Abstract

Objective: This research aims to analyze how ethical leadership can encourage innovative work behavior among university lecturers, by also considering the mediating role of psycho-social well-being and the moderating role of perceived organizational support. Research Design & Methods: This study uses a quantitative approach through structural equation modeling (SEM) techniques using partial least squares (SmartPLS 3). Data were collected using a structured questionnaire sent to 332 university lecturers in West Java and Banten. Findings: Ethical leadership (EL) has a positive and significant influence on the innovative work behavior (IWB) of lecturers, both directly and through the mediation of psycho-social well-being (PSWB). Perceived Organizational Support (POS) has been proven to strengthen this relationship by enhancing the sense of belonging and affective commitment of lecturers towards the institution. Implications & Recommendations: For higher education institution administrators, the results of this study provide an empirical foundation for designing leadership policies and organizational interventions aimed at enhancing the psycho-social well-being and innovative capacity of lecturers. Contribution & Value Added: This research adds to the existing knowledge about leadership and innovative behavior by explaining how PSWB and POS help improve the effects of EL, particularly during times of digital change and the use of AI in higher education.

Abstract

Family resilience is a crucial issue these days. Data shows that hundreds of thousands of couples in Indonesia fail to maintain their marriages and end up divorcing. This paper aims to provide solutions to these cases by offering a new paradigm for maintaining families, namely by proposing the Maqasid Syari’ah (objectives of Islamic law) as conceived by Alal al-Fasi. This research is a type of library research with a descriptive and interpretative analytical approach. There are two types of data in this research: primary data obtained from books written by Alal Fasi and secondary data in the form of books, journals, and other written sources of information. The results of this study show that Alal al-Fasi's Maqasid Syari’ah thinking is very relevant to be applied and used as a paradigm to achieve family resilience. This proposal is formulated into two parts. First, to create family resilience, it is necessary to integrate psychological, moral, and spiritual aspects, which are realized through the fulfillment of human rights in the household, such as the needs for clothing, food, and shelter. Second, by understanding maqasid as a husband and carrying out the two great mandates given by the Qur'an, namely as qawam, the leader of the household, which emphasizes obligations from a material and moral aspect, and the obligation to protect the family from the fires of hell, which emphasizes the spiritual aspect.

Abstract

Research aims: This study examines the process of member self-identification toward Al-Ma'un values as an organizational identity at PKU Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta Hospital.Design/Methodology/Approach: This study applied a qualitative case study method to obtain data, information, and knowledge related to members' awareness of Al-Ma'un, which was the source of inspiration for the birth of this hospital in 1923. Informants consisted of employees, with the primary data collection through in-depth interviews. Research findings: The study findings revealed that the member identification toward Al-Ma'un values has internalized into a nested identity, which becomes the organizational identity of PKU Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta Hospital. Theoretically, this study found a solid and long-standing distinctive value of the three CED criteria (central, enduring, and distinctive) in the organizational identity concept, as introduced by Albert and Whetten (1995), with Al-Ma'un as a unique feature distinguishing PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital from other hospitals. The facts also showed that there was still a value alignment since several services from some PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital health workers still have not shown consistent Islamic behavior.Theoretical contribution/Originality: This research theoretically contributes to the development of organizational theory related to religiosity organizational identity as a relatively new object of study using a qualitative approach in the discipline of economics. Findings of religiosity organizational identity based on the values of Al-Ma'un have the nature of novelty and originality of this research.Practitioner/Policy implication: This research has practical implications in the form of a new approach to developing hospital management based on religious values (Al-Ma'un) in dealing with the dynamics of social-humanitarian and non-profit orientations with professional and profit orientations. In addition, this research can be used for hospital development, which is coherent between a non-profit with professional orientation and profit orientation, which is still built on the organizational identity values.Research limitation/Implication: This study implies that a more robust internalization is needed to make Al-Ma'un a unique identity, image, and branding of the organizational identity of PKU Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta Hospital. The limitation of this research is that the case study was only in one Muhammadiyah hospital, so it is not to be generalized to other hospitals with different organizational backgrounds. Since it emphasizes the self-identification process related to knowledge, commitment, and action aspects in forming an organizational identity based on Al-Ma'un values, this study did not elaborate in-depth on the dynamic aspects of continuity and discontinuity processes from the identification process of these three aspects, which require further research to obtain a broader understanding of the problem under study.

