Abstract

Indonesia has more than 90% of the world's sago area, 85% of which is in Papua Province and Western Indonesia, including Meranti Islands Regency and Riau Province. According to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Indonesia, the western region of Indonesia is the largest producer of sago production in Indonesia. The purpose of this study was to determine the physicochemical properties of sago starch of the rondo variety and the physicochemical properties of sago starch of the meranti variety. This research design used statistical analysis using a normality test then a uniformity test and continued with a repeated t test 6 times on sago flour from the Papua Rondo cultivar and the meranti cultivar from Riau. The parameters measured in this study were swelling and solubility, moisture content and carbohydrate content. The results of the study concluded that there were differences between the two types of arrowroot starch. The water content of sago starch (8.25%) of the rondo variety from Papua had a real influence on the water content of sago starch (13.5%) of the meranti variety of Riau, but did not have a real influence on its swelling capacity, solubility and carbohydrate content. An innovative product that is in accordance with the characteristics of sago flour from the rondo variety from Papua and the meranti variety from Riau is a biscuit.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penyakit menular masih menjadi masalah kesehatan, terkait morbiditas dan mortalitas akibat penyakit menular. Penyakit menular langsung, penyakit yang dapat dicegah dengan Imnunisasi (PD3I), dan penyakit tular vektor masih menjadi masalah di Kota Depok. Penelitian ini untuk mengidentifikasi, menetapkan prioritas, dan menemukan penyebab masalah penyakit menular di Kota Depok, menggunakan metode studi kuantitatif dan kualitatif, mengobservasi profil kesehatan dan data terkait lainnya dari tahun 2022-2023. Penentuan prioritas masalah dengan metode PAHO-Adapted-Hanlon melalui wawancara dengan 19 orang ahli di Dinas Kesehatan Kota Depok dan Puskesmas. Analisis penyebab masalah dilakukan dengan metode Fish Bone. Incidence rate Tuberculosis tahun 2022, 212/100.000 penduduk. CFR Tuberculosis 6,5/100.000 penduduk. Insiden pneumonia 3.936 kasus. Insiden HIV 327 (0,01%). Insiden Diare 18.062 kasus.Insiden kusta pada anak 7 kasus (9%). Insiden Difteri 7 kasus, 12 kasus pertusis, Insiden campak 199 kasus. Inciden Rate DBD 39/100.000 penduduk. Kasus kronis filariasis sebanyak 8 kasus. Tuberkulosis merupakan prioritas utama penyakit menular di Kota Depok dengan skor 44,57, DBD dengan skor 32,28 dan HIV dengan skor 31,09. Tingginya insiden Tuberkulosis, dikarenakan rendahnya pengobatan lengkap, kesembuhan serta banyaknya kasus Tuberculosis pada anak. Pencegahan penularan Tuberculosis dengan cara pemberian therapy pencegahan Tuberculosis, pentingnya pengobatan tuntas, melakukan advokasi, peningkatan pengetahuan masyarakat, dan investigasi kontak Tuberculosis. Abstract Communicable diseases remain a significant health issue in Depok City, contributing to high morbidity and mortality rates. Directly transmitted diseases, Vaccine-Preventable Diseases (PD3I), and vector-borne diseases are still prevalent. This study identifies and prioritizes communicable disease issues and their causes using both quantitative and qualitative methods, observed health profiles, and related data from 2022-2023. Issue prioritization was conducted using the PAHO-Adapted Hanlon method, involving interviews with 19 experts from the Depok City Health Office and Public Health Centers, while the Fish Bone method analyzed the causes. In 2022, the tuberculosis incidence rate was 212 per 100,000 population, with a case fatality rate of 6.5 per 100,000. Pneumonia incidence was 3,936 cases, HIV 327 cases (0.01%), diarrhea 18,062 cases, leprosy in children 7 cases (9%), diphtheria 7 cases, pertussis 12 cases, and measles 199 cases. Dengue fever incidence was 39 per 100,000, with 8 chronic filariasis cases. Tuberculosis was the top priority with a score of 44.57, followed by dengue fever (32.28) and HIV (31.09). The high tuberculosis incidence is linked to incomplete treatments, low recovery rates, and pediatric cases. Prevention involves complete treatment, preventive therapy, advocacy, community education, and contact investigations.

