Abstract

This study aimed to describe the need for developing teaching materials based on confident character education, to describe the product design of teaching materials development, and to explain the acceptability of developing teaching materials based on confident character education in order to improve studennts’ reading skills at grade IV. This study was conducted at three elementary schools in Kecamatan Kaliwungu Kudus in November 2020. Teaching materials referred to a set of learning materials/substances (teaching materials) arranged systematically, presenting a complete figure of the competencies that students should master in learning activities. According to Lauster in Ghufron (2011: 36), the aspects contained in self-confidence included: self-belief, optimism, positive attitude, objective, responsible, and rational. Research and development (R & D) method was utilized to develop or validate the products used in education and learning. This teaching material was effective in improving students' reading aloud skills. This was evidenced from the results of the increase in the n-gain index in the experimental class which was higher than the control class. The experimental class experienced an increase in gain of 0.57 in the medium category and the control class by 0.25 in the low category

Abstract

The goal of this study was to describe the form of children's responsible attitude in Desa Paren, Jepara. This study utilized a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study method. Parental patterns are the ways in which parents fulfill their roles as caretakers, educators, and companions to their children, and can be categorized into three types: democratic, authoritarian, and permissive. A child's responsibility refers to an individual’s attitude toward fulfilling duties and being prepared to bear the consequences of their words and actions. The subjects of this study were four children aged 8–10 years. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and documentation and analyzed qualitatively using the concept references from Miles and Huberman. The results indicated that the type of parenting applied influenced the development of responsibility in children. One child who received an authoritarian upbringing exhibited a low sense of responsibility. One child with a democratic upbringing showed a responsible attitude and the ability to solve problems independently. Two children who experienced permissive parenting demonstrated a reasonably good sense of responsibility.

Abstract

This study analyzes the forms of Javanese–Chinese cultural acculturation in the folklore Kyai Telingsing, widely known in Kudus Regency. Cultural acculturation is a blending process of two or more cultures without eliminating their original identity. Folklore plays an important role in shaping moral values, local wisdom, and character education for elementary school students. A qualitative approach with document analysis was used in this study. Data analysis followed Miles & Huberman’s model, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that Kyai Telingsing contains cultural acculturation elements in religious, artistic, social, and traditional aspects. These values can serve as learning resources in elementary Bahasa Indonesia instruction. This study contributes to strengthening cultural literacy and encourages the use of local folklore as teaching material.

Abstract

The kretek industry is one of the most important cultural and economic heritages in Indonesia, especially in the Kudus area, Central Java. Kretek cigarettes, a unique blend of tobacco and cloves, were first discovered as a medicinal herb by Haji Djamari in the late 19th century. This study aims to identify and analyze the cultural values contained in the folklore and review its relevance in children's literature education. The method used is qualitative descriptive with data collection techniques in the form of observing and taking notes on the folklore text, data obtained from the book Cerita Rakyat Pesisir Timur by Muhammad Kanzunudin. The results of the study show that this story has a strong educational function and is able to shape the local cultural identity of children in Kudus. The conclusion of this study is that the story of the Origin of the Kretek Industry has a strategic role as a medium for learning cultural values and needs to be integrated into children's literature learning to preserve local cultural heritage.

Abstract

Sebagai bagian dari warisan sastra lisan,cerita rakyat memiliki peran signifikan dalam kehidupan masyarakat, baik di masa lalu maupun di masa kini.Lebih dari sekedar menjadi sumber hiburan, cerita rakyat kaya akan nilai-nilai moral, agama, sosial, dan budaya yang diwariskan dari generasi ke generasi.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyingkap nilai-nilai budaya dan religius yang terkandung dalam cerita rakyat “Desa Pamotan” yang diambil dari buku Cerita Rakyat Pesisir Timur Jawa Tengah karya Kanzunnudin (2023).Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan analisis isi.Data penelitian berupa teks cerita rakyat “Desa Pamotan” dikaji untuk mengidentifikasi nilai-nilai moral, religius, sosial, dan budaya yang ada di dalamnya.Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa cerita rakyat ini mengandung nilai moral seperti kejujuran, ketekunan, dan pengendalian diri; nilai religius berupa doa, keyakinan kepada Tuhan, serta spiritualitas dalam praktik meditasi; nilai sosial berupa solidaritas, gotong royong, dan empati terhadap sesama; serta nilai budaya berupa penghormatan terhadap alam, tradisi setempat, dan asal usul nama-nama tempat.Dengan demikian, cerita rakyat “Desa Pamotan” tidak hanya berperan sebagai hiburan semata, tetapi juga sebagai media pendidikan karakter dan pelestarian kearifan lokal.Penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa cerita rakyat tetap relevan dalam membentuk jati diri bangsa di era globalisasi yang semakin kompleks.