Abstract

Research aims: This study aims to analyze the impact of religiosity, trust in leaders, and team cohesion on green organizational citizenship behavior (Green OCB) through green employee engagement.Design/methodology/Approach: The study was conducted on 315 employees of Bank Syariah Indonesia using a multiple-stage cluster sampling technique with a purposive sampling method. Data was collected through a validated and reliable questionnaire, and analyzed using the Amos SEM application for hypothesis testing. Research finding: The research shows that religiosity significantly affects green employee engagement (P = 0.000). Trust in the leader, on the other hand, has an insignificant effect on green employee engagement (P = 0.426). Additionally, team cohesion has a significant effect on green employee engagement (P = 0.000). Furthermore, religiosity and team cohesion significantly affect Green OCB, with values of P = 0.002 and P = 0.028, respectively. Trust in the leader was found to have an insignificant effect on Green OCB (P = 0.680). It is important to note that trust in the leader did not significantly affect Green OCB after Z-testing. However, green employee engagement was found to mediate the relationship between religiosity and team cohesion on Green OCB, with values of (P = 0.003) and (P = 0.012), respectively. Theoretical Contribution/originality: This research contributes to the theory regarding the relationship between religiosity and trust in leaders within the context of green employee engagement. However, it indicates that trust in leaders does not appear to influence Green OCB. Instead, the study suggests that religiosity and team cohesion may play a significant role in increasing Green OCB. Additionally, the research underscores the mediating role of green employee engagement in the relationship between religiosity, trust in leaders, team cohesion, and Green OCB, particularly among employees in Islamic banking companies. Practitioners Contribution/implications: This research provides guidance for practitioners in Islamic banking to implement business models, with a particular emphasis on the importance of reliability for employees and leaders. This emphasis stems from its significant impact on the implementation of green management within the company. Research limitation/implications: The research data relies on perceptual measures, which may not fully capture the behavior of all respondents. Future research should consider factors such as the distribution of respondents, the frequency and timing of longitudinal studies, and other relevant variables that can be integrated into the model to provide a more comprehensive understanding.

Abstract

Digital transformation in the basic education sector has become an urgent necessity in the era of information technology. SD Negeri 1 Demung Besuki, Situbondo, as an educational institution, has not yet implemented an integrated information system to manage public services such as academic information, the school profile, and communication with parents. The school still relies on manual methods that may lead to inefficiency and delays in delivering information. This study aims to design and implement a web-based school information system to improve the quality of public services through technology integration. This research adopted the waterfall method, consisting of the following stages: requirements analysis (field observations and interviews with stakeholders, including the principal, teachers, and parents), system design (relational database design, process flow design, and user interface design), system implementation, and testing and evaluation. Functional testing was conducted using black-box testing, while usability was evaluated using the System Usability Scale (SUS) questionnaire. The developed system provides core school information services, including dynamic content management (school profile, news, and gallery), a real-time announcement module, and an admin dashboard for updating information, with a responsive interface compatible with mobile devices. The evaluation results indicate a 72% improvement in information delivery efficiency, calculated by comparing the average efficiency indicator scores (e.g., speed of accessing information, timeliness of receiving announcements, and reduced need for manual confirmations) before and after the system implementation, based on questionnaire data from participants consisting of teachers/parents. Therefore, the web-based school information system contributes significantly to faster and more efficient public service delivery compared to conventional methods

Abstract

Purpose: This study examines how perceived diversity, inclusive leadership, and discrimination impact employee well-being, with employee inclusion as a mediator. It highlights the importance of inclusive leadership and the absence of discrimination for positive workplace outcomes and addresses the limited research on these relationships in Indonesia. Research Methodology: This study employed a quantitative survey design. Data were collected from 206 permanent employees of PT XYZ Bekasi using purposive sampling. The data were analyzed using structural equation modeling partial least squares (SEM-PLS) with SmartPLS 4 to assess both direct and indirect relationships among the variables. Results: Perceived diversity does not significantly affect employee inclusion. Inclusive leadership positively impacts both inclusion and well-being, while discrimination negatively affects inclusion. Employee inclusion positively influences well-being and mediates the effects of leadership and discrimination on well-being, but not the effect of perceived diversity. Conclusions: Employee inclusion plays a crucial role in enhancing employee well-being, particularly through inclusive leadership practices and discrimination reduction. Perceived diversity alone is insufficient to foster inclusion or well-being without supportive organizational practices. Limitations: This study was limited to a single organization and employed a cross-sectional design, which may restrict the generalizability and causal interpretation of the findings. Contributions: This study contributes to the literature by highlighting employee inclusion as a key psychological mechanism linking inclusive leadership and discrimination to employee well-being in diverse organizational settings in Indonesia.
