Abstract

Learning media certainly affects the continuity of the teaching and learning process. This study aims to conduct a literature review related to the effectiveness of phet simulation media in learning mathematics in elementary schools. The research method chosen in this study is the Systematic Literature Review method. Data collection was carried out by presenting all articles which were similar studies in this study. The articles used in this study were 10 articles obtained from Google Scholar. Based on this research, it was found that phet simulation media in mathematics learning can improve the continuity of the teaching and learning process which is characterized by increased ability of students' learning outcomes. Abstract

The lack of utilization of creative and innovative learning media causes a low level of student understanding of subject matter, especially mathematics. This study aims to determine the needs of learning media on the material of comparing fractions in grade V elementary school. This research is part of development research using the ADDIE model, but at this initial stage it only focuses on the needs analysis stage. The research subjects consisted of 31 students and 1 fifth grade educator of SDN Sindanggalih. Data collection techniques were carried out using observation, interview, and questionnaire distribution methods. Based on the results of data analysis, it was found that both teachers and students need more interactive mathematics learning media that can attract learning interest. Therefore, it is necessary to develop Genially-based interactive multimedia as a solution that suits the needs of mathematics learning on the material of comparing fractions.

Abstract

This study analyzes learning obstacles in mastering mixed arithmetic operations of whole numbers among fourth-grade elementary school students. The research aims to identify the causes of students’ difficulties and propose effective solutions. A qualitative case study approach was employed, involving 27 students and one teacher from a primary school in Tasikmalaya. Data were collected through observations, interviews, document studies, and diagnostic tests. The findings reveal three main learning obstacles: ontogenic, epistemological, and didactic. Ontogenic obstacles stem from students’ cognitive developmental limitations at the concrete operational stage, hindering their understanding of operation sequences. Epistemological obstacles arise from students’ inability to apply concepts flexibly across different contexts, particularly in word problems. Didactic obstacles are linked to conventional teaching methods and limited use of engaging media, leading to low student motivation and conceptual understanding. The diagnostic test results show that 27 students had very low understanding, nine had low, and four had moderate, with no students achieving high or very high levels. These findings highlight the need for contextual, interactive teaching strategies and concrete media to enhance students’ comprehension and engagement. Recommendations include adopting varied teaching approaches and innovative media tailored to students’ cognitive stages to improve learning outcomes.

Abstract

The background to this research is based on conditions in the field, namely that there are still many students who experience difficulties in understanding the basic concepts of multiplication calculation operations, as well as the limited use of innovative learning media in the classroom. This research aims and is useful to analyze the need for developing game-based interactive multimedia on multiplication material in elementary schools, so that it can provide alternative learning media that are more interesting, easy to access, and in accordance with student characteristics. The research method used was a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through interviews with class III teachers at SDN Condong, Tasikmalaya City. The results and discussion show that teachers in learning activities use the Contextual Teaching Learning (CTL) approach, with the lecture method, and media in the form of concrete objects around them and learning videos. However, teachers have not utilized game-based interactive multimedia, even though this media is considered to have great potential to increase student motivation and understanding. Teachers also hope that there will be learning media that is interactive, fun, easy to access, and in accordance with the cognitive needs of class III students. Thus, it can be concluded that there is a need for the development of game-based interactive multimedia that can facilitate visual and kinesthetic learning styles, as well as support the achievement of competencies in the Independent Curriculum.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a snakes and ladders learning media based on productive struggle for teaching plane shapes to elementary school students. The background of this research stems from students’ difficulties in understanding the concepts of plane shapes and the limited instructional media used by teachers. The productive struggle approach offers structured challenges that encourage students to solve problems independently, thereby enhancing conceptual understanding, learning autonomy, and mental resilience. This study adopts the Educational Design Research (EDR) method. Data collection techniques include interviews, observations, questionnaires, and expert validation. The analysis results show that most teachers and students require interactive and enjoyable learning media that can also stimulate students’ thinking skills. Game-based media such as snakes and ladders, when integrated with productive struggle principles, is considered highly suitable for development as it aligns with the characteristics of elementary school students. These findings form a crucial foundation for designing effective and contextual learning media to support mathematics.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran papan berpaku pada materi sifat-sifat bangun datar untuk peserta didik kelas IV Sekolah Dasar. Metode yang digunakan adalah model pengembangan ADDIE, yang mencakup lima tahap: analisis, desain, pengembangan, implementasi, dan evaluasi. Pada tahap analisis, identifikasi kebutuhan dilakukan melalui observasi pembelajaran, wawancara dengan guru dan peserta didik, serta studi dokumen. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa media pembelajaran yang digunakan di sekolah belum mampu memvisualisasikan konsep bangun datar secara optimal, serta perlu pengembangan dari segi ketahanan, keamanan, dan tampilan visual agar lebih menarik. Pada tahap desain, media dirancang berbentuk papan akrilik berukuran 60 x 60 cm, dilengkapi paku setinggi 1,5 cm dan karet berwarna sebagai alat bantu untuk membentuk berbagai jenis bangun datar. Proses pengembangan menghasilkan media yang dinyatakan sangat layak berdasarkan hasil validasi ahli, ditinjau dari aspek isi, tampilan, dan fungsionalitas. Uji coba di kelas menunjukkan bahwa media ini mudah digunakan oleh peserta didik dan mampu meningkatkan partisipasi serta pemahaman mereka terhadap materi. Tampilan media yang menarik juga mendukung keterlibatan aktif peserta didik selama proses pembelajaran. Dengan demikian, media pembelajaran papan berpaku dinilai efektif dalam membantu peserta didik memahami sifat-sifat bangun datar secara konkret dan sesuai dengan karakteristik belajar di sekolah dasar.

