Abstract

Kapanewon Pundong is in an active tectonic zone and has experienced significant seismic events, including the 2006 Bantul earthquake (Mw 6.3), which caused extensive damage. Liquefaction was a key contributor to infrastructure failure during the event. This study aims to evaluate liquefaction potential in Kapanewon Pundong through integrated microtremor and geospatial analysis. The Horizontal-to-Vertical Spectral Ratio (HVSR) method assessed local site effects that influence ground shaking. Liquefaction probability was estimated using the model by Zhu et al. (2017), considering parameters such as Vₛ₃₀, PGV, water table depth (WTD), distance to water bodies (DW), and average annual precipitation. The research findings include Vₛ₃₀ values that range from 221 to 893 m/s, PGV values from 16 to 29 cm/s. Panjangrejo and Srihardono villages exhibit the highest liquefaction probabilities, up to 30%. The estimated Liquefaction Spatial Extent (LSE) in these areas reaches 5.1%. These findings identify high-risk zones for earthquake-induced liquefaction and provide a quantitative foundation for spatial planning and disaster mitigation strategies in the region.

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

During the Covid-19 Pandemic, there was a notable increase in the proportion of children experiencing stunted in Indramayu District. The lack of existing research on the linear communication model in relation to stunting and the promotion of social capital during the Covid-19 pandemic is a notable requires attention. This study is to conduct a qualitative study to examine the communication models of stunting and social capital within the specific setting of the Covid-19 Pandemic in Indramayu. This is influenced by the linear communication model and the limited choices for engagement in improving and utilizing social capital. The communication strategy shows ineffective communication and coordination, both within the government and between officials and parents or caregivers of undernourished young children, as well as inadequate utilization of GESIT application data. Therefore, it is crucial to develop an intervention strategy that includes legal components, models and communication methods. A communication model needs to be developed to provide a two-way communication, encourage input from caregivers, convergence of stakeholders, and provide training in communication techniques for the staff involved. To sustain the foster parent program, it is essential to enable communication and ensure two-way access for all parties involved.

Abstract

Indonesia is highly vulnerable to natural disasters such as earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanic eruptions, and floods. In this context, families play a crucial role as pillars of resilience and preparedness for disasters. This study aims to review existing literature related to the role of families in building resilience and disaster preparedness in Indonesia. This study illustrates the importance of the family's role in facing various natural disasters that are common in Indonesia. The family not only functions as a basic unit in society but also as the first agent in disaster risk mitigation. Through this role, families can strengthen the capacity of individuals and communities in facing emergency situations. This literature review includes an analysis of various studies that have been conducted on family strategies in increasing resilience to disasters, including disaster education at home, provision of emergency equipment, and evacuation plans. In addition, it also discusses how government policies and community support can strengthen the role of families in disaster preparedness. The literature review shows that families with good knowledge and preparedness can reduce the negative impact of disasters. Families that have implemented disaster preparedness practices tend to be more able to survive and recover quickly after a disaster occurs. Government and community support are also found to be very important in strengthening family resilience. The purpose of this study is to provide a comprehensive overview of the important role of families in facing disasters in Indonesia and to identify factors that support family resilience. This study emphasizes that families have a vital role in disaster preparedness and resilience. With appropriate education, government support, and community involvement, families can be a key pillar in disaster mitigation strategies, which in turn will reduce losses and accelerate the post-disaster recovery process

Abstract

ANALYSIS OF ENVIRONMENTAL DAMAGE DUE TO SAND MINING IN THE PROGO RIVER Mining activities can significantly impact the physical environment, particularly in areas close to critical infrastructures such as rivers and residential buildings. This research purposively choose a corporation mining activities in the Progo River to being evaluated in the context of envionmental damage. This study aims to assess the extent of environmental damage in and around of corporation mining concession area, specifically focusing on river degradation, erosion, and structural instability. The goal is to classify the damage according to established environmental criteria and determine the severity of the impact. The research utilized aerial photographs, satellite imagery, and photos obtained from drones. These were first processed using photogrammetry software, followed by geometric correction on the images to eliminate perspective distortion and topographic tilt, resulting in an accurate orthophoto. The orthophoto was then analyzed spatially using a Geographic Information System (GIS).. The assessment was carried out using the criteria and benchmarks provided by the Governor's Decree of the Special Region of Yogyakarta No. 63 of 2003. The findings indicate significant environmental damage due to PT A’s mining activities. River flow changes were identified, with a shift to a meandering pattern and the formation of deep troughs in the riverbed. Based on the analysis, the environmental damage caused by PT A’s mining activities falls into the category of severe damage. The degradation of the river, erosion of land, and instability of nearby infrastructure necessitate urgent attention and mitigation efforts to prevent further environmental harm.

Abstract

Urban health resilience was increasingly recognized as a critical pillar of sustainable development, particularly in densely populated and disaster-prone cities. As part of the broader framework of urban resilience engineering, strengthening health systems was essential to prevent service disruptions and ensure continuity during crises. Emergency Medical Teams (EMTs) played a central role in this process by providing rapid, standardized, and sustainable responses. However, the Indonesian Emergency Medical Team (TCK-EMT Indonesia) had not yet achieved WHO verification, indicating persistent challenges in governance, operational readiness, and integration with urban health systems. This study applied the Edwards III policy implementation framework, which covered communication, resources, disposition, and bureaucratic structure, through a narrative literature review of national regulations, WHO standards, and After Action Reports from missions in Türkiye (2023) and Myanmar (2025). Findings revealed that although TCK-EMT Indonesia personnel demonstrated strong motivation and adaptive capacity, weaknesses persisted in communication delays, limited logistical self-sufficiency, and fragmented bureaucratic structures. These gaps undermined the ability of urban health systems to sustain essential services during disasters. Comparative insights from Türkiye and Myanmar highlighted how external facilitation, linguistic and cultural barriers, and governance fragilities critically influenced resilience outcomes in urban crisis contexts. The study concluded that strengthening TCK-EMT Indonesia was not only a step toward WHO verification but also a strategic measure for developing adaptive, integrated, and sustainable urban health systems. From the perspective of urban resilience engineering, enhancing EMT capacity constituted a pivotal effort to safeguard disaster-prone cities against increasingly complex health crises.
