Abstract

Ecotourism management of North Mareje Mountain Forest Area (NMMFA) is one of ways to achieved sustainable development goals (SDGs) in Central Lombok District. The lack of ecotourism economics value information causes investment for its development runs relative slowly. This study aims to valuate and evaluate the economics value of ecotourism development in NMMFA. The data used in this study includes number of tourist visits during 2018-2019, tourists visit frequency, travel costs and their socio-economic characteristics. Data was collected by interviewing NMMFA’s managers and tourists using questionnaire. Economic valuation analysis was carried out by using the traveling cost method (TCM). Economic evaluation diagnosed using paired t-test by comparing observed versus potential economic values. The Analysis result shows that the willingness to pay (WTP) of tourists whom visit to NMMFA=IDR. 347.579/visit with  economic value = IDR 3,72 B/year. The economic evaluation results explains that the observed economic value = IDR. 986,78 M/year is smaller than the potential economic value of it carrying capacity ones =IDR 127,05 B/year. To improve economic development, it required a new paradigm of forest management by making current conservation activities become a conservation business and improving sustainable ecotourism management aspects.

Abstract

The increase pressure on marine capture fisheries due to rising demand for seafood, growing population, and a rapid increase in fisheries exploitation, brought about a decline in productivity of many fisheries.Last issues of ocean degradation were related to; overfishing, pollution, habitat destruction (coral reef). FAO (2008) reported that 32% of fish stocks are ove-rexploitated, depleted or recovering from depletion, and this figure is rising every year. This unsustainability of marine and coastal ecosystem were related to overfishing, pollution and waste, habitat destruction (coral reef), climate change, and loss of habitat and biodiversity. Aware of those issues and threats the productive and valuable ocean area lies at risk. Therefore, a concept of Ecosystem Based-Management (EBM) was introduced. The approach lays out a series of principles to guide management toward long-term sustainability of marine and coastal management. Further beyond the sustainability, the term “blue economy” has been used by the Pacific Small Island Developing States Perspective (PSIDS). in effort to highlight the importance of conservation and sustainable use of marine resources.

Abstract

Anadara granosa is one of the bivalves that are often found in public markets. This study aimed to study the relationship between length-weight and sex ratio of blood clams (A. granosa) in the coastal waters of West Rangsang. Sampling was carried out every month at three stations. Shells were collected from a 1 x 1 m2 plot on a quadratic transect. The relationship between length and weight was analyzed by regression analysis. The sex ratio between the number of female and male blood clams in each month of sampling was calculated and followed by the Chi square test to test the similarity. The results showed that the relationship between length and weight of A. granosa was positive allometric. The sex ratio of female and male blood clams in the waters of West Rangsang is not balanced. The number of male blood clams is more than the female.

Abstract

Waste is a wasted or intentionally disposed material derived from the results of human and natural activities that do not have economic value. Pekanbaru city is one of the city that does not escape from garbage problem. The waste management of Pekanbaru City includes the final collection, collection, transportation, processing and disposal. Current waste management has not solved the problem optimally. The concept of waste management conducted by urban community Pekanbaru at this time mostly only tn the conte.xt of transporting waste from waste sources to landfills (FPA) which then will have an impact on the environment and health around the TPS are supported also with the behavior of people who are still mixing between dry waste and wet garbage. Type of research is done by qualitative approach with descriptive method Based on field facts with data collection techniques include observation, interviews, docwnentation studies related to research objectives. This research uses Hartono theory which mentions 5 stages of the applied process, namely prevent, reuse, recycle, capture energy and waste. The informant of this research is the administrative staff of Garbage Management Sector Pekanbaru City, Section Head of Solid Waste Management of Domestic Riau Province, and Chairman of Swadaya Masyarakat "Tarai Mandiri". For the purpose of this research is to analyze the waste management of Pekanbaru City and to know the factors - factors that influence waste management Pekanbaru City. The results of research conducted by researchers can be concluded that waste management Pekanbaru not yet maximal, this is based on the concept of waste management that is still not running optimally to change the old waste management concept to the new management concept using 3R concept (reduce, reuse and recycle) conducted by the government. This is influenced by the lack of public awareness and kuranngnya infrastructure facilities as a tool in the process of waste management
