, e-clip products have 13 types of defects. Miss run being one of these defects which are included in the category that cannot be repaired with a percentage of 15.16%. This study aims to determine the factors that cause defects in e-clip products. The method used is Six sigma DMAIC. The measuring stage obtained 4.1 sigmas from the DPMO calculation. In the analysis stage using FTA obtained 7 factors, namely the operator is inconsistent during the pouring process, the inoculation process is less precise, the tapping temperature check is not carried out regularly, transfer speed from tapping to moulding is too long, the content water in the molding is too much, the ladle rinsing temperature is not high, the molding line does not stop when the operator is doing the pouring process.

Abstract

PT. Aneka Adhilogam Karya is a company engaged in the metal casting sector which has superior products, Giboult Joint. In the production process, 9.84% defects were found. With the percentage of defects that have exceeded company standards, it can result in losses for the company both in terms of time, effort, and cost. This study aims to determine the percentage of the number of defects in the product as well as the factors that cause defects in the Giboult joint product and to plan the proposed improvement using the Statistical Quality Control method. Statistical Quality Control is the use of statistical methods to identify potential failures that arise by minimizing the risk of product defects, so that the resulting product can meet the quality standards of consumers by means of a statistical approach. Quality control tools used are check sheets, histograms, Pareto diagrams, control charts (P-Charts), and fishbone diagrams. The results obtained using this method are that there is an average product damage of 9.84%. and the average product damage is between the upper limit of 18% and the lower limit of 16.8% with the factors causing defects are human, material, method, and environmental factors. Proposed improvements that can be made by the company are by giving directions and warnings to workers, enriching more than 1 time, giving water according to the standard and providing air channels / holes in the mold, then by increasing air vents to facilitate air circulation.

Abstract

TRUMPF TrumaBend V85S CNC Bending Machine can be used to get good bending results. But in every bending process there are several problems encountered, one of which is springback. Springback can be influenced by several parameters such as material thickness, compressive force, and bending angle, and the radius. Springback can be avoided by examining which parameters have the greatest influence. One way to improve the quality of bending products from springback is by parameter optimization. Parameter optimization is a technique used in the manufacturing process to produce the best products. Optimization of compressive force, angle, and radius parameters is done to optimize the value that can have a major effect on springback and which parameters are most influential. Design experiments using Box-Behnken with ANOVA to analyze data and performed using the Response Surface method. The results showed that the radius parameter was the only one that affected the ST37 material springback. While the optimum parameter obtained a compressive force of 500 KN, an angle of 120°, and a radius of 3 mm with a springback result of 130,28°.
