Abstract

This article aims to examine the implementation of morals-based non-test assessment in PAI learning in grade 11 of SMK Muhammadiyah 4 Surakarta, focusing on its influence on students' character development. Islamic Religious Education (PAI) has an important role in instilling moral values. In this context, morals-based non-test assessment is an effective approach to assessing students' character development, as it focuses on observing their behavior and attitudes. At SMK Muhammadiyah 4 Surakarta, the implementation of this method is expected to help students not only understand religious teachings in theory, but also apply them in daily life. This research is a type of field research that is descriptive qualitative in nature. The main focus of this research is to understand the concept of evaluation in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning, which includes both test-based and non-test evaluation methods at SMK Muhammadiyah 4 Surakarta. In this study, a phenomenological approach is used to explore the experiences and understanding of individuals or groups regarding the phenomenon under investigation. Moral-based non-test assessment in PAI learning aims to evaluate students' moral values in everyday life. In contrast to test assessments that measure cognitive abilities. The implementation of morals-based non-test assessment faces obstacles such as difficulties in measuring morals objectively and limited time for observation.Morals-based non-test assessment in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning at SMK Muhammadiyah 4 Surakarta has an important role in shaping student character, in addition to mastery of academic material.

Abstract

Education is the most important factor in improving the quality of human resources, to achieve good quality education, the system in education must be improved starting from the student component, technology, curriculum to evaluation. Currently, based on the policy set by the minister of education Nadiem Makarim, the independent curriculum is implemented to give students the freedom to explore their abilities, but the facts in the field are that there are still many teachers who have not carried out evaluation activities ideally and continuously from time to time, therefore this research was conducted to find out the implementation of special evaluations in independent curriculum PAI learning at SMK 3 Klaten. This research activity was carried out with a qualitative research type with a case study at SMK 3 Klaten. The results of the study explain that the implementation of the evaluation of independent curriculum PAI learning at SMK 3 Klaten through assessment, namely attitude assessment, knowledge assessment and skills assessment. Attitude assessment sees how spiritual values are embedded in the character of students. Knowledge assessment looks at how the competence of spiritual knowledge possessed by participants and the last is skills assessment through project, practice and portfolio activities.

Abstract

The development of information and communication technology has had a major impact on various fields including education. In Indonesia, digitalization aims to increase the effectiveness of teaching and learning processes and educational activities. Assessment using web-based technology, such as the Computer Based Test (CBT), is a solution that overcomes various obstacles to paper-based assessment. CBT allows assessments that reduce the risk of conditions and errors. This research uses a qualitative method that applies a phenomenological approach with observation, interviews and documentation as data collection techniques. Data analysis was carried out in four stages: data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The research results show that the implementation of a web-based CBT application increases the efficiency and effectiveness of the learning and assessment process. However, there are several obstacles, such as limited technical abilities of teachers, technical problems related to software and internet connectivity, and the difficulty of including Arabic text in exam questions. Creative solutions such as converting Arabic text into images have helped overcome some of these problems. In addition, the CBT application features that support exam security and automatic data storage provide additional benefits. Overall, the implementation of the web-based CBT application at SMP Muhammadiyah Al-Kautsar PK Kartasura shows that this technology can optimize the learning and assessment process, but several existing obstacles still need to be overcome. With further improvements in infrastructure and teacher training, CBT can become an effective tool for improving the quality of education in Muhammadiyah schools.

Abstract

This research describes using differentiated learning from PAI materials in SMA Negeri 1 Tawangsari. Then, this research also explores the factors supporting and inhibiting differentiated learning. The design used is a qualitative descriptive design. The data collected using interview design and observation will be analyzed using qualitative data analysis. The research results show that differentiated learning in PAI materials at SMA Negeri 1 Tawangsari includes three main types: content differentiation, process differentiation, and product differentiation, tailored to the three primary learning styles: auditory, visual, and kinesthetic. Supporting factors for differentiated learning involve aligning learning types with students' interests, talents, and learning styles despite individual differences. On the other hand, inhibiting factors include students' misuse of mobile phones. The evaluation of differentiated learning positively impacts student achievement, which ultimately shapes their interests, talents, and learning styles, leading to more optimal learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the implementation of non-test evaluation in moral learning at SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Surakarta. The research method used is a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews with one of the teachers, and library research. The results showed that the implementation of non-test evaluations, such as observations of worship practices, congregational prayers, muroja’ah, and observations of student behavior, provided a comprehensive picture of students' moral development. Moral learning at SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Surakarta has also generally been implemented well, and the learning outcomes also show satisfactory achievements. However, there are several aspects in its implementation that need to be improved to improve the quality of the learning program such as the challenge of integrating moral values as a whole into students' daily behavior. This research recommends improving teacher competence, developing a comprehensive assessment rubric, and allocating adequate time and resources to support the successful implementation of non-test evaluation in moral learning. Similar research has also been conducted, for example by Ramadhan et al., (2024) which discusses non-test learning evaluation in morals subjects at SMP MUH 1 Karanganyar, as well as in the journal Natasya et al., (2024) which examines the implementation of non-test evaluation through microteaching practices in Aqidah Akhlak courses at UMS. Whereas in this study, it is focused on what and how the implementation of non-test evaluation in moral learning at SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Surakarta which has not been discussed in these studies.

