Abstract

This study explores investor perceptions of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) reporting and its role in sustainable investment decision-making in Indonesia. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were gathered through in-depth interviews with institutional investors, financial analysts, and corporate executives. Thematic analysis revealed key factors influencing investor trust, including transparency, standardization, and third-party audits. The findings show that transparent and consistent ESG reports, especially those aligned with international standards like the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB), enhance investor confidence by improving comparability and reducing greenwashing risks. Third-party audits further strengthen the credibility of ESG disclosures. Despite these benefits, several challenges remain, such as regulatory inconsistencies, limited data availability, and the subjectivity of sustainability metrics. This research contributes to the understanding of ESG reporting’s impact on investment decisions and highlights the need for standardized frameworks and independent verification to build trust. Policymakers and corporations are encouraged to adopt uniform ESG standards and audit practices. Future studies should explore the effects of mandatory ESG disclosures and the role of technology in improving ESG reporting’s accuracy and transparency.

Abstract

This narrative review explores the integration of multicultural values within Islamic education in public schools, focusing on how inclusive practices contribute to tolerance and social harmony. The study aims to analyze existing literature on the topic and evaluate the effectiveness of pedagogical and institutional strategies. A systematic search was conducted across Scopus, Web of Science, ERIC, and Google Scholar using relevant keywords such as "multicultural Islamic education" and "inclusivity in Islamic education." Studies were selected based on relevance, quality, and empirical depth.  The results highlight four main themes: curriculum integration, the roles of teachers and leadership, effective teaching strategies, and barriers to implementation. Schools that integrate inclusive values into Islamic education foster students' empathy, tolerance, and interfaith understanding. Teachers and school leaders are key facilitators, while project-based learning and interactive media prove effective in promoting multicultural awareness. However, systemic challenges such as policy gaps, limited teacher training, and community resistance persist. Local contexts significantly influence implementation, indicating a need for adaptable and context-sensitive strategies. The findings suggest that strengthening teacher training, aligning national and local policies, and involving community stakeholders are critical for advancing multicultural Islamic education. These insights offer valuable guidance for future research and educational reforms aimed at building inclusive, pluralistic societies through Islamic schooling.

Abstract

This study presents a narrative review on Islamic feminism, examining how gender justice is conceptualized and practiced in Muslim-majority societies and diaspora communities. The review aims to identify key themes, challenges, and transformative strategies that define the Islamic feminist discourse. Methodologically, the study employed a systematic literature search across databases including Scopus, Google Scholar, and JSTOR, using targeted keywords and inclusion criteria to identify peer-reviewed articles relevant to feminist hermeneutics, activism, legal reform, and gender dynamics in Islam. The analysis revealed five central themes: feminist reinterpretation of religious texts, women's socio-political activism, intersections between national identity and feminism, cultural-religious negotiations, and internal tensions within Islamic feminist movements. Empirical data from various contexts demonstrated that systemic barriers—including patriarchal state structures, conservative religious narratives, cultural norms, and legal discrimination—significantly hinder the progress of gender equality. Comparative findings across Malaysia, Indonesia, Iran, and South Africa highlighted the contextual specificity and universality of these challenges. The discussion underscored the need for legal reform, inclusive education, and community-based advocacy to dismantle patriarchal systems. It also emphasized gaps in the literature, including limited attention to LGBTQ+ voices, digital activism, and ecofeminism. The study concludes that Islamic feminism requires an integrated strategy rooted in education, cultural engagement, and inclusive theology to create equitable societies.

Abstract

This narrative review examines the evolving landscape of marriage and divorce in Islamic contexts, with a focus on gender equity, legal interpretation, and socio-cultural influences. The study aims to understand the systemic barriers faced by women in initiating divorce and how legal, educational, and institutional reforms can address these challenges. Utilizing sources from Scopus, Google Scholar, JSTOR, and SpringerLink, the review analyzed literature published over the past fifteen years using keywords such as "Islamic marriage," "Islamic divorce," "fiqh," and "gender equity in Islam." The findings reveal that women often face legal and social obstacles in accessing divorce, compounded by economic dependency, limited legal knowledge, and gender-biased interpretations of Islamic law. Studies highlight the impact of educational interventions like fiqh munakahat, feminist legal reinterpretation, and national policy reforms in improving women's rights. Examples from India, Morocco, and Malaysia illustrate how legal innovation and inclusive practices can promote gender justice. The discussion emphasizes the need for systemic reforms that include educational restructuring, economic support, and protective legislation against domestic violence. In conclusion, the review advocates for context-sensitive and justice-centered reforms in Islamic family law. Emphasis is placed on legal empowerment, economic equity, and gender-sensitive interpretation of Sharia to support more equitable marital outcomes. Future research should expand in scope and methodology to ensure broader applicability and sustained social impact.