Abstract

Penanaman nilai moral merupakan aspek penting dalam pendidikan dasar karena berperan sebagai fondasi pembentukan karakter peserta didik. Cerita rakyat, sebagai warisan budaya yang sarat kearifan lokal, dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai sumber belajar untuk menanamkan nilai moral. Artikel ini bertujuan menganalisis nilai-nilai moral dalam cerita rakyat Ki Ageng Ngerang serta relevansinya terhadap penguatan pendidikan karakter di sekolah dasar. Penelitian menggunakan metode kajian pustaka dengan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dan analisis data model Miles dan Huberman, meliputi reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Sumber data utama berasal dari buku Ki Ageng Ngerang karya Mohammad Kanzunnudin (2025), yang diperkuat oleh jurnal dan literatur terkait. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa cerita tersebut memuat nilai religius, tanggung jawab, toleransi, cinta damai, kerja keras, pantang menyerah, menghargai prestasi, kerjasama, serta peduli sosial. Seluruh nilai tersebut sejalan dengan dimensi Profil Pelajar Pancasila, sehingga cerita rakyat relevan dijadikan sumber pembelajaran kontekstual untuk penguatan pendidikan karakter

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan nilai-nilai budaya yang terdapat dalam cerita rakyat Perang Obor yang berasal dari Desa Tegalsambi, Kabupaten Jepara. Cerita diambil dari buku Cerita Rakyat Pesisir Timur karya Muhammad Kanzanuddin (2019) sebagai sumber utama. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data simak dan catat. Analisis data dilakukan melalui tahapan model Miles dan Huberman, yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan simpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa cerita Perang Obor mengandung berbagai nilai budaya yang tercermin dari alur cerita dan tradisi yang berkembang hingga saat ini. Nilai-nilai budaya tersebut meliputi nilai gotong royong, tanggung jawab, keberanian, religiusitas, serta pelestarian tradisi. Cerita asal-usul yang berkisah tentang konflik antara Mbah Kyai Babadan dan Ki Gemblong menjadi dasar pemahaman masyarakat mengenai makna simbolis perang obor sebagai sarana tolak bala dan ungkapan syukur. Nilai-nilai budaya yang ditemukan tidak hanya menggambarkan kehidupan masyarakat masa lampau, tetapi juga masih relevan sebagai pedoman dalam kehidupan sosial masyarakat Tegalsambi pada masa kini.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter yang terkandung dalam cerita rakyat Tradisi Meron. Tradisi Meron dipilih karena memiliki kekayaan nilai budaya dan sosial yang masih dijaga oleh masyarakat hingga saat ini. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan analisis strukturalisme untuk mengungkap makna dan nilai karakter yang terdapat dalam unsur cerita, seperti tokoh, alur, dan latar. Data dikumpulkan melalui metode simak dan catat terhadap teks cerita rakyat, kemudian dianalisis dengan model interaktif yang meliputi reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa cerita rakyat Tradisi Meron mengandung berbagai nilai pendidikan karakter, antara lain religius, gotong royong, tanggung jawab, kerja keras, dan kepedulian sosial. Nilai-nilai tersebut berfungsi sebagai pedoman moral dan sosial bagi masyarakat serta dapat dijadikan sumber pembelajaran karakter bagi generasi muda. Dengan demikian, Tradisi Meron tidak hanya berperan sebagai warisan budaya daerah, tetapi juga sebagai sarana edukatif yang memperkuat nilai-nilai luhur bangsa.

Abstract

Literary works play an important role as a medium for criticism of environmental degradation and human behavior towards nature. This study aims to analyze the ecological dimensions in Tere Liye's novel Pulang Pergi through the lens of literary ecology. Unlike previous studies, this study specifically explores the integration of ecocultural and ethnoecological concepts in action-crime genre narratives. The method used is descriptive qualitative with Cheryll Glotfelty's ecocritical approach. Data was collected through reading and note-taking techniques, then analyzed using dialectical methods to connect the facts in the text with the reality of the global ecosystem. The results show that the novel Pulang Pergi represents ecological imbalance due to the dominance of technology and destructive human ambition, as reflected in the setting of a nuclear reactor exclusion zone and land exploitation. However, the narrative also offers hope through traditional knowledge and ethnoecology as a path to sustainability. These findings confirm that popular literature can be a critical instrument in voicing contemporary environmental issues and building readers' ecological awareness.
