Abstract

Background: Human face is a biometric feature. Artificial Intelligence (AI) called Artificial Neural Network (ANN) can be used in recognising such a biometric feature. In ANN, the learning process is divided into two: supervised and unsupervised learning. In supervised learning, a common method used is Backpropagation, while in the unsupervised learning, a common one is Kohonen Self Organizing Map (KSOM). However, the application of Backpropagation and KSOM need to be adjusted to improve the performance.Objective: In this study, Backpropagation and KSOM algorithms are rewritten to suit face image recognition, applied and compared to determine the effectiveness of each algorithm in solving face image recognition.Methods: In this study, the methods used and compared in the case of face image recognition are Backpropagation dan Kohonen Self Organizing Map (KSOM) Artificial Neural Network (ANN).Results: The smallest False Acceptance Rate (FAR) value of Backpropagation is 28%, and KSOM is 36%, out of 50 unregistered face images tested. While the smallest False Rejection Rate (FRR) value of Backpropagation is 22%, and KSOM is 30%, out of 50 registered face images. The fastest time for the training process using the backpropagation method is 7.14 seconds, and the fastest time for recognition is 0.71 seconds. While the fastest time for the training process using the KSOM method is 5.35 seconds, and the fastest time for recognition is 0.50 seconds.Conclusion: Backpropagation method is better in recognising face images than KSOM method, but the training process and the recognition process by KSOM method are faster than Backpropagation method due to the hidden layers. Keywords: Artificial Neural Network (ANN), Backpropagation, Kohonen Self Organizing Map (KSOM), Supervised learning, Unsupervised learning

Abstract

Penunjukan Azimuth oleh DVOR dalam navigasi pesawat dilakukan saat terjadi modulasi diudarayang dipancarkan oleh sideband antenna dan reference antenna, sinyal tersebut akan diterima olehreceiver pesawat sehingga pesawat dapat mengetahui posisinya terhadap DVOR. Proses identifikasisinyal Azimuth tersebut juga dapat diketahui dari blending signal yang dihasilkan oleh GroundStation dengan menghitung selisih waktu pancar antara sideband antenna no 1(sebagai reference)dengan sideband antenna lainnya yang kemudian dikonversi dalam besaran Azimuth. perhitunganselisih waktu oleh pemancar diproses melalui mikrokontroller dengan terlebih dahulu melewatisistem filter. Filter berfungsi untuk mendeteksi sinyal output DVOR Ground Station agar bisa terbacaoleh mikrokontroller .Penggunaan system monitoring ini diharapkan bisa memastikan sinyal yangdihasilkan oleh ground station dalam kondisi siap pancar serta dalam kondisi bagus.

Abstract

Telah direalisasikan sebuah desain dan fabrikasi antena mikrostrip meander-line pada frekuensi VHF untuk komunikasi D2D. Antena mikrostrip meander-line merupakan jenis antena mikrostrip yang memiliki strukutur patch persegi berliku-liku. Pada penelitian ini dilakukan beberapa tahapan diantaranya menentukan spesifikasi antena, merancang desain antena menggunakan simulator Ansoft HFSS v13, dan fabrikasi. Antena mikrostrip meander-line ini diaplikaasikan untuk komunikasi komunikasi D2D pada frekuensi VHF (Very High Frequency). Berdasarkan hasil simulasi, diperoleh dimensi antena dengan ukuran dimensi substart yaitu 320 mm x 540 mm, dimensi patch 280 mm x 420mm, panjang saluran pencatu 90 mm dan lebar pencatu 3.5 mm. Pada perancangan dan pembuatan antena mikrostip meander-line memiliki nilai parameter yang telah memenui standar dan telah ditentukan. Pada propses perancangan antena meander-line secara simulasi antena dapat beroperasi pada frekuensi 141 Mhz dengan nilai S-parameter sebesar -11.8 dB, VSWR sebesar 1.6. Namun pada hasil fabrikasi antena meander-line beroperasi pada frekuensi 138.7 Mhz dengan nilai return loss sebesar -21.4 dB, dan nilai parameter VSWR sebesar 1.16, Antena meander-line hasil fabrikasi memiliki kelebihan yaitu dapat bekerja pada frekuensi multiband diantaranya pada frekuensi 3.1 Ghz, 5 Ghz, dan 5.9 Ghz dengan kata lain antena mikrostrip meander-line bekerja di frekuensi gelombang mikro.

Abstract

Politeknik Penerbangan Surabaya merupakan pendidikan tinggi di bawah Kementerian Perhubungan Indonesia. Salah satu gedung di kampus Politeknik Penerbangan Surabaya adalah gedung laboratorium terintegrasi. Gedung laboratorium terintegrasi ini merupakan salah satu gedung untuk belajar mengajar yang didalamnya terdapat banyak ruang kelas. Masing-masing ruang kelas memiliki fasilitas ruang kelas berupa lampu, air conditioner (AC), dan proyektor. Fasilitas ruang kelas dikontrol menggunakan saklar manual dan remote untuk AC dan proyektor, sehingga untuk mengontrolnya perlu masuk ke dalam kelas. Pemakaian fasilitas ruang kelas terkadang terjadi human error seperti lupa untuk mematikan fasilitas ruang kelas sehingga mengakibatkan pemborosan listrik dan dapat menimbulkan terjadinya konsleting listrik/arus pendek listrik yang berakibat kebakaran. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah membuat sistem monitoring dan kontrol fasilitas ruang kelas dengan raspberry pi yang dapat diakses melalui smartphone dengan tampilan graphic user interface untuk memudahkan user dalam mengontrol fasilitas ruang kelas sehingga pemborosan listrik dan konsleting listrik dapat dicegah. Raspberry pi merupakan salah satu mikroprosessor yang digunakan sebagai suatu sistem monitoring dan kontrol jarak jauh. Sehingga pengendalian on/off lampu, AC, dan proyektor dapat secara jarak jauh dan tidak perlu memasuki ruang kelas karena pengendalian perangkat ruang kelas tersebut dapat melalui smartphone maupun laptop yang terkoneksi jaringan wireless raspberry pi.