Abstract

Learning evaluation is an important part of the education process. In the context of Islamic Religious Education (PAI), evaluation is not only centered on the knowledge aspect, but also assesses the development of students' religious character. This study aims to examine the influence of learning evaluation on student learning outcomes at SMP Muhammadiyah 4 Surakarta, and to describe the learning strategies applied by educators in an effort to improve these results. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection through interviews, observations, and documentation. The results of the study revealed that learning evaluation was carried out in various forms, such as daily assignments, mid-semester tests (PTS), and end-of-semester assessments (PAS). The strategies applied by teachers include providing role models, giving rewards, delivering moral messages, sharing inspiring experiences, and developing honest and polite behavior. Structured and integrated evaluation with this learning strategy has a meaningful impact on student learning outcomes, both in academic aspects and character development.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the strategies used in Arabic language learning at SMP Muhammadiyah Darul Arqom Karanganyar. The determination of Arabic language learning strategies is adjusted to the language skills to be learned and also involves the activeness of students and conditions for a pleasant learning atmosphere. This study uses a field-based descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection methods include interviews, observations, and documentation. Then the data is analyzed through qualitative interactive analysis techniques from Miles and Huberman, which consist of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. This study shows that the strategies in learning at SMP Muhammadiyah Darul Arqom Karanganyar are quite diverse, including communicative methods, vocabulary comprehension, eclectic methods, and study groups. Among the supporting factors are the school environment that is accustomed to hearing Arabic, and the inhibiting factors are the different educational backgrounds of students. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis strategi yang digunakan dalam pembelajaran bahasa Arab di SMP Muhammadiyah Darul Arqom Karanganyar. Penentuan strategi pembelajaran bahasa Arab disesuaikan dengan kemahiran kebahasaan yang akan dipelajari dan juga melibatkan keaktifan peserta didik serta mengkondisikan suasana pembelajaran yang menyenangkan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif berbasis lapangan. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara, oservasi, dan dokumentasi. Kemudian data dianalis melalui teknik analisis interaktif kualitatif dari Miles dan Huberman yang terdiri dari: reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa strategi dalam pembelajaran di SMP Muhammadiyah Darul Arqom Karanganyar meliputi: strategi komunikatif, pemahaman kosakata, metode elektik, dan kelompok belajar. Di antara faktor pendukungnya adalah dari lingungan sekolah yang membiasakan untuk mendengar baasa Arab, dan faktor penghambatnya ialah latar belakang pendidikan peserta didik yang berbeda.

Abstract

This community service program (PkM) aims to address significant welfare gaps in remote areas. Such as in rural areas in Wonogiri Regency, Central Java. This PkM focuses on integrated Islamic religious education, health and social services as an actualization of Al-Maun theology initiated by KH Ahmad Dahlan (founder of Muhammadiyah). Islamic religious education services, especially in remote areas such as Pucung Village, Eromoko District, Wonogiri are among the most concerning. Due to various limitations, such as lack of teachers, minimal educational facilities, minimal social activities and a quality of life that is far from healthy. This fact encourages the PkM Team to provide solutions in the form of programs and activities designed to improve the quality of life of the community in terms of education, health and social. Guidance activities are carried out with religious guidance to improve understanding and quality of worship and other Islamic education. Muhammadiyah Post School which provides non-formal education at the ronda post. In addition, there is also Health Education to increase health awareness in the community. This program will involve various stakeholders, including local governments, schools, communities, and religious organizations. Through good collaboration, it is hoped that it can create a conducive, sustainable living environment that can reflect the characteristics of Al-Maun theology with a focus on the three areas as mentioned.

Abstract

The Indonesian diaspora in Turkey, particularly students and migrant workers, continues to face challenges in Islamic financial literacy as well as limited access to information on investment opportunities in Indonesia through financial technology (fintech). Such conditions may hinder optimal financial management. To address these issues, this community engagement program was designed to equip the diaspora with an understanding of Islamic financial principles and provide education on investment opportunities through fintech platforms, both sharia-based and conventional. The activities were conducted through interactive seminars, discussions, and mentoring sessions delivered in both online and offline formats, in collaboration with PCIM Turkey, the PPI Turkey community, and Gelin as strategic partners. The program adopted a multidisciplinary approach by involving lecturers from the Faculty of Islamic Studies to deliver counseling on sharia aspects of investment. The implementation stages included program planning, partner coordination, site surveys, seminars, and evaluation through pre-tests and post-tests. The evaluation results demonstrated an increase in participants’ understanding of Islamic financial literacy and fintech utilization. Program documentation was disseminated through social media, the UMS news portal, and the Muhammadiyah news portal, while a social media group was established as a sustainable channel for communication and follow-up mentoring.

Abstract

The challenges and development of education in Indonesia are getting bigger considering the rapid changes in the times. Evaluation is one of the competencies and a series of learning steps that a teacher must master and also aims to understand the basic concept of evaluation and its implications in evaluating Islamic Religious Education learning. Assessing learning through essay tests allows for a more in-depth assessment of students' understanding and skills. Essay tests give students the opportunity to present their thoughts and arguments in detail, allowing teachers to assess understanding of concepts more holistically. This article uses qualitative methods and approaches the study of book literature and previous research journals. The results of this research are that there are efforts to support the quality of education by holding good and correct evaluations and various choices to suit the type of learning. In this case, the essay test evaluation is a critical and more descriptive evaluation instrument.
