Abstract

Occupational safety and health are important factors in the steam power generation industry which has a high risk of work accidents. The implementation of behavior-based safety at coal-fired power plants is useful for reducing the incidence of accidents through intervention on worker behavior. This study aims to analyze the relationship between behavior-based safety criteria and the rate of work accidents at PLTU Units 3, 7, and 8 in East Java. This study uses a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design. Primary data was collected through questionnaires distributed to 178 workers, while secondary data was obtained from company safety reports. The results of the study show that there is a significant relationship between behavior-based safety and the rate of work accidents through the definition factors of safe/unsafe behavior, training, basic performance, reinforcement, feedback, goal setting, and reviews in PLTU Units 3, 7, and 8 workers in East Java. This variable contributes to increasing workers' awareness of safety and reducing the number of work accidents. Meanwhile,  the ownership variables) and observation did not have a significant relationship with work accidents, indicating the need for increased active worker participation and the effectiveness of follow-up from safety observations. The conclusion of this study is that behavior-based safety is an effective approach in reducing work accidents at coal-fired power plants, with factors such as safe/unsafe behavior, training, basic performance, reinforcement, feedback, goal setting, and review plays an important role in improving occupational safety. Companies need to strengthen training programs and monitoring worker behavior to achieve the zero accident target.

Abstract

Work safety is a crucial aspect of the Cement industry, especially in high-risk jobs such as handling cliff landslides. This study aims identify potential hazards, assess risks, and control them using the HIRARC (Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Risk Control) method to reduce the frequency of operational incidents at PT Semen Gresik. The research employs field observations, interviews with workers, and data analysis using the HIRARC approach. Findings indicate that before implementing this method, several tasks were categorized as high risk and extreme risk. After risk control measures were applied, the level of risk was reduced to moderate risk and low risk. This study recommends changing the slope design from single slope to multi slope, which has been proven to increase the Safety Factor (SF) to 1.742. Additionally, improving work safety management is suggested through the promotion of Occupational Safety and Health (K3) and the installation of Extenso Meters to monitor ground movement.

Abstract

Aspek kehalalan produk tidak hanya menjadi perhatian bagi konsumen muslim, tetapi    juga mendapatkan respon yang baik dari konsumen non muslim. Hal tersebut dikarenakan menurut persepsi konsumen, produk yang bersertifikat halal berarti produk tersebut telah memenuhi jaminan kualitas, kebersihan, higienitas, dan keamanan untuk dikonsumsi.Pada penelitian sebelumnya sertifikasi halal ini mampu memperbaiki kinerja operasional dan finansial perusahaan tetapi itu bagi perusahaan besar belum berfokus pada UKM. Tujuan Penelitian ini untuk mendapatkan bukti ilmiah dampak penerapan sertifikasi halal terhadap profitabilitas Perusahaan dan kinerja perusahaan pada UMKM khususnya produk makanan di kota Karanyangar dalam meningkatkan pendapatan. Metode Penelitian ini dengan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan menggunakan alat statistik deskriptif dan pengujian hipotesis. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang dilakukan, dapat disimpulkan bahwa kepemilikan sertifikasi halal memberikan dampak positif terhadap profitabilitas dan kinerja operasional Usaha Mikro, Kecil, dan Menengah (UMKM) di Kota Karanganyar. Hal ini menunjukkan UMKM yang memiliki sertifikasi halal menunjukkan peningkatan profitabilitas yang signifikan dibandingkan sebelum memiliki sertifikasi halal. Hal ini terbukti melalui peningkatan Net Profit Margin, ROA, ROE yang lebih tinggi pada UMKM setelah bersertifikasi halal dibandingkan sebelum memiliki sertifikasi.

Abstract

UMKM rambak kulit sapi di Kampung Rambak, Kecamatan Cawas, Kabupaten Klaten memiliki potensi ekonomi yang besar namun masih menghadapi tantangan dalam hal branding dan pemasaran. Minimnya pemanfaatan teknologi digital menyebabkan jangkauan pasar produk masih terbatas pada area lokal. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kapasitas pelaku UMKM dalam memanfaatkan strategi digital marketing untuk penguatan brand dan perluasan pasar industry mereka. Metode yang digunakan meliputi penyuluhan, pelatihan teknis penggunaan media sosial (Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp Business, Tiktok, Shopee), pembuatan konten digital, serta pendampingan branding produk. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa peserta mengalami peningkatan pemahaman dan keterampilan dalam mengelola media sosial untuk promosi, membuat desain visual sederhana, serta merancang identitas merek yang lebih menarik. Selain itu, beberapa UMKM mulai mendapatkan respon positif dari konsumen luar daerah melalui platform digital. Kegiatan ini diharapkan menjadi langkah awal menuju kemandirian digital pelaku UMKM rambak kulit sapi di Kampung Rambak, serta memperkuat eksistensi produk lokal di tengah persaingan pasar modern.

