Abstract

This study examined the competitiveness and survival strategies of Islamic Education (PAI) graduates from IAIN Langsa in the Aceh Timur region, including East Aceh Regency, Kota Langsa, and Aceh Tamiang. Higher education institutions, particularly Islamic Studies programs, are responsible for preparing graduates to meet the demands of an increasingly dynamic and globalized job market. This research aimed to explore the challenges faced by PAI alumni in adapting to globalization, digitalization, and evolving market expectations. Using a mixed-methods explanatory sequential design, quantitative data were collected via online surveys from 165 alumni graduating in 2021, 2022, and 2023. The survey measured indicators such as job waiting periods, relevance of employment to academic background, income levels, and workplace challenges. Qualitative data were subsequently obtained through in-depth interviews with 10 purposively selected alumni. Quantitative findings were analyzed using descriptive statistics, while qualitative data underwent thematic analysis, supported by method triangulation and a focus group discussion (FGD) with experts and alumni. Results indicated significant gaps in technical skills, including IT proficiency, foreign language competency, and public speaking. While most alumni pursued careers in education, others entered diverse fields, employing adaptive survival strategies influenced by socio-cultural expectations in Aceh. These findings contribute to curriculum refinement and institutional strategies to enhance graduate competitiveness and employability.

Abstract

Purpose -This study aims to address the challenges of teaching astronomy in higher education, particularly in institutions with limited observational infrastructure and urban light pollution. The purpose of this research is to investigate the effectiveness of Stellarium, a digital planetarium application, in enhancing students' conceptual understanding of astronomy concepts in Physics Education.Methodology - A quasi-experimental research design was employed, utilizing a pretest-posttest control group format. The sample consisted of 30 undergraduate students enrolled in the astronomy course, who were purposively selected and divided into an experimental group and a control group. The research procedure involved the development of Stellarium-integrated instructional materials, the implementation of teaching interventions, and the administration of pretests and post-tests to assess conceptual understanding. Additional instruments included a questionnaire to capture students' perceptions and documentation of classroom activities. Data were analyzed using paired sample t-tests, independent sample tests, and descriptive statistics.Findings - The results of the initial and final trials showed a significant increase in the experimental group's understanding of astronomical concepts. In contrast, the control group showed minimal improvement. The findings revealed a significant improvement in the experimental group's test scores, with an average gain of 16.6 points (p < 0.05). Students also expressed highly positive perceptions of Stellarium in terms of visual appeal, ease of use, learning motivation, and comprehension of celestial motion. These results suggest that Stellarium is an effective pedagogical tool for enhancing conceptual understanding of astronomy and fostering student engagement.Contribution- The study contributes to the growing body of research on simulation-based learning and offers practical insights into integrating digital technologies in science education, particularly in resource-constrained institutions. It also offers a model for adapting global digital tools to local educational contexts, thereby supporting curriculum innovation in Indonesian higher education.

Abstract

Permasalahan limbah plastik yang semakin meningkat, terutama di lingkungan sekolah, memerlukan solusi kreatif dan edukatif untuk mengatasinya. Program Eco Kreatif bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kesadaran lingkungan siswa melalui kegiatan daur ulang botol plastik menjadi pot bunga gantung. Kegiatan ini menggunakan metode project-based learning, di mana siswa SDN 104233 Bandar Labuhan mengikuti tahapan sosialisasi, demonstrasi, dan praktik langsung dalam mendesain serta menghias pot bunga dari botol plastik bekas. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa lebih dari 85% siswa memahami pentingnya daur ulang dan memiliki keterampilan dalam mengolah sampah plastik menjadi produk yang bernilai guna. Selain itu, program ini membantu menumbuhkan kreativitas siswa dan meningkatkan kepedulian mereka terhadap lingkungan. Dengan demikian, program Eco Kreatif tidak hanya berkontribusi dalam pengurangan limbah plastik tetapi juga menjadi media edukasi lingkungan yang efektif sejak usia dini.

Abstract

This study aims to elucidate the development of students mental health and the reinforcement of Islamic values through the Islamic character building (BIKALAM) program at SMP Fatma Kenanga Bengkulu. Employing a qualitative descriptive methodology, data were collected via observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that the planning phase for mental health development and the strengthening of Islamic values among students encompasses four stages: defining objectivies, formulating activities, leveraging resources, and maintaining consistent execution. The implemention phase comprises two primary components: Mental Health Development: this includes fostering peace of mind and heart (through tawakkal and patience), self-control and emotional regulation (via taqwa and ihsan), discipline and orderliness (through worship and prayer), as well as optimism and hope (via husnuzan and acceptance of divine decree). Reinforcement of Islamic values: this involves habituating religious behavior among students, modeling exemplary conduct by teachers, adopting an empathetic approach t0wards students, and fostering synergy among teachers and school elements. The evaluation of mental health development and the reinforcement of Islamic values is conducted through monitoring progress, measuring outcomes, and identifying obstacles to program success.

Abstract

Spiritual-based character education is increasingly important in addressing the moral challenges of the younger generation in the era of globalization. This study aims to analyze the management of a spiritual-based guidance and counseling (BK) program at SMA Negeri 1 Way Khilau, Pesawaran Regency. The study used a descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniques through interviews, observation, documentation, and questionnaires. Research informants included the principal, BK teachers, religious teachers, and students. The results showed that the BK program management was carried out through four main stages: planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating. This program integrated counseling services with spiritual habits such as Dhuha prayer, morning sermons, and Islamic mentoring. Program evaluation indicated increased discipline, student involvement in religious activities, and strengthening of religious character. The program's success was supported by a religious school culture and the principal's leadership, although obstacles remained such as a limited number of BK teachers and low parental involvement. This study confirms that the integration of spiritual values in BK services is an effective strategy for shaping student character and can serve as a model of good practice for other schools.