Abstract

The shelf life of yellow sweet potato cookies was determined based on the desirable quality, primarily characterized by acceptable crunchiness to consumers. This study employed the Accelerated Shelf Life Testing (ASLT) model using a critical moisture content approach. Estimating shelf life begins with an initial moisture content test (Mi) and then continues with determining the necessary moisture content (Mc) through a hedonic test on cookies stored without packaging at a room temperature of 30℃ and 75% relative humidity (RH) over a period of 0-7 hours. Determination of equilibrium moisture content (Me) was carried out by measuring the moisture content of cookies at RH 30-83% which was conditioned using a saturated salt solution of MgCl2, NaNO2, NaCl, and KCI. The relationship between water activity (aw) and equilibrium moisture content was described in the Guggenheim-Anderson-de Boer (GAB), Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET), and Henderson isotherm sorption curve models. These models were tested for accuracy using the Mean Relative Determination (MRD) formula. The Mean Relative Determination (MRD) formula, with models having an MRD value of less than 5% being considered suitable for shelf life determination. The research results showed the findings revealed that the GAB model, with a type II sigmoid isothermic curve and an MRD value of 4.95%, was the most appropriate for predicting the shelf life of yellow sweet potato cookies. The best estimation of shelf life of yellow sweet potato cookies was at a temperature of 30℃ and 63-65 % RH using metalized plastic packaging with a shelf life of 10.6 months.

Abstract

Struktur perekonomian dunia saat ini telah memasuki Revolusi Industri Keempat atau disebut Industri 4.0. Suatu kondisi pada abad ke-21 dimana terjadi perubahan besar-besaran di berbagai bidang lewat perpaduan teknologi yang mengurangi sekat-sekat antara dunia fisik, digital dan biologi. Difusi gelombang teknologi digital telah merangsek masuk ke hampir semua aspek kehidupan dan ekonomi masyarakat dunia, seperti transportasi, kesehatan, pendidikan, ritel, hotel, dan bahkan keuangan. Industri keuangan Indonesia bahkan Aceh sekalipun sudah mulai menggunakan FinTech dalam dunia usaha. Ini ditandai dengan munculnya perusahaan rintisan baru (startup) yang tumbuh demikian cepat. FinTech memberi solusi struktural bagi pertumbuhan industri berbasis elektronik (e-commerce), mendorong pertumbuhan UMKM serta lahirnya wirausahawan baru, mendorong usaha kreatif serta memungkinkan pengembangan pasar terutama yang masih belum terlayani jasa keuangan dan perbankan konvensional. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perkembangan FinTech dalam meningkatkan UMKM di Aceh, bagaimanakah peranan dan ancaman FinTech di Aceh. Pengumpulan data dan informasi dilakukan melalui observasi dan wawancara mendalam dengan lembaga terkait dan pelaku usaha. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa FinTech di Aceh baru berkembang pada tahap awal, ditandai dengan telah munculnya perusahaan startup cari modal.id sebagai satu-satunya startup FinTech dengan sistem equity crowdfunding. FinTech dapat meningkatkan inklusi keuangan dikarenakan masih banyak UMKM mempunyai masalah pendanaan dan belum terlayani jasa keuangan dan perbankan konvensional (unbanked population), dengan adanya FinTech akses layanan keuangan dan permodalan menjadi lebih mudah dan lebih cepat. Salah satu strategi FinTech dengan cara sosialisasi dan edukasi yang lebih intens kepada UMKM baik yang dilakukan oleh pihak pemerintah maupun pihak perusahaan FinTech itu sendiri, supaya UMKM dapat menjadikan FinTech sebagai alternatif dalam mencari modal usaha.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to determine the effect of yeast concentration and fermentation duration on the physical characteristics (texture and colour) as well as the chemical properties (moisture content, protein content, fat content, and crude fibre content) of sorghum tempeh. Methodology: A factorial Completely Randomised Design (CRD) was employed, comprising Factor I: fermentation time of 42 hours (L1), 48 hours (L2), and 54 hours (L3); and Factor II: yeast concentrations of 1.5% (K1), 1.8% (K2), and 2.0% (K3), each with three replications. Data were analysed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) at a 5% significance level, followed by Duncan’s multiple range test for post hoc comparison. Results: In terms of physical texture parameters, hardness, springiness, and H value were not significantly affected (P > 0.05). However, significant differences (P < 0.05) were observed in colour values (L*, a*, b*, C), texture parameters (cohesiveness and chewiness), and chemical properties (moisture, protein, fat, and crude fibre contents), all influenced by both yeast concentration and fermentation duration. Findings: The optimal treatment was identified in sorghum tempeh fermented with 1.8% yeast for 48 hours, which enhanced cohesiveness, chewiness, fat content, moisture, protein levels, and crude fibre, while reducing the physical attributes of hardness, springiness, and H value. Novelty : This study reveals that both yeast concentration and fermentation time significantly influence the physical and chemical characteristics of sorghum tempeh. Originality: The research specifically investigates the impact of varying yeast concentrations and fermentation durations on the quality attributes of sorghum-based tempeh. Conclusion: The physical and chemical properties of sorghum tempeh are significantly affected by the concentration of yeast and the duration of fermentation. Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberdayakan perempuan di Desa Bunga Raya, Kabupaten Siak, melalui pengolahan ikan lele menjadi abon dalam upaya peningkatan keterampilan sebagai bentuk transformasi perpustakaan. Permasalahan yang ditemukan adalah rendahnya keterampilan perempuan dalam memanfaatkan potensi lokal untuk meningkatkan pendapatan keluarga. Solusi yang diberikan adalah pelatihan praktis tentang pengolahan ikan lele menjadi abon dengan varian rasa, serta pembinaan dalam manajemen usaha, pemasaran, dan pengelolaan keuangan. Selain itu, perpustakaan desa dimanfaatkan sebagai sumber informasi bagi peserta untuk mengakses pengetahuan kewirausahaan dan tren pasar. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan keterampilan peserta dalam mengolah abon lele yang higienis dan sesuai standar kualitas, serta meningkatnya pendapatan keluarga melalui penjualan produk abon lele. Keberlanjutan usaha juga terjaga melalui pembinaan berkelanjutan. Dengan memanfaatkan perpustakaan desa, kegiatan ini berkontribusi dalam pemberdayaan ekonomi masyarakat desa, meningkatkan kesejahteraan keluarga, dan mendukung program transformasi perpustakaan berbasis inklusi sosial.

