Abstract

The experiment was conducted at Marine Aquaculture Unit of UPTD Sub-District of Moro Fishery and Marine Office of Karimun Regency, Province ofKepulauan Riau on February to March 2017. Extraction stage was conducted atMarine Chemical Laboratory Department of Marine Science Faculty of Fisheriesand Marine University of Riau. This Study aims to obtain the optimalconcentration of extract Keben (Barringtonia asiatica) for the process ofimotilization of Silver Pompanoo Fish. The test animal used is Silver Pompanoo(Trachinotus blochii) with size 150-200 gr. On the basis of preliminary results, theexperiment were carried out with 4 treatment concentrations of 13,79 mg/l, 19,00mg/l, 26,00 mg/l, 35,50 mg/l, and 0 mg/l as controls. Anova test showed thatconcentration had significant effect (P<0,05) on induction time, recoveredconscious and survival rate of Silver Pompanoo. The results showed thatconcentration 13,79 mg/l was the optimal concentration for Silver Pompanooimotilization process with induction time ranged from 15-17 minutes andconscious recovering time around 4-5 minutes and long fainting for 4,5 hours andresulted in rate of life equal to 86,6%.Kata Kunci : Barringtonia asiatica, Trachinotus blochii, imotilization.BAB I. Abstract

ABSTRACT Dinoflagellates are phytoplankton which, besides being planktonic, are also benthic which live in association with seagrasses, macroalgae, coral fractures and sand. Dinoflagellates acts as a primary producer in waters. This research was carried out in Mei 2018 in the waters of Malang Rapat Village, Bintan Regency, Riau Islands Province. This study aims to determine the concentration of nitrates and phosphates in the waters, to find out the abundance of toxic benthic dinoflagellates on Sargassum sp seaweed and to see the relationship of nitrate and phosphate concentrations with the abundance of toxic benthic dinoflagellates. The research method used is a survey method in which the sampling location is determined by purposive sampling. Measurements of water quality were carried out directly in place and further research in laboratory which consisting of physical and chemical parameters of the waters. In the study found 3 genus of toxic dinoflagelates, namely Prorocentrum, Gambierdiscus and Ostreopsis. The highest dinoflagellate abundance at station 3 was 302,279 cells/g and the lowest at station 4 was 133,529 cells/g. The results of simple linear regression analysis between nitrate concentration has a positive relationship to dinoflagellate abundance with the regression equation y = 187.4 + 317.8 x and the results of simple linear regression analysis between phosphate concentration have a negative relationship to the abundance of dinoflagellates with the regression equation y = 207 , 5 -206,3 x. Key Word : Dinoflagellate, Sargassum sp, Abundance, Malang Rapat

Abstract

A study on the effect of oil content on the epipelic diatom abundance weredone in march 2016 at Tanjung Buton intertidal. Three station were estabelishedare three replicades in calloting water as well as sediment sample. The analysis,identification and quantification of oil content and diatom abundance were carriedout in Marine Chemistry Laboratory and Marine Biology Laboratory, Faculty ofFisheries and Marine Science, University of Riau in Pekanbaru. It showed that oilcontent large apparentle the highest station 2 (1.224,10 ppm) and the lowest wasat station 1 (150,30 ppm). The highest abundance epipelic diatom of was found atstation 3 (15.752,33 Ind/cm2) and the lowest abundance was found at station 2(8.893,09 Ind/cm2). Epipelic diatom that were found in the water around theTanjung Buton Siak District Riau Province composing of 19 spesies. Rhizosoleniasp was the species with the highest abundance in all station. The epipelic diatomabundance was found to be during at different zone was in upper zone (15.313,65Ind/cm2), middle zone (13.638,73 Ind/cm2) and lower zone (11.325,72 Ind/cm2).Relationships between oil content with epipelic diatom abundance in TanjungButon Waters were y = -3,963x + 15.486, R2 = 0,400, r = 0,632. The oil contentand epipelic diatom abundance was negative correlation, which means in creasingof oil content will cause a decrease the abundance of epipelic diatom at TanjungButon waters.Keywords: Tanjung Buton Waters, Oil Content, Epipelic Diatom, Rhizosolenia sp

Abstract

The research was conducted in March 2017 by collecting samples of blood cockles (Anadara granosa) from Gemuruh Village Island coastal waters of Kundur Island, Karimun Regencyof Riau Islands Province. The study used survey method and the samples were collected from the intertidal area directly by hand. The resultsof this study showed that Cr content was found to be highest in medium size of the cockle in Station 1(0,7850μg/g), the highest Cu content was found in small size in Station 1(1,4983μg/g), and the highest Zn content was found in medium size in Station 2(24,9517μg/g). The results also showed that MPI values obtained from Gemuruh Village coastal waters was 2,0472. PTWI calculation derived from stations for Cr was 15,3374 mg/kg of body weight per week, Cu amounted to 1045,2839 mg/kg of body weight per week, whilst for Zn amounted to 2203,2374 mg/kg of body weight per week for the average of 70kg body weight. The concentrations of heavy metals in cockles from Gemuruh Village coastal waters can be considered as safe and accordingly there is no risk for the human consumption of these species as long as it does not exceed the suggested limit.Key words: Heavy metal, Anadara granosa, PTWI, Kundur Island

Abstract

Nirwana beaches water is well known as recreation and harbor. Such condition apparently brings negative impacts to marine life. Corals are considered as the major component of coral reef ecosystems whose condition is influenced by environmental condition. The aim of this study is to observe the general condition of coral reefs and the distribution of stony corals in Nirwana Beaches. The study was carried out Januari until May 2017 by taking 5 stations. The method used was Line Transect and coral identification using Coral Finder. The result indicates that generally the condition of coral reef was categorized as good condition, the coral cover averaging at 51.66 %. There were 109 organism of corals found, divided into 5 species. The morisita index value of 1.764 indicates that corals are distributed in groups. The highest frequency of occurrence of coral species by Porites. Human activities cause damage to coral reef ecosystems.Keywords: Corals, Coral Cover, Distribution, Nirwana Beaches.