Abstract

Food security is a condition of food fulfillment for households that includes availability, access, and utilization. This study aims to analyze the influence of household consumption patterns on the level of food security in Riangbao Village, Lembata Regency, East Nusa Tenggara. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach with the support of quantitative analysis through multiple linear regression. The sample consisted of 59 households selected using the slovin formula and purposive sampling technique. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation (primary data), and supported by secondary data from BPS and the village. The results of the research on 59 households found that food security and food insecurity were found in small households (1-3 people), while food insufficiency and food insecurity were found in medium households (4-5 people) and large households (>6 people). The average level of energy consumption was highest in small, medium and large households. The consumption pattern of Riangbao Village community is still dominated by carbohydrate sources with limited food diversity. The regression results show that the variable expenditure on rice, fish, vegetables, fruit and oil has a significant effect on household food security. The variables of income and number of family members did not show a significant effect. This finding indicates that food security is determined more by the composition of food consumption than by economic factors.

Abstract

Regulasi lembaga keuangan memiliki peran yang signifikan dalam menjaga stabilitas sistem keuangan dan melindungi kepentingan masyarakat. Penelitian ini menganalisis efektivitas regulasi lembaga keuangan di Indonesia dengan mempertimbangkan berbagai indikator, seperti stabilitas sistem keuangan, perlindungan konsumen, inklusi keuangan, serta pencegahan kejahatan keuangan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi pustaka (library research). Sumber data utama yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berasal dari berbagai literatur yang relevan, termasuk jurnal ilmiah, buku, regulasi pemerintah, serta laporan dari lembaga keuangan seperti Bank Indonesia (BI) dan Otoritas Jasa Keuangan (OJK). Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa regulasi yang diterapkan oleh Otoritas Jasa Keuangan (OJK) dan Bank Indonesia (BI) telah berkontribusi terhadap stabilitas sistem keuangan melalui kebijakan seperti persyaratan modal minimum dan stress test pada perbankan. Namun, tantangan masih ditemukan dalam sektor keuangan non-bank, khususnya terkait kasus gagal bayar dan penipuan investasi.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Inclusive education at the Early Childhood Education (ECE) level is a strategic effort to create a fair and supportive learning environment for all children, including those with special needs. However, its implementation still faces various challenges. This study aims to examine how inclusive education is implemented in practice, as well as the obstacles and expectations of educators, particularly in ECE settings. This qualitative descriptive research was conducted in several inclusive ECE institutions in Banda Aceh, involving four teachers with experience teaching children with special needs. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews. The findings show that teachers’ understanding of inclusive education is still limited, generally interpreted merely as placing children with special needs into regular classes without considering individual needs or adapting the curriculum. Implementation has not been effective, with teaching methods tending to be uniform and less accommodating to children’s diversity. The main challenges include limited facilities, low teacher qualifications in inclusive education, lack of parental involvement, and behavioral issues among children with special needs. Nevertheless, teachers have high hopes for improving inclusive education practices, especially through continuous training, support from specialists, and strong collaboration among teachers, parents, and other relevant stakeholders. ABSTRAK Pendidikan inklusif pada jenjang Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini (PAUD) merupakan upaya strategis untuk menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang adil dan mendukung bagi semua anak, termasuk anak berkebutuhan khusus. Namun, pelaksanaannya masih menghadapi berbagai tantangan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana implementasi pendidikan inklusif di lapangan, serta hambatan dan harapan yang muncul dari para pendidik, khususnya di lingkungan PAUD. Penelitian deskriptif kualitatif ini dilakukan di beberapa lembaga PAUD inklusif di Kota Banda Aceh, dengan melibatkan empat guru yang berpengalaman mengajar anak berkebutuhan khusus. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara semi-terstruktur. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemahaman guru terhadap pendidikan inklusif masih terbatas, yang umumnya dimaknai sebagai sekadar menempatkan anak berkebutuhan khusus ke dalam kelas reguler tanpa memperhatikan kebutuhan individual atau adaptasi kurikulum. Implementasi belum berjalan efektif, dengan metode pembelajaran yang cenderung seragam dan kurang mengakomodasi keberagaman anak. Tantangan utama meliputi keterbatasan sarana, rendahnya kualifikasi guru dalam pendidikan inklusif, kurangnya keterlibatan orang tua, serta permasalahan perilaku pada anak berkebutuhan khusus. Meskipun demikian, para guru memiliki harapan besar terhadap peningkatan praktik pendidikan inklusif, terutama melalui pelatihan berkelanjutan, dukungan tenaga ahli, dan kolaborasi yang kuat antara guru, orang tua, dan pihak terkait lainnya.

Abstract

Character education has been subjected to a top-down approach with a student center system. The values embedded completely come from the teachers or the school. This study explored how the participatory learning model could effectively instill character values in students. Students are given space to be involved and subjected to a series of character education processes. It aims to describe how students’ and teachers’ participation could compile the points of character values, how students apply the learning materials designed together, and how they are involved in providing evaluations for themselves and their friends. The qualitative descriptive method was employed in the current study. It aimed to observe and listen to the stories of students and teachers regarding their involvement in the process of curriculum development. Documentation on the learning modules was made for data collection. The data were taken by considering the representation of students and teachers. They engaged in every pulse of the learning process, which led to cognitive and affective development. The research proposed a cooperative investigation alongside other educational institutions, factoring in both the type and affiliation of these schools, aiming to produce more diverse and well-rounded outcomes.

Abstract

This paper will discuss about the strategy of developing early childhood learning model. This discourse is very important to be studied in view of the development of dynamic times and curricula.