Abstract

Penelitian fenomena  sarung di masyarakat Melayu Riau ini penting untuk memahami statusnya sebagai bagian dari material culture yang memberikan identitas terhadap komunitas. Tujuan dari kajian ini adalah untuk mengetahui sejarah penggunaannya, dan dinamika fungsinya dari zaman ke zaman, serta pemanfaatannya dalam masyarakat Nusantara yang heterogen, baik dari suku, budaya dan agama. Sebagai identitas Nusantara, sarung telah melalui proses tahapan-tahapan sejarah panjang, sehingga menjadi simbol pakaian pribumi, simbol santri, simbol ketaatan pada agama, pakaian keindahan dan kesederhanaan di wilayah Nusantara. Sejak masa kolonial, bersamaan dengan berlangsungnya proses akulturasi budaya Eropa di Nusantara, telah terjadi pergeseran nilai yang signifikan pada perspektif masyarakat dalam memandang makna dan fungsi sarung dalam kehidupan budaya dan agama, khususnya di Indonesia.Penelitian ini adalah penelitian antropologi yang memakai metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan snowballing. Teknik yang dipakai dalam  pengambilan data adalah teknik observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Dari data yang terkumpul dan telah dianalisis didapati bahwa, secara umum masyarakat Melayu Riau, terutama di wilayah urban tidak lagi menjadikan sarung sebagai pilihan utama dalam berpakaian, bahkan ada kesan bahwa fungsi sarung sangat terbatas sebagai kelengkapan utama dalam kegiatan ritual agama saja; misalnya salat atau kegiatan keagamaan lainnya. Urgensi dan fungsi sarung sebagai pakaian harian justru lebih terwakili dalam kultur pedesaan (rural). Keberadaan sarung di masyarakat Melayu mengalami pergeseran nilai sebagai material culture yang cenderung mengarah pada simbolisasi ritual ketimbang fungsional