Abstract

The potential natural resources of Brajan Village, Mojosongo, Boyolali include the availability of fertile rice fields covering an area of 166.651 hectares, almost 60% of the total area. Residents utilize this potential for farming and animal husbandry. These activities produce various kinds of waste, including post-harvest waste and livestock manure. The waste produced is generally unused or disposed of by residents. Starting from the large amount of existing potential, Sahid University Surakarta held community service activities aimed at reducing environmental pollution caused by untreated waste, as well as making the waste more useful and economically valuable. This activity was carried out by constructing a fixed dome biogas reactor and continued with training on the application of using the reactor to process livestock manure into biogas and organic compost from bio-slurry. In this service activity, the team provided a biogas reactor installation to one of the Brajan Village residents as a grant recipient. In addition, support in the form of chopping machines and agricultural tools was also provided to Gapoktan members as farming and composting equipment. Training activities were also conducted to increase the knowledge of Brajan Village residents regarding biogas and compost. This community service activity was considered successful and well-targeted because, after participating in the training, the residents' knowledge level regarding biogas and compost, which was initially classified as fair, improved to a very good level. Moreover, agricultural and livestock waste that was previously discarded now has higher economic value because it can be processed into biogas and compost. Potensi sumber daya alam Desa Brajan, Mojosongo, Boyolali berupa ketersediaan lahan persawahan subur seluas 166,651 Hektar, hampir 60% dari luas total wilayah. Potensi tersebut dimanfaatkan warga untuk bertani dan berternak, dari aktivitas tersebut menghasilkan berbagai macam limbah, diantaranya limbah pasca panen dan kotoran ternak. Limbah yang dihasilkan pada umumnya tidak dimanfaatkan/dibuang oleh warga. Berawal dari banyaknya potensi yang ada, Universitas Sahid Surakarta mengadakan kegiatan pengabdian yang bertujuan untuk mengurangi pencemaran lingkungan akibat limbah yang tidak tertangani, serta menjadikan limbah lebih bermanfaat dan bernilai ekonomis. Kegiatan ini dilakukan dengan pembuatan reaktor biogas teknologi fixed dome dan dilanjutkan pelatihan aplikasi penggunaan reaktor dalam mengolah kotoran ternak menjadi biogas dan komos organik dari bio-slurry. Pada kegiatan pengabdian ini, tim pengabdi memberikan instalasi reaktor biogas kepada salah satu warga Desa Brajan sebagai penerima hibah. Selain itu bantuan berupa mesin pencacah dan alat pertanian juga diberikan kepada anggota gapoktan sebagai sarana bertani dan membuat kompos. Kegiatan pelatihan juga dilakukan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan warga Desa Brajan terkait biogas dan kompos. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dinilai  berhasil dan tepat sasaran karena setelah mengikuti pelatihan tigkat pengetahuan warga terkait biogas dan kompos yang awalnya tergolong cukup menjadi sangat baik. Di samping itu, limbah pertanian dan peternakan yang dibuang begitu saja sekarang menjadi lebih bernilai ekonomis karena mampu diolah menjadi biogas dan kompos.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh work-life balance terhadap burnout, serta menguji peran self-efficacy sebagai variabel moderasi. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode analisis regresi moderasi (Moderated Regression Analysis/MRA). Data dikumpulkan melalui penyebaran kuesioner kepada 99 responden yang merupakan karyawan tetap di PT Nusatama Sejahtera Abadi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa work-life balance berpengaruh negatif dan signifikan terhadap burnout, dengan koefisien regresi -0,557 dan signifikansi 0,000. Artinya, semakin seimbang kehidupan kerja dan pribadi, semakin rendah tingkat burnout karyawan. Selain itu, self-efficacy terbukti memoderasi hubungan tersebut secara signifikan (koefisien interaksi -1,695; signifikansi 0,000). Namun, arah negatif menunjukkan bahwa self-efficacy memperlemah pengaruh work-life balance terhadap burnout. Karyawan dengan self-efficacy tinggi cenderung tetap mampu mengelola tekanan kerja meskipun work-life balance mereka tidak optimal. Temuan ini menekankan pentingnya program penguatan self-efficacy seperti pelatihan, coaching, dan dukungan psikologis di lingkungan kerja.