Abstract

Banyak siswa sekolah dasar mengalami kesulitan dalam mengukur keliling dan luas bangun datar. Pemecahan ini terkait dengan kesalahpahaman, penekanan pada menghafal rumus, dan pengalaman belajar yang bermakna terbatas di berbagai ranah kognitif, afektif, dan psikomotor. Studi ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kebutuhan pengembangan lembar kerja elektronik siswa tentang keliling dan luas untuk siswa sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini menggunakan tahap analisis dari model pengembangan ADDIE. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara guru dan analisis dokumen, termasuk dokumen kurikulum dan lembar kerja elektronik yang ada. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa lembar kerja elektronik saat ini memberikan peluang untuk meningkatkan motivasi dan pemahaman konsepisasi; namun, lembar kerja tersebut belum secara sistematis mengintegrasikan nilai-nilai karakter seperti kejujuran, disiplin, dan kerja sama. Hasil penelitian menyoroti urgensi pengembangan lembar kerja elektronik siswa yang lebih konstruktif yang mengintegrasikan konsep pengukuran matematika dengan pengembangan karakter. Analisis kebutuhan ini memberikan landasan teoritis dan praktis untuk tahap desain dan pengembangan selanjutnya.

Abstract

Media pembelajaran pecahan diyakini dapat mendukung pengembangan keterampilan pemahaman matematika. Namun kenyataannya, guru belum benar-benar menerapkan penggunaan media dalam pendidikan karena terlalu banyak waktu yang dibutuhkan untuk menciptakan media pembelajaran. Dari masalah tersebut, peneliti dalam penelitian ini membahas mengenai pentingnya menggunakan media pembelajaran, khususnya dalam pembelajaran matematika materi pecahan pada siswa kelas III. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui efektivitas media papan pecahan terhadap peningkatan pemahaman konsep bilangan pecahan sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan media. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode quasi eskperimental. Data dari penelitian ini dikumpulkan melalui observasi, studi literatur dan tes. Kemudian data dianalisis dengan uji prasyarat berupa uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, uji hipotesis (paired sample t-test) dan N-Gain. Pembelajaran matematika dengan menggunakan media papan pecahan dilakukan dalam 3 pertemuan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media papan pecahan efektif digunakan pada pembelajaran pecahan dan dapat meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman siswa. Hal tersebut dibuktikan dengan adanya perbedaan yang signifikan antara nilai rata-rata posttest di kelas eksperimen dan kontrol. Pada kelas eksperimen nilai rata-rata N-Gain 80,36%, sedangkan nilai rata-rata pada kelas kontrol sebesar 44,9%.

Abstract

Abstract Mathematics as an important subject in elementary school is often challenging for students, especially in understanding the basic concept of multiplication. This study aims to test the effectiveness of learning videos as an innovative media in improving student learning outcomes in multiplication material. The research method used is an experiment with a nonequivalent control group design. The subjects of the study involved third-grade students in two elementary schools, who were divided into experimental and control groups. Data were obtained through pretests and posttests to evaluate students' abilities before and after using learning videos. The results showed that the use of learning videos significantly improved students' understanding of the concept of multiplication compared to conventional lecture methods. Students in the experimental group showed a higher increase in learning outcomes based on the calculation of the gain index. These findings confirm that learning videos are effective in visualizing abstract concepts, creating an interactive learning atmosphere, and increasing students' learning motivation. This study concludes that the integration of video media in mathematics learning can be an innovative solution to improve student learning outcomes at the elementary level. Abstrak Matematika sebagai mata pelajaran penting di sekolah dasar sering kali menantang bagi siswa, khususnya dalam memahami konsep dasar perkalian. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji efektivitas video pembelajaran sebagai media inovatif dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada materi perkalian. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksperimen dengan desain nonequivalent control group. Subjek penelitian melibatkan siswa kelas III di dua sekolah dasar, yang dibagi ke dalam kelompok eksperimen dan kontrol. Data diperoleh melalui pretest dan posttest untuk mengevaluasi kemampuan siswa sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan video pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan video pembelajaran secara signifikan meningkatkan pemahaman siswa terhadap konsep perkalian dibandingkan dengan metode ceramah konvensional. Siswa dalam kelompok eksperimen menunjukkan peningkatan hasil belajar yang lebih tinggi berdasarkan perhitungan indeks gain. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa video pembelajaran efektif dalam memvisualisasikan konsep abstrak, menciptakan suasana belajar yang interaktif, dan meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa integrasi media video dalam pembelajaran matematika dapat menjadi solusi inovatif untuk memperbaiki hasil belajar siswa di tingkat dasar. Abstract

This research aims to analyze the effectiveness of using Wordwall, a gamification-based platform, in improving elementary school students' critical thinking skills on Solar System materials. This is motivated by the fact that digital transformation in basic education has encouraged the utilization of technology to increase student engagement and interactivity, but there are still many challenges in delivering materials in an interesting and effective way. On the other hand, although students show interest in Solar System materials, they often struggle in understanding abstract concepts such as revolution, rotation and gravity. Conventional learning is often not interactive enough, so students feel less engaged and have difficulty in understanding the material. The use of innovative educational technology such as Wordwall is expected to address this issue, by offering a more engaging and fun approach to learning complex concepts. This study used a qualitative approach with exploratory descriptive method, involving interviews, questionnaires and observations of three teachers and 30 students in three elementary schools that have adopted technology-based learning. The results showed that students using Wordwall were more active in discussions and had better understanding compared to conventional learning methods. Therefore, Wordwall has great potential to improve learning effectiveness and students' critical thinking skills in elementary schools. The results of this study are expected to be a reference for educators in optimizing the use of technology in more innovative and effective learning.