Abstract

A study on the density, sex ratio of cockles (A. granosa) was conducted in Panipahan coastal mud-flat during May to August 2015. Two zones of 100 m and 250 m from coast line were established. Each sampling zone were divided into 5 plots of 1 m2. Apparently average density of cockles ranged from 25.9 - 28.4 ind/m2. There was no significant differently of cockles density between zones (p>0.05). Sex-ratio male/female appeared 1:1.27.Keyword : Density, Sex Ratio, Anadara granosa and Panipahan

Abstract

ABSTRACT Diatoms are the largest phytoplankton group and as the primary producer in marine waters.  This research was conducted in December 2017  around Kuala Enok of Indragiri Hilir Regency of Riau Province. The aim of this research was to determine the abundance of planktonic diatoms and their relationships with the nitrate and phosphate and to determine water quality as well as to see the relationship of planktonic diatoms abundance with water quality.  The survey method was applied in this research and sampling location determined by purposive sampling. Measurement of water quality was done by in situ and ex situ which consist of biologycal, physical and chemical parameters. Nitrate concentrations in waters ranged from 0,2207 to 0,2615 mg/l and phosphate concentrations ranged from 0,1595 to 0,2886 mg/l.  The planktonic diatoms on the water level in Kuala Enok consist of 11 genera and the abundance ranged from 6593,51 to 12336,24 individual/L, the mean value of diversity index ranged from 1,2074 to 1,6124. The dominance index ranged from 0,3767 to 0,5184 and the uniformity index value ranged from 0,6944 to 0,7955. Meanwhile, the correlation of diatom abundance with concentration of nitrate was 0,14 (very weak relationship) and correlation of diatomic abundance with phosphate concentration was 0,13 (very weak relationship). Based on the result of the abundance of planktonic diatoms with the nitrate and phosphate calculation on water level can be concluded that the waters in Kuala enok was in medium contaminated condition. Keyword: The abundance, nitrate and phosphate, planktonic diatom, Kuala Enok

Abstract

The research was conducted in February 2015 with the aim to analyze andcompare the contents of Pb, Cu and Zn in soft tissue and shells of the mangrovesnail (Nerita lineata) from three stations with different activities. The researchwas also objected to analyze the consumption feasibility of the snail as well as tounderstand the status of metal pollution by calculating the value of MPI (MetalPollution Index). The results showed that the average Pb content (8.197 and 8.538μg/g) of snails was greater than Zn (6.992 and 7.718 μg/g) and Cu (4.614 and4.468 μg/g) for soft tissue and shells respectively. Metal Pollution Index valuewas 6.552 indicated that the pollution status in the coastal waters of the west coastof Karimun Besar Island Riau Archipelago Province was still relatively low. Themangrove snail from this coastal waters were also considered safe forconsumption as long as not exceeding the limit of 0.836 kg/week based on Pb,208.68 kg/week based on Cu and 298.23 kg/week based on Zn concentrations.Key Words: Heavy metal, Mangrove snail, Nerita lineata, Karimun Islands.

Abstract

AbstractThe purpose of this research was to know the distribution and maternity of Razor clam’s gonad (Solen lamarckii). This research was held in August 2018 at Teluk lancar village, Bengkalis regency of Riau Province. The research used survey methodology. According to it, the razor clam’s habitat was found in sand substrate that classified as fine sand. The compactness rate of razor clams in its coastal area is 1.2 spesies/m. While, the razor clam’s size rate are bound from 47.9-98.55 mm. Additionally, the most widely gonad maternity was found in box 7.The highest group of razor clam gonad maternity index was <10% as many as 31 individuals. Keywords: Razor Clam, Distribution, Gonad Maternity, Teluk Lancar.

Abstract

Dinoflagellates is group of phytoplankton as a primary producer. Dinoflagellates can be planctonic also epiphytic. This research was conducted in January 2017 in Nirwana Beach Padang City West Sumatera Province which aims to determine the abundance of dinoflagellates, genera of dinoflagellates and its association with waters quality parameter used survey method. Nirwana Beach is dominated by Thalassia hemprichii, seaweed and coral reef. Purposive sampling method to select the research stations which 3 stations that represent the sampling location. Chemical and phisic waters quality measured by insitu and exsitu. The results showed that 4 genera of epiphytic dinoflagellates identified that are Amphidinium, Gambierdiscus, Ostreopsis dan Prorocentrum. The abundance of dinoflagellates is higher at 1st station with 333,18 cells g-1 and smaller at 2nd station with 224,06 cells g-1. Analysis of linear regression showed that nitrate concentration directly proportional with dinoflagellates abundance with equation y = 200,96 + 1336,7x and phospate concentration inversely proportional with dinoflagellates abundance with equation y = 345,09 + (-1868,4)x.Keywords: Dinoflagellates, Thalassia hemprichii, Nirwana Beach, Abundance
