Abstract

Electrical circuit instruction in aviation vocational education faces persistent challenges, including limited laboratory infrastructure, conventional teaching methods, and low student engagement. This study developed an instructional module based on Project-Based Learning (PjBL), integrated with a Learning Management System (LMS) and mockup trainers, using the ADDIE model through its Analysis, Design, and Development phases. The module comprises a semester learning plan (RPS), LMS-based digital content, practical mockups, and rubric-based project assessments. Expert validation confirmed the module’s technical feasibility, media quality, and pedagogical relevance, with scores of 83% from the electrical engineering expert, 80% from the media expert, and 85% from the instructional technology expert. These results affirm the module’s readiness for implementation in vocational education. The study underscores the value of contextual digital instructional design in bridging theory and practice, enhancing student motivation, and fostering industry-relevant competencies.

Abstract

This research aims to develop a network security system based on the Network Intrusion Detection and Prevention System (NIDPS) that combines Snort and Honeypot, and is integrated with Telegram to provide instant notifications related to network anomalous activity. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model, which includes analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Snort plays a role in detecting cyber threats through network traffic analysis, while Honeypot serves to trick attackers by mimicking the original server. The fail2ban feature was added to block repeated attack attempts such as brute force. Quality of Service (QoS) testing, which includes throughput, packet loss, delay, and jitter, shows that the system is able to detect a wide range of threats without significantly impacting network performance. The system developed is not only effective in detecting cyberattacks, but also provides real-time alerts through Telegram, thus helping in mitigating potential damage. Further developments are proposed to improve detection against more complex attacks and optimize the system's integration with Telegram for faster notifications.

Abstract

The rapid growth of the aviation industry also presents significant challenges regarding environmental impact. In Indonesia, airports are facing pressure to reduce their carbon footprint and improve overall sustainability. This research aims to provide a clear picture of the policies and challenges of implementing sustainable airports in Indonesia. A systematic literature review was carried out using PRISMA guidelines, which aims to analyze knowledge regarding sustainability at airports. This research uses the Google Scholar database, Scopus from Elsevier, the Web of Science database from Clarivate, and the 2023 PT Angkasa Pura I and II sustainability reports. The results of the research show that sustainable airport policies focus on developing environmentally friendly airports by prioritizing environmental management and collaborating with various stakeholders. Environmentally sustainable airports have been implemented, but they are limited to large airports in Indonesia.

Abstract

Airport signage is a core wayfinding facility that can reduce uncertainty and support passenger movement in complex terminal environments. This study examined the effect of signage quality—operationalized through clarity, placement, and lighting—on passenger satisfaction in the departure area of Terminal 1, Juanda International Airport. A quantitative cross-sectional design was applied to 100 passengers using a 24-item, five-point Likert questionnaire. Twelve items measured signage quality and twelve measured passenger satisfaction. Instrument quality was assessed through item-total validity and Cronbach’s alpha, followed by normality testing, Pearson correlation, and simple linear regression. All items were valid; reliability was high for signage (α = 0.957) and passenger satisfaction (α = 0.936). Signage quality was strongly associated with passenger satisfaction (r = 0.959, 95% CI [0.940, 0.972], p < 0.001), and explained 92.0% of the observed variance (R² = 0.920). Lower-scoring items concerned ease of locating signs, orientation, reduction of confusion, and overall satisfaction with directional clarity. The novelty of the study lies in isolating the physical characteristics of airport signage as a specific service-quality determinant in an Indonesian terminal context rather than treating signage as a minor part of a broad facility index. The findings extend airport service-quality research by linking tangible information infrastructure with passenger satisfaction and provide a practical basis for signage audits, decision-point placement, lighting improvement, and passenger-centered terminal planning. Because both variables were measured through the same cross-sectional questionnaire, the unusually high R² should be interpreted cautiously and verified through multi-airport and multi-method studies.

Abstract

Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B) is a technology used in aircraft monitoring systems, where aircraft transmit identity, position, speed, and other data via open radio signals. Receiving and decoding ADS-B signals to obtain real-time flight information have been of significant interest in the aviation field. In this study, we propose the implementation of a multi-receiver ADS-B system based on RTL-SDR (Software-Defined Radio) to enhance monitoring coverage and flight data accuracy. RTL-SDR is a cost-effective and versatile platform that uses hardware programmable through software to receive radio signals. To demonstrate the effectiveness and performance of the multi-receiver RTL-SDR-based ADS-B system, a series of experiments will be conducted in different environments, followed by a comparison of results with another platform, namely Flight Radar24. The system's performance will be evaluated, yielding a success rate of 83.8%, accuracy of 76.68%, and equipment sensitivity of 64.17 dBm. For Quality of Service (QoS) analysis, the obtained results are as follows: throughput falls under the category of very good, packet loss is categorized as moderate, delay is categorized as very good, and jitter is categorized as bad