Abstract

Microstrip antenna is an antenna that is widely developed in various applications. Microstrip antennas are very attractive because of their light weight, easy adjustment of shape and low cost. In radio wave communication, an antenna that has good performance is needed: bandwidth, working frequency, VSWR, and good gain. This study aims to design a rectangular patch microstrip antenna with existing antenna parameters, so that it can be used as a learning medium in the air navigation engineering study program. The author conducted an experiment by designing and analyzing the performance of a microstrip antenna with a rectangular patch shape at a frequency of 2.4 GHz using the CST Studio Suite 2018 software and the ADS 2019 software as a simulator. The use of Epoxy FR-4 as a substrate is based on the aim of designing a smaller antenna but it has an impact on lower antenna efficiency and a wide antenna bandwidth. This is because the relative permittivity values and the dielectric thickness are quite large, namely 4.8 and 1.6 mm. The antenna specifications to be designed are obtained from calculations, namely the patch width is 36.70 mm, the patch length is 29.03 mm. The results of simulation work using CST Studio Suite 2018 software and ADS 2019 software show the optimal working frequency at 2,388GHz. Parameters such as return loss, bandwidth, VSWR, and gain in the two simulators are different, the CST Studio Suite 2018 application design is more in line with the expected Long Term Evolution (LTE) antenna specifications.

Abstract

The purpose of designing a VOR Receiver Prototype is to design a receiver that can tell the DVOR transmission parameters received at the Ground Station. From research and design. In its application, the prototype of the VOR Receiver device uses RTL-SDR to process the emission results produced by air navigation equipment that can display information like PIR, one of which is the DVOR. This method used is the application of radio receivers through small hardware with a signal processing block in the form of software in the GNURadio application which is tested through two points as sampling during research observations. The information obtained is in the form of Spectrum, Phase, Azimuth, RF Level, Frequency Error, IDENT. Where the information is shown on a display in the form of numbers, graphics and images like PIR (Portable ILS / VOR Receiver). So that it can be used to assist navigation technicians in Ground Inspection activities.

Abstract

This design was created to facilitate the monitoring the factor of the internet protocol television damage through technician server room. Cause of damage factor that will be monitoring are temperature, humidity and voltage on the device. Component used to monitoring the temperature and humidity is DHT22 sensor on the set top box device on internet protocol television. Basic concept of this design is DHT sensor will send the information about temperature and humidity alteration to Arduino UNO that will be processed by Arduino UNO. Data received from sensor processed by Arduino UNO and sent by ethernet shield to computer server. It will be discussed more clearly in this paper and more completely about the work principle of monitoring set top box system design on internet protocol television.

Abstract

This design was created as an alternative Explosive Detector equipment as well as provide additional help if at an airport not provided the proper equipment. Its equipment is not yet available Explosive Detector at some airport and its equipment is expensive, the writer wanted to make a design Explosive Detector with a low costand designed with the latest technology. The design of Explosive Detector capable of detecting the presence and type of explosives by calculating a large magnetic field as well as large comparing magnetic field so they will know what kind of explosives were detected. The draft Explosive Detector uses Magnetometer sensor as the basic concept.

Abstract

The telephone is a communication tool that can connect someone with others quickly. Communication using the phone has become a primary need for the community, especially in large cities, agencies, to large enterprises. The phone service users in bulk urgently need a alatyang is the development of telephone communication tool known as the PABX (Private Automatic Branch Exchange). In this study the author uses the theory of the resistors, capacitors, diodes LED, optocoupler, Pro wireless XBee, XBee Pro adapter, PABX theory, the theory of the phone, Atmega 16 microcontroller and programming languages. The method used in this research is to study literature, comparative studies of the lecturers, field studies and through experiments in the laboratory. The conclusion of this design are the technicians who worked on the PABX unit can determine the condition of the telephone line clearly and be more efficient in monitoring the telephone line with a distance of affordable, especially if there is damage to phone lines can directly send on display Personal Computer.

Abstract

Antena merupakan salah satu perangkat penting yang ada pada sistem navigasi Doppler VOR (DVOR). Saat ini pengembangan antena dengan biaya produksi rendah menjadi salah satu alternatif tujuan para peneliti. Salah satu teknologi yang banyak digunakan sebagai solusinya adalah antena berbasis mikrostrip. Sebab antena berbasis mikrostrip menawarkan biaya produksi yang sangat rendah dibandingkan dengan jenis antena lain. Antena yang dipakai pada sistem DVOR saat ini adalah antena Alford Loop. Pada penelitian ini dilakukan perancangan antena mikrostrip rectangular dengan pencatuan coaxial sebagai alternatif antena DVOR yang bekerja pada frekuensi VHF (frekuensi 108-118 MHz), sehingga hal ini memungkinkan biaya produksi yang lebih murah dibandingkan antenna Alford Loop pada umumnya. Perancangan dan simulasi antena dilakukan menggunakan software CST Microwave Studio menggunakan material FR-4 dengan konstanta dielektrik (). Hasil perancangan dan simulasi antena menunjukkan return loss (S11) sebesar -16.1 dB dan gain sebesar 4 dB pada frekuensi 113 MHz. Dari hasil simulasi juga dapat diketahui bahwa memiliki polarisasi linier horizontal dan polaradiasi yang bersifat omni-directional.