Abstract

Women's leadership remains a subject of debate within the Islamic world, leading to various movements advocating for women's rights to be equal to men's. On the other hand, the perception that women prioritize emotions over logic has contributed to the notion that women are unsuitable for leadership roles. However, in reality, many women have proven themselves capable of leading institutions, organizations, and even nations. The Qur'an narrates a story of female leadership through the figure of Queen Balqis, who ruled the kingdom of Saba'. The purpose of this article is to explore the leadership prototype of Queen Balqis as depicted in Buya Hamka's Tafsir Al-Azhar. This research is a library-based study, with the primary data source being the Tafsir Al-Azhar, as well as secondary sources, including books and articles relevant to the research. The results of this study reveal that, from Hamka's perspective, Queen Balqis' leadership prototype embodies several key characteristics that are both relevant and valuable in the context of modern leadership. Analysis of Hamka's works, particularly Tafsir Al-Azhar, reveals that Queen Balqis possessed the following leadership qualities: first, wisdom and democracy. Hamka highlights how Queen Balqis demonstrated intelligence and wisdom in leading her people. Her decision to test the wisdom of Prophet Solomon by sending gifts reflects her ability to think democratically. Second, a diplomatic and peace-loving leader, Hamka, emphasizes that diplomacy is evident when a leader skillfully influences their followers to accept desired agreements and negotiations. Third, an intelligent and meticulous leader: Queen Balqis is portrayed as a smart, quick-thinking, cautious, and meticulous leader in making decisions. These three qualities in Queen Balqis make her a worthy role model for female leaders today.Abstrak: Kepemimpinan wanita masih menjadi suatu perdebatan dalam dunia Islam, akibatnya banyak timbul gerakan-gerakan yang menjunjung hak-hak wanita agar bisa disetarakan dengan laki-laki. Di sisi lain karakter wanita yang mengedepankan rasa dari pada logika membuat wanita seakan tidak layak menjadi pemimpin. Padahal kenyataannya banyak perempuan mampu menjadi pemimpin di suatu lembaga, organisasi bahkan negara. Di dalam Al-Qur’an terdapat kisah tentang kepemimpinan wanita yaitu kepemimpinan Ratu Balqis yang memimpin sebuah negeri bernama Saba’. Tujuan artikel ini untuk mengetahui prototipe leadership Ratu Balqis dalam Tafsir Al-Azhar karya Buya Hamka. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pustaka, data primer dalam penelitian ini adalah kitab Tafsir Al-Azhar, sedangkan data sekunder adalah buku-buku dan artikel yang relevan dengan penelitian. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa prototipe kepemimpinan Ratu Balqis dalam perspektif Hamka mencerminkan beberapa karakteristik utama yang relevan dan berharga dalam konteks kepemimpinan modern. Analisis terhadap karya-karya Hamka, terutama tafsir Al-Azhar, mengungkapkan bahwa Ratu Balqis memiliki sifat-sifat kepemimpinan berikut: pertama, kebijaksanaan dan demokratis: Hamka menyoroti bagaimana Ratu Balqis menunjukkan kecerdasan dan kebijaksanaan dalam memimpin rakyatnya. Keputusan Balqis untuk menguji kebijaksanaan Nabi Sulaiman dengan mengirimkan hadiah menunjukkan kemampuannya untuk berpikir demokratis. Kedua, pemimpin yang diplomatis dan cinta damai, diplomasi seorang pemimpin dapat dilihat ketika ia pandai mempengaruhi orang-orang yang dipimpin supaya bisa menerima suatu kesepakatan dan perundingan yang diinginkan. Ketiga, pemimpin yang cerdas dan teliti, Ratu Balqis adalah pemimpin yang cerdas, berpikir cepat, bersikap hati-hati dan teliti dalam memutuskan suatu perkara. Tiga kriteria tersebut ada dalam diri Ratu Balqis yang layak dijadikan role model oleh para pemimpin perempuan saat ini.

Abstract

This study examined the competitiveness and survival strategies of Islamic Education (PAI) graduates from IAIN Langsa in the Aceh Timur region, including East Aceh Regency, Kota Langsa, and Aceh Tamiang. Higher education institutions, particularly Islamic Studies programs, are responsible for preparing graduates to meet the demands of an increasingly dynamic and globalized job market. This research aimed to explore the challenges faced by PAI alumni in adapting to globalization, digitalization, and evolving market expectations. Using a mixed-methods explanatory sequential design, quantitative data were collected via online surveys from 165 alumni graduating in 2021, 2022, and 2023. The survey measured indicators such as job waiting periods, relevance of employment to academic background, income levels, and workplace challenges. Qualitative data were subsequently obtained through in-depth interviews with 10 purposively selected alumni. Quantitative findings were analyzed using descriptive statistics, while qualitative data underwent thematic analysis, supported by method triangulation and a focus group discussion (FGD) with experts and alumni. Results indicated significant gaps in technical skills, including IT proficiency, foreign language competency, and public speaking. While most alumni pursued careers in education, others entered diverse fields, employing adaptive survival strategies influenced by socio-cultural expectations in Aceh. These findings contribute to curriculum refinement and institutional strategies to enhance graduate competitiveness and employability.

Abstract

This study aims to elucidate the development of students mental health and the reinforcement of Islamic values through the Islamic character building (BIKALAM) program at SMP Fatma Kenanga Bengkulu. Employing a qualitative descriptive methodology, data were collected via observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that the planning phase for mental health development and the strengthening of Islamic values among students encompasses four stages: defining objectivies, formulating activities, leveraging resources, and maintaining consistent execution. The implemention phase comprises two primary components: Mental Health Development: this includes fostering peace of mind and heart (through tawakkal and patience), self-control and emotional regulation (via taqwa and ihsan), discipline and orderliness (through worship and prayer), as well as optimism and hope (via husnuzan and acceptance of divine decree). Reinforcement of Islamic values: this involves habituating religious behavior among students, modeling exemplary conduct by teachers, adopting an empathetic approach t0wards students, and fostering synergy among teachers and school elements. The evaluation of mental health development and the reinforcement of Islamic values is conducted through monitoring progress, measuring outcomes, and identifying obstacles to program success.