Abstract

In the textile industry, quality control is a crucial aspect to ensure the stability and consistency of production results. One of the important stages in yarn production is the warping process, which has a significant influence on the quality in the subsequent process. This study aims to apply the Statistical Process Control (SPC) method to assess the quality of 40 CD KNB yarn in the warping process in the GKBI PC company, Preparation Department, and determine whether the process is already in a controlled condition. Currently, the average quality and amount of monthly yarn production show fluctuations with a downward trend of 1.64 per 5,000,000 meters in the period February–July 2024. This figure is below the company's daily production target of 1.00 per 5,000,000 meters, so the target has not been achieved. This discrepancy indicates the need for a more systematic evaluation and improvement of the quality control system. Based on the analysis of the X-Bar control chart in January 2025, two data points were found outside the control limits (UCL = 176.8; LCL = -29.5; average = 73.6), ie on January 4 and 20. The main cause of such uncontrollability is the weak yarn that comes from the rewinding process. Check sheet analysis and Pareto diagram shows that the most common factors causing thread breakage are weak threads. Furthermore, through the cause-and-effect diagram (fishbone diagram), it was identified that the factors that cause thread breakage come from four categories: human (HR), material (raw material), environment, and machine. Of the four factors, human resources and material aspects are the biggest contributors to influence. Therefore, it is recommended that quality control at PC GKBI be strengthened through training and counseling programs to employees, in order to improve skills and awareness of the importance of quality. This step is expected to reduce the rate of yarn breakage, maintain the stability of the production process, and ensure consistent achievement of company targets.

Abstract

According to the circular letter from the Head of the Inspectorate General (KaIT) regarding the review of mining accident cases in September 2024 and the review of mining accidents in the third quarter of 2024, the percentage of accidents occurring in workshops reached 16.13%. Over the past five years, the Plant Department of PT Saptaindra Sejati Jobsite Sera has experienced two major incidents classified as Lost Time Injury (LTI) resulting from working with lifting equipment on undercarriage components. The purpose of this study is to identify risks, analyze risk levels, and provide recommendations for risk control in the overhaul work of the PC210-10M0 undercarriage. This research applies the HIRADC method by identifying potential hazards through calculations of likelihood and severity levels to obtain the risk level using a risk matrix. Control measures are then carried out through administrative actions such as documentation and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). The results of this study indicate a decrease in risk levels after implementing risk controls—from extreme risk to medium risk, and from high risk to low risk. Suggestions from this study include the need to develop updated HIRADC for each section, actively conduct socialization regarding Job Safety Analysis (JSA) before work, and perform inspections as well as observations related to work behavior.

Abstract

Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) is a crucial aspect of manufacturing industry operations, particularly in activities involving interactions between humans, machines, and materials. This study aims to identify, evaluate, and classify potential hazards and the associated risk levels in various work processes, including Picking Differential Carrier, Small Part Preparation, Brake Assembly & Retainer Press, Axle Shaft & Brake Install, and Nut Brake Tightening. The analysis method employs a systematic approach to different types of hazards—chemical, physical, mechanical, and ergonomic—followed by an assessment of probability and impact levels. The results indicate that most hazards fall within the "unlikely" to "possible" probability categories, with risk levels ranging from low to moderate. The dominant hazards identified stem from mechanical factors, such as the risk of being struck or scratched by materials, and ergonomic factors related to non-ergonomic working postures. Implemented controls include the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), enforcement of work instructions, installation of visual warning systems, and technical modifications to machinery. It can be concluded that risk management has been conducted effectively; however, continuous evaluation is necessary to ensure a safe, healthy, and productive working environment for employees. Abstract

Work fatigue is a significant issue faced by employees in Indonesia, with approximately 65% experiencing symptoms that reduce their concentration and performance. Excessive workload, particularly mental workload, can result in cognitive strain and decreased productivity. This study aims to measure the level of mental workload experienced by quality control employees at PT Delta Dunia Tekstil I using the NASA Task Load Index (NASA-TLX) method. The research also investigates the relationship between employees’ age, length of service, and perceived mental workload through T-tests and F-tests to provide a more comprehensive analysis. Data were collected from 20 quality control employees who are responsible for monitoring textile production under strict standards. Results from NASA-TLX calculations indicate that the average mental workload falls within the high category, with effort and own performance emerging as the dominant dimensions contributing to mental strain. Correlation analysis shows a negative but not statistically significant relationship between age, length of service, and mental workload, suggesting that other factors play a stronger role in shaping employees’ perceptions. The study further highlights fluctuations in employee attendance and quality performance indicators, emphasizing the importance of workload evaluation. To address these issues, recommendations include adding more operators per machine, which is projected to reduce mental workload scores by approximately 33%. Such measures can optimize task distribution, improve efficiency, and promote employee well-being. Overall, the findings suggest that systematic workload assessments using tools such as NASA-TLX are essential for enhancing productivity and supporting sustainable human resource management in the textile industry.
