Abstract

This study aimed to describe the success of the management of a language laboratory in improving students' Arabic language competence. This was a qualitative descriptive study. The research findings show that the language learning process through the laboratory increased the students' listening and speaking skill. The language learning process through the laboratory was supported by extracurricular activities. This activity also had a positive impact on language learning achievement of students who previously did not understand Arabic. Then, laboratory as a place for accommodating students' talent such as laboratories was very helpful for students in the learning process; this was because the students could communicate directly with native speakers. The implementation of the development of teaching and learning activities using the Arabic language laboratory was directed to students through inservice training programs. The evaluation program was conducted by Arabic language lecturers to see the level of achievement obtained by students after finishing studying in two ways, namely competitive and non-competitive.

Abstract

This study examines the problematic legal entity status of Baitul Maal wa Tamwil (BMT) between cooperatives and limited liability companies from the perspectives of positive law and Sharia principles. Following the enactment of Law Number 1 of 2013 concerning Microfinance Institutions, BMT is normatively required to be incorporated as either a cooperative or a limited liability company. This provision raises juridical and conceptual issues because BMTs possess unique characteristics as Sharia microfinance institutions with a dual function: a social function (baitul maal) and a business function (baitul tamwil) oriented toward the economic empowerment of small and medium-sized communities. This research employs a normative juridical method with a statutory and conceptual approach. The analysis is conducted on the laws and regulations governing BMTs, cooperatives, and limited liability companies, as well as relevant legal doctrines and Sharia economic principles. The results indicate that the cooperative legal form is juridically and sociologically more aligned with the character and objectives of BMTs, as it is based on the principles of kinship, member participation, and collective welfare (maslahah). Conversely, the profit-oriented nature of limited liability companies, which prioritizes shareholder interests, potentially creates a conflict of objectives and weakens the social mission and Sharia compliance of BMTs. The novelty of this research lies in its critical analysis of the implications of legal entity choice, viewed not merely as a legal-formal issue but as a determining factor for institutional identity and Sharia compliance within the national legal system. This study recommends the need for more specific regulatory restructuring to ensure the sustainability of BMTs as Sharia financial institutions based on community empowerment.

Abstract

This study examines how parental economic level and parental expectancy influence santri self-efficacy through motivation, and how self-efficacy subsequently affects self-transformational outcomes among santri in Islamic boarding schools. While previous studies have largely focused on academic achievement or motivation as final outcomes, this research introduces self-transformational santri as an impact variable, representing sustained personal growth and internal change. A quantitative approach with a cross-sectional survey design is proposed, involving santri from Islamic boarding schools in Jambi Province (Kota Jambi, Sarolangun, and Bungo). Data are analyzed using Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The findings are expected to demonstrate that parental economic level and parental expectancy positively influence motivation and self-efficacy, while self-efficacy santri serves as a key antecedent of self-transformational outcomes. This study contributes a novel psychological pathway model relevant to Islamic education management and pesantren development.

Abstract

This article aims to conceptually examine the integration of teacher human resource development (HRD) management based on Islamic ethics in managing workplace conflict to enhance teacher professionalism, particularly in excellent madrasahs. This study employs a literature review approach by analyzing theories, concepts, and previous empirical studies related to teacher human resource development, Islamic ethics, workplace conflict management, and teacher professionalism within the context of madrasah education. The findings indicate that teacher professionalism is not solely determined by pedagogical and professional competencies, but also by the internalization of Islamic ethical values that shape work attitudes, moral integrity, and the ability to manage workplace conflicts constructively. Islamic ethics function as both a normative and strategic foundation underpinning teacher human resource development and conflict management practices in madrasah institutions. This review also identifies a research gap, particularly the limited number of studies that comprehensively integrate teacher human resource development, Islamic ethics, and workplace conflict management within a single conceptual framework, especially in the context of excellent madrasahs that face high performance standards and complex organizational dynamics. Therefore, this article proposes a conceptual framework as a theoretical foundation for future empirical research and the development of Islamic educational management practices.

Abstract

Problems arising in criminal law policy related to the formulation of sanctions for drug users in Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics include the lack of clarity in distinguishing between addicts and dealers, inconsistent application of penalties, and the lack of a rehabilitation approach as an alternative to criminal punishment. This often results in users who should be receiving treatment being imprisoned, making it difficult to achieve the goals of recovery and reducing social impacts. Furthermore, there are challenges in integrating an understanding of international law and developments in health sciences with existing regulations in Indonesia. The research method applied uses a legislative approach with a six-month activity plan. The scope or object of study in this research includes criminal law policy and the establishment of criminal sanctions for drug abuse. The legal materials used consist of primary, secondary, and tertiary legal materials. The research location is focused on the Indonesian jurisdiction, with data collection techniques in the form of document studies. Data analysis was conducted using qualitative analysis methods. The results of this study are the problem in the regulation in Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics regarding the use of narcotics is the application of harsh penalties for narcotics cases in Indonesia often does not clearly differentiate between users and dealers, so that many users who should receive rehabilitation are instead imprisoned and increasingly experience negative stigma. Law enforcement is also often inconsistent because the authorities have difficulty distinguishing users from dealers due to the unclear definition of narcotics in the regulations and criminal law politics regarding the formulation of sanctions for the use of narcotics in Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics is directed at creating a balance between firm legal action to overcome narcotics abuse and providing rehabilitation opportunities for addicts in order to reduce the number of circulation, reduce negative impacts and save the younger generation from the dangers of narcotics more effectively and holistically.
